Box....this one's for you Heather B!

For my stampers 6 I made a little box as a card holder and showed it on my blog a few weeks ago.  I had a few people ask me for a tutorial or "recipe" to make one so I made a gift set on the weekend for a friend and thought I'd pass along the template for the box. 

If you click on the picture, you can see it enlarged and read the measurements more accurately.  Start with a sheet of CS that is 4 3/4 x 8 1/2.  Going across the page, score at 2 and 6 1/2 (these lines are marked with a dotted white line).  From the top, score at 2 and 2 3/4.  You need to create tabs for your box to stay together so I have 3/4 inch tabs at the ends of my front and back panels.  These will adhere to the back of the side panels to close the box.  Then punch 2 slots in your box using your horizontal slot punch in the front and back.  This is where your ribbon will slide through.  By putting your ribbon through these holes then tying around the cards, it prevents the cards from falling out of the box....neat eh?

For the cards, I kept them simple and of similar design.

All of the cards are done on So Saffron CS, with a ribbon across the top of the Cutie Pie Designer Paper.  The ribbons have a few staples in them for a little extra touch.  I actually also embossed the images in Black and coloured them in using my aqua painter and watercolour wonder crayons.

 I am SO very excited to share with you today that my new friends Janna Wilsonand Valerie Salmonhave announced the opening of registration for their Got Sketch 101 class

Got Sketch 101 is a three-week online class designed and taught by Valerie Salmon and Janna Wilson. The class kicks off June 9th and will feature the most creative sketches yet: TEN exclusive, never-before-seen sketches for 12x12 one-page layouts, 12x12 two-page layouts, cards and altered items! As an added bonus, they are also providing the layout sketches in 8 1/2 x 11 format. Sketches & projects will be added 2-3 times weekly during the three-week workshop.  With the introduction of each new sketch, examples of actual projects will be shown alongside it to give you ideas on their interpretations.

Janna Wilson and Valerie Salmonare amazing scrapbookers and artists, their publication resumes are impressive to say the least!! Diverse in their styles and talented on many levels, Janna and Valerie are also two very generous and kind hearted women that have come into my life, as a result of my association with Stampin' Up! and my wonderful friend Dawn Rapsas.

Happy Birthday Emma!!!  My little girl turns 8 today!!!  Where does the time go?  I made this card for her yesterday using the splitcoast colour challenge of Soft Sky, Blue Bayou and Certainly Celery.  Isn't it fun? 

Recipe:

Stamps: Hip Hip Hooray (the little mouse), So very (sweet)

Others: Upper chipboard, Certainly Celery DSP, Spring Break DSP, Silver Hodgepodge, Crystal Effects, 3/4 circle punch, white gel pen, micro beads, accetate, crop-o-dile

The 8 is actually a shaker card.  I hand drew in the balloon strings under the acetate on the top of the 8 and then extending onto the number.  The balloons are all punched with the 3/4 inch circle punch and then I drew the white reflection line on with the white gel pen.  Some of the balloons are glued right on the card while others are popped up at different levels.  The balloons and the word sweet are all covered in Crystal Effects.  I used the crop-o-dile to dry emboss the bottom of the card.  Hope your day is as great as Emma's!

Inchies....HUH?

I know, it's a  similar colour scheme to yesterday, but isn't it fun?  I actually used Bashful Blue instead of Soft Sky.  So, you ask, "what's an inchie?"  Well, again this is a challenge from Splitcoast, to create a card using 1 inch square either full or parial images.  So, this card has three "inchies" on it!  I couldn't resist using this super fun (yes I know retired....but come on give me some slack, it's SO cute!) stamp set from a few years back. 

The images are all embossed on watercolour paper and then coloured in using my aqua painter and ink pads.  I stamped a matching envelope but coloured in these images with my markers.

Others: Bashful Blue Striped Ribbon, Dimensionals, White Craft Ink (dragged the edges of all my paper in it), EE Brads, aqua painter, variety of markers

A Week Late!

Well, I've been trying to do the challenges on Splitcoast and I'm about a week late!  I had a few hours this weekend to play so I did most of last week's challenges that I'll post now!  This could also mean, double posts in a day if I'm more on the ball this week!

This was last week's colour challenge....Soft Sky, Ruby Red and Pumpkin Pie....YUMMY!!!  Love it!

It's tough to see in the photo but the Ruby Red layer and the Soft Sky layer are "popped" up using dimensionals as well as the top butterfly.  I am also trying hard to stick to 100% SU so guess what?????  I made my own dew drops!!!!  I used Crystal Effects (a good size blog) and then took a tooth pick and dipped it in my reinker.  After that I just gently let the reinker drop onto the Crystal Effects blob and VOILA this is what I ended up with!  I made them on waxed paper (not my new acrylic grid!) and when they were dry they just peeled right up!!!

Cyndi's Weekend Sketch

It's that time again!  Sketch weekend challenge for all you scrapbookers out there!  Check out Cyndi's sketch and sample HERE,  It's raining here today so maybe if it's raining your way you can squeeze in a half hour and try out the sketch....if you do email me a photo and I'll give it a post on my blog!  This was a fun one for me as there were no "assigned spots" for photos.  I took this sketch and ran with it!

This was a fun day this past winter.  Totally spur of the moment we decided to go sledding near our house with some friends and boy was it COLD!  BUT, it was so much fun and shockingly we all lasted for a few hours!

  I decided to do my journaling right on the scrapbook paper which I'm pleased with, I wasn't sure how it would turn out.

Happy Birthday

This was a 5 minute card....seriously FIVE minutes!  I totally cased it from my friend Barb's Christmas card.  I appologize for the photo quality but up close it's a fun card!

I PROMISE tomorrow I'll have some great new things to share that I've been working on, plus some of last week's challenges and Cyndi's weekend sketch!  We've been busy in the back yard and sadly stamping has taken a back burner this week!  Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

Magic Card Instructions

  I've been asked a number of times how to make the "magic" card so I thought I'd share some instructions today.  If you have more questions, feel free to comment and I"ll try and answer them.

Start with a piece of cardstock measuring 8 1/2 x 5 1/2.  This is a standard card size.

Score at 2 1/8, 4 1/4 and then 6 3/8.

Crease your card in the middle (on the 4 1/4 score line)

Measure 1 3/4 from the top and bottom of the card.  Cut from the middle seam to the 2 1/8 score line at the 1 3/4 inch mark (lots of number there!!!)  If you lay this flat you are left with a sheet of cardstock with two lines cut from the 2 1/8 score line to the 6 3/8 score line.

Now you need 2 pieces of cardstock to weave in the middle of your card.  I use white as it's easy to stamp on.  The strips are 2 x 5 1/2.  Weave the first piece on the left side so the white shows on the top and bottom.  Weave the second strip on the right so the white is tucked under the top and bottom and middle

is showing.

Stamp your images on the white squares showing.

To open the card (the magic pa

rt) fold the card in a W shape.  Now pull on the white flap on the right middle and the pink flap in the middle on the left.  Pull these two apart and you now have another part of your card!!!  Trust me....try it!

Then stamp on the white are

as showing.  I left one blank to write a birthday greeting.

This is a page I did a while back from our holiday to Bermuda. 

Colours: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Basful Blue

Emma LOVED the aquarium.  I think we could have spent the entire day at the aquarium.  She read EVERY sign and wanted to learn everything about the underwater world!  She sat in front of this large aquarium for a very long time just amazed at all there was to see!  I included a copy of the one picture I just love of her staring so intently at the tank.  I could have sat watching her all day long....it was so very sweet!  Hope you had a great day!

One Look, One Layout, Four Cards AND a box!

For my Stampers 6 club this month we made this cute little box to house four different themed cards in.  The box works the same way as a Chocolate Bar holder (I've done a tutorial for this before).  You can pull the cards out, but they don't fall out of the box as the ribbon holds them in.  All of the cards were made using the ABC Lower Alphabet, Holiday Blitz and the Level 1 hostess DSP pack.  Each card also had a different ribbon and different bow!

This card is done using Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose as the accent colour.  The top and bottom corners were rounded using the corner rounder.

This card is done using Apricot Appeal and Pumpkin Pie!  I'm not sure why I don't use this colour combination more often!  The pumpkin was rock n rolled in these two ink colours.

This card uses Wild Wasabi and yes, that's right....Garden Green!  I'm not sure I've ever used this colour....oh my!  The clover was also rock n rolled in Mellow Moss and Garden Green.

This last card is done using Brocade Blue and Bashful Blue.  I am really happy with the simplicity of these cards.  Wouldn't it be fun to make a year-round class???  Keep your eyes peeled!!!

Cyndi's Weekend Sketch

Alrighty, Cyndi did a great sketch again this weekend!  To my dear Scrappers Club we are going to be using this layout in our class tomorrow night!  Check out Cyndi's sample HERE, it's a great birthday sketch!  I keep eyeing up that candle birthday set....maybe, just maybe!!!

For my sketch, I switched it up a bit by doing a two page spread using two different colours.  I'm happy with the finished product.  I also have journaling with the kids' names for under the picture but I couldn't post that on my site just in case.

Another Challenge

I haven't forgotten about you!  Thanks for checking in though!  I first want to thank each of you that came to my HUGE stamp sale!  What fun!!!  I have stuff left and will leave it out over the next little bit if you're coming by for classes and then it'll be away until the second HUGE stamp sale!!!

This was a fun card to make!  The Splitcoast challenge on Thursday was to use chipboard and Friday's challenge was to make a card with NO stamps!  So, this is what I came up with for both challenges.

The chipboard "n" is actually covered in fabric from one of Nathan's first sleepers!  I adhered it using sticky strip!  Isn't this a fun way to keep a favourite fabric or memory alive!!!  Wouldn't this be FABULOUS for a scrapbook page or title???

Then I created the car using my Coluzzle.  I just cut partial circles of different sizes for the top and bumpers of the car that match the fabric.

The words are an SU rub on, the wheels are circle punches,  and the door handles were made with the horizontal rectangle SU punch.  The dots around the outside are free hand and just follow the idea of the cars on the fabric!  So, what do you think?  Hope you have a happy Mother's Day tomorrow!!!

Yesterday's Splitcoast Challenge

Wednesday's challenge on Splitcoaststampers is to create a card based on a layout given.  I found this layout to be tough but am happy with the finished product.

Recipe:

Colours: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Rose Red

Stamps: Polka Dots and Paisley

Others: Antique Brass Build a Brads, Small Oval Punch, Rose Red DSP, Coluzzle, clear embossing powder with Chocolate Chip Craft Ink for the greeting, markers, sponging

Diorama Tutorial

For today's splitcoast challenge, you had to use the colours pretty in pink, lovely lilac and certainly celery.  SO, I decided I'd combine yesterday's challenge of the diorama box and today's colour challenge and do a quick tutorial on my diorama card.  I used the stamp set By Ones and By Twos from the current SU mini catalogue.  Isn't it a sweet set?  Click on the pictures to enlarge them.

Start with your cardstock pieces.  The back and the front pieces of cardstock are 4 1/4 by 8 1/2.  You then score them both 2 inches from each end.  The middle colour (mine Celery) is 4 1/4 x 6 1/2 and you score this one inch from each end.

Next cut out the window from your front piece.  I left a 3/4 inch border around the window.  There are a few ways to do this, I use my Fiskars and measure as I go.  You can also draw where you want to cut your window and then use your cutter or an exacto knife.

Then cut the window in your middle sheet.  I left a one inch border on this window.  This way you can see a bit more of the art you create on this border.

Embellish your three layers.  Remember to make the display interesting and to stamp/embellish even outside the window dimensions because once the card is assembled and open you can see more than just the window.

Apply adhesive to the 2 flaps on the Celery so the "good side" is facing up.  Apply adhesive to the 2 flaps on the Pretty in Pink so the "good side" is facing down.

Attach the Celery layer to the bottom layer by folding up the Lilac flaps and adhering to the celery.

Attach the Pretty in Pink to the Lilac by wrapping the flaps around the Lilac and adhering!  Have fun creating!  I'd love for you to send me a link or photo to a diorama you've created!

Diorama Card

I always swore off diorama cards because they looked like so much work.  Well, how fun are they!?!?  I am going to make a million (slight exaggeration!)  The instructions for this can be found on Splitcoast but I did modify mine a bit.  Rather than using a punch to create my window I cut out rectangles using my Fiskars cutter.  The So Saffron layer has a 3/4 border around the windo and the Certainly Celery has a 1 inch border.  On the So Saffron layer, I simply stamped the star from Nursery Necessities in So Saffron.  Then I stamped one on white and punched it out with the small star punch.  I then paper pierced a star on Almost Amethyst using the punches classy brass template and then punched out the star using the large star punch.  The small star was covered with 2 way glue and then Dazzling Diamonds.

For the Celery layer, I stamped the star in Celery and then using the punches classy brass template I dry embossed some stars as well.  I then stamped three more stars using the small star punch and So Saffron ink and created the dangling stars.  These too are covered in Dazzling Diamonds.  I used my paper piercer and put holes in the top, fed silver cording through them and then they are dangling from three eyelets on the top of the Celery layer.

The back layer is Almost Amethyst.  I stamped the greeting in Eggplant Envy.  The moon was stamped on Whisper White and then cut out leaving a small white border.  I also stamped some stars on this back layer in Almost Amethyst.

Splitcoast Challenge FS65

OK, so Splitcoaststampers has a daily challenge and I'm not sure why it's taken me four years to play along but I had some time last night so I thought I'd try a challenge.  Sunday's challenge is to visit a specific person's gallery and CASE (AKA copy) a card but change it up just a bit to make it your own.  So, this week's feature stamper is Kim.  I chose to CASE THIS CARD and this is what I came up with:

Recipe:

Stamps: Sincere Salutations, Tart and Tangy

Colours: Basic Black, Real Red, Old Olive, Whisper White

Other: Crop-o-dile for the embossed bottom border, 1 1/4 circle punch, SU markers, Large Oval Punch

To make this card, I punced otu 1 1/4 inch circles away from the black cardstock.  Then I stamped the cherries on 1 3/8 circles and then adhered them to the back of the black holes.  I also applied Crystal Effects on the cherries although it's tough to see in the picture.  Jill inspired me also with this card using the idea of a slot machine.  Thanks for looking!

Happy Sunday!  I hope your day was as sunny and relaxing as ours! 

I challenged myself this morning to make a card in under 10 minutes(that's how long the monkey bread had left to cook before breakfast!)  And this is what I came up with!

Recipe:

Colours: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose

Stamps: Nursery Necessities

Other: White Gel Pen, Dimensionals, Level 1 hostess package of Designer Series Paper, Pink Gingham Ribbon

This is a standard card size of 8 1/2 x 5 1/2.  I rounded the two outside corners.  The DSP is 4 x 4 1/4.  I attached the ribbon first then the paper on the front.  I stamped the elephane in Pretty in Pink and rock n rolled it in the Regal Rose ink.  I then faux stitched around the outside of the elephant using the Regal Rose SU marker.  I stamped the elephant again in Regal Rose ink on Whisper White cardstock and cut out the ear leaving a small pink border.  I then popped the ear up.

BUT WANT TO KNOW THE BEST PART???  I attached the elephant layers (including the pink) with DOTTO which is a temporary adhesive so the recipient of this card can use this little decorative feature on a scrapbook page!!!! 

I Did It....Finally....

I have been a bit neglectful in completing Cyndi's weekend sketch challenges.....BUT I did this weekend's!  I am so proud, it's done and even on time!  I appologize for the past few weekends, as some of you know it has been a bit "much" around our house.  Things seem to be back on track and therefore I'm back onto my scrapping!  This is the sketch for this weekend.  Check out Cyndi's Blog for her sample....it's got orange!!!

It's another Sharon Creek page!  The kids went with Adam last weekend and I couldn't resist some of these photos!  My friend Sonia so kindly bought me some scrapbook paper and embellishments when she went to some crazy scrapbook store so I just had to use them on this layout.

Nursery Necessities Class Planner

I have had some questions about what a class planner is.  Basically for $25 you will receive everything you need to make the projects shown except the actual supplies.  If you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator this is perfect for planning a class!  You receive all the supplies needed, dimensions and step by step photo instructions on how to complete all the projects.  If you are an avid stamper this is also great for you as all the guess work is done and you can recreate the project using your colour choices but follow the templates shown!  If you are in my downline these are FREE for you as a thank you for being in my team (if you've ever thought of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator this is just one of the perks!)

NURSERY NECESSITIES CLASS PLANNER AND CLASS

Who doesn't LOVE making baby gifts?  I want to have yet another child just so I can make a memory tin for myself!!!    This would make a perfect baby shower gift or newborn gift or even a "just announced" your pregnant gift!  Really this would be perfect for any baby on any occasion!  All supplies are Stampin' Up! except for the paint can that you can pick up at any local paint store and the 2 magnets used on the tin.

This front decoration is actually meant to act as a picture frame magnet!  A 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inch photo slides in here and can be interchanged.  When you take this off the tin, the top embellishment can then be placed on the front of the tin.  Neat eh???

Inside the tin are 5 corresponding cards that could be used either as a birth announcement or a thank you card.  They are simply wrapped in ribbon to hold together.  There is also a year long brag book.

This is the baby brag book.  It is made using the 6x6 scrapbook pages....intrigued?  Again it matches the tin and the cards.

There are 12 pages on the inside of this book, one for each month starting from the beginning until a year.  These pages are meant to hold a photo on the back side of each "information" page.  The pockets would also be great for holding doctor information or little jot notes as time progresses.  At the end of a year you will have a book with at least 12 photos, month by month, and all the stats for the baby!  FUN!!!!  Included in this planner are also the PDF files to create these pages.

One more ribbon trick and upcoming classes!

This is the last class I made for the Spring Fling on the weekend.  Recognize the ribbon?  It's the double stitched In Colour ribbon minus the white stitching!  How'd I do that?  Simple, just pull it out and you get this muted ribbon that looks like you spent hours paper piercing the edges!  FUN!

Quick Post

This is a quick card I made using the Always stamp set.  The top of the card actually has vellum on it, sorry it's tough to see in the photo.  I love this set....it's perfect for so many occasions.  The ribbon technique here is yes, none other than embossing on ribbon!!!  How fun!  You don't need to use an embossing buddy or anything, just versamark, stamp, emboss and you're good to go!

Other: Old Olive Grosgrain, Ice Brads, vellum, paper piercing

Happy Birthday Ribbon....Part 3

Happy Birthday from all of us!  I'm sure by now you realize how much I love this stamp set....All in the Family!  This is my family (OK, last week when we were having summer weather....I don't have any snowsuits to put on the people for this week so this will have to do)  Back to the card.....

Recipe:

Stamps: All in the Family, Family Phrases, Sanded

Colours: Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa

Other: Blue Taffeta Ribbon, Large and Small star punches, Vintage brads, markers and aqua painter

For this ribbon technique I simply stamped on the ribbon using Close to Cocoa ink.  You get a much crisper image if you use craft or staz on BUT I wanted it to be brown so I just used regular ink.  It also dries instantly which is great!  Have a great day.

Shabby Chic Ribbon....Part 2

I have to say that I'm loving the "new" shabby chic look that is starting to appear a lot in paper crafting.  It's a bit out of my comfort zone but I saw a card on cruise that I fell in love with so this is a bit of a CASE on that one.

Recipe:

Colours: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive

Stamps: French Script (retired....I know, I'm sorry!), Birthday Greetings, Bodacious Bouquet

Others: Fire Brads, Oval Punch, Chunky glitter, Regal Rose 5/8 Grosgrain Ribbon

Ribbon Tutorial.....how did I do that????  Watch and see!  There is an easy end and a hard end to fraying the ribbon.  The first few pictures are the easy way!

Step #1:  Using a paper piercer find the loose end of your ribbon.

  Step #2:  When you pull on this loose end it will naturally start to fray the ribbon (if it isn't, you started with the tough end!) 

Step #3: To get the hard end to fray you need to use your paper piercer and pull out each horizontal stictch and break it with the piercer.  You end up with a lot of loose ends that need to be cut.  You need to be patient with this end but it will work and you can have it look like the sample in no time!

Fun with Ribbon...Part 1

OK, first I have to say THANKYOU!!!!  I had such an AMAZING day yesterday at Spring Fling!  Thank you Alicia for hosting and putting so much time, thought and effort into such a spectacular day!  Thank you to Karen and Dawn for being so inspiring and giving with your thoughts and ideas.  And thank you to each and everyone of you that attended...you made the day so great!  I LOVED meeting you and putting faces to names (like Joanne!!!!)  You helped make a tough week better, thank you. 

I did a demonstration table at the event and I shared some "neat" things you can do with ribbon.  Here are two of the ideas shared.

The first is using the White Grosgrain ribbon, I simply coloured the edge of the ribbon using my Close to Cocoa journaler....quick, easy and adds a little somethin' somethin' to the card....don't you think?

The second trick is the mane on the giraffe.  I cut the long edge of the gingham ribbon off using my paper snips then I frayed the ribbon by pulling out the long woven strips of thread.  This frays the ribbon and then I attached it with my two way glue pen....FUN!!!(Okay, that was one LONG run on sentence!!!)

Other: Blue Gingham, White Grosgrain, Hodgepodge, sponging, Close to Cocoa marker, Bashful Blue marker, Dimensionals

One Layout....Three Cards (and a treat!)

This layout is actually inspired by Beate's weekend sketch challenge.  I liked the idea of using a variety of scrapbook papers to make a card.

On the inside of the card we made one of the book marks shown earlier this week.  I didn't have a Chapters gift card so I used Adam's Teaching Card but you get the idea!!!  Isn't that sweet?  The Old Olive cardstock is simply a scrap of paper with adhesive on three sides.

This is another card, same layout but different card! 

Recipe:

Colours: So Saffron, Sage Shadow, Pretty in Pink

Stamps: from the punch kit in the current catalogue.  I held off all year thinking I'd just buy it next year if it comes out in a punch and I just couldn't wait ANY longer, I just HAD to have it!  (ever have that happen:)

Other: Soft Subtle Brads, White Gel Pen, Spring Fling DSP

This last card is quite pretty....not mu usual style but I'm happy with it.  It uses Rock n Roll on the flower top with the Afternoon Tea DSP from the Spring mini.

Wedding Day

Here is another page created with an 8x10 photo and a Simply Scrappin kit.  The colours in this photo and the scrappin kit make this a stunning page!  The colours just work so well!  This page took about 5 minutes to put together (if that!!!)  The photo is mounted on Kraft 10 1/4 x 8 1/4 and then the borders, flowers and words are all adhesives from the kit!  These kits make scrapping SO easy and BEAUTIFUL!  Have a great day!

To Love Life

What a fun day!  Laura and Sonia came over to help with the final details for the McEachren fundraiser on Friday night and we managed to squeeze in some scrapbooking.  Don't you just LOVE the Summer Days Simply Scrappin Kit????  These pages came together in just minutes!  The page on the left has an 8x10 on it which I don't often use but think I will start using them more often.

  Here is a close up of the first page.  All the adhesives are in the kit, including the title that says "Where there is LOVE there is LIFE."  Even with all of these swirls and flowers there are still a TON left in the kit!  Isn't that the great thing about these kits....they never end!

The second page was totally inspired by Sonia.  Check out the square on the bottom left corner......it's a bunch of the long border strips cut together to make this pattern!  Isn't that fun????

Book Worm

Happy Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Yet another great idea from my downline Martha....I'm telling you, she's a creative genius!!!  I thought I'd do a quick little tutorial today on the Book Worm.

This is a sweet little book mark that slides over the corner of your page.  It would be super cute to make and give stuck on a Chapters gift card inside someone's birthday card!  (hint, hint...kidding!)

Supplies Needed:  1 envelope (sealed), word window punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, Crystal Effects, small font alphabet (I used my Bold Alphabet which is retired), scrapbook paper (2x2 square), Bugs and Kisses stamp set, Creamy Caramel Ink, Basic Black ink

Measure 2 inches from each corner of your envelope and mark with a small line.  I drew arrows so you could see it easier but you don't need to make markings this large.

Using your paper cutter, cut from one two inch marking to the opposite marking on the other side of the vertex.  You are cutting all four corners off of your envelope.  One envelope will make 4 bookmarks.  You could make your own from scrapbook paper or cardstock but using an envelope is nice as the pocket is already made for you.

Make sure that your two edges are completely sealed.  When you cut the top of the envelope, depending on where the seal is will depend on whether this will stay shut.  If it isn't, simply apply a bit of adhesive to hold the flap down. 

Cut a 2x2 piece of scrapbook paper.  The cut this paper on the diagonal which will create two triangles the same size as your envelope corners.  Adhere to the envelope corners.

Stamp the worm from Bugs and Kisses on Whisper White cardstock with Creamy Caramel.  Cut out one full worm and the shown part on the other.

Stamp the word book with your alphabet in Basic Black on your 1 1/4 inch white circle.

Now assemble!  I used Crystal Effects to hold the eyes on.  Have fun with these!  Wouldn't they make a cute kids craft or little extra when you buy a friend a book....or for the ladies in your book club......thanks Martha!

As a nurturing organization Big Sisters of London provides girls who need a role model with a sincere and caring older female who guides the girls in a direction of healthy decisions and self confidence.  This is a fantastic program that benefits so many girls within our own communities.   I am very excited to be participating in an event that will help raise money for such a great organization.  Big Sisters are welcome to bring their Little Sisters to this event and create these wonderful projects together!

What are we making?  Each person that attends this event will make a 5x5 scrapbook perfect to share your special moments with a special person (this is great for a Big Sister and Little Sister, a friend or a loved one).  This will take about an hour and a half to create.  Then we will break for cookies, coffee and tea.  We will then make 4 cards (2 each of 2 patterns).  Each person that attends will also leave with a stamp set, 2 ink spots, a craft keeper and left over supplies!

Cost: $55 (the local demonstrators that are participating in this fundraiser will be donating $10 from every sale to our local Big Sisters Organization)

On a bit of a personal note, I just wanted to thank everyone that has responded so positively to my Class Planners!  I am very excited to be offering them (and will have another one out tomorrow for you to see!)  I hope you had a fantastic weekend!  Ours was busy, but great!  My taxes are almost done (even on time!) and we got to check out Sharon creek today!  My kids were SO thrilled!  Check out the toads Mark caught!  It's definately their mating season, you could hear them and see them.  It was really nutty since 2 weeks aga when we were at Sharon Creek there was NOTHING in the pond (that we could see).  Today you couldn't take a step without seeing toads and frogs!  (Julie....tell me why?!?!)

Life's a Breeze Box

What a fabulous morning we have here!  It's BEAUTIFUL outside, the sun is shining, I've got my kids' class and a family gathering later today...can't wait!  I wanted to take a moment to thank you so much for the overwhelming support I've received in less than 24 hours with my new venture of CLASS PLANNERS.  I had to laugh at Daphne that emailed me this: "Uh hello....not a demo....want your class!  And oh yeah, I'm going to make 50 of those!"  Thanks again, I really appreciate it and look forward to creating more!

It's Up!!!

I am SO excited to announce my addition to my blog!  I am now offering all of my class planners in one convenient location using Pay Pal that will accept VISA and MC!!!!  I am SO EXCITED!!!!  This is going to make my life and hopefully your's a lot easier!!!  What is a class planner you ask?

Well, it is a complete list of instruction and supplies for making my classes/projects.  My new format includes step-by-step photographs on how to complete a project as well as written instructions.  What comes with a class planner?  Detailed step by step instructions for each project, supply lists, dimensions, written instructions AND class handouts.  I am also giving the rights for you to use my photographs to advertise your class on your blog, or in your newsletters!

Stinky Flamigos

Do you know how stinky flamigos are?  Well I didn't until we went to see them at the zoo in Bermuda....WOWSERS, it STUNK!  Okay, on with the page!

This is another double page layout we did this month with my scrappers group.  Unfortunately the group didn't get to do their page on the scrapbook paper, but it was neat to show a page done fully on scrapbook paper!  Their pages were done on Ruby Red.  These are some photos from our trip to the zoo!  Again, Emma is full of smiles!!!  I've included each single page so you can see the details.

Not only did I use the scrapbook paper I also added some stamping to the corners using the swirls from Priceless.  I have to say that although it's super ubberly busy I really like this page.  I couldn't have a book full of pages like this but I don't mind them once in a while.

This is one of my pages I did this month at my scrappers 6 club.  It was a little out of the norm for us but I am really happy with the final product.  We did journaling and doodling with the black SU marker.

Owl Together Now

This is the card that I did at my downline meeting on Thursday night.  It uses the super cute new set from Stampin' Up! that we got on cruise!  Isn't it the sweetest....guess whoo loves you???

OK, so we made a shaker card using the think cardboard that comes in the back of the scrapbook paper packs you can buy.  I cut two pieces that are 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches.  We then punched out the key tag in one of the layers, then lined up the second piece on top and punched out a tag on this layer.  The we glued these two layers together REALLY well all around the opening edges.

The card is almost all assembled before you add teh beads.  The layers are all on the card and the owl image is stamped, coloured and attached to the card front.  You then attach the cardboard layers to the owl.  This makes a little "dish".  Then you sprinkle in the beads (not very many).  Then you glue the acetate on top (making sure you have adhesive around all edges.  Then you adhere the scrapbook paper and you have a shaker!  Very fun and easy (OK, if you practice a few time!)  Hope you're enjoying the weekend!

I am so excited to still be making these as I've got a ton of cruise photos and pages to scrap!!!!  I thought I'd TRY and scrapbook them in order....I'm sure it won't happen but hey, I'm starting at the beginning!  This page is Emma when we walked in our room!  She was absolutely thrilled and excited!  I think I may add a little sub title near the second circle saying "WOW"  What do you think???

Spring Fling

I am very excited that I am able to offer this to you!!!!  Remember a while back I posted about a Spring Fling event being hosted here in London with 150 demonstrators????  Well, there are a few tickets left and I am able to offer them to my customers!!!!  This is going to be a fantastic day!

Downline Thank You

I had a downline meeting tonight (thanks ladies for coming....we missed those of you that couldn't make it!!!!)  Not to worry, you'll get a card and one of these necklace (just not the chocolate lava cake!)  I made one of these for each of my FANTASIC ladies!  It's quite simple, you need a washer, a rub on, some black hemp and a bead from the Pretties kit.  Nothing too fancy but you can make some super fun looking charms with this. Martha had a great idea too....use Staz On ink!

Father's Day Class....or simply for someone else you love!

Intrigued?????  Thought I'd give you a little bit more of a tease for this class!!!

We will be making a chip board album that when finished measures 12 x 3.  The night of the class you will create and assemble the book.  It will be ready for you to take home and finish off by including photos and your own journaling.  This sample is currently "naked" but for the class and the photos for you to use as reference they will include photos and journaling.

Details: We are making a 6 page chipboard album that is a finished size of 12x3.  Each page is a different length as you can see the numbers that rest on each page when the book is closed.  You can pick which scrapbook paper you would like to use for this album (Spring Break is the one shown here)

One Layout....Four Cards

It's that time again....Stampers 6!  The theme for this club is ONE LAYOUT....4 cards!  I thought I'd do somewhat monochromatic colour combinations for these cards this month with a WOW colour contrast.  I love this layout, it's simple, clean and quick!  It also works with virtually any stamp set!

Recipe:

Colours: Barely Banana, So Saffron, Bashful Blue

Stamps: By Ones and By Twos (from the current mini catalogue)

Other: Bashful Blue Striped Grosgrain, corner rounder, dimensionals, Barely Banana and Bashful Blue markers, So Saffron DSP

To make this card I stamped the onesie image on the bashful blue square and then on white paper.  I coloured the white image then cut it out and popped it up!  Wouldn't this make a sweet shower invitation or thank you?  OR, a birth announcement and you could monogram the onesie!!!!

This card is also super cute using the apple from the same set and it would make a really cute teacher thank you card.  I did the strawberry in my class though as I wanted to show it chocolate dipped.  I coloured the actual stamp with the markers and then where I coloured the chocolate chip I covered it in the Crystal Effects.  The Old Olive layer and the strawberry are both popped up.

I like the colours on this card, very springy.....a reflection of outside!  I have to say today I felt like I was back in Bermuda!  (either it's warm here or not very there:)

This card was super easy to make, the extra little border along the top is one of the stamps included in this stamp set.

For this card we did a little rock'n'roll!  We first stamped the images in the Soft Sky ink and then directly went to the Blue Bayou ink and inked up the edges of the stamps by rolling around the stamp on the outside edge, this picks up the ink and VOILA you get this fun multi coloured look!  Hope you enjoy the snowflurries on my blog because we better now see any more outside!!!!

UPDATE:  My next kids class is going to be on Saturday, April 19 from 9:30 - 11.  We are going to stamp on clothes!!!!  Please send your daughter with a pair of pants you are okay with having crafted!!!  I am also providing everyone with a tshirt and we will go a stampin!!!!  I think we'll have to make a piece of jewelry to match as well.....OH THIS WILL BE FUN!!!!  The cost of this class is $15 and the kids just need to bring a pair of pants.  Please email me at [email protected] if you're interested in coming!  I will limit this class to 10 and so far there are 7 spots left!

So how fun is that?????  Don't you just think this is the CUTEST???  No, this is not someone's behind, I'm talking about the stamping on the pocket of the jeans!  It's STAMPED!!!!  This was shown in the general session on cruise and I just can't wait to do this with a kids class!  This is a new stamp image and to get this crisp and vibrant image on the jeans you use fabric paint.  A stamp-a-ma-jig is also needed as you stamp this image three or four times on the pocket, reapplying paint each time.  Also, check out the bling on the pocket top.....yes, that's right, ice brads!!!!  HOW FUN!!!!  They also stamped on the bottom of the jeans and it just looked darling (yes, I used the word darling but truly it describes how cute they were!!!)  Hope you're having a great spring day....back to laundry I go!
