Sunday Sketch Challenge #14

Happy Sunday to you!  I am excited to have my Sunday Sketch Challenge for you!  I am excited to see I had some new contributors to my sketch last week, thank you!  I'm always grateful for the regulars as well.

 Here is my take on the sketch this week.  I used Night of Navy, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, Whisper White and Travel Journal DSP.  Hope you like it!

The stamping is collage stamping which means it is completely random in an assortment of ink colours.  For this I used Bashful Blue, Night of Navy and Pumpkin Pie.  Recognize the corner punch?  It's the ticket punch that I haven't used in a million years...why not?  It just adds that extra little pow sometimes!

 The stamps are Sentimental Journey and Extreme Elements.  Extreme Elements is one of the sets that is in the Stampin' Up! special this month!  If you purchase this set you can select a package of brads free(four selections to choose from)!  How fun is that?  I have to give my friend, Barb, credit for the fun layout on the greeting. I love how she layers lots of punches on her greetings!  Thanks for the idea!

Simply Sunday Sketch #13 and Updates Galore!

 Happy Sunday to you!  Well, it's been busy week around here!  I thank you for stopping by on this wonderful holiday weekend!  Ours has been lovely, with Emma's birthday celebrations and the planning of exciting Stamping events!  I'm just so thrilled it's only half done as we have today and then of course holiday Monday!  Yippeee!

 If you ordered a Flip Flop album, I received the Simply Scrappin' Kits from Stampin' Up! on Thursday and Friday.  I have them all cut out and am just in the process of assembling them.  With the long weekend, they won't get shipped until Tuesday morning.  I will email you confirmation of this as well as the PDF!

I've had a few questions about my MDS class.  If you're in the London area and you'd like a hands on class on MDS all are welcome.  You do NOT need to own MDS to come.  The program will be loaded on the computers for you and all you need is a little imagination, a pen and paper for the event! If you need to arrive a few minutes late, that is not an issue.  I know a few of you are thinking of coming from the Hamilton area and may be a bit late, but I'm still happy to have you.  So, grab a friend, a cup of Joe and come on down:)   Yes, there are still spots available if you'd like to come!  

Alright, this week's sketch was inspired by my downline, Christine's card at my shoebox swap team meeting. I loved the colours on this card as well as the layout!  I hope you do too!  I am excited to have you play along!  Thank you to the lovely ladies that created cards last week!  I did check out each of your blogs with the intention of returning and adding comments. Simply Sunday Sketch #11

 This week's challenge is a fun one. I was actually inspired by the comments you guys left on my blog after making a card last week and from a card on Teneale William's blog.  (her stuff is super fun and worth checking out:)  I hope you have fun with it!  I am getting back tonight from our amazing holiday, so I'll get a random winner from last week's sketch and hopefully post my new sample of this card.  In the meantime, I'd love to see what you come up with!  Thanks for being you and for playing along!  Have a great day!  Can't wait to see your samples!

Simply Sunday Sketch #10

 How fun!  We are onto the tenth week of this challenge and am enjoying this, I hope you are too!  I did receive a few pictures this week from those that don't have a website.  I'll try and showcase them next weekend for you(ran out of time getting this post done:)  Thank you to all those that play along with the sketch!

This one is a fun sketch and I love how some of my downline have completely switched it up!  Please feel free to check out the links of those that do my weekend sketch and let them know what you think!

 For my take on this week's challenge, I used the Sweet Pea paper!  Only one week left of this WONDERFUL paper!  If you haven't stocked up, remember the current mini catalogue is ONLY available until this coming Friday!  I KNOW!  There are some amazingly yummy products in this mini....epoxy brads, sweet pea felt, sweet pea paper....Fox and Friends!!!  Sorry, can you tell I'm sad:)

Back to the card...  I used So Saffron, Taken with Teal and Chocolate Chip accents.  The DSP is all the Sweet Pea paper.  I ran the paper through my Chocolate Chip ink pad to darken the edges (fun, eh!)

Do you notice the yellow accents behind the brads...yes, those are new punches in the coming mini!

Simply Sunday Sketch #9

 Happy Sunday to you!  I hope you've had a great weekend so far!  Well, it's two Saturdays in a row I haven't even been online!  WOW, crazy, eh?  We had a GREAT day at the Provincial Wrestling Championships!  Emma and Mark had a very successful day and it was a great way to end the season.

 Today's sketch challenge is both a layout AND I also used the colour challenge I gave my team this week.  This week's colours are Only Orange, Tempting Turquoise and Chocolate Chip.  I used Nathan's blanket as my colour inspiration for this week (although the blanket also has a bit of Summer Sun in it as well...so feel free to add that!)  I'd love for you to link to my blog either using the sketch, the colour challenge OR both!

 My card today uses a new stamp set that is coming out in May (unless of course you're a demonstrator and you pre-ordered this FABULOUS set!)  This card uses all stamps from this set, including the fun horizontal border stamp...isn't that fun?

 I popped up the tricycle on this card front with Dimensionals as well.  The little border on the left of the squares is also stamped in the matching border stamp.  Part of the challenge I gave to my downline was to use a different punch to create an "edge".  Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Simply Sunday Sketch #8

 My card today really is taken from this sketch.  I know, it really looks nothing like the sketch but I wanted to show that a sketch is a starting point.  I am thrilled with my final card and think it resembles the sketch:)  I am excited to see what you come up with for this card!  

 AND the thing I love about this card is it's a little bit of old with a little bit of new.  The stamp set is NEW and coming in the summer mini (fun, eh?) and the DSP is old BUT can be ordered on the Clearance Rack!  How fun is that???  Hope you like it!!!

Simply Sunday Sketch Challenge #5

 Thanks for checking back today.  I have a sketch challenge for you today!  I am SO impressed with my downline's creations!  They are so uberliciously creative and I learn so much from my Simply Stars Team!

 This first card is made my Martha.  Check out the details she added to the branch....not just a stamped branch.  I'm guessing she inked it in Certainly Celery ink and then markered the edge of the stamp in Old Olive.  The black brads add so much to the card as well!  Hope you like it!

   This second card is from Jodie!  She is so fun and loves the stamp set Circle Circus.  She definitely inspires me to use this set as her cards are beautiful with this set!  Great colour combination as well!  Thanks Jodie!

 This last card is from my second level downline Lisa.  Isn't it great!  I love how she used the Sweet Pea DSP and added dimension with the super fun brads!  Thanks for playing along!

Sunday Sketch Challenge #4

 Let me start today's post by thanking all of you for participating in the sketch challenge last week!  I love to have ALL of you participate!  You are welcome to use ANY product on your cards and you can link to a personal site or splitcoaststampers.  Feel free to play along!

I'd like to congratulate Viv Sawyer!  You were the random winner of last week's sketch!  If you can send me your mailing address I've got a special thank you for you!  

 In the meantime, I just want to share a few of the cards created by two of my girls on my team.  This first card is made by Martha.  I love how she combined our colour challenge and design challenge to make this card.  The colour challenge was to use Old Olive, Pink Passion and Basic Black.  Isn't this card YUMMY?  I'm taking a guess here, but I'd have to say this is one of Martha's favourite sets as she has made so many beautiful cards with Always:)

 This next card was created by Jodie.  Again she combined the layout with the colour challenge.  I have to say, this card completely makes me think spring (unlike the HORRIBLE weather we are having outside right now....cold and windy!)  I love how she grounded the brads on the punched out coloured circles.  It's amazing when something so minor can make such a difference!

Simply Sunday Sketch Challenge #3

 Happy Sunday to you!  I hope you had a great day!  We had a lot of fun at Day 2 of the cheer competition!  The girls did an amazing job (I'm the proud mom:)  

I'm having a lot of fun making these Sunday Sketches and thank you so much for participating!  I know some of you don't have a site, but if you post photos to Splitcoaststampers, I can link there as well.  You don't have to have a blog or a website to enjoy this challenge.  Feel free to link to my site if you do this challenge this week:)

 This is the sketch for this week.  You can see that my interpretation of the sketch is very different than what is drawn.  But that's the idea of a sketch.  Lots of fun!

This card is Barely Banana, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink.  I had fun making a spring felt card.  The butterflies are done with the hand punch and then I used the Sorbet Buttons for the butterfly body.  I threaded the button with linen thread and left the ends to look like the antennae on the butterfly.  Hope you like it!

Two of my downline Anne and Jodie have already participated in this challenge so I've included their links and photos on my site today.  This one is Anne's card.  Isn't it sweet?  I love the colours on this card.  I love how Anne used the markers on the stamp for this image.  And isn't the fire brad perfect?  

 Jodie's card used my downline's colour challenge for this sketch.  The colour was Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry and Whisper White.  I love what Jodie did!  The cord button is super yummy and I like how she used the punched circle to add a "base" to the button.

Simply Sunday Sketch Challenge #2

 
  

Happy Sunday to you!  I hope that all is well and that you've enjoyed some stamping time this weekend!  This week's challenge was a lot of fun for me!  It actually is a case from a one of my favourite cards that I have created.  I spent some time the other day reminiscing and going through past posts on my blog and came across this card.  It really made me happy (as well as the recipient).  When going through my blog, I had a lot of fun reading about some past memories and have decided I want to try and print off my blog.  Anyone know if it can be done?  Wouldn't it be amazing to print it off in an MDS book? I'd love feedback:)

Thank you to each of you that participated in last week's sketch challenge!  I am thrilled to have so many of you participate, thank you!  Lisa Bryan, you were the winner of my first Sunday Sketch Challenge!  Please fire me off your address so I can send you a little stamped something!

 Like last week, I don't want to restrict you by giving you dimensions for a card.  The purpose of the sketch is to give you a starting place.  As you can see, my card resembles the sketch, but I changed it to make the card "work".  I can't wait to see what you can create with this idea!
