Enchantment DSP.....

is gorgeous!  Can you believe it, another "real" scrapbook page!  I just love this paper and have been using it a ton and thought it would look great displayed on a scrapbook page!  Now, I may recreate this page in MDS as well so I have it in my bound family scrapbook, but in the meantime it'll look great in a frame here in my studio.

I used the stamp set Elementary Elegance (the key and crown) as a little extra pop on the page.  This page truly came together in a matter of minutes!  I hope you like it!!!

Here is a close up of the title for you.  I really need to use this alphabet set a little more often, and on my cards too.  It's so sweet.

A "real" scrapbook page? What?

GUESS WHAT.....breath, breath, breath!  Today is not only My Digital Studio Download day BUT it's also the beginning of Sale-a-bration!  How awesome is that!?!?!

OK....so when was the last time you saw a "real" scrapbook page on my blog!  It felt AMAZING to create a traditional scrapbook page and I have to say I'm thrilled with the result.  These are photos from Cole's second birthday...aren't they ADORABLE?!?!?  I had fun using the Brights Designer Paper Pack with the corresponding ink colour using the new Sale-a-bration stamp set!  (by the way are you excited about this year's Sale-a-bration!?!?!)

My Girl is 10!

 Where does the time go?  Can you believe it, Emma is 10 years old today!  I can't even begin to tell you how amazing my life has been in the past 10 years!  And through all of this Emma continues to grow.  I thought I'd be sad with her turning 10, but I'm the exact opposite (and no it isn't because she's getting closer to moving out:)  I am so thrilled with the person that Emma is becoming and really enjoy watching her grow and develop into a wonderful young lady.  I am excited to share in her 10th birthday with her!

Today's MDS page is from the Track and Field meet at my kids school just the other day.  It was a very successful day for Emma, and despite the heat she had a blast!  (although check out the one photo and you'll see she is almost falling asleep).  I will be back again this afternoon with a post for you!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I think I may start calling these MDS posts, my MDS morning:)  Hope you enjoy!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Christmas Jingle....Simply Scrappin Planner!

I'm so sorry!  It has been a while since I have posted my Simply Scrappin' Planners!  I do them once a month with my clubs and for some reason have forgotten to post them!  Anyhow, I thought I'd share with you one of the nine pages included in this month's Simply Scrappin' Planner...Christmas Jingle!  REmember, that when I do these kits, I have 4 double page layouts and one single (this is the left side of a double page layout) 

Oh a side note, isn't Chubbs, AKA Nathan just too cute here?!?!  Where has the time gone????

How the planner works, you will receive a PDF with a detailed chart with exact dimensions for all cardstock, DSP and photos.  You then have a photo of each page with any specific instructions.   This is a perfect way to get a class prepared quickly or to whip off 9 pages in no time (ask my girls, they were here for about an hour!) to help finish off some of those scrapbook memories!!!

Be honest...

Now, I have to ask before I swarm you with tons of My Digital Studio.  Is this something you'd like to see on my blog?  I'd love to know....if yes, how often and if no, my feelings aren't hurt!!!  I am so excited to say that I designed my scrapbooking club using the Christmas Jingle kit on the My Digital Studio first, then made the class and am SO happy!  I will share with you another day!  So, even if digital isn't your thing, maybe a layout or colour combination would make you happy!  Anyhow, I'd love to know your thoughts!

This is a page I did on Sunday.  I created the layout and template for this page from scratch and it took me about 20 minutes.  The greatest thing to this program is I can continually switch up the colours with a push of a button.  I wanted the page originally to be Basic Gray but as I got working, I realized I needed a brighter colour, and voila, this page was born!

This is Mark in the local parade from this past weekend with a few of his little friends.  They had so much fun throwing out the candy and walking the streets (his words!)  The colours are Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise adn Kiwi Kiss.  Don't you just love the way the buttons and brads cast a shadow on the page adn look so real?  The other thing I love....instant titles!  This is where I lack in normal scrapbooking...titles and journaling sometimes get left behind.  Anyhow, hope you have a great day!

I'm in LOVE with MDS!

I love My Digital Studio!!!  How sweet is this????  This page took me about 15 minutes and I LOVE it!  This is one of my favourite pictures I've taken.  It was a while ago (Nathan was about a year old) and we were just hanging out in the kitchen.  I started going nutty with the camera and ended up with this. 

So, I wanted to do a page with only this photo on it.  I decided to design the page in My Digital Studio and now later this week I am going to make it with paper and stamps!  Isn't that a fun function of this program....design it and then make it!!!  Can't wait!  Once I get the paper copy done, I'll share that with you.

The colour is Kraft, with a muted (or stamped off Soft Suede) and some Basic Black (also stamped off).  The stamp set is from Friends 24-7 and then the larger one I'll be able to stencil!!!  I can't wait!!!  Hope you have a great day!

Last of the Halloween Pages for my wall

I thought I'd share with you the last of the series of three scrapbook pages you'll see in my frames for the upcoming season.  I love this page!  All the details are hard to see, but IRL (I just learned that means In Real Life...I am so not a computer junkie!) I LOVE this page!!!

There are the Halloween Rub Ons (the greeting, the swirls coming out from the greetings and the crows).  Then I stamped the From the Crypt image in Basic Black on the DSP above and below the photos.  The edges are all distressed and sponged with black.  There is paper piercing and distressing on the right border as well!  And of course the paper is Cast-a-Spell and the colours are Perfect Plum, Basic Black and Old Olive!

Another Halloween Page

This is a second page that will go up in my craft room (starting September 8th:)  I've decided I will put out one new item a day to prepare for Halloween.  Now, for example, there will be three pages on the wall for Halloween, so I'll do all three in one day and then nothing for two days....crazy eh???  I know, I know, I'm over the top....kidding!!!  I thought this would make for a happy compromise!!!!  I'll keep you posted on what's going up:)

This page will be in the middle as it doesn't have any Perfect Plum on it (the other two do, and also have the Olive)  Anyhow, this is my sweet little Nathan almost a year ago!!!  Where has the time gone?  He was the horse on our ranch!  This makes me want to move south, buy some kickin' cowgirl boots and ride off into the sunset (does that really happen, because it sure sounds lovely!)

The DSP is the Cast-a-Spell, which is inspiring the colour choices for my Halloween decor this year.  The rub ons are the Halloween ones in the catalogue.  You know what's great about them?  They have multiples of all of the rub ons so you can use the same image on lots of things....LOVE this!  AND I can demonstrate them at a class with YOU and we can all use the same rub on!!! 

Anyhow, hope you enjoyed the photos of my little chubster!  Will be back tomorrow (hopefully with a video!!!)   Off to get ready for my workshop!

I appologize for being a day late in posting this, but you guys CRACK me up!  I LOVED reading ALL the posts about WHEN Halloween should start in my house!  I can't say there was a definate winner on this one!!!!  Some of you say after Labour Day, others as late as after Thanksgiving (remember here in Canada we have an earlier Thanksgiving!)  The winner from my blog post is:

There is nothing wrong with decorating in Sept. for Halloween. I put my stuff out right after Labor Day and then the kids can enjoy it longer. Then on Nov. 1 or sometimes after the Trick or Treaters are gone I pull out the Christmas Tree and get them all set up and start decorating for Christmas on Nov. 1. Since you are due I would say this year get your stuff out and done early just in case this one decides to come early!

Well, I've decided to just start slowly but WATCH out cause once these munckins are back to school and I'm on top of my classes, my wheels are a turning!!!!  In the meantime, I thought I'd share with you one of the scrapbook pages that will be going in my stamp room for the Halloween season.

The colour theme for me this Halloween is Perfect Plum, Old Olive, Certainly Celery and Basic Black!  For this page I used the Halloween Rub Ons, the stamp set From the Crypt, and the Cast a Spell DSP.  Hope you like it!

Sleepless Night.....self induced that is!

Ever have those nights....can't sleep, can't sleep, can't sleep because you have a crafting idea on your mind????  Well, this was me last night!  I was uploading my video to Simply Babies and actually took some time to blog hop (happens VERY rarely!)  I came across this WONDERFUL blog from my friend Nancy's site.  Travelling Mama has a lot of BEAUTIFUL creations on her blog so grab a coffee and check it out!

I fell in love with her July Calendar, I thought it was such a perfect idea, a pretty piece of work to have on display and fairly easy to create.  So my next thought was....hey, I just ordered a ton of new DSP can't wait to make one.....then laying in bed the paper crafting demons came out and said...you can't wait, your stuff won't be here until next week!!!!  SO, I gave into the powers and thought for July only I'll used retired DSP and rub ons (to use up some stash:)  Anyhow, the long and the short of it is....here's my creation!  Hope you like it!!!!  Have a wonderful Monday!

Waiting....with anticipation

PUNCH BOOK UPDATE:  Well, I'm still on track and VERY happy!!!  The punch books will be shipped out on Wednesday.  I will have some extra books available for purchase and will have these on my blog either Wednesday or Thursday once I hear back from a few people.  I have also decided to sell the PDF of the creations that are NOT in any of my Simply Punches classes as a separate document.  The money raised from this PDF will be donated to our local food bank and will go on sale on Wednesday of this week.  Thanks so much for asking!

Well, many of you weren't sure if you were reading it correctly.  BUT yes, we are expecting number four this fall.  I figured you'd figure out soon enough (beyond the obvious should you see me in person) but I am starting to prepare and scrapbook.  Because my brother is due and I am expecting I figured running the Simply Babies class was an obvious and "needed" class.  I can't wait to show you some of the projects I have coming up for this one....thanks to all of you that have already signed up!  This class begins July 1st.

This scrapbook page has a little bit of a sneak peek on it for you.  Isn't the DSP just so CUTE???  LOVE the little elephants!  And how appropriate for this page of the little munchkin? 

I have the little scallop envelopes on the page for my hidden journaling.  I am going to have Adam, Emma and Mark (and I already did) write a little message to the baby for future reference.  How sweet will that be to look back on?  And to keep the envelopes shut, I used my 2 Way Glue pen....yes, 2 way means 2 ways to use it!!!  It can be permanent (apply to paper and attach layers immediately) or temporary (apply to paper, let dry and then it acts like a sticky note!)

Here is a quick recipe for this page:

• 12 x 12 Chocolate Chip
• two 1/2  x 12 inch strips of DSP (the green that borders the title)
• 2 3/4 x 12 inch strip of DSP for the title
• Serif Alphabet for the Big Shot
• 5 3/4 x 12 So Saffron
• photos are 3 1/2 x 2 3/4 and mounted on Whisper White 3 5/8 x 2 7/8
• 1 inch x 12 strip of dotted DSP then scalloped and adhered under the So Saffron
• 2 1/2 x 12 inch strip of the elephant DSP
• Button Latte and Linen Thread (adhered with glue dots)
• Scallop Envelope for the Big Shot in Close to Cocoa

I realize my dimensions don't add up to 12 inches for my cardstock but it is on a 12x12 page.  I adjusted the widths of my layers as I was attaching them (making some layers smaller) to fit my photos.

More Scrapping and Punch Book Update

Happy Thursday to you!  I hope you are having a great week so far.  I wanted to give a quick update on the status of the punch books.  For those of you that have paid for your books, my goal is to have them shipped on June 24th.  I do appologize that this is 4 days later than my projected deadline.  However, with the 12x12 Whisper White cardstock on back order earlier this month, I am about 2 weeks behind schedule.  BUT I am pulling extra hours to try and get them out to you ASAP.  If this time frame does not work for you please email me privately and I will be happy to refund your money.  I will send out a personal email to you next week to let you know that your order has been shipped.  Thanks so much for your understanding and patience.

2 Sweet....Love the Simply Scrappin' Kits!

Thank you so much for the overwhelming emails and comments on yesterday's post.  I will for sure either do a video or a step by step for you in the next few days on how to make the sweet little creation, thanks!

I really love this Simply Scrappin Kit....2 Sweet!  The colours are really pretty and it has great embellishments included in the kit.  I love how the border strip can act as a title as well.

These photos are from Emma's 7th birthday (look how tiny Nathan was!)  For her family birthday we went for a hike and then had a picnic lunch.  So this summary of photos is of Emma, our day and of course the birthday celebrations!  I will add journaling on the "lined" pieces of DSP to reflect on the day as well.

Hope you are enjoying your week...you're halfway through:)  It's rainy and a bit dreary here, but sometimes these days are great and give us the "excuse" to stay in and stamp!  See you tomorrow!

The Big Dig

Last June Adam and many friends spent far too many weekends working on our back patio.  The best part was renting a little digger.  Mark was SO happy in the digger and "drivng" it with Adam and moving some dirt around.  I love the photos to the right of the biggest one, it shows Mark's true emotions and excitement!

This page was done using the Taste of Textiles 12x12 cardstock.  This Kraft sheet looks like it's corrugated.  The DSP is from the Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin' Kit and the carstock strips and ribbon are both Tangerine Tango.  I did a little bit of journaling on the curly label punch and hand wrote "the big" above DIG on my finished page.  DIG was done using the Serif Alphabet for my Big Shot.  I also randomly placed the eyelets on the page.

I had to do it!

That's right...I had to sew on a scrapbook page!  It was TOO Much fun!  I love the effect and am loving my Pixie machine!  (thanks again Annie P!)

This page was fairly quick and easy to put together.  I created the page on the Taste of Textile Kraft Paper (looks like it is corrogated paper).  The punch in the upper corner is the tag punch with a chocolate chip cord button.  I then stitched around the outside edge in brown thread.  The blue ribbon was then laid on the page and sewn on.  Then I attached the 5x7 photo (on a 5 1/8 x 7 1/8 mat)  Then I stiched on the dotted ribbon, attached the smaller photo and then used the rub ons from the level three hostess set to finish off the page.  Hope you like it!

Happy Scrapbooking Month!

I'm often asked what my favourite part of paper crafting is and I'm not sure I can answer that...beyond ALL of it!  I love to create and make 3D items, cards are quick and rewarding, but scrapbooking also has it's perks!  I wish I had more time to scrapbook, and wish that feelings of guild weren't always associated with it (like that I'm 5 years behind!) BUT the end result makes me so happy!  Anyhow, one of my May goals is to try and scrapbook a little more and maybe, just maybe, convert one or two of my readers to give it a try!!!!

This page was fun to make!  The colours are Night of Navy, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss.  I used a bunch of the cord buttons, and the so tweet chiboard with the Good Morning Sunshine DSP.  Hope you like it!

SHIPPING UPDATE:

SIMPLY PUNCHES DVDs - The final day for orders was Tuesday, the disks went in for copying later Wednesday afternoon and I am able to pick them up on Monday.  So, they will all be shipped on Tuesday.

CANADIAN RIBBON SHARE - Ribbon came today!!!  I'll be cutting this weekend and will ship by Tuesday.

What a week!  I knew going into the week it was going to be busy but WOW this was a REALLY busy one!  Good though!

For today's post I thought I'd share with you the first page of a double page layout for my scrapbooking club this month.  I just love this photo of Emma and Mark.  I am going to Sizzix out the title "SWEET" and then I've used the adhesive "perfection" from the kit.  We used the kit Sunshine Garden....love this one!  AND I am actually done scrapbooking this Easter (okay, not the five previous, but this year is done!)

Dirty Apple...strange title!

Good morning!  Hope you're having a great week!  I had so much fun making this page for you today!  Yesterday I was looking through some computer files and came across a ton of photos I haven't developed or scrapbooked!  I was so excited I got four pages of scrapbooking developed and started on that while Nathan had his nap (instead of cleaning, cooking, prepping.....oh well!)

These pictures were taken last summer in our backyard.  Emma had given Nathan a partially eaten apple (wasn't that kind of her?) and he would not put it down!  It was SO gross and SO dirty but he was SO happy!  He carried it around the yard for what seemed like hours!  Thankfully he's no worse for the wear!  Hope you like the page!

Tool Time

I told you a few weeks back I was just dying to scrapbook these funny pictures of Nathan.  They just crack me up everytime I look at them!  I am thrilled with the stamp set and am pleased with the final outcome of the page.

The colours I used are Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip.  The vertical border strip was done simply by stamping the images in Basic Brown on Vanilla and watercolouring in the tools.  The matching saw is at the bottom with the title "time" added to it.

The journaling I did on the computer on our regular cardstock.  The pumpkin and pacific papers are textured.  I love the new brads SU is offering....chocolate!!!  I can't believe I used five on the one page!!!!  I'm getting so much better at using my stuff!

The last part worth pointing out is the title.  I used the Big Shot and cut it out of cork!  How fun is that!?!?!

Today is a double post!  I have a card and video for you as well!  This is one of the cards I am making tonight in my sypathy card class.  I really like the stamp set Thoughts and Prayers.  There are some very nice sentiments and the tree and flower sprig are very elegant and pretty.

Scrapbook Page (pre videos!)

Well, I know you're waiting for the BIG fun announcement, but before I do that, I can't possibly go a day without having a created treasure to share!  AND, I need to give my non Canadian readers a reason to stop by! 

So, I thought I'd share with you a page I did using the Rock-a-Bye Boys Simply Scrappin Kit.  Not what you would expect, eh!?!?

I just love the colours in this kit and these pictues worked perfectly.  These photos were taken on a little walk we took with my 88 year old Grandma!!!  Isn't she just the cutest? 

Sorry I don't have  a video for this one either....this was made before I thought anyone would want to watch me scrapbook!

All Together Scrapbooking

I had a little bit of time over the weekend to try and get caught up (yeah right!) on some scrapbooking!  Well, now that you're done laughing, "I've got a new system!"  I am going to try my best to stay on top of scrapbooking from Christmas on.  When I'm caught up on this holiday season, then I can back track, until I get more photos developed.  We'll see how that goes!!!!

This page is made using Chocolate Chip, Riding Hood Red and Bashful Blue.  The "all" is from a Simply Scrappin' Kit and then the word together is stamped on the word window punched out DSP.  It is secured on with 2 SS brads. 

I have had one person ask me to shoot scrapbooking videos.  Does this interest you?
