Well, I'm sure like many of you, I had NO troubles finding a beautiful page to CASE from Pinterest! I'd love to know (actually, no I wouldn't) how many hours of my life I've spent on that silly site! Oh....for anyone that follows me, 95% of my pins are actually from Emma (I don't do nails, or fashion, or funny.....gotta love kids:)
My friend Erica Shaw is the queen of pinning great scrapbooking pages (among other things!). I found this page from her posts and knew I had to make one of my own. You'll notice I completely swapped out the papers, colours and embellishments BUT the general layout is the same. I will actually delete this photo and put in a picture from one of our winter outings from this coming year:)
Also, I wanted to share with you how I created the "half" chevon. It's quick and simple. Check out the video down below to see how you too can do this on an MDS creation of your own!

Happy Friday to you! Friday already!!! Here's hoping we go pick out our tree tonight (fingers crossed!) I am super excited to share TWO posts with you again today...both using My Digital Studio!
The first project are these little gems! Aren't they SO STINKIN CUTE??? I have seen these before, and actually made something similar I think about 7 years ago...but I painted them and didn't use fabric. It's funny how crafting goes in cycles!
For these little guys, I created the snowmen in My Digital studio and printed two per page (see the image to the right). I cut the paper to measure 5 3/4 x 5 1/2 (cut off the excess paper on the left side of the page). The rest of the assembly process is shown in the video for you! I had this fabric here for some other project I did but I will be making more using the Candy Cane Christmas fabric! Can't wait (will share those photos when I'm done them:)
As you can see on the image I created in MDS, I drew the smiles on with a Basic Black marker. The elements I used to create these little munchkins are:
Basic Black buttons (for buttons)
Heart punch filled with DSP
stitching
circle punch filled with Pink Pirouette and then I dropped a shadow
pennant punch filled with Pumpkin Pie
black brads for the eyes

Now I will apologize up front here that I have not done a very good job keeping track of who is participating this week. With the crazy weather south of us and back to school life has gotten in the way for some so please forgive me for having some of the links up:) I know you won't mind:)
My good friend Mandy set the theme this week! She is such a sweetheart and I really think she picked Halloween just for me! NO, not really...it's because there are so many great downloads this week that are fall and Halloween related!
Now you'll notice that my little vellum baggie is empty, but not to worry, Nathan and I will fill them before the "big" day! Let me explain the hybrid part of this project first. I cut two pieces of vellum (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) and stitched the two of them together leaving the top open. I then simply folded over the top edge (so the treats don't fall out). I then wrapped the ribbon around the little envelope and secured the tag onto the ribbon and tied a bow! Voila! Hybrid, cute and I can make a million (well, not really...but at least a bunch!) without going too crazy!
As for the MDS portions, I used the following(the picture to the left is what the project looked like in MDS before printing):

OK...breath...breath! I am so excited to share with you today something I was playing with on the weekend! I would have posted before now but I can't figure out how to show you "live" how this function works so I simply did a screen capture video.
So, what is all the excitement about? Why is Heather off her rocker (yes, lack of sleep BUT also super excited!) When I purchased MDS I always saw the interactive feature and always thought it looked fun and I'd "get to it later". Well, later has happened and boy am I excited!
I made this page (cute, eh?) of Cole this past weekend and while snapping photos I also took some video. SO, I thought....."Wouldn't it be nice to have the video somehow with the photos?" And then it hit me....I can, I can! So, that's what I did! I made my page, clicked the "add video" button, imported the video and VOILA! That easy! (for those of you that have done this.....bear with me and pretend to be excited....for those that haven't JUST THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES!)
Here's one scenario:
make and print my usual 12x12 family album through Stampin' Up! (yummy on it's own!)
burn a DVD of the interactive project which means I'll have a CD with all my pages on it AND the videos attached
create a little pocket in the back of my scrapbook and now I have my videos and photos all in one place organized in time and between the scrapbook page and video it's COMPLETE....
are you starting to feel the excitement and possibilities here!?!?!?
(can you imagine this little disk inserted in a Christmas card....a year in review of your family with photos, text and videos!!!! SO STINKIN EXITED....I promise not to bore all of you with this for Christmas...probably just my mom:)

In the meantime I thought I'd share with you one of my options for a Christmas card this year. I love to include a photo of my munchkins when I send out my cards, so rather than paying for photo finishing, then cutting and mounting them, I've decided to create a hybrid card. Hybrid you ask? Well, this means I'll have "real" components mixed with digital on my card. So I am going to print my cards with SU, cut the cover off (if you watch the video you'll get what I mean), mount it on Cherry Cobbler and add a glitter brad in the middle of snowflake for a little dimension and bling! What do you think? I am so excited about this option!!!

I know it's a shocker! So many of you have been asking for videos and I will be getting back into them (when I get my new camera:) but in the meantime I thought I'd quench your thirst with a little MDS video! Some of you are doubters, so I wanted to show you how quickly you can put together a page. I was inspired by my wonderful friend Barb for this page as well as a layout in a magazine. I didn't create this page first, you see my bloppers and "hear" my mistakes. It was fun doing it this way and I have to say I didn't spend another 5 minutes filling in the pictures, adding the title or the little embellishments. I hope you like today's page AND video!

OK, so it's been a busy day around here, but I really want to share with you! As I said the other day on my blog, Stampin' Up! has started a blog just dedicated to My Digital Studio. Well, I've been learning a ton and having a blast!
So, guess what I learned first? You can fill our punches with photos! How awesome is that? Now, it's not as easy as just filling it with a push of a button, but once you've done it once, it's simple! You're going to love it!!!

This was one of the highlights of Mark's cruise...basketball! Love it! This MDS page uses Brilliant Blue as the background, the bottom green portion was colour matched to match Mark's Crocs. The title and basketball are in a newish download called Athletic Dept. The great thing about these stamps is they are HUGE. I actually had to shrink them down on this page, which is great, because you don't have to worry about pixellating them! The font is done in CK Ali for the journaling.
OK, so my goal this week is to do a series of "man" cards or creations. Well, I'm not sure if scrapbooking can count, but I did this page of my little ham, I mean man, I thought I'd share. The reason for this post is I was asked to demo how I made the little scallop around the mat page on the "Mark and Mittens" page the other day. SO, I took this opportunity to scrap our trip to Sharon creek this past weekend and use the same technique. I am LOVING Nathan's age right now! He is such a monkey, check out his outfit! I know I shouldn't care, and to an extent I don't, by the boots, pj bottoms and hat make for an interesting combination!

I have done a quick video on the trick to creating a circular title. It's an easy trick, but super helpful!

I am so excited to show you this page in "paper" form as well. I have created it with the traditional paper method and love it just as much!
Did I tell you I've received my first MDS book!!! I LOVE it! I am so pleased with it! It is a 60 page scrapbook from September to December of this past year. I calculated the cost of the book had I done it in traditional scrapbooking to be about $325 for all the embellishments, DSP, albums, page protectors, brads (everything except the photos). To print this in a leather bound book cost about $200. I am SO happy with it and can't wait to show it off to you!!! If you're at my house and I forget to show you, please don't hesitate to ask!

I think I've done it! I am so excited and have had so much fun playing with my Christmas toy. I've been wanting a Mac for some time and Adam WOWED me and shocked me with a Mac. I've never used one before so it's been a day of trial and error. I installed My Digital Studio on the Mac, made a page and even shot a video on how to make this page! I am so excited!
OK, so onto the idea of a video. You have to remember that this is my FIRST video ever using a screen capture program, so you have to tolerate my errors and stumbling, but I wanted to share it with you today!
