I was looking for a fun and a little less traditional Christmas card for a friend and I thought this one did the trick! I find mixing patterns of paper a difficult task, but I'm really happy with this card...hope you are too! I used the sweet pacakge of DSP in the holiday mini, the Festival of Prints! FUN! Happy Sunday to you! I hope your weekend is off to a great start! We had yet another FANTASTIC meal last night (thanks Anne!) I love having some "down time" where we can just relax and visit and that was certainly my evening last night! Today I'm off to the One of a Kind Craft Show in Toronto which should be a ton of fun!!!
The other day I shared with you a "fancy" box I created using very similar supplies so I wanted to share a coordinating card with you as well. The supplies are as follows:
Early Espresso Cardstock 124276
Candlelight Christmas DSP 126901
Greetings of the Season 128033
Champagne Glimmer Paper 127885

I am really enjoying the tulle from Stampin' Up! and hope you are too!!! This current holiday catalogue is only "good" or "current" until the new year! So make sure you stock up on your accessories so you don't miss out:) I also wanted to remind you that the amazing Extravaganza Sale ends on Wednesday! I have an order going in on Wednesday if you'd like to add anything to it! Please email me for more details at [email protected]. Alrighty, off to enjoy a day out and I hope you too have a great day!
Happy Thursday to you! I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but if not, I will brag about my AMAZING team! I am so lucky to be surrounded by such amazing women that are always willing to share and help! Marja was responsible for the make and takes at our last meeting and I'm in love! She talked about Stamp-a-stacks and had us create the cards she was making for her stamp-a-stack as our make and takes! SO FUN!!! I have to say, this one is my favourite!
I'm amazed at how simple this card is yet how much the card POPS! I love it! I can't wait to have my kids make these to share this holiday season!
The nice thing is the "o" is the 1/2 inch punch whcih is GREAT! It sure makes it easy to add a little pop!!!
I hope you like this creation! Here is the supply list:
Happy FRIDAY to you! Can you believe we are TWO days away!!! HOW FUN! We are pretty excited around here! Today is Christmas party for Cole, craft in Emma's class and some more baking! Can't wait!!!! I will be back this afternoon with my final day of Adam's avent and MDS blog hop. BUT to start off the day I thought I'd share a NON Christmas card...what!!!! I know, but I thought it was cute and you'd like to see it!
It actually could be a cute Christmas card with a message like "from our house to yours". But let's be honest, if you're not done your cards they just might not get done:) (I haven't finished all mine...need to make some new years cards I guess!)
Hate to cut this short, but must get the kids to the bus. Check out the video for all the details and I'll be back later today!
Well, can you tell that I'm having a GREAT weekend....sorry for the delay in the posts! It was my nephew's surprise birthday party WEEKEND! I can't believe he is 18. Matthew is such a nice boy (I suppose man!) and I am just so lucky to be able to celebrate with him! Sandra had a GREAT party last night for Matthew with super fun games and AMAZING food! Then this morning all the boys went paintballing and the girls (and little people) made cookies and decorated them! It was a BLAST!!! Thank you Sandra! So, because of all the fun, a post didn't happen until now:) I know you don't mind though!
Today's tag is just so sweet and QUICK!!!! I should issue this warning: IMAGE IS WAY BIGGER ON YOUR SCREEN THAN IN PERSON:) It uses the small scallop square in Real Red, the 1 3/8 inch square in More Mustard and 1 1/4 inch square in Crumb Cake. On the Crumb Cake I embossed the image in Wild Wasabi heat embossing powder. Cute, eh?
Well, I hope you have a GREAT rest of your weekend! I'm hoping for a nap...no not really, but it will be an EARLY night!
Happy Saturday to you! I hope you had a wonderful week! I'm hoping TODAY is THE day.....can we pull out our Christmas fun and get the house all set up!?!? We shall see!!! I hope so....I do wish we had some snow, BUT we can crank the tunes and sing along while we decorate, right?
In the meantime, I thought I'd start my festive "mood" with a 12 days of Christmas theme! I'm going to share 12 tags with you over the next 12 days (and they all have videos!!!) On top of that, I have more than one post on some of these days, so you've got lots of Christmas ideas coming your way!
This tag has MINIMAL supplies: More Mustard Cardstock (about 4 1/4 x 2 1/4), Holly Berry Button, White Gel pen, White Embossing Powder (Delightful Dozen Stamp), Stocking Accents Big Shot Die, Bakers Twine
Thanks so much for stopping by today!!! I hope you have a WONDERFUL weekend!
WOW! Thank you for the overwhelming response about the "step up" idea on cards. I have shot another version for you (this time with two cards.....but better than none, right:) I love this concept for a card (and have done it before) but had another idea to extend it.
Here is the supply list for this card:
Pool Party - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Whisper White - 5 1/2 x 2 (ripped), 1 1/4 x 5 1/2 (ripped), 3 inch circle, 2 1/2 inch circle, 1 3/4 inch circle
Basic Black - 1 1/4 inch circle, 1 inch circle (layered on the hat with dimensionals), 1/4 inch circles (3)
Early Espresso - snowflake punch
Pumpkin Pie - carrot nose

Other - Dazzling Details, Island Indigo Ribbon, White Gell Pen, Basic Black Marker, Dimensionals
I hope you have a fantastic and I appreciate your stopping by today! Enjoy your Saturday!
You guys sure know how to put a smile on my face, thank you! I loved the comments (and emails yesterday) thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the card!
Can you see what I switched up from yesterday? Ths supplies are almost the same, but not quite:)
The Old Olive Taffeta ribbon is a little more expensive than the Baker's Twine (love tying bows with this ribbon). And then rather than punching out the Christmas trees just from card stock, I used the Pennant Parade stamp for the Christmas trees (stamped in Old Olive then punched out).
Fun, hey! I hope you're excited to see what tomorrow's card looks like! I hope you have a GREAT day!
Happy Tuesday to you! I had such a fun class last night, thank you Bird, Kathy and Mom for coming! It's nice having such a small group sometimes and the conversation was great, thank you! I was really excited about this class (and still am) and have decided to share with you the concept and of course the cards.
I wanted to demonstrate how to make a nice simple card for those that may throw out your card, or truly don't appreciate the work that goes into one. I know that sounds harsh, but I think most of us have a person or two like this in our lives:) Then tomorrow I will share with you a stepped up version that you can create and share with those that know what you do and appreciate what you do! Then on Thursday, I'll share with you a wowed up version of the card that you may make for those special recipients in your life! We did this with two different cards last night and depending on your response to this idea, I will shoot videos for those cards as well if you like.
This grouping of cards was completely inspired by Stacia Sloma. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity! The other "thing" about a Step One card is that they are cost effective. As you can see on this card, the Baker's Twine and Dimensionals are the most expensive items:) Here is a quick supply list for you:
Crumb Cake Card Stock - 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
Old Olive Card Stock - Top Note Die, Pennant Punch
Whisper White Card Stock - Top Note Die
Cherry Cobbler - Three Heart Punch
Baker's Twine - Cherry Cobbler
Stamps - Holiday Happiness, Pennant Parade
Thanks so much for stopping by today! OH YEAH....ALMOST FORGOT!!!! Because over 5000 people did the free downloads from Stampin' Up! they are giving away another free one and it is stinkin cute!!! RUN, go get it (and check out today's NEW downloads!) Have a wonderful day!
Howdy! I hope you are having a great week so far!!! I can't believe it's already Wednesday! I am so excited for my class tonight!!
I completely forgot (in all my excitement to share the kids' Halloween costumes) that yesterday was MDS download day! WOW, there are two amazing ones (well, really they are all great BUT I HAD to have 2 of them) - Frost Ensemble (I know that's not the right wording but it's the kit from yesterday (AMAZING!) and a new snowflake punch (actually 2!) LOVE IT!
Rather than boring you with MDS again today (OK, really I'm not quite done the pages) I thought I'd share a quick Christmas card idea with you. This card would be SUPER easy to reproduce but offers a "punch" and a "pow" with the felt, dry embossing and dimensions!
I actually shot a video just to show you how QUICK this card is...under 2 minutes! Here is your quick supply list:
Crumb Cake - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, 4 x 5 1/4, medium ovals on the Oval Big Shot die
felt pieces from the Holiday Mini catalogue
snowflake stamp
Christmas greeting
Dimensionals
White Craft Ink and Soft Suede Classic Ink
and voila...you've got a card! Hope you like it!!! I may just be back with a scrapbook page or two later today:)
Happy Wednesday to you! Did you love yesterday's downloads? I am SUPER excited about the Celebrate Any Day kit and the Handle with Care...so fun! Yes, you'll be seeing projects made with these in the near future:)
In the meantime, I wanted to make a card for Emma. I like to remind her that the world is hers and she can do anything she sets her mind to. So on this theme, I thought this set was perfect! The card colours were inspired by the Domestic Goddess DSP line. Here are the details for this card:
Pool Party - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, 4 inch circle
Calypso Coral - 3 1/2 inch circle
So Saffron - 3 inch circle
Whisper White - 2 1/2 inch circle, 4 x 5 1/4, scraps for the balloons
Other - Calypso Coral Ribbon, In Colour Brads (YUMMY!)
Stamps - Up, Up and Away
I hope you have a GREAT day! For those that were asking, craft was FABULOUS with Mark's class! He has a wonderful class and the kids were very responsive and I think had fun (at least I did!) Thanks for taking the time to stop by and see me!
Happy Monday to you! Where do the weekends go? I have to say we had a beautiful weekend (even got my Christmas pictures of the kids done - maybe, unless I change my mind:) I'm excited to have this off my "to do" list as it is often the first week of December and I'm struggling! Now, I have been working a little backwards though as my Halloween costumes aren't done yet!
ANYHOW, you're here for a project! I can't take credit for this project as I saw it on Pinterest and LOVED it! I couldn't find the original creator, but I did see "Cindy" on the photo's watermark. So Cindy, thank you!!! If you know who Cindy is I'd love to give credit to her. I have modified mine and shot you a video to show you how I made my project!
Here is a brief supply list:
Certainly Celery - Stocking Die (2)
Whisper White - 2 x 3 1/4 (for the insert in the boot)
Lace Ribbon
Sticky Strip
Polka Dot Embossing Folder
I still have space in my class if you're interested in coming or ordering a kit! Thanks so much!
Wow! Thank you so much for your overwhelming response to the coffee snuggies. I just want to answer a few questions I've had.
1. If I buy more than one cozy can they be in different fabric? YES! For sure, just indicate either in a follow up email or in the comment section on Pay Pal
2. When will they ship? MOST of yesterday's orders will ship on Wednesday. HOWEVER, I have had to expedit some Spice Cake fabric as you guys are LOVING this one (can't blame you!) So if you ordered Spice Cake it may not ship until Monday.
3. Can I order more than 3? For sure...email me and we'll figure out the details!
Alright...onto today's post.... My friend and downline Nicole shared this SUPER cool card with me and I just HAD to make it! It is so fun and truly is easy to put together. The outside of this card is not the wow, but the insdie is just so fun!!! Check out the video to get the full WOW factor.
Here are the supplies used for this card:
Crumb Cake - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8
Chocolate Chip - 2 x 5 3/8 (two of these), 2 3/8 Scallop Circle

Hope you like today's creation! Remember it's TUESDAY....My Digital Studio download day! Can't wait to check it out!
Have a GREAT day and thank you for taking time out of your day to stop by!
Happy Monday to you!!! I hope that you had a fabulous weekend! Our weekend was SUPER fun and SUPER busy! I had a blast and want to thank each of you that I got to see this weekend and to spend time with! Thank you!
Friday night we had a family party for my nephew, Cohen! He turned three and we headed out to my sister-in-law's house for dinner and just a relaxing evening! I was so excited to help make the birthday cake for Cohen as well. He LOVES dump trucks so we decided to make a dump truck cake (and of course then I got to make a matching card!) The front windshield was a little wonky, but hey, I only make four cakes a year, right???
On Sunday, Nathan was invited to his buddy Griffin's fourth birthday! This party was SUCH A BLAST! It was fun watching a dozen kids ranging in ages from probably 3 to 8 or 9 playing hockey, lego and just being kids! They were making their own fun and having a fun! Knowing I had two parties for two "boy boys" this weekend, I made two of the same cards (and loved them...hope the boys did too:)
Now, the cards were a complete cased idea from Carrie Gaskin (Artistic Avenger). She had a colour challenge a few weeks back and I LOVED her layout and the colours she was using SO I totally stole the idea (and am giving her complete credit!) swapped out the stamp set (Carrie used Button Buddies) and voila! I am so happy with it! Here is the recipe(ish) for the card:
Old Olive - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, 5 1/4 x 1 1/4, 5 1/4 x 1
Poppy Parade - Two Tags Die (the tag is cut and shortened to fit on a card front)
Island Indigo - 5 1/4 x 4
Whisper White - 3/8 x 3, 2 3/4 x 2 1/4, scraps for the dump truck
Ink - Basic Grey, Island Indigo, Old Olive, Pool Party, Poppy Parade
Stamps - I Dig You, Dot to Dot
Other - brads, Island Indigo Ribbon, Bakers Twine

It's the weekend!!! YAY!!!! I am so excited to be spending the day today with Emma, my mom and a "whole whack" of fantastic Stampin' Up! demonstrators! I LOVE hosting big events and can't wait to enjoy my time with each and everyone of these amazing women!!! I'll take pictures (hopefully) and share them with you soon:)
I had fun using a little bit of EVERYTHING on this gem of a card the other day! Not sure that it all "goes" but I think anything truly goes for Halloween!
I've been dying to try our new Peek-a-boo windows Big Shot die so I thought what better time than for a Halloween card? Isn't it sweet? The spooky Bingo Bits are also a perfect match for these windows!
Unfortunately, today I don't have time to give you all the dimensions for this card, but I can do a quick supply list:
Frightful Sights DSP
Cherry Cobbler card stock
vellum
Bat Punch (retired...sorry!)
Black lace ribbon (retired...sorry again)
Peek-a-boo window
Basic Black card stock
Cherry Cobbler 1 1/4 inch Grosgrain Ribbon
sewing machine
Spooky Bingo Bits stamp set
Well, I hope you have a GREAT day! I know I will (or at least hope so!!!!) Check out the video for a few more details if you like!
YAY! It's Thursday! I'm excited that tonight is our Simply Stars downline meeting! It feels like FOREVER since I've seen so many of my teammates! We don't tend to meet formally in the summer, but we do each month for the school year. This meeting will be jam packed with so many fun things...demonstrations, samples, swaps and of course a little make and take:)
So yesterday's card used the Letters to Santa Designer Series paper and if you recall I cut the "big pattern" off as it didn't suite the card I was making. BUT no one wants paper to go to waste, so I came up with this little card using some of that big image.
The reason for the close up is to show you the YUMMY Cherry Cobbler embossing powder! Isn't it great!?!?! Not sure why I don't pull this out more often:)
Here goes...the supply list:
Letters to Santa DSP - 4 x 3 3/4, 4 x 1 1/2, 3 x 1
Happy Wednesday to you! Didn't you love yesterday's MDS downloads!!! I'm going to be broke! SU made an announcement to keep our eyes peeled on the mydigitalstudio.net site on October 3rd!!! There will be some new bulk buy pricing and NEW print products! I can't wait!!! Christmas here we come!
Today's project is one (modified) that we did at our club this month. I love gift card holders and making fun holders for them is always a goal for me. I've already purchased some of my nieces and nephews gifts for Christmas and even have some packaged! (that's a record for me!) Some of them will be getting these sweet little pocket cards.
I LOVE this paper from SU (the Christmas paper in the "big" catalogue) but struggle sometimes with the bigger images. SO, I cut the paper at 7 3/4 inches so the larger image isn't on this card (but check back later this week for a different card:) and modified the dimensions to create the double pocket card.
Basically you just need a rectangle, and you'll score it in half in both directions! As simple as that. For my card, here are the dimensions/supplies:
DSP - usually I use 8 1/2 x 11 scored at 4 1/4 and 5 1/2 then cut along the 5 1/2 inch score line until you hit the 4 1/4. BUT for this card I used 7 3/4 x 10 1/2 scored at 3 7/8 and 5 1/4 then cut along the 5 1/4 inch score line until you hit the 3 7/8 inch line
felt embellishments
5/8 x 4 1/8 shimmer paper for the greeting
3 1/4 x 4 Early Espresso for the greeting pull out backing
3 1/8 x 3 7/8 shimmer paper for the greeting pull out
other - glimmer brads (brights), Espresso Quilted Ribbon, Dear Santa Stamp Set
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Sorry my video is a little choppy (phone rang, battery died...you know, one of those videos:)
Happy Saturday to you! Sorry for the late post, it has been a busy week!!! Thanks to those that have asked about Nathan's transition to school. He's doing better (less tears). He really does love going to school and likes the "learning" part, but just gets a little lonely at lunch. He did come home saying me made a new friend so that's good news!!!! Emma and Mark are doing great, getting involved and having fun! Hope these first few weeks of school have been great for you and your little ones:)
Alrighty, onto today's project...A friend of mine asked me to make some generic birthday cards for him for his business....so cards that can be for anyone! That was a touch challenge for me, as it had to be for any age or gender. I'm happy with what I cam up with for this card (and they'll be cheap to send in the mail as there are no buttons or big knots:)
I used Island Indigo, Real Red and Pool Party. The stamp set is the Patterned Party set with the Pennant Punch. Fun, eh?
Here is a quick dimension list for you:
card base - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Crumb Cake layer - 4 x 5 1/4 then stitched
Ink- Crumb Cake (for the balloons on the card base), Real Red, Island Indigo
other - Pennant Punch, 1/2 inch circle punch, dimensionals, linen thread
I appreciate your stopping by today and I hope you have a fantastic weekend! Ours is busy, but will be fun!
Take care,
Heather

OK, I truly am loving that title! Not sure I still qualify to be considered a Domestic Goddess but I'm having fun doing things like cooking, cleaning (gasp!) and sewing(you should see the cute projects I've been making...some of you did last night!)! What is coming over me?
Well, today's title is that because it's the name of the Designer Series Paper...not me:) I fell in love with these little clips when they were introduced in our catalogue and I have been staring at them, and staring at them. I finally thought, "hey, I should use them!" So here is the debut of my mini clothespins:)
This is a fresh and fun colour combination - Pool Party, So Saffron and Basic Grey...fun! And this stamp set is SO stinkin cute as well (right Sundee? right Renee?) A couple of my oh so sweet downline were knocking this set a little not knowing why we would have it and what could be done with it....so here is the first attempt:)
I stamped the chair in Basic Grey and then stitched around it. The flowers are from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack. The fun plaid background is a stamp from this set (stamped in Pool Party). then these are layered on the Domestic Goddess DSP. I attached the clips with glue dots, then attached the ribbon and tags....cute eh?
Hope you like this! I appreciate your comments and I appreciate your stopping by! Have a WONDERFUL day!
I think that Nathan is JUST LIKE ME....well, not really in all ways but he LOVES Halloween! He has been talking about what he wants to be for Halloween for weeks now and it's changed about a million times....pirate, Star Wars, pylon (yes, those orange things on the road!), tree, remote control....and who knows what next! One thing I learned through Emma and Mark is that you have to start early with little ones. Nathan wants to make some Halloween cards for people and he needs to practice his cutting so this is a craft we came up with.
Simple, I know, but cute! We created a standard card (4 1/4 x 11 scored at 5 1/2). Then I drew on a "ghost" shape and Nathan practiced his cutting by cutting out the shape. I left it so the top is still on the crease so this card will open.
After he was done cutting, we glued on the fun big googlie eyes and he wrote on the word "boo". How fun and cute!!!!
We've made 6 so far and who knows how many more he'll want to do! I love crafting with my kids and sometimes it's fun to have something at "their" level rather than mine:)
Hope you like this....I did a quick video for you as well! Have a great day!
How is your week going? I have to say, that mine has been fantastic! Thank you to EACH OF YOU for being so supportive of my business....because of YOU I am enjoying a few days in Southern Utah here at Founders. I am SUPER excited to be going on a hike today! I will share photos....not to worry!!! OK, on with the card....
This is a sample of one of the sets I had yet to use. I earned this at Convention, wasn't sure about it and of course went to Teneale's blog and saw her sweet idea of highlighting the sweet girl with a heart. Cute, eh?
Isn't this combination of Beau Chateau and Forever Young a perfect match? I also decorated the inside and out of the card. The following dimensions are for the outside of the card. Have fun!
Not sure about you, but I think my favourite hostess set this catalogue is the Ain't Love Grand set. I just love how crisp and clean the images are and how easy they are to colour! You can certainly do more than what I've done here, but they can be coloured as simply as a few markers! Have you had the chance to check out the new hostess program in the catalogue? All you hostesses out there (or people that place a minimum $200 order) get AMAZING deals!!!! For a $200 order, you get $35 in hostess dollars that can be spent on either catalogue merchandise OR hostess sets OR a combination of the two! How awesome is that?!?!
I've been having fun sewing on my cards lately. If you've never done it, it's worth a try! Just thread your machine as usual and get to it:) My only advice is to NOT put adhesive under where you are sewing or you'll gum up your needle.
I love Halloween....did you know that??? I am going crazy for it and all I want to do is create for Halloween....but I can't! I am just about done the planning for my big demonstrator event on October 1st (CLICK HERE for all the details...the price goes up tomorrow!) Truth be told, I am having fun stamping Christmas projects as well!!! I can't wait to share....details for my annual fundraiser and photos will be ready in a few short days as well!!!
I had fun making this card...it is not a typical colour combination for me....More Mustard, Rich Razzleberry and Basic Black. Fun, eh? All the images (except the greeting) are from the new stamp set, Out on a Limb from the holiday mini catalogue. CLICK HERE if you haven't viewed it yet. It's tough to see in the photo, but the little bats on the bottom are stamped in Stazon on the black paper...cute!
All the sponging is done with More Mustard. Today's video showcases how I used the Decorative Label punch to make the two frames on the greeting. Hope you like it!
Thanks so much for spending your holiday Monday with me!!! I hope you enjoy the LAST day of summer holidays (WHAAAAAA!!!!) and have fun making lunches tomorrow (BIGGER WHAAAAAA!!!!) It's been a great summer and let's hope this carries through the fall:)
I have the BEST team of demonstrators around! I know all you lovely demonstrators that visit my blog would disagree (and I'm okay with that) but my team seems to be the perfect fit! I have made so many friends through Stampin' Up! and am proud of each and every member of my downline. They have all overcome different obstacles and created a stamping environment that is perfect for them! I have lots of hobby demonstrators that are their only or best customer. I have some demonstrators that maintain a business that helps pay a bill or two (including that VISA bill for Stampin' Up! products:) and then I have some that are building a business. No one is more important to another and each woman is an important part of our team!! Thank you Stars for being so great!!! If you've ever thought of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator talk to your demonstrator and see what it's all about!!! The more the merrier:)
This month I wanted to send out some Congrats cards to my ladies so this is what I came up with. Now, please forgive me, because the video is a little choppy and unpolished. I have had a few people asking me to just "stamp" on a video. "HUH?" They wanted to actually see me stamp and see me create on camera. SO, I did just that. I didn't preplan the card, have a sample done or even prestamp an image (oh, that's not true, I did prestamp one about a month ago that I decided to use:) SO, I mutter my way through the video and you can sortof hear me talk my way through my creation. I hope you like it, but I can say I won't do it often as I felt a little lost at times:) I do appreciate the kind words though and this video suggestion. Well, if you like this card, here is the supply list:
Alrighty, I hope you enjoy your Sunday! I'm hoping for uneventful and maybe even jammies all day! We shall see.....school prep is a must. Thank you for stopping by and I'll see you again tomorrow!
Well, this describes our night last night! Not really, but I'm glad to hear those that were at my home last night all made it home safely. I hope that you all had a safe night, it was quite the storm!
I love this stamp set, it just makes me smile! It's a little tough to see in the photo but he is coloured using chalks, markers and a little Dazzling Details were added as well (a liquid glitter that releases September 1st!)
Thank you already for the super kind emails and comments! I'm excited to share my news that I'm a featured tutorial girl (I"m sure there's a better word for it) on Splitcoaststampers today. The ever so sweet Beate contacted me a few months back asking if I'd share this card with you. She was so patient and kind with me and I hope you love the final results!
I called this card the Triple Tier Slider Card, however, it can easily be adapted to have even more tiers. If you follow the same pattern, making each tier slightly smaller than the first you can make this as big as you like!
One thing I've learned with these cards is that using DSP as your layer bases make it slide easier than using card stock. If you use card stock it becomes very thick very quickly which in turn makes it a little more difficult to slide.
There are lots of fun ways to create a "pull" for this card. For this sample, I used a bow with the super sweet fabric brad. I've made others using a tab punch or ribbon ends. I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Thanks so much for stopping by today (again....two posts....actually I think I had four yesterday....crazy, I know!) Anyhow, if you make a triple tier slider card I'd love to see your creation! Please leave me a comment with a link and I"ll check it out!
For all the step by step instructions, check out splitcoast resources. Thanks again Beate and all the other hard workers over at Splitcoast for making the site possible as well as all the resources and inspiration!
How crazy is that!?!?! We are getting hit hard again! Today's share is a card I made for my new recruits that joined our Stampin' Up! family in November! I'm so grateful to have new friends on board!
The colours are Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Whisper White. I love the "shabby" ribbon look and the chunky buttons look great with it!!! Hope you like it too!
I have a little video to share with you as well for the card! hope you like it!
Well, we had our first snowfall yesterday! Not sure you can call it a snowfall but the kids did go out after school with Nathan in the back and make the first snowman of the season. It was about 9 inches tall and made out of three snowballs! AND I didn't even take a picture (can you believe it!) Nathan is so excited for snow and Christmas and I just know this is going to be a fun holiday!
Today's card is similar to the shaker card I made a week or two ago with these same colours and stamps. I love this little guy! I had to write a quick note to Mark's teacher so I just added the hello stamp and had a cute little card for her:)
Here is the recipe:
Crumb Cake - 8 1/2 x 4 1/4 scored at 4 1/4, 4 1/4 x 3/4, 2 1/2 x 2 1/2
Not Quite Navy - 3 3/8 x 3 3/8
Baja Breeze - 3 1/4 x 3 1/4
Accessories - Pom Poms, Dimensionals, White Craft Ink
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope you have a great day!
Hope you're having a great day! I've been playing with my new toy (will fill you in tomorrow) and decided to try a video. So, why not do a craft video:) Hope you like it!!! It's a chubby little gingerbread made with the fancy flower punch! Cute, eh? It's a quick post! Lots to do before my class tonight....like dinner, shower, and finish the bonus treat box!!!! Have a great night!
Well, well, well! Are you excited!!! Do you love this new colour? It's called Cajun Craze and is a new SU core colour! Isn't it delicious? One new product coming out in the next catalogue is a colour coach and it is AMAZING! It is NOTHING like what is in our current catalogue. This one is like paint chips with tons and tons of suggestions and recommendations of great, new combinations. This is one of them... Cajun Craze, Perfect Plum and Always Artichoke (I know...who'd a thunk?)
Here is the recipe for this card:
Always Artichoke - 4 1/4 x 4 1/4, 4 x 1
Elegant Eggplant - 4 1/8 x 4 1/8
Perfect Plum - 4 x 4
Cajun Craze - 3/8 inch circle (2), 1 1/8 x 4, 2 3/8 scallop circle (NEW Alert!)
Very Vanilla - 1 3/4 inch circle, scrap for the butterfly
Thanks so much for stopping by today! If you are one of my regular customers or an online customer, please keep an eye on your "inbox" as I'll be sending you a little invitation to something special very soon:) I appreciate all of you for stopping by!
Happy Thursday to You! I hope you are having a great week! I can say that mine has been quite frazzled and a little hectic, but I'm here! I've been having a few fun minutes to play in my stamp room which has been great! Ribbon shares have been mailed out if you have prepaid your ribbon. I will email you today if I'm waiting on payment and get it to you ASAP! It is so pretty all cut up and ready to send!
In the meantime, today's card is a complete case from JoAnn Pullen. Her work is amazing and I hope you'll stop by her blog. She is very clean and crisp in her stamping and makes beautiful wedding cards! Thank you Jo-Ann for the inspiration!
Here is the recipe for the card:
Very Vanilla - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, 2 x 3 stamped then cut into 1 inch squares
Baja Breeze - 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 (dry embossed with a new folder:)
Basic Black ink and marker (I traced around the outside edge of all my layers with the Basic Black to add some contrast
Because I Care (level one hostess set from the next catalogue!)
Good morning to you! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope all is well! Today's card I am LOVING!!! Cherry Cobbler has got to be my new best friend (in my little stamping world with me, myself and I:) It is so rich and beautiful and I think you too will fall in love! This card is done in Basic Black, Very Vanilla and Cherry Cobbler.
Here is the recipe for this one:

Well, I'm sad but in some ways relieved. My online class, Simply Stamping Two is now complete and I had a blast! If you are still interested, this class is available to you for months to come. Click here for the details. When I offer an online class, I find it difficult to maintain lots of details and videos on my blog. BUT now that it's done, I'll have more on my blog.
I am so proud of myself. My new supplies and catalogue came earlier this week, but I didn't let myself play with my new supplies or even open my catalogue until all my work was DONE! It took a lot of will power, but today I finally snuck a half hour to play. This is my first creation
It uses the new stamp set called Friends Forever (which matches AMAZINGLY fun DSP!) And yes, these are two new colours....Pear Pizazz and Baja Breeze (well, to some Baja is an oldie but goodie, to others it will be new:) Here is the recipe for this card:
Baja Breeze - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, 3 7/8 x 1 (scalloped), 4 x 1 (scalloped)
Chocolate Chip - 4 x 5 1/4, 2 1/2 x 3 1/4
Pear Pizazz - 2 3/8 x 2 3/4, 3 7/8 x 1 (scalloped), 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
Whisper White - 2 1/4 x 2 5/8, scrap for the cut out flower, 4 x 5 1/4
DSP - 2 1/2 x 4 (inside then cut for the flower to "pop"), 3 7/8 x 4 1/2
Inks - Baja Breeze, Marina Mist, Chocolate Chip
Details - Baja Breeze Button (from a few years back), Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon (NEW), Dimensionals
On the video I demonstrate how I got the flowers two toned. I thank you for stopping by today and hope to see you again soon:)
Happy Wednesday to you! Today's card was totally inspired by the purse that I made for Emma AND the purse that I am raffling off this month to one lucky online shopper! For every $25 you spend with me online this month you will receive a ballot to win this fun purse! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
This bag is Gable Green, Green Galore, Tempting Turquoise, Taken With Teal, Only Orange and some Real Red. How fun! AND to top it off some of these colours are retiring! I can't stress enough to you how important it it to stock up on reinkers and papers in all your favourite colours! They'll be gone before you know it AND there's nothing worse than the "I should have's":)
OK, onto the card! As you can see I used the Green Galore, Taken With Teal, Only Orange and Bermuda Bay on this card. This stamp set is super sweet, it's the one with four stamps covered if lots of word....one about baby boys, baby girls, wedding and birthday (I know, I'm the WORST remembering names!) I also used the Bold Bright Brads on this card as well (remember these will also retire in June!)
The words are stamped in Versamark on the card front. I forget to pull out the Versamark sometimes, but boy isn't it great!
The dimensions of this card are 8 1/2 x 7 scored at 3 1/2. It fits inside a legal sized envelope. Hope you like today's card! Have a great day, the sun is shining!
I am loving the bright colours right now! I think it's because it's sunny and bright here:) I will be sad to see some colours go, but excited to make room for the new! In the meantime I'll enjoy colours such as Only Orange! Doesn't this make for a fun card? I'm using last week's colour challenge again, Tempting Turquoise, Only Orange and Chocolate Chip.
I have added lots of dimensionals to this card, which helps make it pop! There are some behind the white circle, the Turquoise circle and the Chocolate Chip square.
The recipe for this card is:
Chocolate Chip - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, 3 3/4 x 3 3/4, 2 x 2
Tempting Turquoise - 4 x 5 1/4, 1 3/8 Circle
Only Orange - 3 1/2 x 3 1/2, 1 3/4 x 1 3/4
Whisper White - 4 x 5 1/4, 1 1/4 Circle
Tempting Turquoise, Taken with Teal, Only Orange, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip markers
Only Orange and Tempting Turquoise Ink
Pumpkin Pie Ribbon
Bold Bright Brads
Dimensionals
Greetings, Earthlings Stamp Set
Googlie Eye
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Also, thanks for making Nathan's day with all your kind words on his silly little video:)
Happy Sunday to you! I hope you've had a great weekend so far! Well, it's two Saturdays in a row I haven't even been online! WOW, crazy, eh? We had a GREAT day at the Provincial Wrestling Championships! Emma and Mark had a very successful day and it was a great way to end the season.
Today's sketch challenge is both a layout AND I also used the colour challenge I gave my team this week. This week's colours are Only Orange, Tempting Turquoise and Chocolate Chip. I used Nathan's blanket as my colour inspiration for this week (although the blanket also has a bit of Summer Sun in it as well...so feel free to add that!) I'd love for you to link to my blog either using the sketch, the colour challenge OR both!
My card today uses a new stamp set that is coming out in May (unless of course you're a demonstrator and you pre-ordered this FABULOUS set!) This card uses all stamps from this set, including the fun horizontal border stamp...isn't that fun?
I popped up the tricycle on this card front with Dimensionals as well. The little border on the left of the squares is also stamped in the matching border stamp. Part of the challenge I gave to my downline was to use a different punch to create an "edge". Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Take care,
Heather
Add your interpretation of the sketch or colour challenge here:
Thanks for checking back! I am really enjoying checking out all the links for all the Simply Sunday Sketch, thank you! Last week's random winner was Martha! We'll be in touch! Thank you for playing along! If you don't have a blog, feel free to post your card on Splitcoaststampers and link to there!
My card today really is taken from this sketch. I know, it really looks nothing like the sketch but I wanted to show that a sketch is a starting point. I am thrilled with my final card and think it resembles the sketch:) I am excited to see what you come up with for this card!
AND the thing I love about this card is it's a little bit of old with a little bit of new. The stamp set is NEW and coming in the summer mini (fun, eh?) and the DSP is old BUT can be ordered on the Clearance Rack! How fun is that??? Hope you like it!!!
Have yourself a wonderful week and I'll be back tomorrow!
Thanks for all your feedback on the colour change. I am excited about it, but do completely understand some of your apprehension, that's normal! Change is good, but takes time to sink in. I can't wait to go through these changes with you!
Onto the card...I don't know about you but I'm not sure too many men deserve a get well soon card. I know when Adam is sick, the world is over:) Kidding! Actually he rarely is sick and really is okay, but a few friends have shared their husband horror stories of when they are sick and can do NOTHING!
Here is the recipe for this card:
Brocade Blue - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, scallop square
Really Rust - 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, 2 3/8 x 2 3/8, 4 x 5 1/4, 2 x 2 1/2
Write Stuff DSP - 4 x 2 (2 of these)
Pawsitively Perfect DSP (the build a Bear one..think that's the name) - 4 x 3 1/4, 5/8 x 4
I owe you guys a HUGE thank you!I appreciate the feedback and comments and REALLY appreciate
the ideas and suggestions.Thank
you!I have added a search option
on the side left toolbar in case you want to search my blog.I’m actually quite excited about this
as if you’re looking for a punch or a certain stamp set, type it in and
VOILA!It’s a great little tool,
thanks Chriss for the suggestion.
One other request was “manly” cards. So I started creating my project for my
Simply Stamping class today (a manly card as well) and loved it so continued on
to make this card!I have to say
I’m super excited about it!
Do you see it?Can you see that the foam of the beer is really the cupcake icing from
the thank you cupcake stamp????How fun is that!?!?I’m so
very excited!Anyhow, I’m also
excited about the glass (looks way better in person.I sponged the top of the card with
Whisper White to look like the foam bubbles and then the bottom of the cup is
sponged in More Mustard to offer depth and shadows.I used a Transparent envelope and cut it to fit the card
front (and use the seam that already exists) to make it look like glass!I hope you like my first attempt here
at some man cards!
Here is the recipe:
Transparent Envelope
More Mustard - 6 x 4 1/4 scored at 3
Very Vanilla
More Mustard Marker
More Mustard Ink and Sponge
Whisper White Ink and Sponge
Label, 1 inch punch, 1 1/4 inch circle punch
Earth Elements Brads
Paper Piercer
Big Cupcake Stamp (the birthday thank you....forget the name of it:)
Cheers to You Stamp Set
Crystal Effects
Thank you so much for stopping by!Thanks also to those that have placed clearance rack
orders!I think you bought out all
the Maine Blueberry DSP as it is now sold out!Oh well, wasn’t meant to be.
It's beginning to feel like Spring! I'm not getting my hopes up just yet but we had another fabulous day here! Can't wait for no coats:)
OK, so I learned something new yesterday. Either I learned that March has 31 days in it, OR that I'm off by a day in my life:) You know if I actually thought about it, I knew that March has 31 days in it, but I was convinced there were only 30 and that yesterday was the last day of Sale-a-bration. Well, I was WAY wrong:) TODAY is the last day because TODAY is still Mach:) Silly me:)
Anyhow, today's card was inspired by my super talented friend, Renee. She created a project with ruffled ribbon and I just loved it. Now, I don't have a fancy "ruffler" for my sewing machine, and I'm too lazy to hand sew SO, I figured out how to ruffle with Sticky Strip. I love the look on the card and hope you'll give it a shot!
Here is the recipe:
So Saffron - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, 1/2 inch punch
Rose Red - 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, 2 1/8 x 4, 3 x 2 3/4
DSP - 4 x 5 1/4, 2 x 4
Whisper White - 2 7/8 x 2 5/8, Large Oval
Certainly Celery - Scallop Oval, 3 x 4 then scallop with the Sale-a-bration punch!
That goes for all of you! I appreciate your stopping by on such a regular basis, you make my day! I made this card for my nephew who is 16. It's a tough age to craft for AND he's a boy. He is super great with my munchkins and helped me out last week so I wanted to remind him how great he is!
This is what I came up with. It uses the same stamp sets as yesterday's card: Extreme Elements and Extreme Guitar. I also used FYI.
Here is the recipe for this card:
Not Quite Navy - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, 3 x 4 1/4, 1/4 inch circle (4), 3 7/8 x 4 3/4
Basic Black- 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, 4 1/8 x 2 7/8, 1/2 inch circle (4), 4 x 5 1/4
Basic Grey - 4 x 5 1/4
Whisper White - 4 x 2 3/4, 3 3/4 x 4 5/8
silver brads (4)
Going Grey, Night of Navy ink
Black Craft Ink, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool
Extreme Elements, Extreme Guitar, FYI Stamp set
Glitter Spray
I'm back to making sure that I also show you the inside of my cards. I continue to decorate them, but don't always remember to share them.
I hope you have a wonderful day today!
Remember, today is the LAST day of Sale-a-bration! It's the last day of receiving the free stamp sets for both signing up to become a demonstrator and also for placing a $65 order. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
OK, I'm so excited about this! I know it probably doesn't seem like much to you, but I was thrilled with this idea and term when I did my class the other night. I love to make the 3x3 cards but let's be honest, they aren't always practical. SO, why not take the term progressive scrapbooking (start with a 6x6 page and create a 12x12 layout) and apply it to card making? Start with a 3x3 card and make a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card? FUN!!!!
So, that's what I've done with this last embellishment card! The theme for this card is the Pretties Kit using the half back pearls. The video quickly demonstrates this, but what is more important here is how I then took this 3x3 and made it QUICKLY into a standard card. This can be done with all the cards I demoed over the past week! Can you tell I'm giddy?
Now, here's a challenge for you! Can you create a 3x3 card and then make it a standard size using this Progressive card making idea? If so, please leave me a comment with a link to a sample on your blog and I'll draw a winner on Sunday night from this challenge AND one from my weekly sketch challenge! Thanks so much for playing along!
Here is a video for you for today!
Hope you have a WONDERFUL day and I'll see you again tomorrow!
I am hoping to get a few minutes this afternoon to get some work done, so please expect another post this afternoon. I will post my Sunday Sketch, some samples and last week's winner on my blog this afternoon. In the meantime....
I have another 3x3 card to share. This is the fastest card EVER! I love the DSP from SU in the Sale-a-bration mini. This is one of the papers. It truly is as quick as the card looks, but I shot a video to show how to use the ribbon with the hodgepodge. Hope you like it and I'll "see" you later!
Happy Wednesday to you! How is your March Break going? We had a great trip to Port Huron yesterday just for fun (actually for my coffee....) I know! Adam loves a little Day Trip and coffee was just the perk:)
Today's embellishment is the Pretties Kit. Now I know the title is Pretty, but sometimes I like Whimsical or Fun. The pieces in this kit really are beautiful and can help to make a beautiful card, however, I wanted to show the "fun" side of the kit. This fabric flower is very multipurpose. You can ink it, sponge it, dye it OR stamp on it! I literally just stamped on it! I used the Boho Backgrounds stamp set and Pumpkin Pie ink and just stamped on the flower.
Here is the recipe for today's card:
Apricot Appeal - 3 x 6 scored at 3, 1 inch circle
Pumpkin Pie - 2 3/4 x 2 3/4, 3/4 inch circle
Fire Brad
Pretties Kit
Boho Backgrounds Stamp Set and Pumpkin Pie Ink
Here is the video for today's card:
AND, yes, I have a scrapbook page for you as well!!! I LOVE MDS! Have I told you that before? This is my nephew and Nathan outside playing in the snow about a month ago. I had fun making the DSP in the back for this page. I stamped the snowflakes in Old Olive, Whisper White and Not Quiet Navy in the background. To get the perfectly lined up snowflakes, I stamped three, then I selected these (by holding down the shift key) and copied them. I was then able to get the 6 snowflakes in a row. I did this trick again with the 6 snowflakes and then I had a full row. Then I selected and cut the full row and pasted it, shifted it over and repeated this on the page. It is a bit of a time consuming process but a lot of fun and love the final look. I'm happy with the circle embellishments and the colour palette. Hope you like it!
Happy Tuesday to you! Hope all is going well for you on this Canadian Spring Break! The weather has turned a great corner for us, and have been enjoying lots of sunshine. I'll have more MDS pages to share of the fabulous weather soon:)
I had a lot of fun with the Embellishment Class the other night and am glad to share videos with you using different SU products. This card showcases eyelets. Eyelets are something that I used to shy away from. Remember the days of hammering, the the silent setter? Well, the Crop-o-dile makes an eyelet so quick and simple. Just remember when you are using the SU eyelets, the metal alloy is SUPER soft so you don't need to squeeze very hard when setting them.
Here is the recipe for today's card:
Bashful Blue - 3 x 6 scored at 3 inches, 2 1/8 x 2 1/8
Brocade Blue - 2 3/4 x 2 3/4
Night of Navy - Small Oval, 2 1/4 x 2 1/4
Eyelets
Whisper White - Tag Punch, Scrap of Whisper White Ink
Tiny Tags Stamp and Night of Navy Ink
Look Who's Turning Stamp
Linen Thread
Polka Dot Embossing Folder
Here is the video for today's card:
I also have an MDS page for you. I've been on a mission to get caught back up on my scrapbooking since January. I have to laugh because I'm not sure you can ever be on top of scrapbooking. But Adam came up with a solution, "stop taking pictures". Well, that's no fun:) This is a page about my little sleep walker Mark. It's typical to find him in someone else's bed in the morning, but on this particular night we found him in the hallway. Even Mittens was a little surprised!
I hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!
This card makes me happy! I did a similar card to this a few months back using the star punch. Well I thought I could do the same look but make an Easter egg. This is a quick card to put together and would make for sweet table favours. I can't believe how quickly Easter is creeping up on us!
Here are the dimensions for this card:
Blush Blossom - 3 x 6 scored at 3
Bashful Blue - 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 then scalloped
Certainly Celery - 2 5/8 x 2 3/8, 2 3/8 x 3/4 (trimmed to look like grass)
Whisper White - 2 1/4 x 2 1/2
Wide Oval Punch
Ribbon Scraps
Dimensionals
Teeny Tiny Wishes and Basic Brown Ink
Here is a quick video on this card:
I also have an MDS page for you today! Last week we had some beautiful weather. The sun was shining and the smiles were BIG! The kids grabbed their helmets, their wheels and we spent a few good hours outside together. Here's hoping for more of these days to come:) For this MDS page, I created one large circle, then placed smaller circles around the outside edge. All the DSP is from the Sweet Pea DSP MDS add on.
I am excited to share with you a series of videos over the next week featuring different Stampin' Up! embellishments. I have had many of you request some different product videos so I thought I'd share with you a series of videos show casing them. Today's video demonstrates the glitter and the sticky cuts sheets (with Big Shot).
This card has a "whole lotta bling" on it. I used the Dazzling Diamonds and one of the SU fine glitters.
Here is the quick recipe for this card:
Almost Amethyst - 3 x 6 scored at 3 inches, 1/2 x 2 (banner)
Elegant Eggplant - 2 3/4 x 2 3/4
Sticky Cuts
Glitter
Star Brads
Teeny Tiny Wishes and Elegant Eggplant ink

here is today's card. This was the card I had made for the shoebox swap on Friday night! It was so much fun to do a very casual swap with great new friends (and old:) I'll try and post dimensions later, but I wanted to make sure I could share with you today. I'm off to spend some snuggle time with my boys now:) Here is a video on this card:
