Alrighty, enough about this, I know you came to see a crafty creation...I hope:)  This super fun creation is called a box card and my downline Mitzi taught me this (thanks Mitzi!)  I LOVE this concept as have everyone in my class!  The base of the card uses a full 8 1/2 x 11 inch piece of card stock.  I scord it at 1 1/2 and 7 in the "long" direction and then 2 1/2, 4,  and 8 1/2 in the other direction.  Cut off the corners (all four rectangles that measure 1 1/2 x 2).  Then make the 1 1/2 inch squares into a tab and create a box.  Decorate however you see fit.  Then, "smoosh" the box down so it folds flat and voila...a box card!  For a video check out THIS (thanks Mitzi for this link to Valita).  Hope you like this idea!

And of course it couldn't be more fun since I used the AWESOME Sweet Shop ensemble!  LOVE IT!!!!  I love how fresh the colours are and how happy it makes me!

Donuts anyone?

Happy Valentine's Day to you!  Well, I have about a million projects I should have shared with you BEFORE today, but because we love to show people in our lives we love them EVERYDAY I can share them over the next little while!  (Yes, I procrastinated and didn't get all my projects done in time!)

Mark has a fun day at school today and they are having a little contest in their class for the "heartiest" treat and the cutest packaging.  So, thanks to Pinterest (saw the idea to make cheerios look like donuts....so we used Lifesavers) and then we came up with the Tim Horton's box for the "donuts".  For those of you south of the border, Tim Hortons is a coffee chain that is slowing trickling your way (saw some in Ohio this weekend!)  LOVE their coffee and they are literally on EVERY street corner it seems here in London.  As a matter of fact we have one about 8 houses away:)

Enough about me...onto the project!  So, Mark and I "iced" the Lifesaver candies with some Royal Icing, then sprinkled the hearts on the candy.  We let them set for a few hours and then made the box.  To make the box, I followed the general "layout" for the Bitty Box die and just adapted it to fit the Lifesaver candies.  Here are the dimensions of the box, but again, will vary depending on the treat you are using:

• 5 3/4 x 8 scrore at 3/8(this tab reinforces the sides), 7/8, 4 7/8, 5 3/8 and in the opposite direction I scored at 1/2(this just makes a small tab that slides into close the box), 1, 4, 4 1/2, 7 1/2 
• then I just cut a 3 7/8 x 2 7/8 piece of Early Espresso for the top of the box
• the logo was just cut off a clean coffee cup and voila...a Tim Horton's donut box!

I hope you like today's sweet little project!  Mark is SUPER excited to take it to school today!  Will keep you posted on the contest, although I think he really doesn't care as I made one for him as well so he's just tickled pink!

Whooo doesn't love owls?

I know there are some of you out there that are a little unsure of these adorable little creatures but for some reason I am drawn to these sweet little chubby cuties!

I'm not sure that I shared our little ipod mishap story with you over the holidays.  Mark saved his money for quite sometime to buy himself an ipod.  He and Adam went out and got one during Boxing Week on sale and Mark was just so tickled pink.  Not 48 hours after having the ipod, Cole got a hold of it and SMASHED it on the kitchen floor.  Now this is strange as we have another ipod, he's handled it before and NOTHING.  48 hours in and this ipod was more than hurting!

Luckily we were able to replace the ipod (thanks to a good friend!) but it got me thinking that I really needed to make sure they were "safe".  So I built a sweet little technology holder in our cupboard (will share another day) and I made a case for my ipod and Mark's.  Now they have the heavy duty apple protectors, but I thought I should make something sweet and personal for around that (just because!)

So while on Pinterest one day I saw a cute owl holder and thought, "hey, I can make that!"  So here's my interpretation on the owl holder!  I used some mustard felt and the Spice Cake fabric, along with our buttons.  It literally was created from scraps and took me about 15 minutes to put together!  

I hope you like this little gem as much as I do (well, maybe not AS much, but at least maybe it was worth stopping by on this fine Monday morning!)  Have a GREAT day!

Pillow Gifts

Mid week already!  I love Wednesdays, they are always so busy but lots of fun!  Emma has dance class, the kids come to the gym after school, wrestling and club tonight!  Whoo hooo!!!

I forgot to share with you my pillow gifts from last week.  Whenever my team and I travel to a Stampin' Up! event we exchange a little handmade something that we call Pillow Gifts.  It's a fun way to start the stamping experience!  I'll share what I received (they were amazing gifts, thank you ladies!) in the near future (have to take pictures of them still).  In the meantime this is what I made.

I used the new Twitterpatted fabric (so sweet!) to make these wristlets to hold your keys.  They were fun to put together and were well received.

I got the idea for this project HERE.  I used these metal rings from Michaels(in the sewing section) as I figured we could hook our key chains onto this ring and now you have an easy to find and easy to hold.  Rather than using the batting as suggested on the blog I found it, I used some strapping I had that I had purchased at Fabricland.  I'll try and shoot a video on how I put these together (but don't hold your breath as my "to do list" is rather long right now:)

Don't look too carefully at the stitching (my sewing machine didn't like how thick the fabric was). but this gives you an idea of how it is assembled.  Basically you have two pieces of fabric, one with the strapping in it, sewn on top of each other.  Then you sew it into a circle (use a zig zag stitch) and make sure you put the metal ring in the circle before stitching it together.

Then pick some sort of "wrap" (ribbon, fabric...whatever you like) and sew it over the seam.  And voila....you have a cute key wristlet!  Hope you like it!

Petal Cone Die

It's Monday!  Life is back on track...heading to the gym today with Cole, club is just about ready for tonight, lunches were made and kids are happy!  Now just to catch up on laundry and cleaning:)  Wish me luck with that HUGE mound!  Truly Adam is amazing and while I was away he keeps the house tip top for me, thank you!

Today's creation is inspired by my downline and friend, Renee!  She created a super sweet birthday hat for me so I took her idea and made it into a box!  

I used the Petal Cone die in Melon Mambo and stamped the star image all over it from Sale-a-bration (which starts TOMORROW!!!)  I stamped an additional star on Whisper White and cut it out.

The bottom of the box is just lined with the Lucky Limeade ribbon....love this ribbon!  Before assembling the box, I twirled some 1/8 strips of cardstock and attached them to the inside panels of the petal cone die.  These would make super cute party favour boxes and come together really quickly!  Hope you like it!

Grandma Day!

Happy Monday to you!  It's stamping with Grandma and friends today!  I can't wait!  I love going to my Grandma's retirement home and crafting with her and some of her friends.  I have made some simple cards this month (which I'll share with you soon:) as I have Cole with me today so he may be a handful and the ladies do require a LOT of assistance sometimes so we'll see how we do!  Wish me luck and a whole lot of fun!

Today's project is completely inspired by my GREAT friend Missy Shipman!  I can't wait to see her this week so this post is for her!  This is one of the projects we did at the Tea for Two class last week.  It's a slider package that can hold a tea bag as well as a special greeting inside.

The package is made using the Fancy Favour Box...notice the scallop on the top of the box.  Rather than using the entire box, you only use the front panel (and include about 1/2 an inch tab around on each side) and the back panel.  Attach them together using the tabs and you have a sweet little packet.

Are you loving this DSP yet?  It's called Enchantment and will be FREE starting on January 24th when Sale-a-bration returns!  Can't wait!

The other little sneak peek is the brad on the top...do you see it in the scallop flower?  Isn't is ADORABLE???  Again, it's some free product coming at the end of the month!!!  Get excited as there are some AWESOME options this year!!!

The "neat" thing about the slider card is that the two tags die on the inside doesn't come all the way out.  It is kept captive in the holder so this sweet package all stays together.  I will be sliding a little tea bag under the ribbon in the back and a special little note under the ribbon on the front.  Can't wait to share this with a friend!

Happy Monday To You!

Good Morning to you!  WOW, did this morning come hard and fast!  It's Monday, it's lunches, it's snow suits, it's buses AHHH!!!  Can we get the holidays back again:)  Kidding!  Emma and Mark were pretty excited to see their friends today...we'll see how Nathan does!  I'm excited for my Strathroy club tonight and to get back into a routine!  

Today's post is hard to share today as you have to see it IRL (in real life!)  It is a scratch and sniff.....the chocolate on the strawberry is actually embossed with our new Vanilla embossing powder!  It is SO YUMMY.....I'm in LOVE!  Anything Vanilla is amazing, so this just makes me SO happy!!!!!

This box is perfect for treats for the upcoming "love day" (that's what my kids call it).  My friend Renee made me four chocolate dipped straweberries in a box like this for Christmas....so sweet and yummy!  Of course chocolates would be perfect in here as well....or a box of cards, tags, anything you can think of!

You can't see it in the photo, but the box is wheeled with the new wheel in the mini catalogue as well!

Tea Shoppe

Happy Thursday to you!  THURSDAY...our time off is going by far too quickly!  It makes me sad, but again structure and routine isn't a bad thing either:)  I am so excited I had time to stamp yesterday and take some photos!  So I've got some blog posts ready and also two classes for January!  With the kids home this week, and going to Leadership mid month, it will be a busy month!  I want to run about 12 classes with all the amazing new products, so I suppose there will be more in February:)  ANYHOW, in the meantime, here is part of one of my classes:

TEA FOR TWO

• Thursday January 12 - 7 pm
• We will be making five FUN projects (3 cards and 2 3D items)
• This class is perfect for anyone that LOVES tea or has a tea lover in their life!  I am so excited for this class!

Santa Gift Card Holder

Well, what happened to yesterday....it's gone!  It's Christmas Eve!  Can you believe it?  We are SO SO SO excited around our home!  Today my mom and Bill come over for our Christmas time together, which I love!  It'll be fun with an "active" one this year, although I'm sure it won't take him too long to get it!  Can't wait!  Not to worry, there will be about a million photos!!!!

Are you looking for an EASY PEASY last minute gift card holder?  Hope this can help you out!  I used one of the Stampin' Up! long envelopes for this little "card".  I simply folded the envelope in half.  Then I put the glitter paper on the front panel and the flap.  The buttons are 1/2 inch circles in Basic Black.  The belt is a 1 inch strip of Basic Black cardstock, and then the buckle is the Silver Glitter Paper (1 1/4 inch square).  The middle of the buckle is a 3/4 inch Basic Black Square.  Then the belt simply acts as the belly band that keeps the card closed.

Then when you open the envelope it looks like this.  You can of course add your greeting and embellish the inside OR just hand write a little something.  QUICK and EASY!!!!  So stop reading my blog and go make 50 of them!  Kidding, but maybe this can help with that last minute gift you have.

Adam's 12 Day of Christmas - Day 3

Happy Third Day of cheesy Christmas gifts:)  I forgot to mention to you this morning but I'm so excited....our house has Christmas lights on it!!!  YAY!!!!  Thanks Adam!  These are the little things that just make a relationship work, don't you think?  I get Christmas lights, he gets cheesy Christmas "thinking of you" gifts:)

This is such a silly litlle line, but I had to use it!  "Glad I SKORed you as my guy!"  I hope you like it!

LOVING Burlap

Happy Sunday to you!!!  I hope you are having a GREAT weekend!  Our has been super fun so far.....cheer competition yesterday (went really well...so proud of the girls!), and today we decorated our tree!  I am SO happy!  LOVE LOVE LOVE that it's beginning to look and feel like Christmas!

I know, that's a weird title, but I'm having TOO much fun with burlap these days!  It's a nice cheap crafting medium that is neutral and can be matched with so many things (like Stampin' Up!'s Deck the Halls fabric!)

These were so fun and simple to make.....mason jars with a little burlap twist.  Now, I burned candles in these little guys, but you could create the fun recipe in a jars, homemade hot choclate, or anything else that fits in a jar!  To make these I simple ironed (yes, I ironed!) over the edges of the burlap and sewed them flat.  Then I took some of our Deck the Halls fabric and ironed over the edges.  I then stitched it onto the burlap, marked where the two seams overlapped, stitched the two ends together, embellished and voila....a little mason jar sleeve!!!  FUN STUFF!  Hope you like the quick post today....off to visit with a great friend this afternoon with Mark and Nathan before heading to cheer with Emma.  Hope you have a GREAT day!  (How many Christmas lights do you think Adam will get up with Cole this afternoon:)

Productive Day....but oops!

Good morning to you!!!  It's amazing what can get accomplished at 6 am on a Monday morning!  My boys were up early (therefore I am too!)  I felt energized and ready to tackle the day....so I did!  Laundry, vacuuming, cleaning a bathroom, lunches made, dinner made and still time for breakfast before getting the kids to the bus!!!  WOW (I know....this has NEVER happened and probably won't again!)  In all the fun and excitement I completely forgot to do my blog post!

Oh, thanks so much for the kind words for Mark yesterday.  He was feeling "weird" (his words) that my stamping friends were wishing him luck with football!  LOVE it!  He had a great game (had a great tackle to stop the other team from scoring!) and they ended up winning the city championship!  Way to go Rams!!!  This means two more weeks of football for the Southwest Ontario Championships:)  Gotta love football!!!  Thanks again!

So I know, this isn't "new" but hey, it's a much better picture than what I had of my quilt!  This is the quilt that I submitted for Artisan this past year!  I LOVE it and was so happy to see it today in the Stampin' Success magazine.  

The owls were actually made using My Digital Studio!  I know, nuts, eh?  I designed them in MDS then had them printed on iron on transfers (thanks Chris!)  Then I added the details, like the hand quilting around them, the buttons for eyes and other Big Shot cut outs.  On the Springtime vintage sections of the quilt, I traced the clear flower die (now retired) and hand quilted around this pattern!  Will I make another one....no way!  BUT it was fun to create and am tickled pink to have a great photo....thanks SU!

In the meantime, I thought I'd share some information with you about my online My Digital Studio class!  I am hosting an ONLINE class (Canadians only....so sorry!) on Monday November 28.  I will walk you through creating an adorable swatchbook calendar (that you'll have completed at the end of the class!) as well as some other treats and treasures!  You get to take this class from the comfort of your own home!  How great is that!?!?!  You will have access to the videos and content for 30 days after the class so you can review and check back!  I hope you're as excited as I am about this!  This will be a fun new experience for all of us but I know in the end we'll all learn new and fun things!  Email me for details if you're interested!

Thank you.....Birthday Wishes!

Thank you to so many of you that sent me birthday greetings and well wishes!  It was yesterday and was a great day!  I went into Nathan's class for craft, went to Adam's football game at his school with the kids, ordered in and went to bed early!  Who can ask for more???  (is this a sign I'm getting old:)

On Thursday I had my downline meeting and my tricky ladies sure pulled a fast one over on me.  It was actually very much appreciated (thank you Stars!) and was done in such a fun way - thank you!

Renee made me this sweet birthday hat....how cute is that???  I'm really not sure how she did it, but will find out.  I love how everyone used Spice Cake on my surprises.  I think the curled paper on the top of the hat are my favourite, thank you Renee!

During my downline meeting, different members of my team do presentations.  My mom offered to do a presentation and conveniently asked me if she could go last as she was nervous (starting to think this was in the works for a while!)

My mom demonstrated interlocking cards (that are super cool!)  After presenting the cards and a some fun templates, she demonstrated a box.  I thought this was so super cool and that the circles that folded over the edge actually interlock and "lock" up the box.

My mom then said she needed a hand to open the box as the circles were catching (yes, I still have NO idea what's going on!) and when I opened it up.....check it out!  I love that when my mom ordered the cake she asked for Pool Party icing and Soft Suede (OK, maybe she didn't say those colours...but could have as the colours were a great match!  I did laugh when she told us that she asked the cake store for an extra box as she had to embellish it up!  And it sure was embellishted....check out all the lollies...one is trimmed with ribbon and the other with a dotted edge scallop.

The cake made it home in one piece (although was enjoyed yesterday...thanks mom!)  For the downline meeting we had cupcakes that were so yummy!  But of course my mom couldn't just give out cupcakes they each needed a little holder.  So, all 36 of the cupcakes were in these little gems that each had a lolli flower on it and a scalloped edge top!  WAY too much work and a ton fo fun!

Thank you so much for a memorable meeting, a fun night and being treated so nicely!  I hope your day is GREAT!  Mine is as we are the fundraiser all day today!  Can't wait!

Witch Leg Treat Holder

Happy Saturday!  How are you?  I hope you have had a great week and are looking forward to a great weekend!!!  Now, I know some of you have seen this post already on Facebook, but let me share it with you (with more details:)

I got a call last week from Stampin' Up! asking if I'd be interested in doing a monthly post on their Facebook page.  So myself, and the other Artisan winners from this year were given the challenge to create a Halloween project!  Of course I had to SCREAM YES!!!!  Who can say NO to Halloween!?!?

So, here's the project that I came up with. Here is the supply list:

I will share a few of the instructions on this project for you.  To make the header for this project I used the Top Note die run through the Snow Burst Dry Emboss Folder and folded in half.  The "lolli" in made using the Rich Razzleberry DSP.  I first scored a 24" piece of DSP (two pieces taped together) every 3/8".  BEFORE folding the DSP, I taped a 24" piece of Satin ribbon to the back of the "lolli".  I then accordian folded the DSP and assembled as I showed in my lolli wreath video.

The middle of the header is made using a 1 3/4" Basic Black cirle, with a popped up 1 3/8" circle and an embossed 1 1/4" circle on top of that.  I used the Rhinestones around the outsdie edge of the 1 3/4" circle.  The banner is 5/8" thick with the stamp from Delightful Dozen.  I added just a tad more bling with the Boho Punch and Itty Bitty Punch Pack flower with the Rhinestone in the middle.  

After putting the jelly bean cellophane bags in the middle of the Top Note, I tied the 1/4" Black Grosgrain around the header.  I glued the "lolli" on the header with a hot glue gun.

The witch's boots are SUPER fun!  I was completely inspirted by my purple witch boots I have in my living room right now for these little gems:)  I used the stocking punch for the boot and cut out the heel.  I then used a 1 inch circle punch (with a 1/2 inch punch cut out) on the toe.  (see my video from the witch boot with the stocking Big Shot die to see how this goes together...same principle just on a smaller scale).  The "laces" on the boot are done using the dotted scallop punch which is the same as under the boot top.  I used stick strip to attach these boots to the cellophane bags.

For the love of FABRIC!

I have been having so much fun with my sewing machine lately (and I do have lots to share!)  I have Katie Doggart to thank.....she kept my interest peeked with sewing after sharing the cutest little project with me at my demonstrator event earlier this month!  (thank you Katie!)  Katie made me this super sweet treat holder/coaster (there's a much better name for it, but I can't remember!)  Anyhow, it's in none other than the most amazing fabric ever!

Included with this sweet mat, Katie made me three mini banana breads (one for my mom, Emma and I) and these all came in the cutest little sewn basket.  (Katie got the idea for this basket and pattern from Pink Penguin).

So, receiving these amazing treats inspired me to make a set of matching little coasters to have out on my table.   My project was SO simple....here goes:

• quilt batting - 4 x 4
• fabric - 5 x 5 (two of these)

Iron the fabric over the quilt batting.  Have your seams inside and pin.  Start sewing around the edge of the coaster, then stop the width of the foot from the sewn edge and continue sewing.  You are trying to just keep sewing around and around until you hit the middle of the square (fun!!!!)

Candy Corn Triangle Treat Box

In the meantime, a few of you have asked for quick easy to reproduce Halloween crafts!  I'll be honest, I'm only making a few of those Halloween boots but these would be SIMPLE to make a million of!  (seriously, a million!)  And surprisingly, these boxes hold more than you think.  I love them!

• Basic Black - 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 and then on the diagonals (see video for details)

Stamping, MDS and some family fun!

Well, let me start off by saying WOW WOW WOW!!!!  I think I had the best class in a long time last night!  Don't get me wrong, I love what I do and enjoy my stamping nights, but last night's class was SUPER fun!  The company was amazing, the projects were fun and I went to bed with a smile on my face!  Thank you Bird, Mer, Sundee, Dale, Mom and Sonia for such a fun night!!!!!

Now, onto my multiple projects here!  The VERY first set of out of the new catalogue that Emma just "had" to get was the moustache stamp set (yes, that one that you've all overlooked....at the front of the catalogue in the a la carte section....you know the one, right?)  Emma has made some fun projects with it and I thought it was time I dusted it off and used it!   So, challenge number 1...use this set.

Challenge number 2....make something fun for my kids as it's already been a bit of a long week.  When the kids get off the bus, we often all start heading in multiple directions between cheer, football, classes, dog walking and life but yesterday NO ONE had to be anywhere right away so I thought doing something easy and fun for all four kids would be a great way to start our evening.

SO, what I decided to do was stamp the moustache set on some Whisper White cardstock (in Staz On), cut them out, punch a small hole with the crop-o-dile in the moustache and stick it on a Tootsie Pop (I said easy!!!)  I unwrapped the candies, put them in a bowl, grabbed my camera and was ready for them to come home.  I had to laugh at their reactions and how excited they all were (except Cole, who ripped the moustache off RIGHT away and just got right into the sucker!)  

What did we learn from this?  It truly does take small things to amuse us.  The stamp set was not a waste of my money and we will get many more uses out of it!  My kids and I are going to stamp a million (ok, slight exaggeration) of these and laminate them so they don't get all soggy when on a sucker).  We'll make some with bigger holes for straws to go through as well and we'll make some with no holes as well!  I can't wait!  Can you believe that this $10 stamp set has created this much happiness.....and is including my non crafting son (Mark) to want to craft!!! SO EXCITED!

And then of course, I had to scrapbook the event in My Digital Studio!  I made the moustache out of the bird punch, and the rest of the DSP and elements are from the Big Top Birthday suite!

Another Halloween Treat:)

Thanks so much for all the kind words on my post yesterday!  I am excited to say that's one of the projects we are doing at my Halloween class tonight (which will be an awesome class....can't wait!)  Today's post is another one!  These little gems are floating around the internet and I'm not sure where the idea started from, but here's my take on it:)

I am super excited about this!  Doesn't this remind you of the boots from the Wicked Cool stamp set!!?!  I love the Razzleberry and Black combination.  This box fits either a gift card or some small treats!  SUPER FUN!

AND to top it off....remember the ribbon at the top of this package....it's on the clearance rack!!!  WHOO HOOO!!!!  I do love the clearance rack!  (I've stocked up on striped grosgrain ribbon, the black gems, treat bags and so much more!  Check it out...."retired" items for CHEAP!)

Sorry, back to the project!  This uses the stocking die to make a witches boot.  By embossing the boot, it does hide the seam between the boot and the toe, BUT I intentionally took the picture from this angle so you could see it (wasn't that nice of me:)

Halloween Treat Boxes for Grown Ups....

I LOVE creating Halloween treats (shocker, I know!)  Sometimes though I try and get away from the "cute" and make something for the "grown up" (or as I like to say, the unknown....)  For example, for Adam's secretaries, I would make these boxes filled with homemade cookies or some sort of homemade treat.

Aren't these boxes super duper cute!?!?  I love them!  The box is 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.5, so a decent size....fun, eh?  Each of the side black panels are 3 1/4 x 2 1/4 and then the DSP is 3 x 2.  The top pieces are 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 and 3 x 3.  I embossed the top Old Olive card stock with the spider web embossing folder and then used the Charcoal ink from the distressing kit on the web.

The flowers are made using the 5 petal hand punch (four of these) and then the medium sized flower from the Fun Flowers Big Shot die.  The middle of the flower is made with the scallop circle hand punch.  I cut it like you'd peel an apple core and then wound it around a pair of tweezers (thanks Sundee!)  I am really happy wiht my flower!

Then of course the ribbon was the 1 1/4 inch striped grosgrain and I cut it in half length wise to be a little "frayie" and more "Halloweenie" (yes, they are both words!).  The greeting is from Delightful Dozen (my current favourite word stamp set!)

I Dig You....

Happy Monday to you!!!  I hope that you had a fabulous weekend!  Our weekend was SUPER fun and SUPER busy!  I had a blast and want to thank each of you that I got to see this weekend and to spend time with!  Thank you!

Friday night we had a family party for my nephew, Cohen!  He turned three and we headed out to my sister-in-law's house for dinner and just a relaxing evening!  I was so excited to help make the birthday cake for Cohen as well.  He LOVES dump trucks so we decided to make a dump truck cake (and of course then I got to make a matching card!)  The front windshield was a little wonky, but hey, I only make four cakes a year, right???  

On Sunday, Nathan was invited to his buddy Griffin's fourth birthday!  This party was SUCH A BLAST!  It was fun watching a dozen kids ranging in ages from probably 3 to 8 or 9 playing hockey, lego and just being kids!  They were making their own fun and having a fun!  Knowing I had two parties for two "boy boys" this weekend, I made two of the same cards (and loved them...hope the boys did too:)

Now, the cards were a complete cased idea from Carrie Gaskin (Artistic Avenger).  She had a colour challenge a few weeks back and I LOVED her layout and the colours she was using SO I totally stole the idea (and am giving her complete credit!) swapped out the stamp set (Carrie used Button Buddies) and voila!  I am so happy with it!  Here is the recipe(ish) for the card:

• Old Olive - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, 5 1/4 x 1 1/4, 5 1/4 x 1
• Poppy Parade - Two Tags Die (the tag is cut and shortened to fit on a card front)
• Island Indigo - 5 1/4 x 4

Halloween Fun!

Can you tell that I am GEARING up for the upcoming season???  Okay, I have to be honest with you, I actually did these display items in AUGUST and had them on display in my home since then!  I couldn't resist!!!  Can you blame me??

This first adorable creation was a complete case from Shelli Gardner (yes, THE Shelli!)  She presented this little gem at a Regional event this fall and shared the creation on her blog!  The SECOND I saw it I made 3 (and since then I've made more:)  They make me so happy!!! It really is quite simple....the Petal Cone Die for the body and the Pennant Big Shot die for the wings.  FUN and sweet!!!

After making the three bats thought I needed to display them.  So I hung them on my little IKEA black tree to realize it looked bare!  So, then the banner came to life.  I used the little pennant punch (which I LOVE!) and strung a bunch of them together and dangled it from the tree.  BUT it was still missing something.

So then I thought of my friend Heidi (a fellow Artisan winner) and her adorable swap she made us.  So I decided to use her fun idea and tweak it to make it my own and decorate the banner with a .... badge ... what would you call it!?!?  I like ribbony circle thing, but I'm sure there is something more appropriate out there for it:)

I used the Spooky Bingo Bits on this decoration and just love how the little spider is so cute and happy!!!

As you can see in the middle photo, I have my test tubes and pumpkins on display from last year.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE my bird cage my father-in-law gave me for Christmas last year.  The raven and the Halloween berry stringy thing (again another creative word) is just perfect for the Halloween display.

Yippee....I'm a guest blogger on MDS!

Tuesday's are always exciting as it is MDS download day!  But today is even more special as I get to be the guest blogger!!!  Feel free to check it out on the site if you like (www.mydigitalstudio.net) and be sure to add me as a friend on that site!!!  If you don't have the time...here's the gist of my post:)

I am SO excited to share my project with you today!  For those of you that know me, I LOVE Halloween, so when Andrea asked me to share a Halloween project or idea I screeched with excitement!  After seeing the Holiday Mini and the really cute Big Shot die you can use to create an advent calendar with I started wondering how I could make my own countdown in My Digital Studio.  And, what better holiday to create a countdown calendar for than Halloween!

I decided to just have it be a 13 day countdown (lucky number 13!)  Behind each door, rather than having a treat I wanted to put an activity that we could do as a family.

   

Here are the details on how I made this project:

1.  I created the first page of my countdown calendar first.  I used the square punch for each of the "doors" that will be opened.  

2.  After the square punches were in their exact place, I went to "insert duplicate page".

3.  I deleted all the content in the square punches and then wrote my text in these boxes.  DO NOT move these boxes around or they won't line up when you attach the pages together.

4.  When you're done creating your two pages (the outside sheet and the inside text sheet) send them to Stampin' Up! for printing.

5.  Attach each of the pages to a 12x12 sheet of card stock. (I prefer using the textured card stock as it is more pliable and easier to cut)

6.  Carefully cut each of the countdown doors with a hobby blade. (cut three of the four sides)

7.  Score the fourth side of the countdown door so when it comes time to open the door it opens easily.

8.  Use the 1/2 inch circle punch, and punch out a little crescent from the countdown so you can slip your finger in the slot and open the countdown doors easier.

9.  Using sticky strip, attach the front and back pages together.  I applied the sticky strip between each box and all around the outside of the bottom sheet so when the doors open you don't tear the paper.

10.  Attach the two sheets together so the edges all line up.

11.  Attach a hanger for your countdown.

12.  Have fun with this....I created a "spooky" version for my older two children and the "cute" version for my younger two!

GI Cancer Fundraiser

Well, it's my favourite time of year!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE our GI Cancer Fundraiser.  For those of you that are "new" to my blog or a "new" customer let me fill you in a bit on my story behind this event.  In January of 2004, my dad passed away from GI Cancer at the young age of 56.  For the first few years after my dad passed away, Emma and I stamped cards and sold them donating all proceeds to Cancer Research.  Then my Simply Stars team and I decided to host a full and fun day of stamping to our customers, friends and family.  In the four big events we've hosted, we have raised over $15 000 in honour of my dad.  This is really touching to me, so you can see why this event is so important to me!  My goal this year is to pass the $20 000!  That would be amazing!

Happy Harvestfest to You!

It's our annual festival here in Lambeth so will be a busy, but fun couple of days!  Today's "big" event is the parade...I love that Emma still loves to go (I know it's for the candy, but that's okay!!!)  On a different note, I have NO idea why the video cut off yesterday, I'll see about reshooting it in the near future for you though:)

Today's post is a quick one for you.  I had the pleasure of going to my downline's class a few weeks back and we made this ADORABLE little monkey purse (thank you Laura!)  I love it!  It holds 3x3 cards and will make the PERFECT baby gift!  Isn't it just TOO cute!?!?!  I love it (thank you Laura!!!)

I'd love to fill you in on the details and dimensions but I didn't cut out the pieces or come up with the idea...I had the pleasure of simply making it!!!  What a great pleasure that was!  SO, enjoy the eye candy post today and I may just be back this afternoon as I've been busy crafting these past few days!!!  Have a great Saturday!

Paper Buttons

Happy Monday to you!  I hope you all had a FANTASTIC weekend!  I sure did!  Cottage on Saturday, downline potluck lunch on Sunday...and club tonight!  Can it get any better!  

I am SUPER excited to share today's project with you!  I am recently OBSESSED with paper buttons!  I have made about 50 in the last little while and was waiting to share this project and video with you until I share some presents at my downline meeting yesterday!  So, now I can show you!

First, a few of you asked the other day how I got the wire on the back of my flowers so let me "deal" with that one.  I put a brad on the back of the flower with the ends poking through the flower layers (the backs are hidden behind the buttons) and then I just wrapped the wire around the brad and voila....a secured flower:)

Vintage Baby Tag

Good day to you!  I will apologize now, but today's post is a quick one!  A friend of mine is having a baby girl so I thought I'd begin by making her an album to showcase those first days together!  I haven't created the 6x6 scrapbook pages (but I will!) and YES, I'll share them with you.

Paper Flower Pot

One of the highlights for me while visiting any Stampin’ Up! event is enjoying the beautiful creations made by Stampin’ Up! and other talented demonstrators.  This year’s display was no exception!  The flower garden area (I’m sure they had a much more creative name for it than that!) was amazing!  If you’re on the net, I’m sure you’ve seen a million photos of the area and would agree.  Well, I was completely inspired to come home and create a similar (but WAY smaller scale) version of some of the Stampin’ Up! displays.  I try and decorate and stamp according to upcoming seasons, but often Halloween displays run into Christmas and somewhere in there I forgot fall and winter.  So, this year I’ve decided to try something new in my Stampin’ Up! classroom and I’ve been working on smaller displays that I can keep up year round showcasing our beautiful products.  Over the next few weeks I’ll share with you a video of my classroom and it’s display, but in the meantime, I wanted to share some of the elements I am most proud of.

I loved all the flowers and different types that were on display at Convention.  I’m not very handy or original when it comes to designing my own flowers, but I can copy!  I love the simplicity of these flowers and I think they match the whimsical feel of the Designer Series Paper, Berry Blossoms. 

To cover the pot, I simply Hodge Podged the DSP to the outside of the pot in strips.  They don’t match up perfectly, but I’m okay with that!  The rim was done in a different pattern and then I simply tied some of our flirty Calypso Coral ribbon around the edge and secured the bow with an In Colour Brad. 

The middle of the pot is filled with shredded up DSP that I then crinkled and shoved in.  I actually have a piece of foam about halfway down the pot that I hot glued a few of the shredded pieces to, in hopes of just holding it down (and of course so Mitts – our cat – doesn’t get tempted to eat the paper). 

The flowers are all made using the Island Floral Big Shot Die.  After they were created I spritzed them with a little smoosh to give the impression of a fresh spring rain.  Not sure this was necessary, but I do love the extra little sparkle!

Summer Splash

It's Thursday!  Yay!!!!  Nathan is thrilled to be having some friends over to play (and I have the moms coming....which makes it fun!) AND we're down to four more lunches!!!  WHOO HOOO!  Can you tell I'm super excited??  I love summer and can't wait to have everyone home!  Just imagine the photos I'll be taking when I have 5 subjects at my beck and call:)

Today's projects were fun to put together in preparation for the summer!  A fun little travel pack.  Did you know we sell the clear stamp set cases and they make super fun project ideas!!!  This is a case that holds a bookmark, a few thank you cards and then we printed off some BINGO cards.  Each of the kids have one for our road trips this summer.

The octopus were stamped in Pumpkin Pie and then rock and rolled (edged) in Real Red.  The turtle is stamped in Tempting Turquoise and rock and rolled in Pacific Point.  Each of the components were cut out (a little tedious but I love to cut!)

I hope you like these ideas for this super sweet stamp set!  AND maybe, just maybe, it'll help put you in the mood for summer!!!  Can't wait!!!

Sweet Treat Cup Owl

Top of the morning to you!  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!  Ours has been low key but getting those "necessary" jobs done...you know Christmas lights off the house (yes, in April and sorting clothes....fun stuff!)  But tonight we have my downline dinner for Convention goers so this should be FUN FUN FUN!  I am already so excited although I don't want it to come too fast:)

In the meantime I thought I'd share my last sweet treat cup buddy.  I think this one (or the bee....) are my favourite.  The trick that I love about this one are you move the wings to get the treats out!  We made this little guy in green in Emma's class on Friday and the kids did a GREAT job!

I haven't forgotten about doing a video on the treat cup sliding doors:)  I'll do my best to get it done, although I have a few time lines that are quickly approaching in other areas.  But when time permits I'll get on it!

Sweet Treat Cups ... Take Three!

Thanks for all the super kind words yesterday on the MDS!  I had so much fun with that!  I have big ideas in this department that I'll continue to share:)

In the meantime here's another sweet treat cup we did at my class a few weeks back.  This one may be my favourite:)  I love him!  The stinger on the bottom is the "trap door for the treats!  FUN EH?  I used the oval Big Shot die for the body, the Hearts and Brackets die for the wings, the 2 1/2 inch circle for the head, the ornament punch for the stinger and the Heart to Heart punch for the heart embellishments.  

I think what makes this little guy is the "hand drawn" country feel.  He just makes me happy!

Sweet Treat Cups Take Two

Wow, thanks so much for the super sweet comments yesterday on the frog.  We did have fun making him.  I'm not promising a video in the near future, but I have it on my to do list (which has been piling up a bit lately:)  Since there was such a great response I'll share all the treat cups with you over the course of the week (I'll share my favourite two last....evil, I know!!!)

This one is pretty straight forward to put together and make.  I used the clear Big Shot flower die in Rich Razzleberry.  We used the Sale-a-bration set Solid Stripes on each of teh petals (well, it's a catalogue set but you can get it free!!!)

The leaf is the "trap door" for the candy on this creation (so when you pull out the leaf, the Skittles fall out).  The leaf is from the Island Oasis or Tropical Oasis Big Shot Die (I know, I'm making up names again today!

These would look super sweet in a variety of colours on dowels put into a little flower basket...don't you think?  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

I had so much fun at our Petal Cone Die class a few weeks back.  This is one of the projects that we made.  This is our little Easter treat box....love it!

I used the Petal Cone die for the base of the box.  It uses two of the die cuts in Pumpkin Pie.  We then wheeled the dies using the builder wheels and Pumpkin Pie ink.  After we assembled the box we closed the top.

The "top" of the carrot is made with the scallop punch and the two step bird punch.  To create the scallop I cut from the outside to the middle point.  Then I overlapped the scallop by two scallops and attached it with sticky strip.  This made the scallop 3 dimensional.

The leaves poking out the top are attached in the middle of the scallop.  The greeting is an old one (retired....sorry - I don't get rid of my words!)  I just stamped it in Pumpkin Pie, punched it and then attached the ribbon with the glimmer brads.  

Easy....peasy!!!!  have fun making a million of these for your Easter table favours:)

A rough 24 hours!

What has my life come to?  Can you believe it?  NO internet for about 24 hours!  You'd think I was left on a deserted island with no food or water!!!  Man I was suffering......it's quite pathetic actually.  I was disappointed I couldn't check my emails (will get caught up today), I couldn't get my post done for my "usual" time today and what happened in the world?  WOW, I sure missed a lot of world news, but I will admit I'm okay with my little bubble and enjoyed the 24 hours:)

Well...onto today's post:)  It's a mini easel card with a trap door for treats!  How sweet is that?  We did this last month at club!  I have 3 spots left for my upcoming club if you're interested.  Email me for details:)

Petal Cone Die for the Big Shot

I love this die!  I of course had to buy the die right when it came out in the current mini catalogue....but guess what!?!  I'm thrilled I've ordered it and have done a TON with it!  You'll be seeing lots of projects with this over the next little while...hope you're okay with that!

This first project is actually done with only one cutting of the Petal Cone Die.  This one is cut out of Tangerine Tango.  It is a little pocket card for you:)  Fun, eh?

The cone is closed with Sticky Strip.  The scalloped circle is behind the front flap.  The DSP is punched with the new large circle punch.  Then of course you have a Sweet Stitches button, a little tag shoved in the pocket and then some ribbon wrapped on a "spool".  The spool is just the tab punch cut flat on the top and bottom.  Wouldn't this be a fun little embellishment sampler?

My Digital Studio Hybrid Project

I have been having a ton of fun with creating My Digital Studio hybrid projects.  What does hybrid mean?  Well, it means I created a project using My Digital Studio, printed it off at home and then created a 3D project with it.....

This week is teacher appreciation week and I volunteered to make a little treat for each of the teachers' mailboxes.  But I didn't think I'd have the time to make 45 "real" stamped creations so I created an MDS project instead.

Here are the steps to how I created this:

1. I created a punch that measured 3 3/4 x 2 in MDS and this was my "work area".
2. I then inserted a rounded square and filled it with Basic Black.
3. I then used a vintage overlay stamp, shrunk it right down to be the same size as the rounded square punch and colour changed it to Whisper White.
4. I then used the Schoolbook Stamp set (I forget the actual name) and inserted the abc in Basic Black and the 123 in Kraft.  
5. I then copied and pasted the pattern and put 8 on a page.
6. To make the little tag on the bottom, I created a 1 3/4 inch circle with the circle punch.  Filled it in with a stamp from the same school set.  I changed the colour to Cherry Cobbler.
7. The stars are Summer Sun and are from the stamp set Extreme Elements.  
8. I copied an pasted these circles so I had 20 on a page.
9. I then printed the images off on Stampin' Up! Confetti White Card Stock.
10. I cut out the main image then used the Spiral Edge punch along the edge, mounted it on Basic Black and then made the little folder from Crumb Cake.
11. The thank you was stamped and then punched out with the Modern Label punch and popped up with Dimensionals.

Petal Cone Die Box

Thanks for stopping by AGAIN!  As I said, Nathan and I have been crafting machines, but actually getting around to posting is a whole other story:)

This project is one of the ones we'll be making at my Petal Cone Die Class on Thursday Feb 24.  This is such a fun die with ENDLESS possibilities for boxes and cards!  I can't wait to share more with you!

This is my swap from Leadership that I made.  I didn't actually swap them out, but I made a bunch for some of my Stampin' Up! friends:)  Nathan and I filled the boxes with chocolate covered pretzels.

Valentines....ANY TIME!!!

So I sat down to create the other day and I wanted to make something special for Emma.  I was in need of some "me" stamping (not something for a class or something that was on a time line...just something for fun!)  So I thought I could get a head start on stamping for Valentine's Day.  BUT as I was creating, I started to wonder why I take the time to make these little "I love you projects" for Valentine's and not ALL the time!  I've decided that I want to have "I love you days" in my house, at random, for each of my kids.  So after I was done making this project I simply laid it on her bed, ready for her when she got home from school.  Neither one of us have brought it up, but I know she looked at it.  And this makes me pretty happy!  We don't need to talk about it, but I need her to know I love her.  I'm super excited to do this over time for all the kids (and maybe even Adam too!)  It felt great sharing a project just for fun that I made especially for her!

Okay, enough babbling.....onto the "what".  This is a little folder I made out of a 12x12 sheet of Real Red card stock.  I created a folder that measures 8 1/2 x 5 on the front.  Then I just used the SUPER FUN Love Impressions DSP on the cover with the glimmery shimmery heart (Big Shot die hearts and brackets with the glitter paper!!!!)  

On the left side I made a pocket at the bottom and then punched out a bunch of tags (From the Two Tags Big Shot die).  The I stamped "I love you" from Three Little Words and then hand wrote reasons.  I think I wrote nine or so tags for her and dated them.  I figure I'll continue writing her little tags and maybe someday down the road it may make a cute scrapbook page, or she'll tuck this little keepsake away and pull it out when needed:)

Then on the right I made a pocket the length of the folder.  I thought it'd be a cute spot to write a little message or tuck a little treat in!  I love how the glimmer brads make it pop against the DSP.  I hope you like today's little project!

I was so super excited when we received this stamp set and punch at Founders Circle in September!  It's been so hard not sharing this before now!  I have made a ton of projects with this super sweet set and punch, BUT I ran across a project on Jessica's Blog and I just had to make it!  I loved the colours she used and the concept so I tweaked it just a little bit and voila!  What do you think?

Christmas Bars

2 more sleeps!!!  You can only imagine the noise level in my house right now - primarily from Nathan - he is super excited (a little nervous that Santa will be in our house, and keeps double checking that he won't go to his room.....but beyond that EXCITED!!!!)

With only a few short days left, I thought I'd share a super quick project if you're in need of a quick project to share.  It's my chocolate bar wraps....super simple, but I hope it inspires you!

Frosty Container

3 more days!  Can you believe it!  Hope you're ready!  I've got a few last minute things to do, but we're in good shape here....I think:)

Today's project was one we did at club last month.  It would have been better to photo with the little white snowball candies in it (but I forgot:)

The hat is made using the "petal card" hand punch (I know that's not the name, but I forget the name of it....it's the one that matches the stamp set cute by the inch).  I used the black gems in the mini catalogue for the mouth, eyes and buttons.  The rest of the creation was made with scraps.....isn't the little Frosty container sweet?

The box itself is from Crystal Clear bags, but if I had enough of the thick window sheets you could EASILY make it with the window sheets.  I'd use the following dimesions:

• 5 x 4 1/2 scored at 1 and 4 and 1, 2, 3 and 4 in the opposite direction

Simply Adorned Cupcake

December 21st!  Seriously!  How awesome is that?   I can't wait!  On a total NON Christmas sidenote, any of you stay up to check out the lunar eclipse last night?  I stayed up to see it, but it wasn't the best viewing night.  Hopefully someone, somewhere will have some great photos to check out:)

Anyhow, back to why you stopped by!  These little cupcakes are not an original, and as a matter of fact I've made a ton of them.  I first saw these at Founders and sweet Selma made 140 of these beauties!  I wouldn't want to do 140 but a few are fun!  This was a gift for one of Mark's teachers.  I made her some inserts for the 1 x 1 1/4 inch charm.  So, the inserts were in the cupcake and the charm was in the box tucked in the bottom of the red, gift giving box.  

I had thought of using a cupcake box and started with the template I used in my Simply Babies online class.  Then when I was over at Inking Idaho (Thanks Becky) I saw her cool idea to use a box with a "see through" portion.  So, I combined the two ideas, included a little "step" in the bottom for the necklace and this is what I'm left with:)  Hope you like it!

Happy Sunday!

I am excited for today.  Another family Christmas.  Nathan is bouncing off the walls with excitement!  This will be one fun Christmas around here!

I made a bunch of these candle holders and tags for Christmas.  I love candles, although Adam can't stand them.  He gets bothered by the smell so I usually only burn them up in my studio when I'm crafting at night.  

Anyhow....these little wraps came together quickly for me.  It's two lengths of fabric that go 1 inch further than the circumference of the jar, a piece of batting that is 1/2 an inch shorter than all the sides.  Then I just zipped it through the machine, trimmed the edges so they'd fray, toss it in the washing machine then sew on the buttons.  Voila, a fun and pretty hostess gift!  I hope you like them!

I {LOVE} Fabric!

I know that I warned up but be prepared:)  When the fabric went on sale I stocked up (yes, I mean STOCKED up!!!)  I'm hoping to make a quilt with the fabric but in the meantime I"ve had fun making projects for friends with the fabric.

This is the box that I used to house the gift.  It was quick and simple to put together.  The bottom of the box is 8 1/2 x 11 scored at 1 inch in all the way around.  The lid is also 8 1/2 x 11 scored at 7/8 all the way around.  This just makes the lid a smidge taller to go over the bottom of the box.  Then I just put on some DSP and tied a ribbon belly band with the fabric....quick, simple and FUN!

Now, onto my favourite part.  I wish I could share with you the "full" photo as I had Mark model the apron for you.  He was so funny and full of expression, but made me promise not to show "those" modelling pictures.  So for now, you get the leg shot:)

The base of the apron was simply made with one piece of the fabric right from the package, no cutting, no trimming just the extra large fat quarter size!  Fun eh?

Then the bottom of the apron is made using the Table Trimmings (or Table Settings?) die.  You know, the one with the cupcake wrapper.  I cut 3 1/2 cupcake wrappers per row.  They are curved when cut so when I sewed it together, I pinned them flat which caused them to ruffle!  Perfect!!!

I'm by no means a seamstress (actually I'm sure it would make a seamstress squirmy checking out my sewing job) but I'm getting better and LOVING it!!!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I hope you have a GREAT day!

A Classy Card Set

Let me start by saying a HUGE thank you to each of you that commented on Emma's card.  You've made her head swell a little.  Seriously, she and I both appreciate it!  I love the time she spends with me crafting and I'm glad you enjoy seeing her creations!

This was a fun set to make!  I wanted to make a nice variety for the teachers and Emma's french teacher is "classy".  not that her homeroom teacher isn't, but I'd say whimsical describes her better:)  They are both great so I hope they like their card sets!

This uses the Love Story DSP.  (Everytime I say the DSP I can't help but start singing some good ol' Taylor Swift:)  The quick dimensions on the card are:

• Vanilla - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, Decorative Label, 2 x 4 1/4
• Basic Black - 4 1/4 x 2 then torn
• DSP - 4 1/4 x 5 then torn
• Riding Hood Red - 2 1/8 x 4 1/4

Then I used an assortment of ribbons on the card front with a little vintage brad!  YUMMY!  This layout was cased from a card on Kimberly Van Diepen's blog.  It was a Christmas card and really doesn't look like mine, BUT it was the origin of my card - thanks Kimberly!

So much to do.....

and kids home sick:(  Emma wasn't feeling well today so I had her home from school!  I'm sure all of you can agree that the final week before the kids get out of school is treasured time!!!  So much to get done and also the "need" for a little bit of down time.  Now I know how selfish this all sounds when I have a little patient at home....but I think some of you can agree.  Actually we had a nice, quiet day of snuggling, movies, corking/knitting and naps.  I can't complain and it just makes my to do list a little longer for tomorrow:)

Today's creation is one of the many card kits I'm making for Christmas gifts.  I like to send homemade presents to school with my kids for their teachers.  So this year, we're putting together nine card kits (hope you don't get tired of seeing them!)  My goal is cute, but quick!  Each kit has eight to ten cards in them, using the same layout, just switching up the colours and embellishments.  Today's is a set of birthday cards using the Celebrations DSP, the "new" cupcake punch (will be available to customers in January!) and the cupcake wheel.  Hope you like it!

It's busy day!

Hello!  Just wanted to check in with you quickly.  We have a family Christmas today, which is super exciting, but tons to do!  I'm just making up some desserts and kids crafts so this is a quick post!  BUT I wanted to share with you the gift I received from my secret Santa at my downline meeting.  

It was a completely random drawing but I think this was meant to be!  Check out all the buttons!!!  Don't you LOVE it!  This candle holder and matching card are PERFECT not only because I do love buttons, but because it "goes" with my home decor for this holiday!!!!

More snow....are you serious?

Well, it isn't a snow day today, but there is a lot of it coming down!  It does look really pretty:)

Guess what?!?!? Another snow day tomorrow!

Well, as promised here's another project for today!  But before I share the project we found out we have DAY THREE of SNOW DAYS!!!!  Can you believe it, I'm not sure if or when Thames Valley has ever had THREE snow days in a row!  It's like Christmas around here...the kids were pretty giddy going to bed tonight!  

I thought I'd share with you the project I made for my downline Christmas party.  We had a secret Santa gift exchange and this is the project that I made.  The trees are made with the pennant die.  I used the same size die (the big one) an djust cut it to different sizes.  I cut two layers of each fabric, trimmed the edges and then ran it through the washing machine to fray.  Then I sewed it onto the felt and made a pillow.  Pretty quick and simple.  As you can see I am LOVING the Deck the Halls fabric!!!!  Have a great SNOWY night!!!

My Festive Entrance Way....

has got to be my favourite spot in the house so far.  And the funny thing is no one notices cause you want in the house as fast as possible to get out of the cold.  I can't exactly enjoy a coffee in the tiny little room, because well, it's tiny AND it's cold.  So I'll take a few photos and enjoy it that way:)  Cheesy I know!  

So this is the first stop in my entrance way....the curtain!  I had scraps of the Deck the Halls fabric (ok, that's a LIE...I had scraps from one of my packages....I still have 9 unopened ones that I just had delivered on Friday!) so I made this little curtain.  The bottom of the curtain was made with the scallop circle die.  I did the "rag" quilted look because ONE...I love it and TWO...you don't have to sew or cut straight to make it look great!

The next photo is my Christmas tree.  I wrapped it in a pinecone garland and then accented with some bells.  It's hard to see, but the bells have circles of the Deck the Halls fabric on top of them (three different sizes) frayed and waved then a button on top.  You can see that the tree is on a little table runner....rag quilt style again, with the Deck the Halls fabric (thanks Andrea for the great idea!!!)  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this fabric...have I mentioned that yet?

The decor blocks were actually made last year, but I thought they looked great with this decor.
