Happy day to you! Thanks so much for stopping by today!  We had a major storm the other night and missed a post or two because we've been internet less here:(  Teneale was over visiting the night of the storm and I think the two of us screamed louder than the kids with the BIG boom and lightening!  I normally love storms but this one was rather close to home!

Anyhow, I LOVE this DSP.... Retro Fresh.  It's exactly that - fresh!  I used the speech bubbles framelits on this card, cut off the little dangling things and ended up with funky and fun rounded rectangles!  What do you think?

Oh, Snap!

February 27th!  Where has the time gone!!!!  My kids have been at school now for just about a month here in Australia.  Can't even believe it!  CRAZY!  Time is fliying, and yet there is still so much to see and do:)  

These sweet Retro Fresh journaling tags make for some super sweet (and quick!) cards!!!  I love it!  Just about as much as the colour combination...So Saffron, Soft Suede, Coastal Cabana and Very Vanilla. Looks like sunshine, don't you think?

I like the square stamp from the Peachy Keen stamp set.  It adds for some nice details on the card (see the speech bubble and the So Saffron background piece).  Subtle but sweet!

Baby, We've Grown

I sure LOVE this stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue!  It's so stinkin' cute!  The colours also make me happy....Crumb Cake, Pink Pirouette and Very Vanilla.  They are so soft and subtle.  Just wish I knew someone who's having a sweet baby girl!  

Banners are still so trendy, and it's fun to add extra elements to them.  I love the combinatino of card stock, ribbon and images.  

The button is a fun feature as well and super easy to do.  I just wrapped the twine around my hand after feeding it through the button.  Cute, whimsical and trendy!  For all the instructions and a supply list, check out the PDF below.  In the meantime, enjoy your day!

Best Buds

I made this card the other day while texting my amazing friend Sonia.  So, I suppose it's dedicated to you:)  I love the expression and the sweet stamp that goes with it.  I'll admit it isn't a card I'd send to a lot of people, but it's a card I love and can't wait to make some for my "buds":)

This layout came from Pinterest, using the speech bubbles in the background.  I wanted a little more on this card and embossed some of them in a random order.  I love it!  Can't wait to make more of them using the other bubbles too!

As clean and simple as this card is I also like the assortment of embellishments on this - cute clips, buttons, twine, rhinestones..... YUM!  The other thing I did was marker the edge of my Whisper White card stock.  It's a subtle but simple thing that just adds an edge:)

MDS Challenge - A Day about Me

Well, I have to say right away that this is a challenge for me....scrapbook about myself?  Well, I have to say that I love what Kimberly has done in the past (and today too!) with her pages about herself.  It's important that we journal and include ourselves in our scrapbooking, but I think sometimes we struggle with this....tell me I'm not the only one:)

Well, the challenge today was to do a page about our day.  I cheated a little.... I did a generic page about the fact that here I am in Australia.  Every day is blogged about on our family blog, and I have been scrapbooking our events like crazy.  So, rather than this I just did a page about me... simple and to the point:)

I broke out of my comfort zone and used Sahara Sand today rather than Crumb Cake!  Can you imagine!?!?  There are a few things that I really like about this page.... and it took a few tries to get it to where I was satisfied.  I like how I layered the image on three pieces of "paper".  It helps make the picture pop.  I like that I changed the colour of the ribbon and clip to black so it blends a little more with my page.  Last but not least, I like the subtle words and date in the top right corner of the page.

For the most part, this page was created using the Nobody's Business download (all the stamps and titles were done with this).  I added a little ribbon, stitching and the clip as fillers:)

Perfect Pennants

I hope you are enjoying your weekend!  Ours has been wonderful!  I just love visitig with friends, relaxing and taking it one day at a time!

These colours make me smile....Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Island Indigo and Soft Sky.  Yummy.... what do you think?  It's fairly "random" but happy with the outcome!

I did a little accident that I'm thrilled with on this card front.  See the embossed circles...not intentional!  I used the Circle Framelits to round my bottom corner forgetting that it would then of course emboss an impression on the paper.  And of course I did this AFTER everything was glued down.  SO, I just did more of them randomly on the card front.  What do you think?

The other "thing" I did on this card was use the striped stamp from one of the sets in the Occasions Catalogue (forget the name...) on Crumb cake and then cut them out.  I then used this beside the "a" in the greeting to just add a little extra pop!  Hope you like it!

See Ya Later Alligator!

I just love this stamp set!  It's one of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets.  Actually I have to say this is probably my favourite Sale-a-bration ever!  I don't have all the items yet that I just "need" to have.  I've got time though and so do you:)

I could make a million of these as there are so many people I miss from home.  BUT the good news is we're making some friends here (all of us) and having a great time!  I think Emma has become the most social, which is so opposite to home!  I'm happy for her!  

The colours on this one are the beautiful Pistachio Pudding, Basic Black and Whisper White.  I did stamp the alligator in Wild Wasabi just to give it a little extra pop:)

A Happy Day!

That's me today!  Super excited for the weekend ahead!  We are visiting our wonderful friends the Gilberts!  This is the family that was in Canada for a year on an exchange!  I can't wait to give them all a squeeze!

I can't take any credit for this layout!  I saw this layout ALL over Pinterest with this sweet set, and had to try it in a different colour combination.  I'm not sure I love it, but I love the message so that's all that matters, right?

Starburst Sayings

G'day to you!  Hope your day is off to a great start!  Hard to believe how fast this week is flying by!  Cole and I have had some fun this week, but it's been a lot of just hanging out.  I will be honest to say that I am a little tired of Lego and wish Cole liked to build on his own...but beyond that we really are having a ton of fun together!

Today's card is another one of those using up scraps (although here they aren't scraps to me...I keep everything so I can just keep creating...)  I'm lacking in the supply department so I'm enjoying rationing my stash:)

Nature's Hello

Yesterday I shared with you the adorable and cute hostess set from the Occasions catalogue.  Today I'll shar a creation using the more "grown up" set.  Not really grown up, but a little less whimsical.  This isn't usually my style of card, but I love the look of it.  I will be creating more with this set in the near future:)

Gold is super trendy right now in paper crafting.  It's taken a while to grow on me, but I'm loving it right now!  This card was a quick and clean one to put together.  I used the Washi tape to make the backdrop for the butterfly.  I simply laid it on some Very Vanilla card stock and then cut it out.  

The three butterflies are stamped in Wisteria Wonder and then I hand cut them out.  The sequins add some sparkle to this card.  I think this would be cute as a card set, just swapping out the colour of the butterfly and button... think this could be a future project!

Making a Point

This stamp set is ADORABLE!  It's the hostess set in the Occasions catalogue.  I know you're wondering how you can get this.... you can place a hostess qualifying order and get this FREE plus your other free products OR you can host a workshop (in person or online!) and earn this set.  Email me at [email protected] if you're interested!

We had a lovely dinner at Adam's Deputy's house (vice principal) so I wanted to make her a little thank you gift. I made up six of these with matching envelopes, tied them in twine, made a matching tag and voila!  Clean, simple, cute and quick!

MDS Challenge - a Double Page Spread

Happy Family Day to all my Canadian friends!  Hope you enjoy your DAY off!  Have fun making memories, and then maybe even scrapbooking them:) Cheeky, I know, sorry!

This week's challenge is one that came from YOU.  We love when you ask us questions and we can answer in a future week's post.  You asked to see more double page spreads and how to work on a double page.  So, this is what we've done this week!

Here is your challenge to get you thinking outside the box as well for your page this week:

• create a two page spread
• don't use any designer papers 
• use a minimum of three stamps
• span an object across your two pages

Easy, peasy right!  I know you can do it!

Today's video demonstrates a couple of tips when working on a double page spread and how to manipulate the program to make things easier while creating.

Happy Love Day Everyday!

We are so lucky!  My mom sends us lots of AMAZING mail.... you guessed it!  Great cards!  It was very kind of her, she sent us each a Valentine and even in seperate envelopes!  I have to say it was an awesome treat and we were all super excited!  Thanks mom!  So today's post is just some eye candy for you.  I didn't do a PDF as there are a million different supplies and oodles of creativity!  Thanks mom!  Hope you enjoy seeing her creations today!

Brotherly Love

Happy post love day!  I will share some Valentine's day projects in the next few days with you.  The awesome thing about Valentine's projects is that it just means LOVE and we should express this EVERYDAY!  So I challenge you to do this more than once a year!

I am a huge fan of scrapbooking photos that mean something. This picture just melts my heart as it truly shows the love between my boys.  Nathan (the older one) was crying when we were dropping him off at school.  Cole noticed this and completely unprompted went over and gave his brother a hug and kiss!  Lucky for me I had my phone out to capture this amazing moment!

I Like You

Ahhh....it's true!  Sometimes my favourite cards are ones that happen by accident.  This is one of them. I seriously had scraps of paper out and just started to play.  I'm thrilled with how it turned out!

I used the stamp set Peachy Keen and the Saleabration set for the greeting.  I literally just used the scraps I had on my desk a little bit of stamping and some bling.  Cute, eh?  This one is an under five steps and under five minutes:)

HAPPY Day!

Happy Birthday to my mom!  Or, happy Valentine's to you (depending on where you are in the world!)  The 13th is my mom's birthday and even though she's half way around the world, I hope she knows we're thinking of her and wishing her the best birthday!  In honour of love and celebration I made today's card:)

MDS Challenge - Kimberly's Sketch!

Happy Monday to you....or Tuesday depending on where you are in the world:)  Gotta say I'm still not used to the time change and I actually have kept my phone on "Canada" time just so I remember easily:)  BUT I've caught myself a few times here although haven't been late for anything...yet:)

I LOVE Kimberly's sketch for this week.  Isn't it fun?  I love how whimsical she is and of course her actual page is AMAZING, so don't forget to stop on over and see her page too!

For my creation this week, I tried to focus on using a download that I "love" and had to have, but have barely touched.  It's called Be Yourself.   The "splotches" of colour in the background that look like paint marks and the title are from this download.  I just love it!  I used the colour match tool on my page for today for all the stamps and embellishments as well.

Something a little different, for this page I used photos from my phone that I edited using an app on my phone.  I then emailed them to myself to us on this page.  I love the muted colours of the photos and am really excited to see how these turn out printed!

Some digital fun!

As so many of you know, I LOVE My Digital Studio!  I love the simplicity of the program, I love how I can stay up on my scrapbooking and I love how my stash is never ending!  

I have been using the Finest Simplicity a ton lately!  I love how subtle it is and that it doesn't overtake my pictures.

Box Cards

Well the other day when I had the honour of stamping with Marelle and Teneale, Marelle had created a few of these GORGEOUS box cards! They are so stinkin' cute!  They fold down, fit in a standard envelope and then when you open it up, it sits like a box!  CUTE, eh?  I'm going on Marelle and Teneale's words that the sweet Monica Gale (UK demo...who also rocks!) first demoed this idea.  Not 100% sure on where it came from, but I can say Marelle and Monica definately have amazing samples!  So, I jumped on the band wagon and gave it a shot.

I ordered this stamp set in my starter kit and I LOVE it!  It's adorable and perfect for my munckins!  The colours on this card are Real Red, So Saffron, Pool Party,  Tangerine Tango and Basic Gray.

Simply Congrats Card

I had a GREAT day yesterday!  I had the most amazing day stamping with Teneale and her sweet friend Marelle Taylor!  We went to Marelle's house and it was chalked full of inspiration and amazing displays!  One of Marelle's cards used this adorable stamp set and she had created some tassels.  Aren't they ADORABLE!?!?!  So, with her permission I used a similar idea and created this card.

Word Bubbles....

This is a bundle I just "had to have" before leaving Canada.  I did a small preorder, and this stamp set and framelit set were in it!  AND I packed them to come here:)  I am so happy I did as they are a fun set with GREAT greetings!

This card came together really quickly for me....from the idea in my head to finished was about 20 minutes....so I'm sure once you pick your DSP you can whip these babies up!  Here is my supply list:

In celebration of today's fun announcement I made this fun card for you and a quick PDF (this just means something you can print off).  I LOVE the Sale-a-bration items this year that we can redeem!  I think the Banner Punch (133519) and the co-ordinating stamp set called Banner Blast (133554) are my favourites!  Although as you can see I also used the stamp set See a Later (133536) and the twine from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack (133522).  Oh...and the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder too! (133520)

The colours on this card are So Saffron, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party and Crumb Cake.  Aren't they fun together!  I just love the Birthday banner with the added pop of the pom poms and the button!  What do you think?

My favourite item from the spring catalogue is the Natural Chevron ribbon(132982)!  I LOVE how easy it is to work with and how nicely it lays on a card!  The painted chevrons also help stop the ribbon from fraying so if you cut on the white, you get a cleaner edge:)

MDS Challenge - Freeform Tool

It matters!  I learned something new while creating my page for you today!  It matters how you build your Freeform line if you're attaching the text to it!  Check out my video to show you what I'm talking about:)  I am so glad I learned this one by accident as it's something that had been bugging me!

Sweet Box..

and even sweeter helper!  My wonderful friend Teneale has given me some stamping mojo back!  I have to be honest, it's been a while!  I really haven't "stamped" since early December.  Anything I did create in that time was very modge podge...what I had access to, what was quick.  Not saying I didn't love what I made but it was stamping under pressure.  Teneale kindly invited me to her open house on Friday night and I had a BLAST (and then came home and stamped for three hours!)

Teneale invited me to make this sweet box and tag!  I LOVED that her niece's were at the party and they got to help me, this was awesome!  Bailey kindly picked my patterns and colours!  And as you can see here, Ebony helped me use the envelope punch to make up our box!  They were both such amazing helpers.

Retro Fresh

Happy day to you!  I've given up on trying to name the day of the week:)  It's Saturday night here..just about bed time, and it's the week hours of the morning for my Canadian friends!  Anyhow, my goal is to post daily and the times may vary but know I'm here:)

Retro Fresh an amazing group of products for both My Digital Studio and traditional Stampin' Up! products—whichever way you love to create, this suite is for you!  LOVE it!  This page of my son's first day of school came together quickly using all the Retro Fresh papers and embellishments!
