Stamp with Heather

Happy DOWNLOAD DAY!!!  I know it's been forever since you've heard me say that...or so it feels like it!  I've been so far behind in my MDSing that I've barely had a chance to check out all the amazing new dowloads lately!  BUT the good news is I've stocked up and have the itch to create:)  Welcome me back:)

This BEAUTIFUL card was made for me by my friend Heather A (that is uber talented).  It was the card given to me at my going away party from my team of stampers.  I love how the star stamp is actaully embossed in Cherry Cobbler on Gold paper....isn't it pretty?  Then Heather cut it out, creased it and it's actually popping out on the card!  This is a stunning card in real life (looks great in the picture but even better IRL:)

MDS Challenge....A Card

Well, I do apologize for the tardiness of this post!  I've been trying since last night to get my video to post on YouTube and I've had NO luck.  Will keep trying though:)  In the meantime, this week's challenge is to create a card using MDS.  This was a HUGE challenge for me as I LOVE to create a card with my hands on the "real" thing.  But Santa brought me a Paper Crafts magazine and there was a sweet "love" card that I really LOVED....so I cased it!

This card is so sweet and simple, and truly can't be done easily IRL (in real life:) as I don't have an envelope stamp:)  AND if I did, I'd have to cut them out or mask them.  Instead, using MDS I created a White rectangle punch the same size as the envelop and put it behind the image.  I then locked the two of them together and copied them like crazy!  

I did the same images in the inside of the card but left enough room to write a message....cute, eh?  I actually sent these little gems off to SU for printing as I LOVE how they turned out!

Hello Sweet Friend

Another lovely weekend and time with family!  Adam's brother an family came down for the weekend and we spent the day (and night) at his sister's house playing games and just enjoying MORE downtime!  I hope your weekend was enjoyable.....should say is....still have today to enjoy (and finish off my report cards!)

My sweet friend Anne G made this gem of a card for me!  I love all the distressing put into this card!  The grid stamp with the corrdinations paper is PERFECT!  Love it, thanks Anne!  I also love the few bits of bling added to the card....it pops!

Hate to keep it short, but 15 of us getting ready for church may be a little bit or work this morning)  Enjoy!

A friend....

AMAZING!!!  That's all I have to say about the play last night!  It was so awesome!  The kids both enjoyed it and of course my mom and I did as well!  LOVED IT!!!  It was just a great day yesterday....time with friends, picked up my new glasses, a night out with my mom and munchkins....doesn't get much better!!!!

Today's card is a FAVOURITE of mine....so simple and yet so elegant!  I love it!  My amazingly talented and wonderful friend Martha made this for me. Martha is my "oldest" downline (my first!) and has been with me nearly a decade!  I feel like her mom as I've seen her not only grow as a demonstrator but as a woman....she's been married, has the most adorable boys and is just a genuinely amazing woman....I will miss you Martha!!!!

Again, one of my favourite colour combinations....Crumb Cake, Summer Starfruit and Pool Party!  Thank you so muc Martha!  Hope you're inspired by this card as much as I am!  Enjoy your day!

Elf!!!!

Not sure about you, but one of my favourite Christmas movies is Elf.  AND to make our holiday season even more amazing, Elf is playing at our local dramatic theatre this holiday season!  Emma, Mark, my mom and I are heading to the play tonight....can't wait!  I'll let you know my thoughts tomorrow:)  

Today's creation was made by my friend, Karen!  I LOVE these moving cards and she knows my favouirte colour is Summer Starfruit!  So combined together, I am one lucky girl!  Thank you, Karen!  I love this card!!!!  Hope you do too!!!  

I love all the attention to detail she did by colouring the stamp with the markers to make for a fun greeting (that is WAY exaggerated if she's truly referring to me:)

Happy Boxing Day to you!

I hope you had the most amazing Christmas with family and friends!  Ours was very low key and enjoyable:) We comprimsed with the kids and told them they could wake up at 6:20 but they decided to sleep in until 8!  So funny!  We enjoyed our stockings and then headed on over to the cousins' house!  It was a jammie day full of family and FOOD!

And today proves to be another down day so we are slowly packing stuff up and organizing for our adventure that begins in LESS than 3 weeks!  Can't even believe it!

So, in honour of our departure and of my cleaning up I thought I'd share with you the beautiful creations that were given to me by my amazing team and downline a few weeks back.

Happy Christmas Eve!

WOW!  Can you believe it....Christmas Eve!  Where is the time going???  I am usually so on the ball....this year, no so much, but it won't interfer with our fun and memory making!  Love that we are having my mom and step dad over today!  It'll be a nice, relaxing day!  And then Mark is off to the hospital to volunteer...love that he learned such a life lesson last year being on the receiving end and this year he can be on the giving end for ohers!  I've got the best kids ever:)

I've had fun creating some "WAHOO" cards for my team these past few weeks.  I used my Paper Pumpkin creations with some tweaking to make some of the cards!  LOVE that Paper Pumpkin has enabled me to make cards quickly, but to personalize them and call them my own!  What do you think?

MDS Challenge - Spice up your Photos

Howdy STANGER! How are you?  I've missed you and appreciated your emails!  It has been a whirlwind of two weeks!  Trying to prep for the holidays in and outside of class have proven to be a challenge, but successful!  I will say I had my best teaching day EVER on Wednesday and am almost ready for Christmas, I know, times a tickin:)  BUT I'm glad to be back....and guess what, I have a post for you EACH day this week!!!  

This week's challenge for you is a quick one.  It's about sprucing up your photos.  Sometimes I take a picture with the intent of adding some bling to a picture (like this one) and other times, it just needs it:)  I LOVE that MDS can do this for us!

For this picture, we painted the antlers on a piece of bristol board.  Then added the pom pom to our munchkins' noses.  Now comes the MDS magic....add some stamps, colour match, a little bling and VOILA!!!  We used these for the front of our Christmas cards for our sweet munchkins....what do you think?  Easy peasy and adds a WOW factor!

Well, off to the eye doctor we go....the joys of teaching full time I've had to schedule all my appointments in my "off time"....like the rest of the world!  I will admit I was spoiled in years past:)  Well, have a GREAT day!!!!

Playing Catch Up

Happy Hump Day!  Well, we finished!  Pam and I made 26 Gingerbread hats and are ready for our Christmas concert at school today!  Will share photos later:)  They turned out pretty cute, but took a LONG time!

I'm trying hard to get caught up on my scrapbooking this fall!  As I think I shared, Mark's football team won the London Football Championship but I didn't scrapbook it!  I am thrilled with the final page....I just used the Game Day template and tweaked it to suite my needs for the page!  I had Mark pick the photos he wanted to use and think he did a great job!

MDS Challenge - Quick Christmas NEEDS

Happy Monday to you!  Can you believe it's Monday already?!?!  I can't!  It was a fun weekend though... a Family Movie Night at my school on Friday, birthday parties and cleaning/packing on Saturday, Christmas tree picking, football and a nice dinner out with friends on Sunday!  Whew....and now, back to Monday!

I'm not sure about you but I am WAY behind in my Christmas prep....like I haven't bought ONE present yet.... seriously!  NOT ONE!!!  And we have our Family Christmas on Saturday and I've done NOTHING to prep for it!  Yes, that's right..... but you know what, things always come together and it's about the time together so I'm not worried!

SO, to save me some time, I whipped up a few MDS projects...the best feature of MDS....the quantity you can print.  Create it once and print it a million times with no extra effort!  WHOO HOO!

So, I quickly have demonstrated a few things you can do with a sweet photo:

1. Top left - a Cookie Swap invitation using a photo and a couple of cute stamps
2. Top Right - same idea but stepping it up a little using the Top Note punch
3. Bottom Left - a tag....all of Cole's gifts he is giving this year will have this tag on it.  Yes, it's a 1/4 of a page, but he writes his name really big (and he'll print that on the back)
4. Bottom Right - a card front for a few of the Christmas cards I still need to print!

Easy peasy, right?  AND the best part is I've created full pages with each of these images on them so I can send them to Staples, get them printed, cut them out and VOILA!  My work is done!  I'm super excited to get something off my "to do" list!  how's your list coming!?!?!  Thanks so much for stopping by and dont' forget to check out our Facebook group for TONS of samples and ideas!

Daily December!

Well, I'm up for a challenge....and this will be a challenge for me:)  I'm going to try and create a "memory" or experience each day with my family and document it as we prepare for our upcoming holiday season.  It may be a little tougher this year as we're scaling back a bit with our decor and prep but most importantly we will have fun together!

This page was fun to put together...it's easy to do when you have a great subject to scrapbook!!!!  Cole LOVES the snow!  He didn't realize I was taking his picture through the kitchen door when he was playing on the window!  SO FUN!

This page uses the download Daily December....it's a fun and festive download!  Hope you like the colours and patterns as you'll see a bunch of creations with it I'm sure in the near future!

MDS Challenge - Blog Headers and Facebook Headers

Happy Monday to you!  Hope you all had a WONDERFUL weekend!  Ours involved packing and tidying.....UGH!  Not my favourite thing to do!  I didn't realize just how much stamping stuff I have....well, I did, but when having to pack it, it seems like even more!

For this week's challenge, I thought I would share with you how I go about making my Facebook and blog headers.  They are EASY PEASY to do, and really seem to wow people!  This banner is one I made in about 3 minutes on the weekend for my Facebook page.  I wanted something a little more festive and I think I did it:)

There are many ways to accomplish this, but my favourite is to just design in on a 12x12 sheet, then save my page as a jpeg, import it into iphoto, crop and voila!  I do the same thing with my Blog headers:)  Check out my video to see how easy peasy this is!

Oh where, oh where....

has Heather been!?!?!  I know, I've been VERY neglegent!  I appreciate all your kind words and messages.  Things here are great, just crazy!  I've had lots of questions about my blog and I'll be honest with you.  I have not had time to do much stamping lately....between preparing for our year long adventure, preparing classes/clubs, teaching and crocheting 25 Gingerbread hats (for my AMAZING class) life has been NUTTY!!!!  My HOPE is to maintain my blog, and actually get some stamping time back in my life not only soon, but also when we are abroad!  I plan on crafting with Cole, and with friends......and can't wait to get stamping back in my life!  So please, keep visiting back but know it won't be daily for a while:)  Thanks so much!!!!

Now, onto today's CASE!  My dear friend Marion made me this card and I just had to case it!  It's BEAUTIFUL!  I love the colours, the layout, everything about it!  Thank you Marion!!!!  Don't you LOVE it!?!?!  I used dimensionals behind the three layers and anything else that "pops" on the card.  I thought it would take me a long time to make these little gems but in actual fact mass producing was easier than making one and making 10 took about the same time as one:)  I love cards like that!!!!
