Happy Birthday......

Well, I have so many cards to share from amazing people in my life, I just have to get around to posting!  The countdown seems to be on for the holidays and for our year away.....and the "to do" list is GROWING by the minute!!!  Not sure if you're feeling the same way, but realizing that December is this coming weekend FREAKED me out!!!!

Sorry, onto today's card....my mom made it for me for my birthday!  I think it weighs about ten pounds and used seven packages of dimensionals!  It's amazing (as you can see:)

The colours are Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler and Basic Gray.  I love how my mom used the paper piercer and templates all around the card....fun, eh?

And of course the way the card opens is just too cool!  I'll TRY and shoot a quick video to show you how she made the framework for the card!

MDS Challenge

Happy Monday to you!  Hopefully you have had a wonderful weekend!  Ours was full of fun, family, friends and SNOW!!!  Will share a page in the next few days of our snowy adventures!  Before I get on with today's challenge, I thought I'd also let you know that I played paintball this weekend (with 25 or Mark's closest football friends and coaches!)  And can I say....LOVE!  It was so fun!  I can't wait to try it again sometime!!!!  

This week's MDS challenge is a little different than usual.  As some of you may be aware, Kimberly's Prince, Russ, is still in hospital and their family is in need of your thoughts and prayers.  So I thought rather than creating an MDS video and challenge this week, I thought we could shower Kimberly and her family with love and create thinking of you cards we can post on our Facebook group.  

Although we all love a "real life" in the hand card, I know that Kimberly will feel the love seeing all YOUR amazing work!  So, if you're not on our Facebook group, I encourage you to join.  If not, feel free to send her an email, or comment on her blog (here) and let her know you are thinking of her!

Football Thanks

Happy Friday to you!  Well, I hope you've had an amazing week!  Ours has been!  It's been a wonderful week at school, some really fun activities with the munchkins and lots of great dialogue!  This makes me so happy!!!  And of course at home was crazy busy but soon we won't have that so I'm enjoying the chaos as we survive through it:)

Well, I SQUEELED with delight this week when I received my Paper Pumpkin in the mail!  I have to say it might just be the BEST yet!  It came with these ADORABLE stitched stars that I HAD to copy!!!!  So as you can see, that's what I've created here on this "manly" football card:)

This card came together super fast (for Mark's coach).  It's Crushed Curry, Night of Navy and then the ball is in Soft Suede.  I used the awesome Downtown Grunge to add some depth to the card and football (thanks Mom for the idea:)  The hardest part of the card was sewing together the stars:)

Well, I hope your Friday is full of fun....ours is a "Marvelous Moustache "M"arty in honour of "Mo"vember" today!  Don't ask!  BUT the kids are engaged and loving it at school!  Take care,

Sweet on Christmas

I am in LOVE with the Sweet on Christmas MDS download from last Tuesday!  It is ADORABLE!!!  I was thrilled to have it and use it for my fundraiser yesterday!  

First, my mom and I did water bottle labels for the tables...they look so much prettier than the ugly water bottle labels:)  To create these took under five minutes!  I just filled the background paper with one of the GREAT papers from the Sweet on Christmas download.  I then added the border strip (again from that same download), the punch and gingerbread man.  EASY PEASY!!!!  I added the thank you greeting in the Very Vanilla as well as the GI Cancer Fundraiser date.  Simple!

I then send the file to Staples and have it printed for 40 cents a page!  Seriously!  Then just cut out the labels and tape them to the bottles!  Aren't they cute???

My good friend and downline Martha taught me how to make these sweet thank you treats!  She has a GREAT tutorial on her blog (CLICK HERE).  She is AWESOME and has taught me so much!  I think these little gems were well received and of course looked great since they matched the water bottle labels!

Today's the DAY! Fundraiser Day!

Shocker....Color Me Christmas!

What a GREAT week so far!  (for the exception of 26 kids in snow suits yesterday!)  On Monday night, my amazing team of demonstrators and friends surprised me with an early going away party!  I was BLOWN away and felt very loved, thank you!!!!  And then, Tuesday's beautiful snowfall put me in great spirits (I love the snow - for the exception of the 26 snowsuits...have I mentioned that one yet?).  AND to top it off, the downloads this week from Stampin' Up! ROCK!!!  They are AWESOME!!!!  I had to buy three of them!  I know, I know!

ANYHOW, I'm sure you're surprised to see a Colour Me Christmas card on my blog!  This one was made by my mom!  LOVE it!  The Washi tape background makes the card pop!  Having the reindeer on the card on top of the diagonal embossing folder is adorable too!  Love this card, thanks Mom!

Well, off to work I go!  Wish me luck....more snow which means more mitts and snowsuits:)  FUN times!

MDS Challenge - a Quickie!

I hope your weekend was amazing!  Ours certainly was....a reason to be a proud mom and wife.  I certainly am blessed with an amazing life.  One of my favourite days of the year is today, Remembrance Day - it's a day of reflection and appreciation for those that have served for our amazing country and of course those that are training or still in service.  I am grateful - grateful to call Canada my home and have the freedoms that we do.  Thank you.

It's MONDAY which means it's time for this week's MDS challenge!  It's my turn...and I have to be honest, I had to do a quick one....this week has been CRAZY BUSY!  I have a million photos I want to scrapbook so I can take advantage of the AMAZING sale with Stampin' Up!'s print sale this month!  Sometimes this means, use what's already been created for us!

So, that's today's challenge....a FIVE....yes, FIVE minute page!  Select a template you love, tweak the colours to work for your photo, insert your photo and voila!  You're done....seriously, that easy!  Check out my video on a few tips and tricks when using the templates!  Hope you like this week's challenge!

Happy Sunday!

Yes, you guessed it!  Another Colour Me Christmas sample!  I've had a ton of fun creating with this set!  And even better, I'm getting lots of cards made and ready for mailing using ONE set!  That was a goal this year....although I caved and bought a few others (which you will see samples with:)

This sample is actually one made by my mom:)  I love how she layered the Washi tape on the cardstock for the little pop behind Sanda!  Cute, eh?  AND the buttons done with bling (and pom pom too!) just add to the pop!  What do you think?

Well, it'll be another fun day around here!  Yesterday was a successful cheer day for Emma!  Their routine looked awesome, Emma stuck her tumbling and they received gold!  Way to go HEAT!  And today, Mark's football team is in the LMFA championship game!  SO FUN!  I'm a bit sad we only have two more weeks of football after this week, but then again it is getting a little chilly:)  Enjoy your day!

Monster Maniac!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stamp set...Monster Maniac!  It was a stamp set created by a demonstrator that Stampin' Up! reproduced!  I LOVE IT!

I thought this stamp was a perfect fit with the "WAHOO" stamp from Paper Pumpkin kits.  I needed to make up some cards for some people at school so I whipped up 10 of these in no time....LOVE THEM!!!

The colours on the card are Coastal Cabana, Pistachio and Strawberry Slush!  LOVE it!  I used our Notecards which are perfect for these little quick cards AND they come with envelopes!  YAY!

Well, off to Mississauga Emma and I go for a cheer competition!  Can't wait!  Enjoy your day!

Colour Me Christmas...again!

Happy Friday!  Are you sick of my samples with the Colour Me Christmas samples?  I'm trying to get as many samples made up before my fundraiser on the 16th!  AND it's an easy set to use and love!!!!

I must apologize and thank you for being so patient with me!  I know I'm not posting as frequently right now, and I'm hoping that will change.  It's been a crazy few weeks.  We have had some challenges at school and my partner in my class and I are working really hard to try and get things on track and have 25 happy little bodies:)

I must admit though I do miss stamping!  It's been TOO LONG and I need to get some ink on my fingers:)  I hope your day is a good one, I have a great feeling ours will be!

Happy Birthday Cole!

Can you believe it!?!  My baby is four today!  I can't!  He asked for a Christmas card for his birthday so this is what he got!  (this is why we LOVE Cole so much, he's a quirky fun individual!)

This card is made using none other than the Colour Me Christmas....are you sick of it yet?  I LOVE IT!  I stamped the Santa on Whisper White and coloured him in, then cut him out:)  I mounted him on the BEAUTIFUL burlap ribbon!  Isn't it sweet!

I am loving the randomness of bling I've been seeing and doing lately.  I like how it makes the image pop when you strategically place the bling around him.  And of course the washi tape is a no brainer!  LOVE IT!

MDS Challenge - Check out the difference a shadow can make!

Happy Monday!  Well, we had a successful weekend!  Emma had an AMAZING cheer competition in Ohio (I didn't get to see it live, but thanks to a friend I saw a video and they looked GREAT!)  Mark's football team was on FIRE last night and secured their spot in the championship game next weekend!  That's a ton of fun, can't wait!  And well, Nathan and Cole just loved time together and the Halloween treats tiding them over....anyone else sick of Halloween candy?

So, onto the page at hand!  Kimberly's challenge this week is a fun one....shadows!  It's such a SIMPLE thing to make POP and add to your page!  I LOVE it!  So I thought I'd make this page for you...the first page has NO shadows....it's still fun, right?

The second page I added shadows to the photos, title, buttons and embellishments:)  What do you think?  If you click on the pages and blow them up you'll see what a difference they make!  And of course, dropping shadows is EASY PEASY!  Simply click on the item, select the drop shadow button and voila!

Did you know....

it's digital scrapbooking week!?!?  I guess yesterday was "the" day, but Stampin' Up! is celebrating it all week long with deals and specials???  You have to check out www.mydigitalstudio.net for amazing samples, specials and contests!  

In honour of digital designing you'll see lots of pictures this week created using none other than my favourite, My Digital Studio!  It is SPECTACULAR!  It is a computer program that allows you to express your creativity on the go!  LOVE IT!!!

Today's page is mainly done using the woodcut outs download (this layout is even in that download!)  I changed the colours of the triangles on the page, added an overlay to the back of the page and the football helmet....quick and easy!  I was honestly done this page in about 15 minutes!  LOVE IT!!!

Freakishly Festive

Well, Halloween was a success....sortof:)  I only say sortof as it was a different Halloween for me....but I think I'm okay with it!  I have never bought the kids a store bought costume, not because they didn't want them but because I LOVE making them.  Part of the joy of Halloween to me is being creative and coming up with fun costume ideas!  This year, time just didn't permit it and I was originally really upset about this, but my kids were happy so why should it bother me....right!?!?  I'm slowly learning:)

Anyhow, enough about my sad story...on with the fun!  Nathan was invited to a Halloween party last week and he dressed up as Bumblebee for the party!  This super fun download is the Fright Night ensemble!  SO FUN!!!!
