Sorry for yet another post but that restaurant I told you about is only about 15 mins from where you are staying and La Jolla is about 30 mins. Also Stone Brewery has great food and is also in San Marcos. It is a local brewery with great atmosphere too! Maybe 5 mins from you ;o)

Glad to see you are having fun in my hometown! I grew up about a mile inland from the Carlsbad outlets, and spent most of my adult life there too! I am only 35, but I traded the beach for the mountains 6 years ago to be closer to hubby's hometown in Northern Colorado. I do miss the beach and friends and family but I still visit the area yearly and even spend time at my mom's hotel and restaurant in Baja California Mexico. Just 40 mins south of the San Diego Airport. I feel very much at home hear in the Rocky Mountains though, as I grew up visiting family in Calgary and Bristish Columbia. My mom was born and raised in Canada. I am even so lucky to have dual citizenship and I lived in Calgary with family for a year while I was in high school. Anyway! Enjoy Southern California!!! It truly is beautiful!

If you are near the outlets again just 5 mins North is the greatest restaurant called Beach Break Cafe. They have AMAZING breakfast and are located in Oceanside. Nothing there is a disappointment, they used to be a hole in the wall frequented by surfers but recently upgraded to a bigger location, but they still have not lost their charm or great food and service ;o) Also if you are looking for amazing beaches and cliffs, and even visiting seals on the beach , drive south to La Jolla Cove. It is beautiful there, and some great shops to walk through as well. There is even Kayaking tours there and snorkeling tours too! Enjoy your trip! Always love your projects and blog ;o)
