Happy Monday to you! Well I can honestly say I'm exhausted! It was a LONG day yesterday getting home from San Diego, but we are home safe and sound! Our MDS post this week is all about creative journaling (and lots of it!) I have had many questions this past week about how I get my text to fill the pages in my San Diego album so we decided to focus our pages this week on "the story" (or the journaling). I have actually created pages without any photos on it at times because I want to share a story....and when I create a family trip album I love to include a ton of journaling (often written by my kids) so together we can remember these great memories!
Today's pages aren't necessarily "wow" pages. I think they are clean, simple and will look great in my finished book. When I create a scrapbook for a trip, I tend to pick one colour combination (in this case I'm using Basic Black, Coastal Cabana, Cherry Cobber and Whisper White) and one download (I'm using Bookstagram). I will pick out embellishments that I can't live without (like the stitching from Family Fun or Washi Tape) but beyond that I keep it clean and to the point:) One other thing I do differently in my trip albums is I create double page spreads. I usually have a ton of pictures one one theme so it's not usually a problem to fill two pages:) BUT the two page spread I'm sharing with you today are actually two unrelated pages but I carry the same theme between the two pages just to show you something a little different:)
Today's video demonstrates a few things for you. The first is how I creatively use text boxes to fill a page and tell a story. The second is how I create my "trip" scrapbooks. I always do "creative" books for my family yearly scrapbooks and when I create an album for trips I tend to include much more journaling and I stick to one theme. I walk you through the beginning of my San Diego album so you can see what I mean!
Don't forget to stop on over to Kimberly's blog to check out her awesome sample for today as well as our Facebook Group ....where there are lots of samples and even more fun. Have yourself a great day!
Thank you for stopping by!
Hugs,
Heather

Heather, this is soooo helpful to us amateurs out here! What size of type (10 - 12) do you use to journal? It is all so small on screen. Now I really know I need to re-visit the saved pages of my last trip!!
