Emma and I have been having lots of fun playing with the Pop Up cake die. Emma has had some FABULOUS ideas for using the die beyond a cake that you'll see over the next week or so!
Some of you have had questions about the size of the card. You can easily get away with making a 5x5 card, however, if you have anything popping out of the top of the creation, your card needs to bigger. This card is 6x6.
Other questions have been....shipping! If you mail one of these babies in Canada it will cost you $1.18 as it is too thick to fit through the standard slot and the envelope is slightly bigger.
This leads me to the question, " how do you keep the card closed?" There are lots of ways, ribbon, a belly band, velcro, magnets or simply shove it in an envelope! I think once someone receives a card like this they will keep it open on display.
Something worth noting about this die, and any of the large ones from SU is that they do not fit in the Cuttlebug. They are too wide for the opening in the Cuttlebug....sorry:) BUT, I have 2 spots left in my pop up class on the 27th and you'll get extra cut outs from that class to make more of these at home!!!! Evil, aren't I?
The flowers for this card are from the Daisies Die for the Big Shot. It comes with these three sizes that layer so sweetly! The tips and middles were all sponged with More Mustard. The Leaves are from the leaves Big Shot as well....can you tell I LOVE my Big Shot!!!
The ribbon is wrapped around the top layer of the pot and then the bow was tied and attached using a jumbo glue dot. The button is from button latte, cute eh?
Anyhow, I hope you like this one. Have a wonderful Sunday!
Heather, this card is amazing and I would LOVE instructions on how to make it. Could you please post instructions or a video on your site? Fantastic job!

That is amazing! I figured I wouldn't be buying the pop up cake die since I couldn't see myself using the die very often. Now I'm not so sure! :)

What a cute idea! I just ordered the cake die. I have the ball die and love it. Only problem I have is keeping the card shut. Not sure how to solve that problem. Going to try and cut it out using dsp and see if that helps.
Thanks for sharing. Love all your pop up cake cards.

This is genius. What a great idea. A note on your note. The dies do fit the cuttlebug, the cutting pads do not, I found out first hand -- live and learn.
