Emma and I had such a fun time this weekend making pop up cards!!! You know I'm starting to think this was the BEST investment EVER!!! I love this die and I can't sleep at night as I keep thinking up other things to create and other ways to use the die....if only there were more hours in a day!
I will shoot a video a little later this week on making the upside down cake AKA flower pot. Thanks for all the requests! This is a bit of a nutty week for me but I will try and do it before the weekend!
This first card is for a friend of mine that just had the sweetest little baby boy! I thought that the Noah's Ark theme would work for a baby card and also for this pop up cake! So just like what I did for the pirate ship (you can check out that video if you missed it) I used the cake die in the standard method BUT added some animals to the boat. Now, I realize they should be 2x2 (Emma kindly pointed that one out to me) so I may just add the doubles on the backside OR hope the recipient of this card doesn't mind!
The stamp set used in this card is Wild About You. The faux stitching was all done using SU markers. Hope you like it!
This is all Emma's creation! How smart is she!?!?!? She wanted to make a bee hive and use the super sweet bee stamp set from the catalogue (Just Buzzin' By). She actually stamped the hive and then cut out the greeting "hive sweet hive" and attached it here to her layers. She hand drew in the door and then added all her dancing bees! Didn't she do a great job!?!? I can't wait to make my own bee hive!
Hope your Monday is off to a great start!
I esp love the Noah's ark.. thanks for sharing... Deb

Heather, I just wanted to say how your pop up projects inspired me to purchase a Big Shot and the pop up cake die! I received it yesterday and made my first card last night!!! Also inspired by your punched out Cupcake, so its definitely a Heather 2 for 1 card!!!!! I would love you to take a look on my blog at my Tower of Cupcakes!!! Jules - SU Demo in the UK

Hey everyone,
I saw the article about birthdays, and since it is my best friends 21st birthday coming up I wanted to add a quick comment. Birthdays are great! For my close friends I always organise a little gathering for drinkies in the evening, or a nice meal out! I try and go that little mile for my friends! As part of their day of surprises, I tend to send my friends a little electronic Happy Birthday greeting in my lunch break! I have done my research and tried loads of different sites, and have finally found the perfect Free Birthday e-Card site. This particular site has an awesome application where you can upload a photograph of yourself and incorporate it into your card. This is such a clever idea, and adds that personal touch, and as I already mentioned this particular site is totally free. I think e-Cards are definitely worth a try, they are not for everyone, but I am becoming a fan! Just wanted to share my findings with you all. Have a good rest of your afternoon, Nicole.

Love the Noah's Ark! My nursery was decorated in Noah's Ark when my children were babies - now they are teenagers. My nephew is named Noah also. You are going to make me get this die and I am trying not to buy too much!
Thanks for sharing.

These are both fabulous. Good job Emma!
Heather, I was just wondering why my cake is round instead of oval. Did I wrap the sides around to tighly or what?
Or perhaps you scored your sides to make an oval look.
Please let me know.
