First off I have to start by saying I MAILED 5 CARDS TODAY!!!! This is a record! AND, they weren't really for "anything" special. I am so proud of myself!!! OK, enough about me....let's talk about the card.
Recipe:
Stamps: Frosty and Thanks Snow Much (my first Christmas set I ever owned...I can't seem to part with it!)
Colours: Real Red, Pixie Pink, Bashful Blue
Other: Red Gingham, Scallop Punch, Both Large Circle Punches, Scrapbook Paper from Winter Bright, Faux Stitching and tissue paper
Tissue paper????? I know it's tough to see in this picture but I wanted to try Beate's faux silk technique that is posted on Splitcoaststampers. I modified her tutorial though as I wanted my snowman to be a bit 'blurry' to make it look like snow in front of him. Not sure how successful I was but I am happy with the effect. Here is a quick synopsis on the technique.
Frosty is stamped in Basic Black and then I coloured him in with markers (and a blender pen on his body). I then took a piece of tissue paper (from Christmas gifts!) and stamped snowflakes all over it. The tissue paper is bigger than my paper. I then crinkled the paper into a ball and opened it back up. This is where my technique was altered. I then used my glue stick and glued my tissue paper onto the Frosty page. I didn't want to rub a glue stick all over Frosty as the marker would have smeared. After the tissue paper is on I just cut around the edges and that's it!
Have a great day!
Great card- I have this frosty stamp and I love what you've done with him
