Sneak Peek!!!

WOW!!!!  Thank you to each of you that commented and emailed me while I was away!  Emma and I had a BLAST on cruise!  It was so fantastic to spend time alone with Emma.  You can count on LOTS of upcoming scrapbook pages of our Bermuda adventures.  I have to also add that I am so fortunate to work with a company as fantastic as Stampin' Up!  They sure know how to treat their ladies....we were spoiled rotten and I think everyone on the cruise would agree it was such a great time away!  I'll show you some of the extra bonus incentives this week of earning the cruise!

This is a sneak peek of one of the new stamp sets upcoming from the future catalogue.  It is called Owl Together Now.  The actual stamp set isn't posted here but there are lots of samples with the stamp set on this board.  We actually got this stamp set one night in our room (in a super cute bag I might add!!!)  It was the set we used for our make and takes and I'll tease you with some samples this week!!!!  It is a fantastic set for watercolouring as well!  I appologize Emma's head is in the way of one of the cards but she was quite intrigued by the set!

This last picture has to be one of the highlights for me of the Stampin' Up! demonstrations.  There is a general session one morning on the cruise (completely optional) but this is where they spill all the good news and share all the new stuff with us so of course I had to go.  Well, one of the demonstrations was how to make this "MANLY card!!!"  I forget the man's name that made the card but he was saying he always wanted to make a card he could be proud to send his friends so he progressed by showing us how to make this card....is it not the BEST????  He used the heat gun, the sanding blocks, brads and so many other things to make this cards from sheet metal. 

This is quite pathetic BUT I loved it so much I've already ordered this set!!!!

Snow Day

Are you sick of the snow yet?  Well, I have to say this has been a very snowy winter but we've had lots of fun and lots of great pictures!  The only thing I don't like about taking pictures in the snow is that the kids are always wearing the same thing!!!!  Oh well!

This page is done with pieces from the Winter Simply Scrappin Kit from the last catalogue.

Big Day

These are some old photos.  I'm trying to catch up, so I do one recent page to every two old pages.  My kids keep asking about me and Adam, our past lives and things that we used to do.  So I thought I'd actually start scrapbooking some of these memories.  One thing I regret with my dad is not learning more about him as a person and about events in his life.  I think sometimes we get so consumed with our daily events that it isn't until we get older that we realize these stories are important.  So, take the challenge....call someone important to you and document their story! 

Again, my ramblings....get back to the page.  This is my Teachers' College graduation (10 years ago!!!)  I tried to keep the images and text in the shape of a rectangle centered in my 12x12 page.  I'm really happy with the way this one turned out.  Not my usual style but it's always good to try something new!

Same Layout, Different Stamps

This is a really simple layout.  I simply cut out a rectangle that measures 4 1/4 by 3 in a background colour.  Then the inside layers are 2 3/4 x 2 and the scrapbook paper layers are 2 1/2 x 1 3/4.  Then I found some words that would fit on the card front and matching stamps for inside the circles.  Overall I'm happy with these very quick and easy cards.  We made them for my stampers 8 this month.  I have a few new stampers so I thought I'd show a few techniques on simple cards.

The orange card is "rock 'n' roll".  I stamped the orange in Apricot Appeal to start and then rolled it in Pumpkin Pie.  If you look closely at the orange you can see the middle is lighter than the outside.  I love this technique and often forget to do it!

The lion is paper pieced together.  I stamped him in Sahara Sand and then again in Pomegranate.  I then cut out the Pomegranate mane and gued it on.

The last card (gosh I love this baby) is just for showcasing our fantastic SU markers!

Suprise!

SURPRISE!!!  This is a double page layout I did for my mom's birthday last month.  I was unsure of where to put my title so I decided to go "title-less".  I think it's okay as I'm going to do another page of the birthday (playing the Wii) so I'll be able to put them all together in my book.

Be True

I have to appologize, I didn't have time to get this week's scrapbooking challenge done from Cyndi!  I will catch up on this week and next week's upon my return!  Maybe I'll just have to scrapbook Bermuda! 

This is a double page layout that my friend Sonia made for me for Nathan's first birthday.  I love the little verse she included on the page: Today You are You, that is Truer than True.   There is no one alive that is Your than You. Dr Seuss

How sweet is that?  Because the page was so bright and fun with all the hand doodling and fun bright colours I thought I'd stick to black and white pictures.  These pictures were taken on Nathan's first birthday.  Hope you have a great weekend!

Seize the Moment

Here is another one of those photos that just makes me smile.  I love this top picture....I've got it in a frame and it always makes me smile.  My dad took this picture one day when babysitting Emma and Mark.  Mark was sad and waiting for me to get home from work so my dad told him to look outside as I would be home soon.  And when my dad turned back around Emma had her arm around him....is that not the sweetest big sister?

Bag-a-lope gone wrong!

I was playing around with my little flowers stamp set and thought about making a bag-a-lope.  This looks more like a 2-4-6-8 box, but hey, overall it's sortof cute!  I started with a standard envelope.  Lick it shut.  Slice off the very end of the envelope, this is the opening of the bag.  I then scored my envelope on all of the closed edges a 1 inch (the smaller you go, the wider your bag will be....I wish I had of scored it at 1/2 inch-although there are 2 Cadbury Cream eggs inside this baby!)  Fold the project over and over again in both directions.  Now put your hand inside the package and fold the two inside parts into the bag....does this make sense?  You are trying to make a pleat.  This will naturally make the bottom of the envelope flatten out.  I then just put adhesive on the bottom flaps to hold down and VOILA a bag from an envelope.  The topper is just made with some scrap paper.  Give it a try, super easy and quick and kids LOVE making them!

Sweet

This is the first time that I've ever made a 12x12 page with only one photo on it.  I only have one picture of this 'event' and I just love it so I wanted to scrapbook it.  The layout is simple but I'm happy with the final look of it.

I have been asked how I journal so straight on my pages so I thought I'd let you in on my little secret....I draw pencil lines lightly on my page, write my message and then erase the lines with a good white eraser.  Sorry, not to magical!!!

Life's a Breeze

My next class that I'm offering when I return from cruise is LIFE'S A BREEZE!  I feel like a little kid with this one!  I really want to show you the projects BUT I can't as I like to keep you in suspense and also make it special for those that attend the class.  BUT I really want to show you!!

Another Photo Card

I am really enjoying making these photo cards.  It's a great way to reuse old pictures and I think people at the other end of the card chain will like having some pictures of the kids as well.  This picture was taken last summer (Actually on Emma's birthday) so I thought it was appropriate for a birthday wish card.  The other nice thing about a photo card is that they are QUICK and simple!

Trip to the Zoo

I have been on a real scrapbooking kit lately!  I am trying to go back and do some old photos as well as stay up to date with current.  It's challenging BUT hey, I'm getting stuff accomplished!

I have to ask, if you scrapbook a page, do you keep doubles of photos in albums, or the photos you don't use in a layout?  OR do you just get rid of what you don't use and figure you have it scrapbooked????  I'm lost as to what to do here so I find myself in a mountain of photographs (so much so I've scrapbooked the same event without realizing it!)

Yummy!

Don't you just love this guy?  I think he is super sweet and fun!  We went to our neighbours' for a fantastic dinner a little while back so I made this card as a thank you for the fabulous meal.  I stamped Mr. Voila on the Porcelin Prints Scrapbook Paper twice, once on the front and once on the back of the same page.  Then I cut out each of the pieces using my paper snips.....LOVE my paper snips!  The tray and the face/hand are coloured in using watercolour wonder crayons and an aqua painter.

Did you check out the hodgepodge.....it's NEW!  It's from the Silver hodgepodge kit in the Spring Occasions Mini....isn't it great?!?!  I can't believe I am actually sharing it, so soon!  The THANK YOU is from the level two stamp set (maybe called Thanks so much) as is the flower on the Wild Wasabi cardstock.

I am trying to get better and decorating the inside of my cards.  Sometimes I think I go to such efforts on the outside and then I forget about the inside.  SO, I'm challenging myself to do more on the inside.  This greeting, "It was delicious" is perfect for this card.

For my layout I did another page of a trip to Sharon Creek.  I'm thinking based on the years of pictures I have that this is one of our family's favourite hiking spots!

Isn't this basket just so sweet?!?  I have seen a few of these around the internet and thought I'd try one of my own.  I simply cut the oval using my CM oval cutter (although your Coluzzle would be great too!)  There are two of these eggs, one for the front and one for the back.  Then in the middle I made a little box to attach the front and back together and of course to hold treats!!!

I stamped the Pretty in Pink paper using the flower background in this super cute set...Good Egg.  Then I stamped the chick using my Black Staz On ink on Shimmery White Cardstock.  She is coloured in using my watercolour crayons and my aqua painter.  I paper pierced the bottom of the egg using the Bashful Blue DSP from the level one hostess set.  I stamped it on this paper twice, once for the chick and once to look like the broken off section. 

The strip of paper behind the chick is Close to Cocoa.  Then I tied the Chocolate Chip 5/8 Grosgrain ribbon around this band.

The scalloped scrapbook edge is done with the small corner rounder and the Bashful Blue DSP.

Scrapbooking Tutorial

  I have had a few emails from people asking me about scrapbooking and stamping and how long it takes me to make a page.  This REALLY varies depending on my mood, the photos and if I have an idea.  I do often start by using a scrapmap or sketch and then create from there.  I thought I'd show a page from start to finish.  This one was super quick for me, about 20 minutes but I had the idea already in my head for it.

I am really happy with the simplicity of this page.  The colours are Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip.  The scrapbook paper is from the Spring Occasions catalogue...isn't it pretty(Porcelin Prints)?

   First I start with the pieces for my page before attaching any of the layers to my page.  I cut the curvy edges using my CM wavy cutter.  I knew I wanted to have a border of chocolate chip around my main images and mounted on the Soft Sky. 

Next I work on attaching my layers together.  I ran my tape gun over the brown swirl on the left of the photos.  I then attached this to the underside of the striped paper.  I must made sure that the swirls lined up.  My papers were actually a bit longer than my photos and I trimmed them all up at the end to ensure an even bottom edge.

Then I ran my tape runner over the back side of the brown swirly edge and placed my photos down.  My photos are not cut!!!  It looks like it in the picture but in actual fact it's just the border around the photos that makes it look this way.  When I laid my pictures down I just lined up the outside edge as I am using a 4x6 and a 6x4 photo.

This is what the back of my layer looks like once all the photos and edges are attached...attractive eh???  I then tape this baby up and attach it to the chocolate chip layer of paper.

My next step is that I decided to use a flower from the Pretties Kit.  No more HOARDING...I am going to use my stuff (we'll see how long this lasts for!)  Anyhow, I found the white too stark, so I took a small background stamp and inked it up in the Soft Sky and stamped directly on the flower.  Then to soften the edges even more I sponged with Close to Cocoa.  The middle of the flower is a 3/4 circle punch out of the scrapbook paper and I covered it in Crystal Effects.

The final step for this page was the title.  I used a rub on and simple rubbed it above the flower to finish off this page.

So, quick and simple!  Now, not all my pages are done this quickly but sometimes it just works for you!  Hope you have a wonderful day!

OK, I really wish this was a picture of me because that's how I'm feeling today!  BUT, one of the BIRTHDAY BOY will just have to do!  Can you believe it????  My baby is ONE!!!!!  As I'm sure you're guessing, I'm freaking out just a bit!  He is getting far too big far too fast! 

Inside this card, I printed out, "Don't cry, it's just a number!"  Cute, eh?

Another Fundraiser Sample

Here is another one of the projects we will be making at my fundraiser at McEachren (see the last post for the details).  It's a SHAKER CARD!!!  I know, I'm crazy but it'll be so fun!  This is obviously the sample using Little Flowers.  If you pick Starstruck your card will be the same layout just different colour combinations and it'll be a star, not a flower!

School Fundraiser

  I am very excited about this school fundraiser!  It is going to be a FUN night!  Here's a sneak peak at one of the projects you will be making with your stamp set in our class.  Here are the details:

Paper Crafting at McEachren

What: An evening of paper crafting and creating!  The night will include a mini stamping class.

Where: MB McEachren (right down the street from my house)

When: Friday, April 25^th from 5 pm to 10 pm (come when you can!)

Why:  This is a fundraiser for MB McEachren and a night out to have fun!

Cost: $30 if prepaid by March 26th

          $35 if paid after March 26th

ALL registrations must be in by Friday, April 18^th.

As a school fundraiser we are organizing a stamping/paper crafting/crop evening of fun!  Included in your price you will receive your choice of one stamp set (either Little Flowers or Starstruck - if you have these sets we can figure something out!).  You will also be given the supplies and the option of taking a class to create 3 projects (2 cards and a 3D project).  More supplies will be for sale that evening should you wish to mass produce projects with your stamp set (more cards, scrapbook pages, 3D items).  If you would prefer to scrapbook or bring other projects this is also an option! 

Also available this evening will be access to punches and die cutting machines.  Stamp sets will be available for rent (bring your own inks).  There will also be scrapbooking supplies and kits available for sale.

We have LOTS of great door prizes (over $250 worth of Stamping Up! supplies will be given away!!!!, we have donations from Dairy Queen, other scrapbook stores and MUCH more!!!) and a thank you gift for everyone that attends.  Munchies will also be provided.

So Much Love

This is another page we did in my Scrappers 6 this month.  It is very simple but the focus is definately on the pictures for it.

The cardstock is stamped with the Swirly circle from So Much.  We got this step at Regionals and I have to admit I haven't used it very much but I really do like it.  I think it adds enough to this page although it's tough to see.

The greeting So Much is also from this set and stamped in Basic Black.

The Love is stamped from Tall Tales alphabet (retired, I know!) The "O" is actually punched out using my one inch and 1 3/8 circle punch.  I liked the effect of stamping and punching together.

This is a super quick and easy page but I'm really happy with the final product.

Happy Bird-Day

I know, I know....it's Pun Fun again!  I love this little guy!!! 

The bird is stamped in Stazon ink on watercolour paper.  I then coloured in the bird using Tempting Turquoise and Taken with Teal.  The belly is So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie.  The hat has some Old Olive on it.  The ribbon is simply laid on top of the DSP and wrapped around the back of the DSP so you don't see it in the inside of the card.

The flower is from Flower Fusion and the middle of it is a build a brad (FUN!) with some Pumpkin DSP punched out using the 1/2 inch circle punch.  The bottom corners of the card were also punched using the small corner rounder to add a 'little something'.

Parker is One

  Two posts in one day...what is wrong with me???  It's that time again (OK, a day late!!!)  Cyndi has another fantastic sketch for you to try!  I have to say I really enjoyed this one!  I don't normally do a title on the right hand page but I have to say I like it.  I am happy with the flow of this page....give it a try!!!

I decided to scrapbook my nephew's first birthday.  Gosh is a real sweetie!  Check out Cyndi's GORGEOUS sample HERE.  It's got orange on it and I LOVE it!!!

To print the journaling on the Spring Break Paper, I typed my information out on the computer, printed it on normal printer paper then lined up my scrapbook paper directly over top of this, used Dotto (temporary adhesive) to attach my scrapbook paper to the computer paper and then ran it through the printer again.

OK, I can't take an ounce of credit for this card!  Leanne kindly sent it to me and isn't it the CUTEST!?!?  I know, you look at it at first and think, sweet, cute little chick, hey nice eggs!  YEAH nice eggs.....they are the balloons from the Birthday Whimsy Sale-a-bration set, coloured with markers and stamped upside down to look like eggs!  Is that not FANTASTIC!!!!  LOVE it!

Me and My Bro

This is one of my pages from my March Scrappers 6 club.  I have learned my lesson this month....DO DOUBLE PAGES:)  I have to say though that I really like the pages we did but yes, I understand liking double page layouts!

I wanted to show of a Simply Scrappin Kit and unfortunately the only one I had enough 'stuff' for 10 people was the Authentic level one from the last catalogue.  BUT I did get to show off the adhesives and the textured cardstock.  Let me tell you, the Scrappin Kits are FANTASTIC!  LOVE them!!!

Happy Birthday Glitter

Emma had a birthday this past weekend so this is the card we created together.  She really "instructed" me on the colours and then left the room...LOL!  I have to say the colours are nothing I ever would have picked but I really like them....So Saffrom, Pixie Pink and Certainly Celery.

All of the edges of cardstock have been dragged in the white craft ink to soften them a bit.  The cake is stamped on the white paper in Pixie Pink, then one scrap paper in the celery and the saffron.  The candles are cut out as is the cake and then glued on the original.

My favourite part of the card is the CUTE little buckle.  This is new from the Silver Hodgepodge kit.  Isn't it the sweetest little ribbon slide?  Well, it comes in silver and is actually a little channel, or it has a groove in it.  I fill this groove up with Crystal Effect and then sprinkled the also new chunky glitter, let it dry and voila!

Stampers 6

Well, tonight is my Stampers 6 gathering (we'll miss you Shannon!)  So far I've done the "same layout, different card" theme.  Tonight I thought I'd be a bit crazy, ready for this....."same layout, SAME STAMP SET.....different type of colouring !"  Isn't that just nutty!?! 

This is the package we are going to make to house the three cards we're doing.  This guy is stamped in Staz On on watercolour paper.  It is then coloured in using the markers and an aqua painter.  The package is made from a 6x12 piece and then the flap is added on after.  The scrapbook paper is Spring Break...same paper I used for the CELEBRATE card class.  The colours for this package are Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Blue Bayou and Soft Sky

I know, it's March BUT it feels like Christmas!  We've gotten over 30 cm of snow over the past few days and it's beautiful so therefore a Christmas card is well deserved!!!  Actually that and Jodie has been asking to make one!

This card is coloured in using the Watercolour Pencil crayons and a blender pen on Whisper White cardstock.  I did a bit of masking on him to have the hat look like it's behind his eyes. 

All of the cards use the rounded tab punch (forget the real name for it).  The greeting is stamped on it and then the ribbon is fed through the tag. 

Colours: Old Olive, Real Red, River Rock

This card is made using the watercolour wonder crayons and a blender pen.  An aqua painter works really well as well.  I have stamped the image in Staz On and then coloured it in using the crayons and then blended with the blender pen.

Colours: Real Red, Rose Red, Close to Cocoa

Other: CHECK OUT THE RIBBON....it's the new Chocolate twill from the mini.....YUMMY!  I know it's hard to see in the picture but it is SO soft and ties BEAUTIFULLY!

I think on Whisper White Cardstock this is my favourite way to colour.

This last card is my favourite overall card.  I LOVE the colours and the little cut out and punched up images.

This crab is coloured in using a blender pen and ink from the lid of the ink pads.  This always gives a nice soft effect.

The present and cupcake are cut out of the whisper white cardstock and then attached with a dimensional.

Today was my neice's birthday.  She is turning 13 today....where does the time go????  I thought since it's such an "important" age she should be a queen rather than a princess!  She was impressed!

Easter Box

Hope you are enjoying your weekend!  I'm s a bit excited as we're just about to take the kids tobogganning in our HUGE snowfall we are having!  It is so pretty outside and some fresh air will do us all good!

My kids LOVE Nerds...OK, the truth is out I love them and by no choice of their own, they love them too!!!!  I have started making a few of my Easter treats we'll be sharing and this is one of them.  I stamped the chick on the DSP from the Good Egg stamp set.  I then cut out the bottom portion of the egg.  For the top of the egg, I traced around the chick and then cut it out.  I then retraced my new top of the egg on the DSP and cut it out to make the top.  Hope this makes sense!

The scalloped edges is made using the SU corner rounder.  The ovals were cut using the CM oval cutter, however, the coluzzle would work fantastic here as well.  I free handed the paper piercing around the edge as with the white gel pen dots on the scallops.

When you take the lid off the box....VOILA our little chick is here to greet us with a HAPPY EASTER!  I love this little chick!

Cyndi's Weekend Sketch...Love the layout!

It's that time again....Friday!!!!  YAY!!!  AND it's March Break...no lunches next week, the whole family home, doesn't that just scream FUN!!!  Can't wait!  Anyhow, Friday also means Cyndi's scrapbook layout challenge.   Here is Cyndi's sketch...isn't it fun!?!  I also have to say, I actually almost followed it this week!  Check out Cyndi's sample here, it's a super fun beach one!

I had a lot of fun doing this page.  OK, so you have to click on the picture this week to see the photos up close....I am an EVIL mother!  Yes, that pretty little "girl" is Nathan!  Emma, Mark and I had far too much fun dressing him up like a girl the other day when they were home from school sick!  Aren't I horrible???  Don't you just LOVE the Crew Girls scrapping kit though....matches his dress perfectly!  I know, I'm horrible!  Nathan will certainly hate me for this one!  Here's a close up of the embellishments on this page.

Celebrate Kit

Hello all!  Sorry about the "no post" yesterday.  I'm in a bit of denial....I've been trying to make Nathan's birthday invitations and am STUCK!  I think it's because I don't want him to turn one so therefore if I don't make the invitations, the party won't happen, he won't be one.....doesn't that make sense??? 

Anyhow, I'm back!!!  I've got a kit on the go right now.  You have been asking for some potentially "manly" cards so I came up with this (although....I LOVE the colours and would freak out if I received one of these cards!)  This will not be a class offered at my house rather a through the mail....or pick up class.  You may be wondering....how does this work?

I will precut and punch ALL of the pieces needed to create the five cards and box for you.  Each card and the box will come with instructions that include a colour picture of the project, dimensions so you can reproduce the card and step by step directions to complete the card/box.  Any of the punches will be done and each project is individually bagged.  So, all that you need to do is stamp and assemble (I get to do the hard part, you get the fun part!)

Cost: $35 which includes the stamp set celebrate everything (click on the word to see the set), the supplies for 5 cards and 5 envelopes.  This kit is available for this price until Tuesday, March 11th.   

This card will also include some Dew Drops for you to try.  You simply use mini glue dots or Crystal Effects to adhere them to your project.  The other great thing about this set is you can easily switch up the words to go along with celebrate....such as "you", "friendship", "your day", "life" and a few more!

For this card, I will also be providing the micro beads, the complete instructions for a shaker card and all the supplies needed to make this.  Aren't shaker cards THE BEST!!!  I am hooked on them right now!

Easter Wishes

I wanted to make a simple and clean Easter card for my Grandma.  I LOVE this stamp set from last year's mini, I think it's called Bunny Hugs.  I stamped the bunny on the craft cardstock first using Basic Black Ink.  Then I masked her and stamped the dotted circle from Thanks So Much around the bunny.  Then using my CM circle cutter, I cut around the dots, leaving a little part above the one ear I cut out with scissors. 

I coloured in the bunny using my white craft ink and a Q Tip.  I thought I'd try this technique over using the watercolour wonder crayons.  I didn't do it for any particular reason other than to try.  I like the effect of it.  I coloured in the bunny's ears with the watercolour crayons and the little chick.  The Easter wishes greeting is from this same stamp set and the rest of the verse is stamped on the inside of the card with a few little chicks.  I stamped the Boho background circles on the card with my white craft ink.  Then added a few little dew drops under the greeting.  It's tough to see in this picture but the Kraft circle is also adhered using the stampin' dimensionals.  The card and the Kraft layer are edged using the White Craft ink.

Snuggle Bug

This is my little Snuggle Bug.  I did this page up on the weekend fairly quickly (under half an hour for sure!)  I love the colours and they match so nicely with his blanket.

Cyndi's Weekend Sketch...FINALLY!

OK, so the FINALLY in the title was totally directed at me!!!  I am sorry I'm a day late with this!!!  It's a Friday thing and well....it's Saturday!  I have to say that I totally started with Cyndi's sketch and now that I look at my page....not sure how much of the sketch it still resembles but hey, that's not the point!!!!  That's the great thing about scrapbooking....you start with one idea and you end up somewhere else, but you get a page and a memory done!

Check out Cyndi's Blog for her sketch and fantastic scrapbook page!  It's a good one, bright and fun!

Here is what I came up with!  My little munchkin LOVES pulling ALL the movies off the shelf and boy does it make a mess!!! I did this page using the Simply Scrappin Kit Crew Boys.  It's hard to see in this picture (click on it for a larger image) but the background paper is actually patterned.  Then the Basic Gray paper is textured and I used the borders in the kit to outline the Basic Gray.  I also did a fair amount of free hand doodling around the pictures and journaling.  Hope you like it!  Have a great rest of the weekend!

This card I made earlier this week and am happy with the final look.  Check out the ribbon!!!  It is SU white grosgrain and then I used my marker to colour the edge of the ribbon.  One edge is coloured in teal and the other in rose red.  What do you think???

There are two options for a long distance club:

OPTION #1:

If you find a group of ladies that are willing to commit to a club (ideally it’s 6 including yourself) I will give you 15% off your monthly orders as a thank you for organizing the group and emailing me the orders etc.  I will make you and ship you two projects for the month that you and your friends can make together.  The Stampin’ Up! order will then be shipped to your home for you to distribute to your friends.

OPTION #2:

You want to stamp, but you can’t make it to my house.  Place a minimum order of $30 per month on the 15^th of the month (8 month club) and I will give you a 10% discount on your supplies and ship the merchandise to your house.

If the Halo Fits...

I just love this stamp set.  She is so sweet and simple.  I made this card for a friend that I'm sure is sick of hearing about how "sick" our house is.  I have felt like I've been complaining a lot lately which isn't my style but boy I wish the bug was gone!!!  Anyhow, she's been super sweet and kind so I thought of her when making this card. 

I actually embossed the angel on Shimmery White Cardstock using Black Embossing Powder and Versamark.  She is coloured in using my aqua painter with Barely Banana, Blush Blossom, Bashful Blue, Pretty n Pink and Almost Amethyst.  The sky is also coloured around her using the aqua painter.  You can see the blue is more predominant around her body.

The pink paper is from Berry Bliss and the blue paper is from Tart and Tangy. The card is mounted on Kraft paper.  Gosh I've been using Kraft an awful lot lately, I really like the neutral colour though and it looks great when sponged around the edges.   The ribbon is our Blue Taffeta Ribbon. 

The angel is mounted on a Barely Banana piece of cardstock and then on Bashful Blue.  I popped up the image so you don't see the buldge of the ribbon underneath.  Hope you like it!

Splitcoast Challenge

I always have such good intentions to try the challenges at Splitcoaststampers.  If you haven't tried them or even looked at them before they are rather neat.  Scroll down on the main page and on the right tool bar you'll see the days of the week and then the type of challenge.  Tuesdays challenge is a colour combination.  This week the challenge was to use River Rock, Basic Black and Whisper White.  So, that's what I've done!

Recipe:

Colours: River Rock, Basic Black, Whisper White (ok, a tad of guava to highlight the flowers)

Other: dew drops, oval punch, tag punch, ticket corner punch, Ginger Blossom DP

It's tough to see in the picture but the card is actually black.  I stamped this branch first on the white cardstock and then on a scrap.  I coloured in the scrap paper flowers with River Rock and Groovy Guava with a blender pen.  Then I cut them out and popped them up using dimensionals.  The flowers also have some Crystal Effects on them.  I'm happy with the effect, although it's tough to see in the picture!  Have a great day and if you have  a few minutes to spare head on over to Splitcoast and try out a challenge....if nothing else it gives you a great starting place!  Hope your house is happy and healthy....we're still working on the latter!

Make and Take Scrapbook Page

This is a page I did at a workshop the other night at Tania's house.  I don't normally do scrapbook pages for everyone but I thought this one is quick and easy and something we could make.  I still have to include my journaling and a smaller strip of the blue above the pictures but overall I'm thrilled with this page.  This is Emma on her second Halloween (she is 17 months here).  She was SO miserable in this costume but boy she looked cute!

Shaker Birthday

Mark has a birthday party to go to today.  Unfortunately I didn't get Mark to help with this card but he did pick out the stamp set, colours and said it "just HAD to be a shaker card".  I thought this was cute so therefore, it's a shaker!

I did this card using a square coaster.  Then I cut the circle out of the coaster, traced the outline of the coaster on the DSP and then cut it out.  I mounted a sheet of acetate on the top of the coaster, then put the scrapbook paper on top of this.  I sponged the edges in Taken with Teal so the white of the coaster didn't show through too much.  Then I stamped the image on watercolour paper and coloured it in using markers and an aqua painter.

To put the beads in I flip the coaster over so the "bad" side is up, sprinkle about 1/4 of a teaspoon of beads in the cavity and then with the adhesive already on the background (spaceship) I place this on top to seal in the beads.  The stars are done using the two different sized SU punches.  I paper pierced the bottom of the card using one of the Classy Brass templates and then coloured in the holes using a white gel pen.

Photo Cards

My friend Sonia let me borrow a magazine she had about using photos in other projects beyond scrapbooking.  So on my theme last weekend of reduce, reuse, recycle, I thought I could also start recycling some of my doubles on my cards.  This is the first card I came up with.  Nathan is only 3 months old in this picture (and he's going to be one next month WHAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!)  Sorry...back to the card!

Anyhow, I just took the photo, cut it to 3 3/4 by 5 inches, mounted it on Not Quite Navy and then on a Kraft cardstock base.  The edges were all dragged in the white craft ink to soften them up.  I stamped the greeting in Versamark adn then embossed it using the Soft Blue Embossing Powder SU used to sell. 

The party hat is a bigger version from the one in A Little Birdie Told Me.  I thought the one in that set was a bit too small so I drew this one and am happy with the size and effect.

Cyndi's Scrapbook Layout Challenge #5

I am SO sorry!  I'm late on this challenge.  I think Nathan is FINALLY getting better and being a little happier.  The past few days have been LONG, poor little guy.  It's been nice getting to snuggle but not fun because he isn't doing well.

Anyhow, enough about us, here's the challenge.  I promise my pages, I started working on the page and ended up changing things up a bit but I did start with this sketch in mind!!!

It's tough to see in a photograph but the textured cardstock for this page is very YUMMY.  I'm amazed how much it adds to a page.  I am really getting into our Simply Scrappin Kits!  They are a fantastic way to scrapbook and offer lots of versatility and are also a time saver.  If you haven't used one before it's worth checking out in the back of the catalogue as they are fantastic!

This page took me some time but I'm happy with the final layout.  The pictures are from 21 years ago!!!  That's my family and I.  Lots has changed since then but love is still there!!!  It's funny what can bring a smile to your face, but seeing the picture of "the yellow rabbit" (my dad's car) just makes me smile.  We had so many great family adventures in this!  Have a great day and try out the sketch!!!

Scrappers 6

This is a layout that Cyndi gave in her weekly scrapbook challenge a few weeks back.  I did the page of Nathan's first time eating.  Well, I used the same basic layout for this design but rotated the second page.  It's amazing how different two pages can look when you swap up the colours and make a few minor changes.

Stamps: Just Journaling (retired), a new set near the back of the catalogue perfect for scrapbooking...anyone, anyone?????  (I don't have a catalogue handy!)  It's not my set but I borrowed it and will have to have it!

Colour: Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Old Olive

Other: White Embossing Powder, Silver Brads, Ticket Corner, variety of circle punches, photo corner punch
