I have been so lucky to get to spend some time with my wonderful friend, Teneale while in Australia! She has been an amazing hostess and even greater friend! Thank you, Teneale. Well, it was her birthday the other day and I wanted to make her a special card.... just like she is:) So, here's what I came up with.
The card actually uses limited supplies and I love how it came together. A few things I challenged myself to when making this card:
- No white cardstock (except for the stamped layer). Teneale loves colour so I wanted to use colour.
- SPONGE! Teneale is the queen of sponging....seriously, so I wanted to sponge on her card.
- Use the stamp set, Another Great Year, because she made me get it in my starter kit:)
So with those parameters on myself, this is what I came up with:) What do you think? I'm happy with the final look. One thing that I thought was very "Australian" about this card are the macaroons in the background. These tasty treats are EVERYWHERE and very on trend. Maybe they were in Canada before we left too, but I didn't notice them.
Remember, when you're crafting that the smallest details sometimes offer the biggest pop. I love how the icing looks with the edges sponged...soft and subtle:)
Well, I hope you enjoy your day and thank you for stopping by! I've got a PDF with the supplies, tips and assembly instructions at the bottom of today's post. Enjoy! Hugs,
