Well, we had a wonderful trip to Ottawa this past weekend! We missed having Emma with us as she had to be home for cheer, but beyond that it was wonderful!
Today's post is QUICK, as was this card! I was challenged by a downline to use the new sweet little punch and make a card in under 5 minutes...start to finish!
So, here's what I cam up with! I've made it for a friend that I haven't seen in far too long as a little invite for a tea! Thought it turned out sortof sweet for 4 minutes and 16 seconds! What do you think? I challenge you to create a card in under 5!!!! Dare you! Please link to my blog if you create one so I can check it out and comment:)
In the meantime, it's MDS download day! Don't forget to check it out! In the meantime, we are up to 185 photos in my My Digital Studio online class, over 50 videos AND in 8 days there are already 15 posts!!! I know, I know...I said one post a day but I just can't stop! If you haven't signed up we'd love to have you join the fun!
Have a wonderful day!

It's Monday! Wow, where did that weekend go? We had a wonderful weekend in Ottawa! It was strange though, we only took the boys as Emma had to be a cheer on Sunday (mandatory) so she was excited to stay home and spend time with family and we went without her. We had fun visiting the Mint, War Museum and so much more! I'm embarassed to say we have done more traveling in the US than in our own backyard! That must change:)
This is another card that I created for the Hamilton Regionals! Can you tell that I love Halloween!?!? This card was fun to put together, I think the colours make me happy....Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade and Rich Razzleberry! YUMMY!!!
I stamped the boot in Versamark and embossed it in black. I then coloured in the dots with markers. The greeting was also embossed in the black.
The rest of the card is as simple as it looks...a few little banners, a couple of layers and voila!
Hope you like it! Hope you're excited to see my MDS pages from our trip:)
Have a great day!

Happy Sunday to you! I hope you have had a lovely weekend so far!
I'm sure this comes as NO surprise but I love the Googly Ghouls stamp set...without a doubt a favourite! Isn't it just so sweet!!?
This is a card I presented last weekend at the Hamilton Regionals. The card is fairly straight forward, but the fun little twist is the envelope attached to the back of the card that makes a sweet little treat holder.
Thanks to Mary Fish for her amazing list of envelope sizes and score lines with the diagonal score plate I was able to make an envelope from DSP to the exact size I needed!
Here is the basic supply list:
I hope you have a wonderful day!
Take care,
Heather
(Guess what....we have over 100 photos on my MDS online class, 45+videos, more than 10 posts and we're having a blast! If you haven't signed up, it's not too late!!!)

Happy Friday to you! I hope you are preparing for a funfilled weekend! Hard to believe we only have a few left this summer! Ahhh - not prepared to think about that yet!!!
This week's MDS blog hop couldn't have come at a better time! A good friend is moving so I thought I'd make her some moving cards! FUN, FUN, FUN!!!
This idea is very similar to one of my Artisan submissions, but I thought it'd be cute as a straight MDS project. With the NEW MDS 2, some of these features were fun and easy to do! I added polka dots to the one dress with the colouring tool. The middle dress is two colours thanks to the colouring tool, and the flower is a stamp that I was able to crop! The last dress has a piece of ribbon (cropped embellishment) coloured in Raspberry Ripple and the top stripe was done using the colouring tool. Thank you SU for making such great improvements to the program! I'm in love:)
Here is a complete supply list for my project: Download Change of address
AND I shot a quick video for you demonstrating how I cropped the flower on the skirt for you:) Have a wonderful day and enjoy today's blog hop!
Take care,
Heather

This card was one of our montly club cards in our "Big Shot Class". I wanted to showcase the buttons embosslit and we added some Crystal Effects on the top of the button to make them look even more "real". LOVE this!
Here is the supply list for this card:
I hope you enjoy your day! It's a busy one around here with appointments and football! Can't wait!

Happy Tuesday to you...you know what that means.....DOWNLOAD day! WHOO HOO!!!! Check out your demonstrator's web page to see today's downloads! In the meantime, thanks ladies for a super fun craft club day yesterday afternoon! You are all a bunch of Big Shots now:)
In the meantime, I thought I'd share a simple card collection I put together and am so happy with! I know this set is no longer available, but it can be substituted with another image I'm sure:)
I used Whisper White cardstock for all the layers, dimensionals and one ink colour. Then of course the matching ribbon to the ink colour, as simple as that! I'm thinking I'll be mass producing some of these for Christmas gifts this year....should get on that now:)
AND to top it off.....guess what!?!?! I have made a PDF I'm happy to share with the dimensions and photos of all the cards! Hope you like it!
Have a wonderful day!
Take care,
Heather

How fun is this? As one of Stampin' Up!'s Artisan Award winners this year, I am on the first ever Stampin' Up! design team. What an honour, thank you Stampin' Up!
As part of our commitment, each month Stampin' Up! will send us some supplies and we are asked to feature a specific product for our creations. This month's challenge was to use the In Colours (LOVE!), paper daisies and dahlias. What a great combination!
This first card is fairly clean and simple. Here is the supply list:
This next card was fun to put together. Here is the supply list for this card:
Hope you like this one!
And my last post uses none other than My Digital Studio! This page was fun to create as I actually got to use a picture of Nathan and I (rarely happens!) It's a cottage picture (you will be so sick of my cottage photos soon I'm sure!) Here is the supply list for this page:
Did you know that in MDS 2 you can with the click of ONE button list your entire supply list on a page!!! I am SO exicted about this and will try to include this all the time with you!!!
Well, thanks for joining me for my first Artisan post! I enjoyed sharing my creations with you and hope that you'll feel a bit inspired to create using some of these same supplies we are showcasing this month! AND, I'm not 100% sure the date, but make sure you check the Stampin' Up! facebook page as each month we will have posts on there from the entire team!
Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!
Take care,
Heather

What a fun day! I'm not sure what my favourite part of the day was....although spending time with my team is always number one! Loved the emphasis on MDS (no shocker there), the samples and the stamping. I LOVE how much effort and time Stampin' Up! puts into their events for us! THANK YOU!
I am trying really hard to get my MDS books done so I can print them in August and enjoy the 31% off print products! WHOO HOO!!! I am just about done my July to December 2011 and my January to June 2012. I have a couple of pages left for each book and I'm good to go! Now, my list of things I'd like to get done in the next 10 days is HUGE so we shall see what actually gets printed!
I took this picture of Mark on the last day of school. While the kids ate their afterschool snack I quickly "interviewed" them so I could journal their thoughts and reflection of the school year. I can't believe we only have about three more weeks and back to the books we go!
Don't forget, tomorrow my newest MDS online class begins! If you've signed up you should receive your invitation via your Pay Pal email late tonight! If you haven't signed up, it's never too late! CLICK HERE for more details! Have a wonderful day!

I am so excited! Wanna know why???? Today is Stampin' Up! Regionals in Hamilton! I am so excited to spend the day with my team, and to travel with my mom! Should be tons of fun! Can't wait!
Hopefully I'll take lots of pictures and share with you! I love Regionals as they are very intimate events full of fun, stamping, prizes and so much more!
Today's card was another one of my swaps I did for Convention. I only had to make 10 of these ones and am thrilled with the final card. I used the Scentsational Stamp Set that has the matching framelits to go with it. Isn't he cute!
The colours on the card are Real Red, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake. Hope you like it!!! Well, I hope you have a wonderful day, I know I will!
Take care,
Heather

Ha ha! I have to laugh, this was my week to pick a theme and back in May when we were selecting our themes, I thought I'd go with something EASY...something I KNEW I would have a ton of...that's right Summer photos!
I have been having WAY too much fun with MDS 2 (shooting videos while I go for my upcoming online class too!) I love this simple page of my crazy son Cole! We were at the beach with a good friend (Belinda!) and it started to pour down rain. We packed up, ran to the van and of course it stopped. But this didn't stop Cole....no way! The other kids were bundled up in the van ready to go and there was Cole jumping into the puddles on the cement sidewalk (oh yes, and blowing bubbles in that fantastically clean puddle!) LOVE this monkey!
Are you loving the text on this page? It's donw using the new freeform feature!!! I am in LOVE!
Well, not to tease you but I must be on my way! It's a busy day today...I have to still finish prepping for REGIONALS tomorrow!!! YIPPEEE!!!! I am so excited to see my Stampin' Up! friends (both from head office and from around the area!) And, I am super excited to be presenting as well so I've got to tweak that too:) FUN TIMES!!! In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the rest of the hop!!!
Have a GREAT day!

Good morning to you! In going through my blog I realized that I haven't shared with you all my Convention swaps (not even close to all of them so I will continue that soon!) ALSO, I haven't shared all my swaps with you.
One of the highlights for me at Convention are the "pillow" gifts my team and I swap out one night. It's like Christmas...so much fun and so amazing! I HAD to make something with Summer Starfruit just to FORCE my girls to love it. Although I will say, I think I've converted quite a few of them!
I decided to make headbands for the girls. These were fun (and quick) to sew up. I love showcasing our beautiful fabric and being able to wear it is a great conversation starter about Stampin' Up! So, I killed two birds with one stone...cute and practical:) Evil, I know:)
Hope you like today's share! If you're one to enjoy fabric you should really check out the clearance rack! Fabric (for a whole box) is less than $2 a box! AMAZING! I think there are five of the retired fabric lines! Have fun!
In the meantime, enjoy your day!
Take care,
Heather

My goodness! What a whirlwind of a week it's been! We had the BEST family holiday last week at the cottage (despite the rain:) to come home to lots to do! Some great, some not so (like my taxes I'm being audited for....UGH...almost done though, I should really be more organized!) I had a super fun class on Monday night (thanks ladies for a spooktacular night!) And then last night I had a workshop with Jill and friends which was wonderful! It was great to see some old faces as well as new! LOVE workshops! Speaking of which I'm booking my holiday fun workshops if you're interested in a fun night of crafting, Christmas and friendship!
On the holiday note, this is a card I made using my all time favourite Halloween stamp set.....SO STINKIN cute....Googly Ghouls. The stamping is pretty simple...just stamped in Staz On ink, dragged the Very Vanilla cardstock through the ink and attached the googlie eyes (that have adhesive on the back...yippee for that one!)
The background was just made with strips of paper in Elegant Eggplant with the Chevron folder, Wisteria Wonder textured cardstock, Old Olive and Lucky Limeade with the Houndstooth folder.
The other "new" element on the card is the alphabet at the top. I LOVE the size of this alphabet! It's perfect for cards and even scrapbook pages....a bit smaller than the last Big Shot alphabet.
Hope you like today's creation! Don't forget, my online MDS class starts in only 5 more days! Hope you've signed up for the fun. If not, feel free to CLICK HERE to learn more!
Take care,
Heather

I'm sorry I stopped sharing my swaps there for a bit....didn't get those ones preposted. I want to share but there isn't too much of a need to blabber on SO I will share the photo and something I love about the swap. If I know who the swap is made by I'll identify that as well, however, I've given a friend my swaps to get ideas from (will get them back) so don't have all the names on them! If you know who's it is, I'd love to give credit where credit is due:) Have a great day!
Creator: Sarah Sagert (I think)
What I love: The colours! I LOVE how Sarah put together these colours and just makes the card pop! LOVE!

Guess what!?!?! It's MDS Download day! Whoo hooo!!! You know what's getting me excited...I know that Halloween downloads will be right around the corner...who doesn't love Halloween downloads!??! Sorry, getting ahead of myself:)
Well, like you I'm sure this summer is slipping away. One day is merging with the next. And being the horrible person I am, I have missed a birthday or two AND to top it off, I have some coming and no time to stamp (well...some time, but it's prepping classes and clubs:) SO, to ensure no one gets missed I created another MDS birthday card for Convention and thought I should print some off:)
I love this card as it's easy to print at home! I don't like to print too much from home but sometimes I do need to based on my lack of planning and timing:) SO, a clean white card makes for less ink and makes for a cute card! I hope you like it!!!
Have a WONDERFUL day and don't forget to check out today's post and feel free to check out my online store if you like:) Take care,
Heather

on hand seem to be a necessity for me! I have been trying to get ahead, and well, I've already missed a birthday! Seriously, that's nutty! SO, I've decided to have some MDS birthday cards on hand so I stop missing them. I always try to have a hand stamped one for each recipient, but I need to be okay with MDS too, right? AND, I'll make this little gem a hybrid by attaching real buttons:)
As you may notice, this is a COMPLETE case of a card I shared back in June that I made in "real life". This card is Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight and Marina Mist. I love adding the faux stitching to MDS as it looks so real and I didn't have to pull out the actual machine to finish it off!
The DSP is from Floral District, which is fun and bright, don't you think? The cake is from the Patio Party suite. I used punches to colour in the cake for this project.
I like that the inside of an MDS card is quick and simple and enables me to fill up as much or as little space as I like:) For those that know me, sometimes filling more space is nice so I don't have to write as much...lazy I know!!!!
Anyhow, hope you like how I used MDS to case a traditional card that I created. Have yourself a GREAT day! Tak ecare,
Heather

Well, I'm not sure about you but we've had an AMAZING week! We were at the cottage and are heading home today.....as many of you know the cottage is my FAVOURITE spot in the WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD! I will BORE you with a million photos (because I took that many) in the weeks to come. I think the reason I love it so much is it's the one place I can unwind and do nothing! At home I tend to always have something on the go and don't veg too much (although I am getting better at it:)
My sweet friend, Anne, hosted a fantastic pot luck so I wanted to give her a little thanks for being so amazing! I had so much fun making these sweet little gems. I used the White Confetti paper and stamped the images in StazOn Ink. I then coloured them in using just the markers and the blender pens just to tweak the colouring. The duck was coloured in using Basic Gray, Summer Starfruit, More Mustard and Old Olive. The Fox was coloured in with Cajun Craze and Tangerine Tango, Summer Starfruit and More Mustard.
The sweet little puppy is coloured in using Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. I actually made a card with all the stamps and as you can see they are clean and simple and adorable little note cards. I just LOVE them and made myself a set.
I also created matching envelopes using the Crumb Cake DSP and the score tool! Thanks again Anne for being so great!!!
Have a WONDERFUL day! Here's hoping we have an uneventful trip home:)

Heather

Good Morning Sunshine! It's a happy day! I forgot to share with you my "outgoing" Artisan swap. The Artisan Award winners from 2011-2012 did a swap at Convention and this is the card that I created. Are you surprised....I used Bootiful! I do LOVE this set!!!!
Here are the basic "ingredients" for this card:
I tried a few variations on the flowers. What do you think? I also did blue flowers, but I think I prefer the red...but I can't decide between the buttons and the brads. I'd love to hear your opinion! I hope you like my swap cards as I had a ton of fun making them (and dusting off my Bashful Blue card stock:)
Enjoy your Saturday! Take care,
Heather

Happy Friday to you! Nothing better than an MDS Blog Hop to start your day! The current Holiday Catalogue is FULL of some amazing downloads and of course each Tuesday Stampin’ Up! does an amazing job of creating some great new downloads for us as well! I’m still waiting on my Holiday Catalogue disks to come, so I decided to share with you a new holiday download called 12 Days of Christmas! It is ADORABLE!
The swatchbook comes with BEAUTIFUL Designer Series Paper as well as fun and fantastic embellishments. I love the template that comes with this and have already sent my books off for printing! I know, it’s August! BUT, here’s why:
31% off ALL print items in August (how fun is that!?!?!)
So, you’re probably wondering why I’m printing Christmas swatchbooks, right? Well, I thought they would be fun (instead of, or maybe with) Christmas cards this year for our immediate family. It’s an “activity” book for the families to do together and complete over the month of December and then of course at the end will have a sweet memory! On each page, I created a punch with a photo dimension on it so when they take a photo of a family activity, they can print them and attach them to the book! I’m going to also send along a Sharpie marker to journal in the book. I hope they have as much fun completing their books as I did making them!
I have been having a ton of fun getting ready for my next MDS online class! It will be a 30 class full of videos, fun and ideas! The class will begin on August 20th, and each day you’ll get a project, supply list and video! Of course the class runs at your own pace and will be open for six months after! (plenty of time to start making up some fun festive projects!!!)
CLICK HERE for more details on my MDS version 2 online class
Have a wonderful blog hop and I hope you enjoy today’s video!
Take care,
Heather

Well, I decided I'd get ready for even more prep for this fall yesterday while MDSing:) I've started making some teacher thank yous for the fall. With Nathan heading into SK, and my working I know I won't be in the classroom quite as much but I still want to be a presence. SO, I'm going to make some cards ahead of time for his teacher. For your viewing pleasure today, I "wrote" in the card so you could envision what the finished product will look like:)
I used the same kit as yesterday, Storytime. Aren't these embellishments ADORABLE!?!?! I love all the details and all I have to do is make a little clickie, clickie and voila, great details on my project:)
The inside and back panel have the same letter cards but continuing through the alphabet. Cute, eh? I LOVE LOVE LOVE this kit and am so excited to keep creating with it...maybe not for tomorrow's post, I don't want you to get sick of it:)
In the meantime, I hope you have a WONDERFUL day! Take care,
Heather

As some of you know, I'm returning to the classroom part time this fall. I am excited about this adventure and am looking forward to this new chapter in our family's life! So, I'm trying to get a little organized NOW rather than leaving everything to the last minute...wish me luck!!!! Oh, in saying this, I will still be here and still be stamping, no worries!!! Keep checking back:)
I love being able to give kids (and parents) thank you cards. I think it's important for people to feel appreciated, but also for kids to see how nice it is to say "thank you". So, my hope is to print off about 50 of these and then I'll make another batch later in the fall:) Wish me luck to actually hand them out:)
This uses the ADORABLE kit, Storytime from the current catalogue! I love all the embellishments in this kit. They are perfect for teachers, parents, grand parents, or pretty well anyone that loves kids! Hope you like it!!!!
The inside of the card is pretty simple, and leaves me room to write a message:) I hope you like it:) Alrighty, off to have a fun day! I hope you enjoy your day as well. Thank you for stopping by!
Take care,
Heather

I'm sure I've mentioned it but on the off chance I haven't August is MDS (My Digital Studio) month!!! Well, not officially but in my world it is! 31% off all print products (WOWOWOWOW!) AND the early release of MDS 2 has come about! AMAZING!!!! Don't forget to check out the details at www.mydigitalstudio.net
In the meantime, here's another Convention Swap. I participated in a Christmas card swap. Laura created this gem! This stamp set sure is a favourite and I love what she did with it! Thanks Laura!!!! Don't you love the snowflakes dies? They are fun!
Well, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day!

Thank you for stopping by, espeically f you came from Erica's blog!
Do you ever create a card that you just can't stop!?!? This card did not originally begin like this, but boy am I happy with the direction it turned! I wanted to use the Under the Big Top Stamp set (love that set). I cut all the words off the stamps so I could just stamp the image in Staz On ink. Then I coloured in the stamps using my markers and cut them out. I couldn't stop....so, as you can see I just kept stamping, colouring and cutting!
I used the DSP from last year's catalogue (but remember if you LOVE it, you can get it in MDS!!!) The banners were made using the pennant punch and textured card stock. I stamped the announcer (which was from the hostess set from last year's catalogue). The blocks were in Crumb Cake, stamped in Woodgrain then sponged like crazy. The tent topper is the same DSP and then scalloped. I attached the top of the tent with sticky strip and then the bottom has dimensionals on it.
The card is a cupboard fold. So once you "open" up the tent, let the party begin! The circus was cut out using the Sizzlits (retired) and then I hope the brads look like lights. Each one of the characters inside the tent have something different...like the lions have crystal effects on their hula hoops and their heads are popped up.
Everything was stamped on water colour paper, cut out and then attached.
The balloons are the small oval punched out of DSP and card stock then covered in Crystal Effects. The baker's twine is attached to the back of the balloon and then "tied" to the clown's hand...cute, huh!
Well, I hope you like this card and I hope you have a magical day ahead! Take care,
Heather

Happy Holiday Monday afternoon!!! Who doesn't love a long weekend:) I suppose as a family of teachers we have two months of long weekends, but it still feels like a treat having a LONG weekend!
Today's share was made by my downline and friend Marion. It's a SMASH book. I'd never heard of this before and then Marion made me this adorable book, AND Shelli demonstrated one on stage at Convention....so Marion, you are right with the trends!
A smash book is a book that you use to track anything and everything you want. You don't have to create in order, or even to make sense. Marion included some sweet extra pages (like this envelope). I look forward to using this book and tracking my next year in here! Thanks Marion!
Enjoy the rest of your day!
Hugs,
Heather

Thanks for stopping by from the ever talented Erica's blog!
You already know how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE these little gems! Swatchbooks are so much fun and make for an incredible gift, at an inexpensive rate! This project is a little different than just a book but I thought it would be a fun way to create a perpetual calendar for inside my craft room. I really want to get better at sending cards, I'm horrible at it!!! (just ask my family!) SO, I created this little calendar to help me out...but of course you have to make it look pretty too, right?
I found this frame at a local store for the cheap, and I spray painted it white. I wrapped the backing of the frame with burlap and then hung the calendar on twine. And from there, I just embellished like crazy!
The colour scheme of this was of course inspired by none other than my favourite Spice Cake fabric! It's Pool Party, Soft Suede and More Mustard!
I truly used a little of this and a little of that all over this frame! I hope you like it! If you have any questions, just ask! In the meantime, wish me luck in actually getting my cards created on time to the right people!!!
Take care,
Heather

Thank you Laura! My sweet and very talented downline Laura made these (along with other treats and treasures) as her pillow gift for Convention. Renee and I had to giggle when Laura passed these out as we knew they would get WELL used at Convention! Yes, shocker, I cried about 15000 times in the span of four days:) (OK, slight exaggeration but they were well used!)
Thank you so much Laura! Enjoy your day!
Hugs,
Heather

Thank you for visiting from the amazing Erica's blog!
What has been fun is that many of you have had the opportunity to watch Cole grow. I started my blog a couple of months before Nathan was born (who is now five!) So some of you survived my whinning while pregnant with Cole, the surprise of "it's a boy!" and all the milestones since then! So this title is so true: "Our Little Man....growing up"
Cole is certainly growing up and growing up quickly! He wants to do everything that everyone else does....Emma, Mark and Nathan. He is never far behind!
This page was fun to put together. I used the On The Go kit and created this hybrid page. I'm not sure if the pull out or the buttons are my favourite part....the pull out is actually a swatchbook page! Cute, huh? I like that I did the pull out with coloured photos rather than the black and white like the page, just to make it have a little punch.
The paper buttons were made by punching out the 1 1/4 inch circle from card stock and then the piece on top was punched out of the DSP from the On The Go kit. I glued them together with tombow, then covered them in Crystal Effects and voila...paper buttons!
I hope you like today's page:) I had fun making it and even more fun looking at it now! I hope you have a GREAT day! Take care,
Heather

Thanks for stopping by from the ever talented Erica's blog!
Where is our time going! Amazing isn't it! We are sure enjoying this summer but there seems no way we'll all get our bucket lists accomplished:) Oh well, there's always next summer, right?
This card was fun to put together!!! I love the stamp set Kidoodles...it just makes my heart happy! To begin, I created the dry embossing "folder" used on the Old Olive card stock. I punched out the branch from the bird punch about a million times. I stacked four on top of each other and waited for them to dry. This created the "folder" and I ran it through the Big Shot and voila! How fun is that!?!?
Then of course you can see I punched out branches from Early Espresso. I then also punched out a bunch of branches from the green DSP (from last year's Simply Scrappin' Kit), cut out the leaves and glued them to the branches. The flowers are from the Itty Bitty punch pack from So Saffron card stock and I used the So Saffron brads in the middle....cute, eh?
The monkeys were stamped on water colour paper, coloured in and cut out. The heads and bananas are actually a second layer dimensionaled up (is that a word?). The colours on this card are So Saffron, Old Olive, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Early Espresso.
Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you have a great day!!! Take care,
Heather
