Happy MDS Download Day afternoon (say that three time fast!) Today's sweet gift was given to me by Jason Casper. I love this idea! He used a sweet little frame to make a pin cushion! It's full of stuffing and then the sweet ribbon and tag is held on using a push pin. Thank you Jason! LOVE this and will be making more!

they sure are hard to come up with sometimes! I don't know why though....is it that we are trying to "impress" our men more than women, is it a lack of samples, lack of resources or just plain old hard?!?!? Whatever it is, I had fun making this card!
I used the stamp set Open Sea and the Well Worn DSP. To create the background I punched out a whack of circles from the paper, layered them and adhered them to a layer of cardstock.
I used the circle scissors plus to create the circle border on the compass. The brads are from the spinner hands. The colours on this card are Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy, and Crumb Cake.

Happy afternoon to you! My absolute favourite thing about any Stampin' Up! event is seeing friends! I wish I lived closer to my good friend Alanna! She is AMAZING and truly genuine and giving! Just to prove my point, Alanna shared this beautiful gift with me! Inside the "In-Case" cards were this sweet little card set! LOVE the 3x3s! And Nathan took my tic tacs the minute I walked in the door, thankfully I got a picture first:)

Good Morning to you! Well, we are officially done football now for a whole 2 weeks before Mark begins his fall football! I am grateful my kids have found things they enjoy and are passionate about, just hard to believe we start it all over again here shortly!
Today's project was fun to put together, but boy oh boy it sure took a TON of fabric. I started off thinking it would take about a package, maybe two...well, I put the pieces of fabric too close together I think as it took FIVE packages!
I used a styrofoam wreath frame and cute 3 inch circles out of my fabric. I folded the circles in half, then in half again. Then I shoved a tool (I used an allen key) in the middle of the circle, put a blob of hot glue on the end and shoved it in the wreath. Repeat this about 400 times and voila, you have a sweet little wreath!
The flowers were made from burplap and a variety of circles. I used the Pool Party fabric in the middles, then just did a running stitch to get the flowers to "pucker" a little bit. The white flowers are those from the last catalogue and I then just used the antique brads in the middle. I'm happy with the outcome...hope you are too! Have a wonderful start to your week!

I know, I know.....HUGE GASP!!!! Can you believe it!?!? I have done a TRADITIONAL page...not a lick of MDS on this page! What has come over me:)
I LOVE the colour combination on this page and really think it makes the photos pop. I used Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party and Elegant Eggplant. It's hard to see in the photo but the Wisteria and Eggplant are textured cardstock.
I created a border strip using the heart edge embossing folder...love this, it just adds a subtle, yet needed element to the page.
The hearts are cut out using the Heart framelits and then lined with Pool Party DSP. You can see in the close up, I did some sewing on the oustide edge of the page as well as along the strips of paper running vertically on the page. The heart embellishment lines up with the strip behind and I think just picks up the purple on MacKenzie's sweet shirt.
I hope you like today's REAL scrapbook page! I enjoyed making this and do miss the "traditional" scrapbooking, but the reality of my world is I'd be still working on Mark's baby book (and he's 10) if I did it this way:)

This card was a little more time consuming than I had originally planned for it to be, but am thrilled with the final results.
The card base is Soft Suede with Riding Hood Red and Very Vanilla. I stamped the background in Crumb Cake and then did a ton of sponging in Crumb Cake and Soft Suede. The background flowers are stamped in the same colour combination and then cut out. Before I attached them to the card I curled the petals under a little bit. The leaves were stamped in Artichoke, cut out and sponged. The flower in the forefront was stamped in Calypso Coral and Riding Hood Red, sponged and then cute out.
The ribbon is the Crumb Cake Taffeta. The other embellishments are stitching, Tiny Tags, Jewelry Punch and Antique Brads. I hope you like todays card!!! Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your day! Take care,

Today's creation is actually a gift from Stampin' Up! I believe that Selma created these gems for us and they will be treasured! Thank you so much! I was honoured with being in the top 10 for Artisan this year, which means I am on the first Design Team that Stampin' Up! has created! I am super excited about this and can't wait to share projects and samples with all of you in weeks and months to come!
As part of our award we got to have a very special dinner with Shelli and her husband Sterling, Amy and her husband Marco, Amy and Robyn (design team members for Stampin' Up!) plus the 10 recipients. At each of our place settings were these fun menus, a personalized box and inside the box is this adorable stamp! So excited, thank you Stampin' Up!

I have to apologize that I am not following this week's theme. As much fun as I had MDSing earlier this week I didn't get my page done for today as I had hoped:) Hopefully you're okay with this:)
I think because I live with Emma on a daily basis I don't see the changes, but creating this page I realized she is really turning into quite the young lady! I can't believe it! She is a lot of fun (especially when things go her way) and I truly hope this continues in the years to come!
I used the Patio Party kit to make today's page. It is clean, simple and to the point. I often put "too much" on a page so I wanted this one to focus on Emma and just have enough colour and detail to wow up the page. Hopefully I've accomplished this!

I hope you are enjoying all the MDS pages! I've been having a ton of fun doing this! This page uses non other than the Fan Fair kit. The fun thing about this DSP is that they are all "aged" or "distressed". Aren't they pretty???
These photos are of the five of us in Pittsburgh last summer (hard to believe that was a YEAR ago!) I have finished my Pittsburgh book (in 8 1/2 x 11) but realized my family album didn't have a page saying we'd been to Pittsburgh so this is what I came up with:)
The frames, embellishments including the postage stamp and the post card are all from the Fan Fair kit.
These pictures make me happy and make me realize how much my kids have grown in the past year! WOW!!!

Rain, shine, summer, winter ... MDS is easy to use, portable and just plain old fun! Don't get me wrong, I love to touch and feel and have the "real" products in my hand, but on "down" days sometimes it's just fun to plunk away on the computer while hanging out in the yard with the kids and get some MDSing done!
I know I've shared photos before of our sweet little MacKenzie, but I like to have a page in my book different than the ones I have on my wall. SO, this is my wall page. This is NOT a baby download kit...but it sure could be! It's the Birds of a Feather kit....isn't it ADORABLE!!!
The DSP, the embellishments, even the letters "b", "a" and "y" are from this kit! I added drop shadows on the birds so when I had this printed it looks SO SWEET!!!! They really pop off the page!

This swap was given to me by my friend and downline Teresa. I love that she used my FAVOURITE colour (thanks Teresa!). At Convention my team and I swap "pillow gifts" which are fun ways to create nice treats for friends. We all swap on the first night of Convention. I think at times it's almost more exciting than Christmas! LOVE the organizer, thank you Teresa!

It's Tuesday! You know what that means ... hopefully by now if you visit my blog I bug you enough (or should I say remind you enough) that it's download day!!! Can't wait to see what SU has in store for us today (no pun intended!)
This page of Emma uses all elements from the Floral District download. I really liked the floral background DSP but wanted it to go all the way across the page, so I used three punches for the background and only used the right portion of that DSP...tricky, eh?
The strips of DSP are from the Floral District DSP...the blue and purple circles are my favourite for SURE!!! The title is also in this stamp brush set. I included a little bit of journaling on the right of the photo in Whisper White...in real life you can see it.
The last little "part" to this page are the hearts and I just colour matched them to the DSP. I used the misstitched downlaod for the line of stitching that goes through the middle of the hearts. As I'm sure you've figured out already this is one of my favourite kits both in real life and on MDS. I truly think it is my colour palette! This was a fun page to put together of my little monkey Nathan.
To create this page, I used the clothesline from Celebrate Any Day kit. Then the flowers are from the Comfort Cafe embellishments. The DSP strips were just made with punches. The background is made with Summer Starfruit at opacity 60%, then I put the chevon overlay on top....cute, eh?
The text box is from the Comfort Cafe suite as well! I hope you like today's page and I hope you have a WONDERFUL week!

Birds of a Feather is such a sweet download kit! I love it! I'm not sure if it's the crisp colour combination or the sweet little chubba birds that make me happier!
I created this 6x6 card for the Stampin' Up! display boards at Convention and have since used it for a family friend's party! I just love it! The card is non other than Summer Starfruit...my favourite! The birds on the line are just so sweet!
This download kit comes with the punches on the banner (both of them). I just shrunk them down super small and aren't they adorable!?!?!
The inside of the card comes uses a stamp from this download as well (the date, time, location, rsvp). Isn't it cute!?!? And of course the smattering of birds is just so cute...don't you think?
And of course when you print a card with SU you can design all four sides....so why not!?! The back of the card is the last image on this post...who wouldn't want to come to a party like this one:) It was for a first birthday, and I'm excited to make a matching scrapbook page as well!

Happy Saturday to you! As I'm sure you've guessed, I am having an amazing time here at Convention! I truly have a wonderful group of women on my team and we are having a blast here in Salt Lake City! Hard to believe we go home tomorrow!
I was honoured to be one of the top 20 selected this year for Artisan. As part of this experience the 20 women did a swap on Thursday and I thought I'd share the card I made for the swap. We created 25 (which is about 24 more than I'd usually make of a creation) BUT it was SO worth it and you should see the swaps I received in return....don't worry, I'll share!
This uses the Ronald McDonald stamp set for this year (it is so sweet!) (think it's called Moving Forward). The colours are Wisteria Wonder, Island Indigo and none other than Pool Party.
To create the clouds I used circle punches (and got this wonderful idea from Heather Klump, one of last year's amazingly talented Artisan winners). I used Tombow glue on the Baker's Twine and I think the rest is pretty self explanatory. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! I do have two posts for you today, but I thought I would first give you a quick Convention update. We are having so much fun here in Salt Lake City! Between classes, swaps, stamping and friends, I'm not sure it can get much better!
Last night was Awards Night and I have to say that I was so pleasantly surprised, blown away and honoured! I am excited to share with you that I was selected to be one of ten Stampin' Up! Artisan winners. For those of you that aren't sure what this is, each year Stampin' Up! opens a contest to all their demonstrators to submit 10 projects. You are then ranked and voted and they select 10 winners from all the submissions. I am VERY excited to share in this experience with so many talented ladies and can't wait to share my projects not only from what I submitted for this contest with you but also in the upcoming months there will be some treats and surprises!!!!

...is Floral District?!?! Aren't these colours bright and fun? I love the combination! They just make me happy. The first thing I thought of when I saw this paper was Easter.....so, I redid my Easter page and this is what I eneded up with!
To make this page, I simply created square punches filled with DSP (about 1 1/2). I then layered them around the outide of the page. The ones on the left, I drop shadowed on the bottom, the ones on the right, I drop shadowed on the top. The squares on the top I drop shadowed to the left and the ones on the bottom I drop shadowed to the right. I thought this made it look like layerd scraps.
Then I did a few square stitches around the outside. The inner square is colour matched to the yellow in the DSP. The photos are in the punches, Check This Out. The embellishment is from the Floral Distict kit....cute, eh?

Well, today is the day! It's the first day of Convention! I am SO exicted!!! There are 17 of us celebrating and anxiously awaiting all the festivities there will be over the next few days! Can't wait! Today we'll head on over to the Convention Center, register, get our bags and tonight we have an MDS class! Can't wait!!! SO, I thought it'd be fun to share an MDS project with you today:)
While driving cross country for Mark's football, I realized that I needed a birthday card for a friend...yes ASAP! No time to make a card, so while Adam drove I MDSed (yes, that's a word) and made this card so all I had to do was hit print when I got home to turn around and leave for the party:)
The inside carries the same theme. All of the stamps and embellishments (except for the brad) are from the Fun Fair Suite...stamps, embellishments, paper and more! You'll love it! I like the journaling block in the inside of the card as well:) The lace is actually a stamp but doesn't it look great?!?!

13 years!!! WOW!!! 13 is my most favourite number around so I can only imagine what fun we'll have this year to celebrate our anniversary! This may actually be the first year we celebrate:) I know that sounds funny, but more often than not we are on family holidays on our anniversary, which is awesome as we're together but somtimes I'm at Convention or life has gotten in the way:) We always do a date night sometime around the day so this year I'm determined to have a year full of date nights!
OK, enough of my babbling! I saw this card on Pinterest (sorry the link didn't go back to the original creator.....) and knew I had to case it! My club girls were asking for a brayer card so this is what we did! Super easy.....the background is brayered using So Saffron, Cajun Crazy and Cherry Cobbler. The "moon" is masked with a 1 3/4 inch circle after you brayer the entire background in So Saffron. This truly is a quick and simple brayer card and I can't wait to make more using other stamps and colours....it's fun to revisit those "old" tools sometimes! Well, I know our day will be lots of fun and I hope yours is too!!! Thank you for visiting!

It's GAME DAY! I love game day....including today we only have three more football games with Mark's football team! He is having so much fun playing football this season and we've been having fun with the football families as well! Good times all around.
A few weeks ago we had a Simply Stars team meeting (which are always fun)...that's my group of demonstrators. At our meetings we often participate in a Pinterest Swap. What this means is we switch names and then we stalk their Pinterest Boards and make something that they have "pinned". So I had the pleasure of creating for Becky.
Now, I'm sure you're wondering why there are two blank circles, well, I created her page and then had to give her a little homework. She is going to email me two photos and I'll insert them in the circles and reprint it for her so she can have someone special to her on her page (I almost filled the photos with pictures of my kids and Adam but didn't think her husband would go for that:)

Happy Friday to you! And to make it an even happier Friday, it's the 13th! I LOVE the number 13! My mom's mom's favourite number was 13 (she had so many lucky things happen to her on the 13th) so I think as a child I took on her love of the number and it's always stuck with me! So, I hope you have a wonderful 13th day of July:)
Today's challenge was created by Amber. I have to say I was super excited to see my favourite colour on the list! We had to create a project using any combination of the following: Wild Wasabi, Pacific Point, Primrose Petals, Going Gray, Summer Starfruit and Pool Party.
I know, I know, I should have created out of my comfort zone and NOT used my favourite combination of Summer Starfruit, Pool Party and Gray...but I didn't! I thought I'd leave that up to you to enjoy:)
So this is Maggie...NOT the newest addition to our family, rather my sister-in-law's. I do have to say that the heart strings were pulled VERY hard when they BEGGED to bring home Maggie's brother but I couldn't do it. Hard, I know...look at their eyes!!!! Anyhow, this page was fun to create and we love to get our visits in:)

Can you tell this too is a favourite set from the catalogue!!! It's funny though, I've used all the boots but the Halloween one so far! That is SO unlike me! The cowboy boots are fun and will make great "man" cards for congrats or even birthday! Excited to make more of these.
I did use my retired star punch on this card (I am obsessed with stars for some reason so you didn't think I'd actually get rid of this punch did you:) I cut the words apart from the boots so I could use the greeting on a different sheet and then the boots can be apart as well. That is one of the amazing features of the clear stamps...you can cut them apart and then reassemble them on a block if you want to!
The colours on this card are Soft Suede, Summer Starfruit and Pool Party. Here's a list of other "stuff" used to make this one:

Well, as you may know, I LOVED LOVED LOVED our camping trip we just did! The only thing that wasn't so fun was that it was only two nights. Friends of ours invited us to join them in Algonquin for a few days. So, Gramma offered to take Cole (thanks Mom!) and off we went! I am so pleased that I had as much fun as I did...I'll be honest, dirty feet and public washrooms I can struggle with, but I changed my attitude and away we went! What fun! I can't wait until we do this again!
Then, when I got home last night and checked out the newest downloads I squeeled:) Check out these cute pages I did in MINUTES! I took off the "school" words and added a few camping stamps and voila, I've got two pages done from our trip! LOVE templates! This download is called Back to School. Now, I will admit, seeing as we are only in week two of summer holidays, I was a little disappointed to read the title of this kit, but I got over it pretty quick:)
Well, hopefully you don't get sick of the pages or photos as I've got more coming for you over the next little while! For this second page, the original template just had the one row of photos and fun green background. So, I just quickly copied and pasted them so I could add a ton more pictures to the page. Thanks for holding down the fort while we were away! We just spent the last three days camping in Algonquin Park with our friends from Australia! We will miss the Gilberts as they continue their travels out east for the summer but are glad to have spent some time together. Let's just say I'm sure glad that my mom is SO kind and offered to have Cole these past few days. Camping was a blast (and I'll bore you with photos soon, and MDS pages....actually, check back this afternoon as I have another post for you:) BUT it truly wasn't the place for Cole. It was "true" camping (let's just say I was happy to come home and shower!)
Today's card was made in one of my moods. You know when you get in a stamping "funk" and sometimes you feel unmotivated....well this is the result of that mood. I challenged myself to use only what was laying around on my desk and NOTHING else! So, voila...here's what was laying around:) (sorry the photo isnt' better) This set makes me smile and I'm excited to put together a little card kit with them. This page was created a few weeks ago for Father's Day 2012. I always take a picture of Adam with the kids and then I have them hold what ever it is they make him in the photo so we always remember:) I'm not the most organized with these "real life" items so taking pictures of them is a great compromise:)

Happy Monday to you! I didn't think I "needed" the new butterfly, truly...why do I need the butterfly! Well, you can see why, can't you?
I just love the details in the butterfly and it's just so pretty on it's own. The colour inspiration today came from the International Bizaar DSP...LOVE that paper although at times struggle with how to use it...I"ll get over it though:) The colours on this card are: Pacific Point, Lucky Limeade, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry and Bashful Blue! YUMMY!
All the butterflies are layered on 1 1/4 inch circles then 1 3/8 inch circles. I only put a dab of glue on the middle so I could pop up the wings on them.

Thanks for all the well wishes for football yesterday! It was a successful day, Mark had fun and we enjoyed time together! Good thing we love football as Mark wants to play YEAR ROUND (we shall see about that one:)
In the meantime, to crack the heat I thought I'd share a little Christmas gem with you:) As I'm sure some of you can guess this was a TOP pick for me out of the new catalogue. I love this set, it is so sweet (and me!)
I used the new In Colours on this card to show how fun the non traditional colours can be for the holidays - Primrose, Raspberry and Gumball. Aren't they fun?
I stamped the penguin three times and then cut out the hat and the scart. I know I could have markered them, but I'm much better at cutting than I am at markering:)
The "no peeking" is stamped in the Raspberry on the decorative label and popped up. I used the paper piercing template around the label to "match" the circles in the text. Have I mentioned how much I love this template:)

Big game today! Mark is LOVING the Thunderbirds football and just gets so excited about his game days. We are playing Oakville today on home turf so should be lots of fun!
I know this card is early as we still have three weeks of football left in the season, but I wanted to get these done ahead of time so that it didn't slip away from me. I really hope the one thing that I can pass on to my kids is the importance of saying thank you. I think this is sometimes an overlooked element (been guilty of this often!)
SO, I had Mark "help" (that would be pick out the colours and be my little "slave" - his words) while we put a few different cards together for his coaches. This card is Summer Starfruit and Garden Green, which are pretty close to his team colours. I used the new sport stamp set from the catalogue (which I can say I LOVE!) I wasn't "allowed" to use bling, buttons, ribbon, glitter or anything girly! So as you can see, pretty simple, clean and "manly" (another Mark word). Hope you like this one! What a fun theme for this week...monochromatic! It was a tough one for me to pull off and the pictures really don't make it monochromatic....but I only used black on this page...filling punches, overlays and text:) I saw this layout idea on Pinterest, clean and simple but I love it!
I thought Mark's football pictures would be hard to scrapbook this season as his colours don't really "match" SU, but I've been having fun and am happy with the results!

I think I can get used to this life! LOVE summer holidays! Sleeping in, lounging in jammies, maybe doing a little work and enjoying the family - what fun! Today's post will be a quick one though as we're off on a little adventure today (which means no jammies....but does mean a nice cup of coffee in the van with everyone strapped in staring out the windows!)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pokey doodle (paper piercer) and all the corresponding mats. They are amazing! One fun thing you can do with these templates is use them as a sewing guide. For the heart, I simply pierced around the outside of the heart (which is one of the templates). I pierced every other hole and then this was my guide for stitching the bakers twine around the heart! Cute, eh? Can't wait to see what creations you come up with using this same technique! Please leave a comment on here if you do so I can check out your blog or card sample on Splitcoast! As I'm sure you've guessed I love this set! And as you can also guess I'm sure I seem to always stamp three of them...not sure why, but that's what I do:) I also love to use the cupcake punch to make clouds for this set!
I have a good friend, and downline, Christine that is moving to Edmonton. We are super excited for her as it's time she will share with her husband who is often away with work BUT selfishly we wish she were staying. The one wonderful think is we will stay very connected (whether you like it or not Christine!) through Stampin' Up! and will meet up at stamping events...you can count on that one!!!
So rather than being too mushy, I wanted to remind her to have fun and know the sky is the limit! I know you'll do AWESOME with your move Chris, but know you'll be missed here!!!!
As for card, it's using Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Island Indigo. I LOVE the International Bazaar DSP (these colours and patterns are FUN FUN FUN!) The bottom of the card is done with the edgelits die and then paper pierced to match.

This is a super fun download! LOVE it! It came out a couple weeks ago, called Pinwheels on Parades! It has super fun DSP and the pinwheel embellishments:) I love it!!! These photos were taken on May 24 weekend at our neighbours house for the yearly firework show. It was such a fun night and the kids had a blast with about a million other kids just playing and being kids!
This page is created using the Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit colours, which are this year's In Colours. The accent colour is Baja Breeze. LOVE this kit...are you sick of me saying this wiht every kit I download...yes, I am an enabler and am proud!

Well, we are in FULL summer mode already! Emma is sleeping in until NOON (which will drive me crazy if this is a daily activity:)

It's hard to see in the photo, but I used the Dazzling Details on the "fluffy" part of the boots....cute eh!?!?!

What a fun event to share....a wonderful woman in my life AND the greatest country to celebrate and live in (sorry to all my friends around the world, but I'm a little biased:) I don't have a Canada Day card today to share, and I shared my Grandma's card a coupld of weeks ago.
SO, I thought I'd share something else near and dear to my heart....Ronald McDonald House Stamp Set. I love that Stampin' Up! donates money from each stamp set that is sold each year. SO, it's always top of my list for sets to purchase. The "ribbit" is from the animal stamp set (forget the name...shocker!) The inside of the card has the rest of the greeting in it:)
To create the sailboat, I stamped it three times...once in Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Pacific Point. I cut each element out and then paper piered it onto the Whisper White paper. It's a little touch to see, but I used the scalloped oval punch to create some clouds in Whisper White. It's very subtle, but I'm happy with the look:)
The ribbit was stamped on the new ticket punch, but you can't see it because I added the Pumpkin Pie brads. To create the waves, I used the circle punch and just went along the edge of the DSP. Neat trick, eh?
