Bootiful!

What a fun night last night! I just LOVE my stamp clubs, my stampers and well, stamping in general! Thank you so much to each and every one of you that help bring that perma stampin' smile to my face:)

Now, are you surprised??? This was TOP of my list for a MUST have when I saw the new catalogue! The Halloweein boot is my favourite BUT these Wellies are a CLOSE second. I love them!

This card is Summer Starfruit, Cherry Cobbler and Pool Party. I coloured the boots with the markers, but I blender penned the clouds to get a softer middle to the clouds.

Can you see what I used on this card.....the circle paper piercer mat on the circles! LOVE LOVE LOVE the new paper piercer stuff!!! It is fabulous!

The other elements on this card are cupcake clouds (the top of the cupcake highlighted with Pool Party), Rhinestones, Pool Party ribbon and the chevron dry embossing folder....fun stuff!

Year End Trip....for Nathan!

Have I told you how much I love Nathan's teachers!?!?! Truly my kids all had the best teachers this year, I was thrilled with ALL of them and feel so lucky to have such wonderful educators caring for my kids! I can only hope next year is as great....BUT who needs to think about that right now when we only have TWO more days of lunches....today and tomorrow!!! WHOO HOOOO!!!

A few weeks ago, Nathan's class went to Circle R Ranch for a field trip. It was so much fun. Nathan was REALLY nervous getting on Skittles (the pony) but he managed and sat on him for the picture and quickly got off:)

This was a fun page to put together. I used the Storytime Kit....isn't it sweet!?!!? I LOVE LOVE LOVE all the DSPs and the embellishments. The are perfect for this page! Thank you Stampin' Up! I made the background by making punches and putting them at a 45 degree angle to make the quilted background. Cute, huh?

Happy Download Day!

GUESS WHAT??? After today there are only TWO MORE LUNCHES (for 3 kids!) to make! Can you even remotely tell how excited I am! I think I'm more excited about that than download day...is that possible!?!?

I love that hexagons are "in" right now. I have no idea why, it's like banners on everything:) Hexagons are so mathy and so fun:) I used the Keep In Touch kit for the DSP on this page...isn't it fun!?!?

I made the background by colour matching to the squares on the DSP and then used an overlay on top of it in Whisper White at opacity 40%. Fun, eh?

The font is in Kaleigh and the "pond" is done using the epic overlays stamp set. I hope you like today's page...it was a super fun day and had fun making the page. None other than Sharon Creek with our friends from Down Under!

Paper Roses

It's Monday! I hope you had a great weekend! Ours was full of fun! It began with a great field trip with Mark's class, which was so much fun! Mark's teacher is wonderful and puts forth so much effort and time for the kids and it showed on our full day "race of London". Then football in Sarnia on Friday night, which was great as we got to see my aunt and uncle at the game as well! Then Saturday was a fun end of year staff "do" for Adam and families....just lots of fun stuff! Anyhow, it's Monday and the beginning of the LAST week of this school year...SO EXCITED!!!!

Today's card was a fun one to put together with my stamp club this month. There are a few "new" things for you to enjoy as well as some "old". The colours on the card are Pink Pirouette, Basic Grey and Rose Red.

I am really loving the new embossing folder, Fancy Fan....isn't it so sweet? I used the new stamp set, Elegant Eleanor on the Pink Pirouette layer, the top layer is a new die (so cute!) and then the roses are edged with some bling! As for the old, the thinking of you is from the first stamp set I ever bought (and is long since retrired) but it was perfect for this card. The roses were made with scalloped circles and then a little Pink Pirouette taffeta. I hope you like today's card!

Cleveland Ohio Style

You'll notive that I've been sharing quite a bit of MDS lately (which of course I hope you enjoy). There are two reasons you've been seeing a ton of it....#1. I LOVE IT (shocker, I know!) AND #2. I'm trying to get my January to June 2012 book done here by month's end (and I'm pretty close!) I always print a 12x12 hard cover book - one January to June and another July to December. This book will I think be my biggest yet and will be JUST about 100 pages:) Oops...I guess we've had a little too much fun so far this year:)

Now, I think way back when I shared a bunch of Cleveland pags with you. They were 11 x 8 1/2 and were for a different album. I like to do a full book for each trip we take and then in my "year in review" book, I just create a page or two to highlight the trip and remind us that we took that particular trip. (I know, I'm a little...okay a lot....retentive:)

This page was done using the hostess MDS disk Keep In Touch! I love it! It has a really "retro" feel withe the telephones and a cute TV (you'll see on another page I'm sure!) I love all the envelopes and post cards in the kit. This page was super quick to come together (which of course makes me happy too:) I really appreciate your stopping by today, thank you! Take care,

A Sweet Little Package...

It's funny. The thing that got me into Stampin' Up! was packages! I love them, I love 3D, I love the math involved and they are just plain old fun! BUT, lately I haven't been making many packages and I'm not sure why. I think maybe it's because I've been lazy, and loving the Big Shot dies that do all the work for me! Well, I'm going to challenge myself to work on a fun package in the near future....just because!

In the meantime, here's today's quick post. for this package I used the fancy box die in Night of Navy (although Midnight Muse would have been even better...just don't have that in 12x12...yet) I then took a 1 x 12 inch piece of the Comfort Cafe DSP and scored every 1/4 inch. This is what I used to create the little rosette. Then inside this I used the 1 3/8 inch circle punch in the Night of Navy and a 1 1/4 in the Summer Starfruit.

The butterfly is from the embosslit (the biggest one) in Cajun Craze. Then I punched holes in the package on each side, threaded the beautiful ribbon through and tied a bow off to the side. Cute, eh? Clean, simple and practical! I hope you like today's little creation and I'll see you again tomorrow! (oh, I'm using this package as a hostess gift for a dinner we have tonight!!!) MDS Blog Hop ... Celebration

What a fun theme for this week. Let's Celebrate! Well, there are so many things to celebrate in our daily lives, and I think I speak for most of us! I decided to do my page on a theme picked by Emma....the last day of school! Now that's a reason to celebrate....for all of us!

Now unlike a lot fo my fantastic blog viewers, my kids actually aren't done school yet:( These pictures were from last year, but I'll make sure I take pictures of the kids getting off the bus on the last day of school...in another week! Can't wait...I love having the family home together!

I used the Good Day Kit to make this page.....the colours make me happy! I had fun making the border strips around the pictures which I think help make the photos pop:) The embellishments were all from this kit as well ... it's a good one worth checking out!

Still Lovin' Summer Starfruit!

I just didn't want any of you thinking that because I haven't featured this little gem lately that I'm falling out of love! NOT POSSIBLE! I was in one of those "what should I do" stamping moods and saw a few scraps of the Summer Starfruit coloured DSP (one is from Patio Party, the other from Comfort Cafe). And of course a little piece of Pool Party was just sticking out....so voila...the perfect combination!

I used the flower from Mixed Bunch and stamped it in the Summer Starfruit. The main one on the right is stamped on Whisper White and then punched out with the matching punch.

I used the beautiful little flower embellishment with a glue dot in the middle of the punched out stamped Pool Party image. I layered this on a Summer Starfruit card stock. For the flower, I ran my bone folder over the backs of the petals so they would curl backwards just to add a bit more dimension:) Hope you like today's card!!! moments....

I was on a roll with the MDS creations and thinking outside the box:) This page was created using the World Travelers download! You'd think it's meant for travel, but these colours are FANTASTIC and can be used for so many things! I love the tags in this kit, the colours, the embellishments...the whole package!

This page is from our family hike in May. The kids were all wearing matching LIME green shirts so I changed the photos to sepia and antiqued them which I thought looked great with this page.

The font is CK Bella, which is similar I think to my hand writing, so I tend to use it a lot:) It was one of the free font Friday downloads.

BBQ Blitz

and it's not a BBQ!!! The wonderful thing about digital creating is that so many things can be done with a download! AND guess what!?!? It's download day! So don't forget to check them out and think outside the box:)

The frames used on this page are actually "tents" from this kit. I think the intention is to write say for example the food, or place cards on these little tents, print them, fold them in half and then voila....a little tent. BUT I saw it as photo frame!

These papers and colours are fresh and fun. The checked background is in Marina Mist as is the polka dots on the bottom of the page. The other colours on this page are Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade and Daffodil Delight.

The circles at the bottom are from this kit as well (they are called coasters). The star behind the words is also from the stamp brush from the BBQ Blitz.

A few other elements on this page are:

transparent tape, glimmer brads, smitten alphabet

Old meets New....and they work:)

Happy Monday! Well, I survived the dreaded cleaning and actually ended up just putting on some music and working away and it really wasn't SO bad:)

Now, you'll have to forgive me as I forget the names of all these elements on today's card but I'll do my best to tell you about it! The colours are Island Indigo and Calyspo Coral sponged in Soft Suede. The "stamped" layer is Crumb Cake just coloured in using our SU markers. I like the look of this as it mutes the colours and soft of "ages" it.

I did do some sewing on this card (can you tell I've had my machine out a lot lately:) I did it around the outside of the card as well as a zig zag on the bottom of the elephants. I also added a couple of little lines on the circle layer and then I sponged the thread so it wasn't quite as obvious.

I really do like this DSP and am excited to make some more projects using it! In the meantime, enjoy your day!!!!

Betsy's Blossom

Cleaning, cleaning, is so much fun! Have I convinced you of this, as I'm trying REALLY hard to convince myself of this. I try so hard to do a little cleaning before the kids get up but boy do I lack motivation and drive in this department...coffee, couch and computer sounds so much more fun!

Well, let me procrastinate just a little more and share today's card with you. It uses the stamp set Betsy's Blossom. I'll be honest, I wasn't thrilled with this set when I first received it (compliments of SU...thank you!) I was unsure how to put the elements together and so I just went for it. I'm happy with the result and you'll see me pulling out this set again soon!

Up, Up and Away

Good morning to you! Today is another football day...looking forward to it! We play Twin Cities today....we...I should say Mark and his team:)

Well, wasn't I just OVER the moon when I opened the Floral District DSP package to see this DSP!?! Pink and Orange....LOVE this colour combination.

Today's birthday card was fun to put together. I used the cupcake punch, lightly sponged with Baja Breeze for the clouds. The Regal Rose balloon is stamped directly on the Whisper White background. The Rose Red was cut out from a different layer of Whisper white as was the Pumpkin Pie balloon. The Rose Red balloon was popped up using dimensionals.

As you can see, I had fun sewing all over this card:) Some of you have asked what I used to sew on my cards. I have a $200 Singer that I love. I use the same needle and thread on my sewing projects as I do on on my paper projects. the only trick is, I don't put adhesive under where i am going to sew. I do this so my needle doesn't end up all gummy.

MDS Blog Hop ... Father's Day Theme

Happy Friday to you! It's a fun one around here as Emma and I (and a bunch of her closest friends....the grade 7 and 8 orchestra) are heading to Canada's Wonderland for the day! It's pretty fun, they will play I think two songs first thing and then have the day to spend in the park! Wish me luck:)

In the meantime, today's MDS blog theme is Father's Day! I absolutely am a sucker for this digital kit...storytime. All the little kids graphics are just SO cute and since we have a million kids (we're told that all the time) I thought I would just use the template Stampin' Up! created with this kit for today's page! Isn't it ADORABLE???

I will switch up these photos though on this page as I'll use photos from Father's Day (this Sunday) of Adam and the kids. But, I'm thrilled to have the page done and ready and I hope you'll consider checking out the templates Stampin' Up! works hard at creating for us, as they are WONDERFUL! It's HAIR DAY!!!!

I love hair day! The best part is spending time with my friend Christie that never seems to happen (because of me!) and then of course a fun new "do".

Today's post is quick and simple. My friend (and downline) Marja made these little gems for everyone at our last downline meeting. Isn't it ADORABLE? I'm sure the reason I love it SO much is because it has my favourite colour, chocolate and was made with love...can it get any better!!!

Marja used the butterfly Big Shot die, ran it through the polka dot embossing folder, wrapped a nugget in DSP and then tied the hemp around it! This is then attached to the butterfly! So quick, simple and cute! I will be making these as year end gifts I think for all the staff at my kids' school...with their help it shouldn't take too long!

Another Birthday.... Floral District

Happy Wednesday to you! I hope you're having a great week! These colours are fun, don't you think? They are not ones I would have put together but boy do they work! This is one of the great things with our papers...it gets us thinking outside the box for colours and patterns!

This card is Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight! Yummy, eh? The paper is from the Floral District package of paper. I used the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and matching framelits (isn't is sweet!?!!)

The ribbon is the new grosgrain ribbon in the catalogue. It sure ties nicely and sits nicely.

To make the cake I stamped the images on the DSP and cut them out on the card. I hope you like the fresh, fun colours! Have yourself a great day!

Feeling a little bit festive....

is that wrong in June? As I've said before, my goal is to get the majority of my cards done for Christmas in JULY! Yes, you read it right! Now the big question is will it actually happen:)

Now as many of you know, I sure do love this stamp set and who knows I may use it for my mass production of cards .... actually it probably won't as there are too many cute ones in the catalogue to use last years...right!?!? Oh we shall see!

BUT one thing I do know is that I LOVE the new Christmas DSP. Isn't it great!? I love the traditionals colours and the festive patterns. I think you'll love it as well!

Happy Monday to you!

I do love Mondays as they are the start of a fresh, new week. And often it's my catch up day, but not today! Today is a busy one! I am excited as it's Nathan's year end field trip to Circle R Ranch (I can only go for half the day though as I've got my afternoon club!) And then of course tonight I have my evening club! Can't wait!

So in light of my busy day, I thought this card was the appropriate one to share today:) The whole "keep calm" thing seems to be a trend right now, so this Carry On hostess set is a fun one!

If you haven't seen the new catty, or noticed the location, the hostess information and sets are at the BACK of the catalogue this year!

This card was fun to make and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this DSP! I simply cut strips of the DSP in a "wavy" line and attached it to the Whisper White. I did add stitching along the edges, but this certainly wasn't necessary. The In Colour Pool Party brads were the perfect addition for this card! I hope you like it!

Kid's Birthday Card

Nathan had a birthday party to go to yesterday so I had to come up with a kid card QUICKLY (like minutes before leaving for the party!) My typical style...last minute sometimes!

I let Nathan pick out the colours and the stamp set so together this is what we came up with. I used Pacific Point and Lucky Limade (what a fun colour combination!) I think this DSP is from the new paper, International Bizarre. I love the fun bright colours in this paper!

The banner and balloons are from Patterned Party and of course the little monster is from Make a Monster. I coloured him in using a blender pen and the ink pad. The only little "extra" on this card is the hand doodling on the desigh...quick and simple. I felt the card needed something and so I thought of my friend Brandi that is the QUEEN of doodling.

Summer Starfruit ...Take Seven

Well, it's been a week of Summer Starfruit! Are you loving it yet? Have you given it a chance? I hope so! This colour combination may be my favourite one....then again, I do love them all!

The colours are Basic Gray, Primrose, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit. I have fun with my dry embossing folders on this card. I used the Fancy Fan dry emboss folder on the top and the Houndstooth on the bottom.

This card is actually a gift card holder as the ink layer on the right side is glued down on the inside of the card.

I used the Tea Shoppe stamp set (so glad this made the current catalogue!) for this one. It'a a little hard to see but I did some background stamping on the Primrose paper just to add a little more detail. The bow is just glue dotted on, as are the flower embellishments:)

MDS Blog Hop...it's MDS gone Hybrid!

What does hybrid mean? Well, in my world, it's when you create something digital, print it and then combine it with "real" elements to make a fun project (real, meaning non digital). Now, my definition could be wrong, but that's what I think of:)

So for this week, I made little tags for some football treat bags I'm making this week. Mark's team is a "travel" team so they go on a bus (which I think is more fun than the actual football game!) While on the bus they have their lunch or snacks and last time they travelled, Mark's friends ate his homemade treats (he shared them). So, I thought this time, I'd send some of Mark's friends their own little snack bags.....so these are the tags that will go on the bags. I don't have the actual printed ones to share with you yet, as I have to get a few more of his friends' football numbers before I print them off:)

One thing I wanted to share with you is the "DSP" behind the Summer Starfruit embellishment (the green stuff). Well, I created my own that has his football team name on it. So, I created the three colours that match his team using punches. Then I made a text box and wrote "Thunderbirds" a million times in it. I changed the font to vanilla, opacity 50% and voila...I have my own DSP. This can be done with ANYTHING...stamps, text, embellishments! The possibilities are ENDLESS!

AND to top it off, I've made this week's page for his game! Now please forgive the weird papers on the page. This is where my photos are going to go after Sunday's game! I love making pages even before the event happens:)

Summer Starfruit ...Take Five

Good mornig to you! What a fun week it's been around here. I'm not even sure what has made it so great, but we're having fun around here! I am TRYING to get a little organized for the end of the school year and getting the teacher gifts done ahead of time. We go right through to the end of the month, BUT I know time will fly by!

I love this stamp set, Greeting Card Kids. This stamp is actually two little munchkins, but I masked out the girl. I kindof think this looks like Nathan so I decied to use it on his year end teacher thank you. What do you think?

I stamped him on the watercolour paper with Staz On, and coloured him in with the following colours:

So Saffron, Summer Starfruit, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Midnight Muse, Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Bashful Blue and Always Artichoke

I used the Comfort Cafe DSP on this card! I just love it! (and it's not just because it has the Summer Starfruit colour in it...I think the combination of all the colours in this card are perfect! I hope you do too!

I added the yummy new ribbon and the new In Colour embellishments on this card! Aren't they great!!!!

Summer Starfruit ... Take Four

Ok, you can be honest....sick of the colour yet!?!? Hope not! Today's creation is actually a quick one, and a quick post to match! It's a bit of a busy day around here today:)

I was going to put a stamp on the card, I tried a greeting but just fell in love with the simplicity of this creation....what do you think?

This card is made using Basic Gray, Very Vanilla and Summer Starfruit. I used the Fancy Fan embossing folder on the top strip. I used the Comfort Cafe DSP below this. Then the Summer Starfruit card stock is dry embossed with the Houndstooth folder and the last Basic Gray is embossed with the square lattice. What do you think?

The new In Colour ribbon ties SO sweetly ... tight, but soft ... you'll love it!!!! Don't forget I have my retired stamp sale THIS FRIDAY NIGHT from 6 pm to 9 pm! Summer Starfruit ... Take Three

Guess what?!?! It's Tuesday! You know what that means! DOWNLOAD DAY!!! Whoo hooo! Now, this page has just a hint of the Summer Starfruit, but it counts, right? I had fun using this new kit, Fan Fair! I LOVE the frames that come with it, the distressed DSP, the banners, and well, everything:) It's a great download!

Now this page has a few elements that aren't from this kit...the palm tree, the background grid, the arrows, the buttons and the words.

I had taken Emma and a few friends to the beach a few weeks back and had fun scrapbooking the page. I tried so many combinations, but I decided the neutral colours (Island Indigo, Vanilla, Crumb Cake) made the pictures pop more. I am looking forward to seeing what this page looks like printed, I think the photos will really jump off the page!

Here's hoping to more beach days soon! This past weekend certainly wasn't one of those weekends! Hopefully your week is off to a great start! Remember, to end your week on a high at my retired stamp sale.....I've done some baking for it as well:)

Summer Starfruit Take Two....

oh, don't you worry, we've got a week of fun coming up!?!? I'm evil, I know but I really want to make you LOVE this colour! It is SO YUMMY!!! Please let me know if you're changing your tune as the week progresses...or maybe you already have!

This colour combination is directly from the new In Colour, Colour Coach palette. It's a beautiful one....Elegant Eggplant, Summer Starfruit and Baja Breeze.

I had fun making this card. The back ground is made by dry embossing only parts of the card stock using one of the new dry embossing folders...fancy fan. I stitched it around the edges and then the bottom of the embossing. Then on the bottom of the "plain" paper, I dragged my nail across this to roughen it up....hope you like it!

The stamps are from the Established Elegance stamp set. the "I'm here for you" is from Petite Pairs. And that's today's card! Have a wonderful Monday!

Summer Starfruit....

ok, so I had my downline meeting on Thursday and the OVERWHELMING response to Summer Starfruit was that basically no one on my team is a fan! I just about had a heart attack and I WILL convince them otherwise (or at least make them pretend to like it:) I LOVE this colour and am so excited about it! So I'm apologizing now, if you don't like it you may see a little too much of it on my site:) What do you think of this colour??? I'd love to hear!

In the meantime, here is a page from Mark's football game yesterday. We played Sarnia and after a rough first half of the game (on both sides....4 fumbles, a bunch of turnovers and some sloppy play....) the team worked together and had a great game!

MDS Blog Hop ... The NEW!

Aren't you just so excited to have the new catalogue go LIVE today!?!?! Starting today at two pm (here in London), noon in Utah! Not only can you order the NEW "real" stamping products BUT the digital downloads go live as well! How awesome is that!?!?! Can't wait...heading to the beach today but may just be home by 2....so I can order!!!!

So for today's "all new" I decided to use my new favourite colour.....Summer Starfruit! I was shocked last night at my downline meeting how people don't love this colour!!! WHAT!!!! It's my favourite and I am going to MAKE you all love this colour!!! Seriously!
