Dare to Dream

What a great statement....Dare to Dream! Maybe that should be my motto for my downline meeting tonight....Dare to Dream...why not!

I am super excited for my team event tonight! It feels like forever since I've seen so many of my "Stars" so tonight will be a ton of fun! I can't wait to share our Leadership experience with my team and have some fun!

In the meantime, this card was fun to stamp...I was inspired by the Brights collection again....maybe it's the sunshine that's putting me in the Brights mood! I loved pairing the stamped images with the buttons....quick, simple and sweet! What do you think?

Pillow Gifts

Mid week already! I love Wednesdays, they are always so busy but lots of fun! Emma has dance class, the kids come to the gym after school, wrestling and club tonight! Whoo hooo!!!

I forgot to share with you my pillow gifts from last week. Whenever my team and I travel to a Stampin' Up! event we exchange a little handmade something that we call Pillow Gifts. It's a fun way to start the stamping experience! I'll share what I received (they were amazing gifts, thank you ladies!) in the near future (have to take pictures of them still). In the meantime this is what I made.

I used the new Twitterpatted fabric (so sweet!) to make these wristlets to hold your keys. They were fun to put together and were well received.

I got the idea for this project HERE. I used these metal rings from Michaels(in the sewing section) as I figured we could hook our key chains onto this ring and now you have an easy to find and easy to hold. Rather than using the batting as suggested on the blog I found it, I used some strapping I had that I had purchased at Fabricland. I'll try and shoot a video on how I put these together (but don't hold your breath as my "to do list" is rather long right now:)

Don't look too carefully at the stitching (my sewing machine didn't like how thick the fabric was). but this gives you an idea of how it is assembled. Basically you have two pieces of fabric, one with the strapping in it, sewn on top of each other. Then you sew it into a circle (use a zig zag stitch) and make sure you put the metal ring in the circle before stitching it together.

Then pick some sort of "wrap" (ribbon, fabric...whatever you like) and sew it over the seam. And voila....you have a cute key wristlet! Hope you like it!

A "real" scrapbook page? What?

GUESS WHAT.....breath, breath, breath! Today is not only My Digital Studio Download day BUT it's also the beginning of Sale-a-bration! How awesome is that!?!?!

OK....so when was the last time you saw a "real" scrapbook page on my blog! It felt AMAZING to create a traditional scrapbook page and I have to say I'm thrilled with the result. These are photos from Cole's second birthday...aren't they ADORABLE?!?!? I had fun using the Brights Designer Paper Pack with the corresponding ink colour using the new Sale-a-bration stamp set! (by the way are you excited about this year's Sale-a-bration!?!?!)

Petal Cone Die

It's Monday! Life is back on track...heading to the gym today with Cole, club is just about ready for tonight, lunches were made and kids are happy! Now just to catch up on laundry and cleaning:) Wish me luck with that HUGE mound! Truly Adam is amazing and while I was away he keeps the house tip top for me, thank you!

Today's creation is inspired by my downline and friend, Renee! She created a super sweet birthday hat for me so I took her idea and made it into a box!

I used the Petal Cone die in Melon Mambo and stamped the star image all over it from Sale-a-bration (which starts TOMORROW!!!) I stamped an additional star on Whisper White and cut it out.

The bottom of the box is just lined with the Lucky Limeade ribbon....love this ribbon! Before assembling the box, I twirled some 1/8 strips of cardstock and attached them to the inside panels of the petal cone die. These would make super cute party favour boxes and come together really quickly! Hope you like it!

I'm Home!

YAY! What a great little getaway I had...thank you Stampin' Up! for always stepping it up and providing us with amazing training, events and fun! Leadership was no exception and I learned a ton and am so excited to share with YOU my customers and friends and downline! I can't wait!

It's the Twitterpatted DSP again! I know...beautiful! This card uses Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Whisper White. It's a very soft colour combination and I think it just pops!

Aren't the words beautiful on this card...it's a new stamp set in the mini catalogue. I love that they can be prettied up, or used on a simple card! I think you'll agree:)

Well, I hate to keep today's post short but I'm off to play with the kids and just hang out! (although I do have some work to do for club tomorrow...AHH!!!)

Sale-a-bration Stamp Set

Hello from San Antonio! Actually, I may be mid flight as you are reading this as I'm heading home today! Usually we stay for an extra day when we are at a stamping event, but this year I decided to get home and spend some time with my family this weekend! It's always crazy busy when I get home on a Sunday so I wanted to get home and spend a great family day with them tomorrow instead:)

Can you tell what DSP inspired this card? I sure miss last year's paper, the orange and pink one...yummy! So, I had to create a card with that colour palette in mind. This card actually uses two of the Sale-a-bration stamp sets (the words are from the second set). Aren't they pretty?

MDS Blog Hop Day!

Happy Friday to you! I hope you are having a great week! This week's blog hop is a fun one! My friend Mandy picked a sketch to use as the starting point for the challenge this week! I was a little intimidated when I first saw the sketch and wondered how I would piece it all together. BUT then I started working with it and fell in LOVE (thanks Mandy!)

I thought I'd do a page maybe for each of my kids and put them in my scrapbook frames with my favourite photos of them from 2011. I'll share the other pages if in fact this happens:)

In the meantime, here is Cole's page. I tried to gather pictures that had different expressions as he is full of them! I think one of my favourites is number 4. It was taken at the CN Tower and Cole couldn't stop staring at the airport on Toronto Island. Fun!

Leadership Make and Takes

WOW! Last night's Manager's Reception was amazing! We watched the Chinese Acrobats of Hebei last night after a nice "meet and greet" social event! It was WONDERFUL to connect with friends and even make some new friends at this event! I will be sharing photos in an MDS page sooner than later:)

In the meantime....we sure are getting a fun package of supplies for our Leadership Make and Takes this year! I will of course share with you the projects we will be making BUT I got to make some fun projects using the supplies and putting my own twist to them! As an Artisan winner I got a fun box of goodies back in November to create some projects for the display boards! I hope you like what I have to share wtih you over the next few weeks!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the colours in this Designer Series Paper selection! Isn't it beautiful? The colours are so soft and feminine and they just make me happy!

The flowers are die cuts that layered so nicely on top of one another. I did "crinkle" them together to make them pop a little more, although not necessary!

love you

It's BEAUTIFUL....San Antonio is what I'm talking about! We had a blast yesterday (even on the plane ride:) I'll fill you in with details and photos so I don't make you read it twice! Just know we are here safe and sound and looking forward to a great three day Stampin' Up! event. Today we have make and takes and then the Managers Reception tonight! Can't wait!!!

In the meantime I thought I'd share a sweet and quick little card that came together SUPER fast! Here is a supply list:

Wisteria Wonder - 4 x 6 scored at 3
Whsiper White - 3 7/8 x 2 7/8, cupcake punch (for the clouds) x 4 (dry embossed)
Wisteria Wonder Bakers Twine (YUMMY!!!!! It's in the mini!)
DSP - it's actually embossed (the dots are popped up....it's new too!)
P.S. I Love You stamp set with Wisteria Wonder ink
clothes pin....that's it!

I can see making a TON of these for Valentine's Day even as a bag topper (or sider....that might be neat to put a cello bag to the right of the image) with some Oreo Truffles in it for the teachers at school maybe...obviously will switch up the greeting though:) What do you think?

Twitterpatted Designer Series Paper...LOVE IT!

It's an exciting day today! I'm on my way to San Antonio with some of my closest friends! Stampin' Up!'s Leadership starts tomorrow and we are going to have so much fun! Today we'll arrive just after lunch so we'll have the afternoon to explore..not to worry I've packed my camera and I'll be sharing!!! If you have any recommendations for either restaurants or things to do in San Antonio right downtown (at the Convention Center) I'd LOVE any suggestions you may have!

In the meantime, this card was completely inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest made by Amanda Mertz. I switched up the card colours but the layout is the same.

My colour combination is Soft Suede, Island Indigo and Cherry Cobbler (with a splash of Pool Party). The DSP is called Twitterpatted and is in the current mini catalogue...it's BEAUTIFUL! You will love it! I love that I can use a few of the patterns as well for "man cards".

The other elements on this card are jewelry tags in the library clip....love it! The bow is two pieces of Cherry Cobbler tied together and then glue dotted on the back of the clip. The edge of the card is dry embossed using the Simply Scored tool as well.

Grandma Day!

Happy Monday to you! It's stamping with Grandma and friends today! I can't wait! I love going to my Grandma's retirement home and crafting with her and some of her friends. I have made some simple cards this month (which I'll share with you soon:) as I have Cole with me today so he may be a handful and the ladies do require a LOT of assistance sometimes so we'll see how we do! Wish me luck and a whole lot of fun!

Today's project is completely inspired by my GREAT friend Missy Shipman! I can't wait to see her this week so this post is for her! This is one of the projects we did at the Tea for Two class last week. It's a slider package that can hold a tea bag as well as a special greeting inside.

The package is made using the Fancy Favour Box...notice the scallop on the top of the box. Rather than using the entire box, you only use the front panel (and include about 1/2 an inch tab around on each side) and the back panel. Attach them together using the tabs and you have a sweet little packet.

Are you loving this DSP yet? It's called Enchantment and will be FREE starting on January 24th when Sale-a-bration returns! Can't wait!

The other little sneak peek is the brad on the top...do you see it in the scallop flower? Isn't is ADORABLE??? Again, it's some free product coming at the end of the month!!! Get excited as there are some AWESOME options this year!!!

The "neat" thing about the slider card is that the two tags die on the inside doesn't come all the way out. It is kept captive in the holder so this sweet package all stays together. I will be sliding a little tea bag under the ribbon in the back and a special little note under the ribbon on the front. Can't wait to share this with a friend!

Patterned Party

Good morning to you! I had a "card emergency" here this past week! At Christmas I always give away a ton of cards to family in friends in little card packs as just a little something special! Well, I must have given away EVERY birthday card I owned so this past week I had to get some birthday cards together and here's one of them! (It's also the card we did at the Strathroy club....thanks again ladies for a fun night!!!)

The base of this card is River Rock...not a colour I use very often, but I should! I used the "man" DSP that I just love to man up the card a bit. I like all the little layers on this card (again inspired by my friend Carrie Gaskin over at Artistic Avenger). I used the stamp set Patterned Party on this card. The pattern strip at the top is stamped in River Rock. The next layer is the new dry embossing folder (hearts) from the mini catalogue. Love this idea of being able to put it in the middle of my card!) Then the paper is pleated and sewn. Lastly, the strip of DSP on the bottom is torn and just offers a little "base" or "grounding" for the card.

I stamped the image in Early Espresso on the Very Vanilla layer. Then on scrap paper I stamped the balloons in Cajun Craze, Not Quite Navy and River Rock. Then I cut them out and mounted them (some are popped up). The edge of the Very Vanilla layer is scalloped with the Decorative Label Punch (which of course matches the Cajun Craze Decorative Label underneath the Vanilla layer.) I sponged the layers with Early Espresso just to "man" it up a little.

For the greeting I stamped the pattern strip on the banner in River Rock and the greeting is in Cajun Craze. And that's it....a "manly" birthday card. Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful Sunday!

You're my TYPE!

This set is ADORABLE! I was trying to make a "man" card with this one so I didn't want to "bling" it up too much! I have my friend, Carrie Gaskin to thank for this layout! She had a super cute card on her blog that I loved and I've switched it up but thank you Carrie for my starting point!

This card uses Basic Grey, Basic Black and Daffodil Delight. The typewriter is stamped in the Grey. I then stamped it again on a different piece of Whisper White and cut out the paper. Then I stamped the greeting on the paper and when I attached it to the card front, the bottom of the page is attached directly on the card front and the top of the page has two dimensionals high so it looks like "real" paper:) Fun, eh?

I used the Colour Spritzer tool on the front of the card. This is a tool I really should use more often than I do. Do you forget about your tools sometimes? I should take pictures of my tools (like my crimper or the spritzer) and hang them by my workspace just to remind me to use them:) Fun idea....but the reality is probably something I'll never do!

The tone on tone is the "Carrie" touch. I loved how she used the Tasteful Trim Big Shot die on the card front using the same colour...she's so smart! Well, I hope you've liked my card today! Busy day around here....hanging out with the kids (and of course Adam too:)

My Digital Studio Blog Hop

It's that time again....Friday! This first week of back to school FLEW by! The kids did great adjusting to being back at school, although Nathan was EXHAUSTED each night. I'm not sure he was up past 6:30 at all this week....

For the My Digital Studio blog hop this week the theme is basically whatever! So I thought I would try and get a little caught up on my Christmas scrapbooking (still have a TON of pages to go!)

I love this page as it's a the grandkids all together.....Adam's sister's children and ours. There are two more cousins but they live too far away we don't get to see them very often:( This was Christmas morning at our house. All the kids piled on the couch and were relatively cooperative! I used a ton of different elements on this page...if you have any specific questions let me know!

P.S. I'm still LOVING you!

Well good morning to you! I hope your week is going amazingly well! I'm sure it is! I'm super excited for my Tea for Two class tonight...first "class" of the New Year and should be so much fun!

So, are you still loving me? Are you getting sick of this set, because I'm not! I LOVE IT!!! Even more than this set, I am loving all the embellishments from this mini catalogue...check out the strip of embossed hearts....SO CUTE!!!!

The bottom of the card is created using the wheel in the mini catalogue, the hearts on the circles are stamped in Early Espresso. This card truly is simple to put together....to simplify it you can use your pokey doodle (paper piercer) and mat pack with a gel pen. That would make the card doable anywhere! The sewing is just an fun "step up".

Gnome Peeking

Gnome peeking today on this amazing Wednesday morning:) I have to admit that this wasn't a MUST from the new mini, but I am so happy to have it! Check out the little "gnome dude", he is ADORABLE!!! I was in a colouring mood the other day and this is the perfect set to satisfy that need:)

Check out the adorable little buttons...aren't they sweet!?!?! They are from the mini adn they come in Baja Breeze and Blushing Bride. I stamped the images in Staz On ink on watercolour paper and then coloured it in using a wide variety of markers.

The card is done on Pear Pizazz with Old Olive. The DSP is NEW from the mini (LOVE it!) and then the Baja Breeze ribbon is just laid on top of the layers....fun, hey!

Well, sorry for the quick post but off to get things done today...maybe the final Christmas stuff will get put away today (and then again, maybe not....) I hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

Off to a great start and another trip to the Tea Shoppe

Good morning to you! Well, we've survived our trip to Toronto (we headed there for the weekend), laundry is caught up, house is clean (er) and the kids had a great start to their school week! YAY!!!! AND to top it off, guess what today is??? It's MDS download Tuesday, don't forget! Check them out HERE....

In the meantime, here is today's card! I LOVE the tone on tone in this card using the Very Vanilla. The doily in the background is a NEW sizzlit that is ever so delicate and beautiful! I'll admit it did take a little while to poke out all the little pieces an details but it was worth it (yes, that's coming from me...the LAZY stamper!!!) I only used a little more than half of this doily on the card. The bottom piece of Very Vanilla is a strip of card stock dry embossed in the Brocade foler (I think).

The card is Riding Hood Red, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla (with a splash of Calypso Coral). I stamped the cups in the three ink colours and cut them out. The bottom two tea cups are popped out with dimensionals. I'm excited to share a video with you on how I've been using the ruffled ribbon and attaching it to my card fronts.

Happy Monday To You!

Good Morning to you! WOW, did this morning come hard and fast! It's Monday, it's lunches, it's snow suits, it's buses AHHH!!! Can we get the holidays back again:) Kidding! Emma and Mark were pretty excited to see their friends today...we'll see how Nathan does! I'm excited for my Strathroy club tonight and to get back into a routine!

Today's post is hard to share today as you have to see it IRL (in real life!) It is a scratch and sniff.....the chocolate on the strawberry is actually embossed with our new Vanilla embossing powder! It is SO YUMMY.....I'm in LOVE! Anything Vanilla is amazing, so this just makes me SO happy!!!!!

This box is perfect for treats for the upcoming "love day" (that's what my kids call it). My friend Renee made me four chocolate dipped straweberries in a box like this for Christmas....so sweet and yummy! Of course chocolates would be perfect in here as well....or a box of cards, tags, anything you can think of!

You can't see it in the photo, but the box is wheeled with the new wheel in the mini catalogue as well!

Tea Shoppe Take Two

OH NO!!! Only one more day of Christmas vacation! I have had a wonderful two weeks with my family but am so ready for some routine back in our lives! I really enjoyed having this extra week after Christmas this year, we had some nice down time! (including some stamping time for me:)

So onto today's card...Tea Shoppe Take Two! I am having so much fun with this set and the Designer Series Paper...it's FREE from Sale-a-bration this year! Are you loving it!?!?! You'll get more sneak peeks soon, not to worry!

In the meantime, let me tell you a little more about this card. It uses the scallop circle punch as the base of the card in Soft Suede. The circle is done with the clear circle die in the new Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper. The tea cups are all one stamp but I cut them out and mounted them on the 1 1/4 inch circles (sponged with Soft Suede). This is another one of the cards we're making on Thursday at my Tea Shoppe class...hope you like it!!!! I've got a couple of spots left if you're interested:)

P.S. I Love You

It's true...I love each and everyone of you that stop by my blog and check out the daily posts!

How sweet is the greeting on this card? "I love the "u" in us." How sweet!?!?! I love that and this greeting made me want the set...crazy, I know!

This card uses the stamp set, PS I Love You, the new Riding Hood Red Pleated Ribbon (so yummy!), a new wheel and some basic colours. This card truly is simple and clean and I love it! I got the idea from a card on Pinterest, and have "Stampin' Upped" it:) I hope you like it!!!

MDS Blog Hope is Back!

YAY! I have missed MDSing and sharing it with you! I have had a few days this week to sit down and catch up a bit on my scrapbooking! I am not CAUGHT up, but certainly have gotten a few pages done (I have about 20 more to do in my July to December book...wish me luck!)

I had fun making this page using the NEW download this week (Number One Kit) and it is just that...NUMBER ONE! I love it! I love the colours, the rustic feel and all the bits and pieces to the kit! Have you checked out the downloads this week? I hope so as they are awesome!

This page is of Nathan and Cole from this fall when they were just out playing in the leaves. I love the pictures that Adam took that just highlight their expressions and the fun they have together!
