Happy Monday to you!  I hope you had a FANTASTIC weekend!  Can you believe it is HALLOWEEN today?  I am so stinkin excited!  I'm not quite done the kids' costumes, but they'll be all put together for tonight (no option, right?)  I hope you have a safe and fun night of trick or treating!

I am so honoured to share some exciting news with you today!  I have been selected as one of Stampin' Up!'s five demonstrator finalists in their My Digital Studio Contest!  In case you aren't aware of this contest, Stampin' Up! hosted a creative contest that involved making one scrapbook page and one card.  Stampin' Up! selected five demonstrators and five customers and are showcasing these on their website.  From here, it's up to the public to decide the top three demonstrators and the top three customers.  SO, this is where YOU come into play!

Birthday Card

I had a wonderful sleep in this morning!  I was exhausted from our fundraiser yesterday!  Thank you so much to those of you that participated!  I really had a wonderful day surrounded by amazing people.  If you ordered a kit to go, they will be shipped early this week, thank you!  I will have a summary tomorrow on my blog (I crashed EARLY last night and didn't do the "paperwork").

I had a couple of emails yesterday asking to see my mom's birthday card for me....so how could I resist!!!  My mom made this beautiful Spice Cake card for me.  It is an interlocking circle card.  What that means is the circles on the front of the card actually "lock" the card and need to be "untwined" to open.

My mom's presentation at my downline meeting was showing how she creates a template to use the Big Shot die so she can "whip" off more of these cards.  I'll do my best to share that with you this week.

Thank you mom for the beauiful card!  I am so lucky to receive such amazing creations (I have more to share that I received from so many wonderful people!!!)  Have a GREAT day!  It's costume day around here...finishing them off for tomorrow night....can you believe Halloween is tomorrow????

Thank you.....Birthday Wishes!

Thank you to so many of you that sent me birthday greetings and well wishes!  It was yesterday and was a great day!  I went into Nathan's class for craft, went to Adam's football game at his school with the kids, ordered in and went to bed early!  Who can ask for more???  (is this a sign I'm getting old:)

On Thursday I had my downline meeting and my tricky ladies sure pulled a fast one over on me.  It was actually very much appreciated (thank you Stars!) and was done in such a fun way - thank you!

Renee made me this sweet birthday hat....how cute is that???  I'm really not sure how she did it, but will find out.  I love how everyone used Spice Cake on my surprises.  I think the curled paper on the top of the hat are my favourite, thank you Renee!

During my downline meeting, different members of my team do presentations.  My mom offered to do a presentation and conveniently asked me if she could go last as she was nervous (starting to think this was in the works for a while!)

My mom demonstrated interlocking cards (that are super cool!)  After presenting the cards and a some fun templates, she demonstrated a box.  I thought this was so super cool and that the circles that folded over the edge actually interlock and "lock" up the box.

My mom then said she needed a hand to open the box as the circles were catching (yes, I still have NO idea what's going on!) and when I opened it up.....check it out!  I love that when my mom ordered the cake she asked for Pool Party icing and Soft Suede (OK, maybe she didn't say those colours...but could have as the colours were a great match!  I did laugh when she told us that she asked the cake store for an extra box as she had to embellish it up!  And it sure was embellishted....check out all the lollies...one is trimmed with ribbon and the other with a dotted edge scallop.

The cake made it home in one piece (although was enjoyed yesterday...thanks mom!)  For the downline meeting we had cupcakes that were so yummy!  But of course my mom couldn't just give out cupcakes they each needed a little holder.  So, all 36 of the cupcakes were in these little gems that each had a lolli flower on it and a scalloped edge top!  WAY too much work and a ton fo fun!

Thank you so much for a memorable meeting, a fun night and being treated so nicely!  I hope your day is GREAT!  Mine is as we are the fundraiser all day today!  Can't wait!

MDS Blog Hop Photo Challenge!

Happy Friday to you!  It sure is a happy day here!  I had the BEST downline meeting last night!  After hosting a downline meeting, or even attending a stamping event, it completely rejuvinates me and confirms why I do what I do!  I am so lucky to have all the amazing stampers in my life!  Thank you for the BEAUTIFUL gifts (and yes, I'll share!) and amazing presentations.  It truly was a GREAT night!

Our challenge this week on MDS was to come up with a photo card.  I am super excited to make my Christmas cards in MDS this year and send them off to print...no pressure, create once, hit send and VOILA!  LOVE THAT!  Now the only thing is WHAT CARD?  I have created three for you today to check out.  Now I will say these aren't the photos I'll be using (have to surprise you later with those:), but I wanted to give you an idea of what my card may look like.

To create all three of my cards I started with a template already created by Stampin' Up!.  The hardwork was done, now all I had to do was plunk in my photo, switch up the colours and voila!  I plunked in a photo on the first template so you can see where the photo was placed......it was a birth announcement card!  How fun is that?  

I switched out the DSP to be the Noteworthy DSP, added a Christmas stamp, a little bling and the ornaments!  Easy Peasy!  I find it hard to even tell they are the same card template as the colours and purpose are so different.

This next card, (and feel free to click on it to see it larger) is actually a tri fold card.  It looks a little "funny" all laid out open, but that's the jist of the card.  I played around with my photos in iPhoto to antique them a bit as I thought it matched the DSP a bit better.  I like to do this to photos when the colours my kids wear don't really match or suit a purpose.  This way you aren't drawn to a set colour or item in a photo and it tends to blend a little more.

As you can see in the photo, it's a really simple card that focuses on the photos...I only used two stamps and no bling on this card.  The template for this card is actually from the Graduation download! How crazy is that????  (I forgot to add the photos in on the original template, but they are in the same spot as they are on the card that I made.

I love the trifold Christmas card and this may be what I end up using for my cards. I love that you can design on the back (maybe include my "year in review" letter or more photos) and there is a large canvas to work with.  What do you think, do you like tri folds?

My last little creation is a Christmas card template, but I wanted to personalize it a little!  I love the simplicity of this card but needed to swtich out the colours just a little bit based on my photo.

For the photo, I edited it again in iPhoto (this is my idea of photo editing...a click or two of a button:)  I selected all the elements and dragged them up a bit on the card.  I then colour matched the ornaments to the photo, switched up the background and inserted a vintage overlay on top.  

Not that I don't love you guys or your stopping by but SERIOUSLY these cards all together took me less than an hour!  How awesome is that!?!?  Now it's just picking which one I like best......I'd love to hear your opinion!  Which one do you like best and why:)  Remember, the photos will be different, but does one card jump out at you a little more?

Stitched Stocking Gift Card Holder

Well, the dentist didn't quite go as planned today!  I had to have a little "work" done and well, let's just say the needle didn't quite take:)  Anyhow, I'm feeling a bit better now, but needless to say didn't get the work done today that I wanted to.

Today's project is actually one that we are making this weekend at my fundraiser!  BUT one thing that is different is the envelope will be white (who knew the Crumb Cake ones retired:)  I'm horrible sometimes with knowing what is still in the catalogue or the names of items...but even still you come back for more:)  Thank you!

This is a little gift card holder with the long envelopes folded in half.  The envelope flap slips under the scallp to hole it in place.  Hope you like today's quick post.  Off to pack for my downline meeting tonight!  Can't wait!

Up, Up and Away

Happy Wednesday to you!  Did you love yesterday's downloads?  I am SUPER excited about the Celebrate Any Day kit and the Handle with Care...so fun!  Yes, you'll be seeing projects made with these in the near future:)  

In the meantime, I wanted to make a card for Emma.  I like to remind her that the world is hers and she can do anything she sets her mind to.  So on this theme, I thought this set was perfect!  The card colours were inspired by the Domestic Goddess DSP line.  Here are the details for this card:

• Pool Party - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, 4 inch circle
• Calypso Coral - 3 1/2 inch circle
• So Saffron - 3 inch circle

It's TUESDAY!!!

Wow!  What a week!  I can't even believe it's only Tuesday with all that needs to be done and all that already has been done!  (does that make any sense:)  I am super duper excited as I get to go into Mark's class today and do crafts with Mark and 30 of his closest friends!  I don't know all the kids in his class this year so that will be fun to meet some new kids and have fun with the old.  I really enjoy one particular child in Mark's class who makes me thank you cards and tells me how my crafting has changed her life (what is not to love!!!)  She is so sweet and I can't wait to see her this afternoon!

Today's card is not a Heather creation.  It's a Sonia creation and it's beautiful!  My friend Sonia is a super talented stamper and she made me this amazing card.   It is sortof a case from a card in the catalogue (but I like hers better!)  You know what's awesome?  The card is actually white!  I KNOW!  She distressed it using her ink pads and sponges.  LOVE IT!!!  The butterflies and colours are just perfect!  I love the DSP....let's be honest, I love everything about this and will be casing it soon (with a video for y'all:)

Alrighty, must get my day started...but before I do, I must check out today's MDS downloads!  Can't wait!!!

Big Shot Stocking Die - Baby Bootie

Happy Monday to you!  Where do the weekends go?  I have to say we had a beautiful weekend (even got my Christmas pictures of the kids done - maybe, unless I change my mind:)  I'm excited to have this off my "to do" list as it is often the first week of December and I'm struggling!  Now, I have been working a little backwards though as my Halloween costumes aren't done yet!

ANYHOW, you're here for a project!  I can't take credit for this project as I saw it on Pinterest and LOVED it!  I couldn't find the original creator, but I did see "Cindy" on the photo's watermark.  So Cindy, thank you!!!   If you know who Cindy is I'd love to give credit to her.  I have modified mine and shot you a video to show you how I made my project!

Nathan's Hard Work....My Digital Studio Hybrid Project

I hope you're having a great weekend!  Ours is super fun!  I am excited to share that I am done all of the cozy orders that have been placed and they will be shipped out tomorrow!  How fun is that!?!?  I've been having so much fun making them, tahnk you!!!

Nathan is doing much better at school now and gets so excited to bring home his adorable projects to share wit us.  For this project, I started with a blank 8-1/2" x 11" page and used punches to create the 8" x 8" Poppy Parade background. It’s very clean and simple. I then used the Timeless Type Junior Letters Punches for his name and filled them in with colors and Designer Series Paper. The colors used on this project are Old Olive, Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade, Pool Party, and So Saffron.  The apostrophe is actually the wing from the bird punch. I then created a text box for the "hard work". To the right of the image you can see that I just made a few punch boxes and filled them with Designer Series Paper. These were made to cover the clothes pin. (I just wasn't sure what color I wanted to use!)

Then I printed the images on the thicker-weighted print options, cut it out, and voila! This project was very simple to put together and hangs proudly in our kitchen!

I also thought I'd share with you a few lunch notes I made for Nathan using the same color scheme. I started sending cards in his lunch every once in a while and he was coming home disappointed if I missed too many days in a row. I don't always have the time to stamp him a card, so I thought that creating little lunch notes would be quick and cost effective!  He got his first one on Friday and came hope pretty happy about it!!!  YAY!  I hope you enjoy your day and I'll be back tomorrow with another stocking die project and video!!!

Witch Leg Treat Holder

Happy Saturday!  How are you?  I hope you have had a great week and are looking forward to a great weekend!!!  Now, I know some of you have seen this post already on Facebook, but let me share it with you (with more details:)

I got a call last week from Stampin' Up! asking if I'd be interested in doing a monthly post on their Facebook page.  So myself, and the other Artisan winners from this year were given the challenge to create a Halloween project!  Of course I had to SCREAM YES!!!!  Who can say NO to Halloween!?!?

So, here's the project that I came up with. Here is the supply list:

I will share a few of the instructions on this project for you.  To make the header for this project I used the Top Note die run through the Snow Burst Dry Emboss Folder and folded in half.  The "lolli" in made using the Rich Razzleberry DSP.  I first scored a 24" piece of DSP (two pieces taped together) every 3/8".  BEFORE folding the DSP, I taped a 24" piece of Satin ribbon to the back of the "lolli".  I then accordian folded the DSP and assembled as I showed in my lolli wreath video.

The middle of the header is made using a 1 3/4" Basic Black cirle, with a popped up 1 3/8" circle and an embossed 1 1/4" circle on top of that.  I used the Rhinestones around the outsdie edge of the 1 3/4" circle.  The banner is 5/8" thick with the stamp from Delightful Dozen.  I added just a tad more bling with the Boho Punch and Itty Bitty Punch Pack flower with the Rhinestone in the middle.  

After putting the jelly bean cellophane bags in the middle of the Top Note, I tied the 1/4" Black Grosgrain around the header.  I glued the "lolli" on the header with a hot glue gun.

The witch's boots are SUPER fun!  I was completely inspirted by my purple witch boots I have in my living room right now for these little gems:)  I used the stocking punch for the boot and cut out the heel.  I then used a 1 inch circle punch (with a 1/2 inch punch cut out) on the toe.  (see my video from the witch boot with the stocking Big Shot die to see how this goes together...same principle just on a smaller scale).  The "laces" on the boot are done using the dotted scallop punch which is the same as under the boot top.  I used stick strip to attach these boots to the cellophane bags.

This week's challenge for our MDS blog hop was a tricky one for me.  The challenge was to create a page using DSP for a different purpose than the paper was designed for!  My take on the challenge was a little lame....BUT I did it!!!  I used the Party Animal Designer Series Paper for a general everyday page of Cole.  

All of the designe elements and DSP are from the Party Animal kit (so cute, eh???)  The overlay on the page is from the Tickets and Tokens download (LOVE this download too!).  The stitching is from the Downtown Grunge kit.

Stocking Die for the Big Shot

I am SUPER excited to be offering a class with this ADORABLE die!  We will be making 4 (maybe 5......) projects using this die!  It is going to be SO much fun!  AND of course we'll make one stocking project BUT there will be 3 other "uses" for this adorable die that you will LOVE!  One of them is this sweet horse gift card holder......or you could make it a card....a banner for a little boy's birthday party.....a card for a horse lover (Linda!).  The possibilities are ENDLESS!!!!

I first saw this idea done with the stocking hand punch on Jackie Topa's blog.  And then of course it's been adapted to the big die that is super fun!!!

Festive Treat Bag

Happy Wednesday to you!  YAY!  We are already mid week...so excited!  It's also club night, which means it'll be a great night!  Can't wait!!!  

Today's project came to me yesterday afternoon and I just had to make it!  I couldn't wait...do you have that happen very often?  I love the stamp set Merry Winter....the little snowmen are super cute!  SO, I decided to use the treat bags I just ordered off the clearance rack (LOVE the clearance rack...if you haven't checked it out I suggest you do:)

I ran the bag through the Big Shot with the flap sticking out.  A few places are "perfectly" embossed, but I love the look!  I am in LOVE with Pool Party and Cherry Cobbler together as well...the perfect colour combination for me!

I embossed the little guy in Black embossing powder (love the shiny look!) coloured him in and made a teeny tag for it!  Of course this little package will look WAY better when filled with treats and chocolates.....can't wait!!!!

Wow!  Thank you so much for your overwhelming response to the coffee snuggies.  I just want to answer a few questions I've had.  

1.  If I buy more than one cozy can they be in different fabric?  YES!  For sure, just indicate either in a follow up email or in the comment section on Pay Pal

2.  When will they ship?  MOST of yesterday's orders will ship on Wednesday.  HOWEVER, I have had to expedit some Spice Cake fabric as you guys are LOVING this one (can't blame you!)  So if you ordered Spice Cake it may not ship until Monday.

Snow Much Fun!

I'm not sure about where you are, but winter is here!  OK, that may be a bit of a stretch but we've been having some true fall days...cold and wet!   I think the shorts can officially be packed away and the coats are out!  Nathan is pretty sad about this as "he likes seeing his legs" (not sure what that's all about but that's what he told me this morning when he was getting dressed).

After making this card I thought I should have used the Mica Flakes and made our friendly snowman into a shaker card.  Next time:)

I am LOVING the Frostwood Lodge DSP....I really like the plaid sides....they just scream comfy and cozy to me!

Thankful.....

for so many things!  At the forefront might just be that's it's Friday!  It's been a LONG short week (if that makes ANY sense!) for Nathan!  Lots of "do I have to go to school tomorrow?"  "why do I have to go to school tomorrow?"  "when is the weekend?"  He truly is getting better about school but I think the three day weekend threw him off:)  

ANYHOW, you didn't come to hear me ramble on about my children...you want to see my MDS blog hop!  Today's challenge was to be Thanksgiving or thankfulness.  Because here in Canada, last weekend was Thanksgiving I thought I'd share some photos in pages from our Thanksgiving weekend....that counts right?  If not, that's all I've got for you today:)

For the love of FABRIC!

I have been having so much fun with my sewing machine lately (and I do have lots to share!)  I have Katie Doggart to thank.....she kept my interest peeked with sewing after sharing the cutest little project with me at my demonstrator event earlier this month!  (thank you Katie!)  Katie made me this super sweet treat holder/coaster (there's a much better name for it, but I can't remember!)  Anyhow, it's in none other than the most amazing fabric ever!

Included with this sweet mat, Katie made me three mini banana breads (one for my mom, Emma and I) and these all came in the cutest little sewn basket.  (Katie got the idea for this basket and pattern from Pink Penguin).

So, receiving these amazing treats inspired me to make a set of matching little coasters to have out on my table.   My project was SO simple....here goes:

• quilt batting - 4 x 4
• fabric - 5 x 5 (two of these)

Iron the fabric over the quilt batting.  Have your seams inside and pin.  Start sewing around the edge of the coaster, then stop the width of the foot from the sewn edge and continue sewing.  You are trying to just keep sewing around and around until you hit the middle of the square (fun!!!!)

I love quick and cute sewing projects and have more to share with you in the near future!!!  Can't wait!

Another Bat Box....Milk Carton die

Are you sick of my Halloween projects yet?!?!  Hope not!!!  I had fun making this.  I have seriously made a bat box out of just about every Big Shot die I own!  Crazy, I know!  The best part about this project is my friend Monica Davis has created the identical box to this!!!!  Monica I love how you added the black in the eyes, so I cased that for this one:)  So fun!!!

Here is the supply list I used on this package:

• Basic Black - 2 milk carton dies with the fourth side cut off of each die (NOT the one with the tab), 1/2 inch circle (2), middle size pennant die (run through the Big Shot with the Spider Web embossing folder)
• Whisper White - 3/4 inch circles(2), two triangles for the teeth
• other - glimmer brads, 1/4 pumpkin pie grosgrain ribbon, sticky strip

This box really is pretty simple to put together!  Have fun with it!  I can't wait to share my winter project using this same template...soon enough:)

Candy Corn Triangle Treat Box

It's Tuesday!  You know what that means!  My Digital Studio Downloads!  WHOO HOOO!!!!  CLICK HERE to check out this week's downloads.

In the meantime, a few of you have asked for quick easy to reproduce Halloween crafts!  I'll be honest, I'm only making a few of those Halloween boots but these would be SIMPLE to make a million of!  (seriously, a million!)  And surprisingly, these boxes hold more than you think.  I love them!

Here are the dimensions of this particular box:

• Basic Black - 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 and then on the diagonals (see video for details)
• Daffodial Delight - 1 5/8 x 4 3/4
• Pumpkin Pie - 1 5/8 x 3 1/2
• Whisper White - 1 5/8 x 2 1/4
• Basic Black marker, googlie eyes and white gel pen

it's the little things

Happy Thanksgiving Monday to you!  I got to sleep in this morning (yay for me!)  The only sad thing is that it's just after 9 and this is sleeping in:)

Yesterday we went on a fun family walk in Dorchester so you'll be seeing lots of photos scrapbooked but these ones really made me laugh!  (by the way, thanks to those that commented on Facebook...who knew posting photos would be so easy:)

Tres Chic Witch Boot

I am having so much fun with this template...I love this little boot!!!  This boot is similar to the boot I made the other day but stepped up a little bit (the added flower, the pearls....yummy!)  

Here is the supply list for this creation(all supplies are Stampin' Up!)  I have not included the supplies for the flowers as they were yesterday's post:

• Stocking Die (for the Big Shot) - makes the boot bottom and topper (need 2 in Basic Black)
• embossing folder...any of the "pretty" patterns work great
• 3 1/2 inch circle (I use the 3 1/2 inch Big Shot die) - two of these in Basic Black
• 1 3/4 inch circle punch - punched out of the 3 1/2 inch circle for the toe of the boot
• Big Shot Machine
• Ribbon - 1 1/4 inch strips
• Pearls
• Frightful Sights DSP - 1 x 5 1/2 inch strips then edged with a scallop punch
• box in the middle of the two boots - I used 3 x 8 1/2 sored at 1/2 and 2 1/2 then 4 and 4 1/2 in the other direction

If you want your boot to be a bigger box, simply increase the width of the box (mine is 1/2 an inch.)  If you want the box to be say 1 inch wide, you'd need a piece of cardstock 4 x 9 and score at 1 and 3 and 4 and 5 in the other direction.  I hope you like this creation and the video helps!  Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Spooktacular Flower

Happy Saturday to you!  Today is a football day ALL DAY for the boys (not Cole).  So Emma, Cole and I are going to have some fun of our own...can't wait!  Sometimes it's nice to have that time with just a couple of the kids and that's what I'm planning on for today!  So, the other day when I shared a Halloween box with you, I had a number of you ask me how to make the flower....so I shot a video!  Then the next day when I shared my witches boot, the same request came up!  SO, I have put the two projects together and will share with you today how to make the flower (so go make a million!) and tomorrow the boot (so you too can put them together for one FUN and FAB project!)

Today's post is quick because the only supplies you really need to make this little gem are some die cut or punched flowers and either a scalloped or plain circle for the little rosette!  The video shows how I put the pieces together but most importantly how to make the rosette from start to finish!

MDS Blog Hop!

It's FRIDAY!!!  Thank goodness!!!  AND it's the Friday before a LOOOOONNNNNGGGG weekend!  YAY!  Can't wait!  It's Thanksgiving here in Canada this weekend and it's looking like some beautiful weather (for football!)  Mark has football Saturday and Monday BUT we have a whole lot of nothing for Sunday!  I'm thinking we may do a hike and then family PJ day and night!  Doesn't that sound like fun!?!?!   Emma seemed excited, so we'll take it and run with it!

OK, enough of my babbling on.....I have shot a video on the boot for you!  I will have videos for you for the next four days (not today though...evil, I know!)    YIPPEEE!!!  It was funny, I shot the videos yesterday while my mom was over painting Emma's room (Emma and my mom made some sort of a deal...I need to figure out how to get me that same deal:)  and I'm sure my mom thinks I'm nuts and talk to myself!

Today's MDS blog hop challenge was to create something for Halloween NOT a scrapbook page!  Easy Peasy for the Halloween lover that I am!!!  I think this should be EVERY Friday's challenge:)  Anyhow, I decided my fireplace needed a banner so what better way to make one than with MDS?!?!

I used the Pennant banner punch and filled it with the Pick Your Poison DSP.  I used the embellisments from Pick Your Poison as well as the stamps.  There are few other stamps/embellishments but they come predominantly from the Pick Your Poison.  Some of the images or embellishments did go outside the lines of the pennant, but I simply created a white rectangle and covered it all up before printing...tricky!

I think had the banner printed at a local print shop (my printer has horrible colour and it only cost me 29 cents a page!)  After breaking the bank, I cut out the banner on the lines and mounted them on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I edged the cardstock with the charcoal distressing pad, stitched on the ribbon to hold the banner and VOILA a hybrid Halloween banner!!!

Stamping, MDS and some family fun!

Well, let me start off by saying WOW WOW WOW!!!!  I think I had the best class in a long time last night!  Don't get me wrong, I love what I do and enjoy my stamping nights, but last night's class was SUPER fun!  The company was amazing, the projects were fun and I went to bed with a smile on my face!  Thank you Bird, Mer, Sundee, Dale, Mom and Sonia for such a fun night!!!!!

Now, onto my multiple projects here!  The VERY first set of out of the new catalogue that Emma just "had" to get was the moustache stamp set (yes, that one that you've all overlooked....at the front of the catalogue in the a la carte section....you know the one, right?)  Emma has made some fun projects with it and I thought it was time I dusted it off and used it!   So, challenge number 1...use this set.

Challenge number 2....make something fun for my kids as it's already been a bit of a long week.  When the kids get off the bus, we often all start heading in multiple directions between cheer, football, classes, dog walking and life but yesterday NO ONE had to be anywhere right away so I thought doing something easy and fun for all four kids would be a great way to start our evening.

SO, what I decided to do was stamp the moustache set on some Whisper White cardstock (in Staz On), cut them out, punch a small hole with the crop-o-dile in the moustache and stick it on a Tootsie Pop (I said easy!!!)  I unwrapped the candies, put them in a bowl, grabbed my camera and was ready for them to come home.  I had to laugh at their reactions and how excited they all were (except Cole, who ripped the moustache off RIGHT away and just got right into the sucker!)  

What did we learn from this?  It truly does take small things to amuse us.  The stamp set was not a waste of my money and we will get many more uses out of it!  My kids and I are going to stamp a million (ok, slight exaggeration) of these and laminate them so they don't get all soggy when on a sucker).  We'll make some with bigger holes for straws to go through as well and we'll make some with no holes as well!  I can't wait!  Can you believe that this $10 stamp set has created this much happiness.....and is including my non crafting son (Mark) to want to craft!!! SO EXCITED!

And then of course, I had to scrapbook the event in My Digital Studio!  I made the moustache out of the bird punch, and the rest of the DSP and elements are from the Big Top Birthday suite!

Another Halloween Treat:)

Thanks so much for all the kind words on my post yesterday!  I am excited to say that's one of the projects we are doing at my Halloween class tonight (which will be an awesome class....can't wait!)  Today's post is another one!  These little gems are floating around the internet and I'm not sure where the idea started from, but here's my take on it:)

I am super excited about this!  Doesn't this remind you of the boots from the Wicked Cool stamp set!!?!  I love the Razzleberry and Black combination.  This box fits either a gift card or some small treats!  SUPER FUN!

AND to top it off....remember the ribbon at the top of this package....it's on the clearance rack!!!  WHOO HOOO!!!!  I do love the clearance rack!  (I've stocked up on striped grosgrain ribbon, the black gems, treat bags and so much more!  Check it out...."retired" items for CHEAP!)

Sorry, back to the project!  This uses the stocking die to make a witches boot.  By embossing the boot, it does hide the seam between the boot and the toe, BUT I intentionally took the picture from this angle so you could see it (wasn't that nice of me:)

Halloween Treat Boxes for Grown Ups....

I LOVE creating Halloween treats (shocker, I know!)  Sometimes though I try and get away from the "cute" and make something for the "grown up" (or as I like to say, the unknown....)  For example, for Adam's secretaries, I would make these boxes filled with homemade cookies or some sort of homemade treat.

Aren't these boxes super duper cute!?!?  I love them!  The box is 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.5, so a decent size....fun, eh?  Each of the side black panels are 3 1/4 x 2 1/4 and then the DSP is 3 x 2.  The top pieces are 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 and 3 x 3.  I embossed the top Old Olive card stock with the spider web embossing folder and then used the Charcoal ink from the distressing kit on the web.

The flowers are made using the 5 petal hand punch (four of these) and then the medium sized flower from the Fun Flowers Big Shot die.  The middle of the flower is made with the scallop circle hand punch.  I cut it like you'd peel an apple core and then wound it around a pair of tweezers (thanks Sundee!)  I am really happy wiht my flower!

Then of course the ribbon was the 1 1/4 inch striped grosgrain and I cut it in half length wise to be a little "frayie" and more "Halloweenie" (yes, they are both words!).  The greeting is from Delightful Dozen (my current favourite word stamp set!)

I Dig You....

Happy Monday to you!!!  I hope that you had a fabulous weekend!  Our weekend was SUPER fun and SUPER busy!  I had a blast and want to thank each of you that I got to see this weekend and to spend time with!  Thank you!

Friday night we had a family party for my nephew, Cohen!  He turned three and we headed out to my sister-in-law's house for dinner and just a relaxing evening!  I was so excited to help make the birthday cake for Cohen as well.  He LOVES dump trucks so we decided to make a dump truck cake (and of course then I got to make a matching card!)  The front windshield was a little wonky, but hey, I only make four cakes a year, right???  

On Sunday, Nathan was invited to his buddy Griffin's fourth birthday!  This party was SUCH A BLAST!  It was fun watching a dozen kids ranging in ages from probably 3 to 8 or 9 playing hockey, lego and just being kids!  They were making their own fun and having a fun!  Knowing I had two parties for two "boy boys" this weekend, I made two of the same cards (and loved them...hope the boys did too:)

Now, the cards were a complete cased idea from Carrie Gaskin (Artistic Avenger).  She had a colour challenge a few weeks back and I LOVED her layout and the colours she was using SO I totally stole the idea (and am giving her complete credit!) swapped out the stamp set (Carrie used Button Buddies) and voila!  I am so happy with it!  Here is the recipe(ish) for the card:

• Old Olive - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, 5 1/4 x 1 1/4, 5 1/4 x 1
• Poppy Parade - Two Tags Die (the tag is cut and shortened to fit on a card front)

I do have a quick post for you today.  I watched The Hobbit (thanks Sundee!) last night with my kids and did a little MDSing.  Here's the page I came up with.  Cole LOVES his "dee dee" (he's actually pointing to the screen right now on my computer saying dee dee....dee dee).  It stays in his crib but when he heads up to bed he is just SO happy!  And of course there isn't just one, there are like 5!  My favourite thing is when Cole is tired he has usually one in his mouth, and one in each hand.  While he's falling asleep he rubs the two in his hands over his eye lids....not sure why but it calms him and next thing you know he's sound asleep and happy!  These are the memories I don't want to forget:)

Spooky Bingo Bits

It's the weekend!!!  YAY!!!!  I am so excited to be spending the day today with Emma, my mom and a "whole whack" of fantastic Stampin' Up! demonstrators!  I LOVE hosting big events and can't wait to enjoy my time with each and everyone of these amazing women!!!  I'll take pictures (hopefully) and share them with you soon:)

I had fun using a little bit of EVERYTHING on this gem of a card the other day!  Not sure that it all "goes" but I think anything truly goes for Halloween!
