Well, I hope you stopped by today for a little bit of exercise! Guess why.....
YOU HAVE THE ARTISAN BLOG HOP OPTION TODAY...Check out the 10 projects of the day from all the wonderfully talented Artisan winners.....AND
STARTING TODAY EVERY FRIDAY A GROUP OF US ARE DOING AN MDS BLOG HOP! Can't wait to share with you!
The way our MDS blog hop will work, is one of us will present a little challenge each week to the team and we have to create our projects accordingly. So sweet Erica Shaw has really been the "founder" of this hop and set out our first challenge....back to school! Well, thankfully here in Ontario (Canada) we are only just done half of our summer holidays so this challenge was perfect for me...plan ahead! For those of you that don't know me, that's something I don't do very often:) So Erica, thank you for this wonderful idea!
I decided to create a hybrid project for this week. For the longest time I didn't know what a hybrid project was (even though I was creating them!) Hybrid simply means taking the 2D digital creations and making it 3D (or as Emma says, turning it into a REAL project:) These cards and tags were created in MDS, then printed and then I added the "real" to the cards by using "real" brads and for the tags I used "real" ribbon to embellish them! Fun, hey!
Nathan starts school this fall (I'm SO sad...full day everyday!) but he has wonderful teachers (I can't wait!!!) He is so excited to go to school and wanted to make his teachers a card. So he helped me pick the elements to use on the card in MDS and has written a little message to his two teachers inside the card for the first day! How cute is he!?!?
Here is a list of the elements from MDS I used for this card:
- Hodgepodge hardware
- Anchored stamp brush set (hello)
- School Colours stamp brush set (crayons)
- A is for Apple stamp brush (ruler, background lines)
The little tags are my favourite:) Nathan was pretty excited about these! We are going to tuck one in a pocket of his "new" backpack so he knows for sure which bag is his and then one on his lunch bag! Can't wait! I'm also going to write his bus number and siblings name on the one tag in case Nathan is unsure one day and freezes up (ie. doesn't talk!) and isn't sure where to go or what to do...I know, I'm a paranoid mom...but we're allowed!
I really hope you enjoyed the first of hopefully many blog hops and I can't wait to do it again next Friday!!!
To continue enjoying the blog hop, select another name on the list down below! Have fun!!!! Take care,

I love this! What a cute idea! Thanks for sharing the video! I have a 2.5 yr. old grandson who will be going to day care. The tags would be great for his "stuff". TFS!

Such a cute project. Would you give more details on printing outside your house? Do you put on a flash drive or email to Staples/Drugstore? could you also talk about the process of getting printed items from SU?
