It's Friday! Are you excited? I love Fridays!!! Thank you for those of you that are stopping by from Summer's blog! Has her work not been out of this world! I loved all of her projects, but I think her Kimono Kids card was my favourite! The attention to detail and tiny little pieces blew me away! Thanks for sharing your talents with us, Summer!
Today's project was probably my favourite yet I have the worst photos of it! I was so excited to be DONE this project as it took a while, that I completely forgot to take a picture of it before I shipped it off! I was devastated when I realized that as I may not have ever seen it again! I'm okay with handing over the projects and not getting them back from SU, but I was a little sad with not having a photo! So if you happen to have a better picture of this project, I'd love to see it:) Thank you so much!!!
Alrighty, enough of my sob story....here are the details! The owls were created in MDS and filled with DSP in MDS. I then printed the owls on iron on transfer (actually my great friend Christine helped out in this department...thanks Chris!) and then I used a professional company to iron on the images onto the vanilla fabric. The eyes are all made out of buttons. I used a few different dies to embellish the quilt. I had stitched around each of the owls, the embellishments and then on the fabric squares I hand stitched the big flower die (that is now retired). The edge of the quilt is our wide striped grosgrain ribbon pleated and stitched on:) I am excited to create another quilt with the new fabric coming out in the holiday mini. I found quilting to be quite relaxing and I love the final look!
Thank you so much for your kind comments and emails this week as you've participated in our Artisan Blog Hop! I'm hoping the group of us will do something again soon:) As I'm sure you've seen, the nine other demonstrators are ridiculously talented and their work blew me away! Thank you ladies for sharing with all of us and for loving what you do!
Have a wonderful weekend! I'll be back tomorrow with a video post for you:) Take care,

Heather, this was my absolute favorite AA this year! I actually have come home and have been enlisting those who actually sew to eventually make me one if I ever have kids.
It was great seeing you this year! It was also great to meet Sundee on the plane out. You are such a personable group of people.

Heather, this was the best of all the AA projects this year! It caught my eye immediately when I saw the pictures online and since it wasn't up on the board, I didn't know who had made it. I think you did a terrific job. My favorite detail is the ruffled border, which looks just awesome!
Congrats again on your win! :)

Heather, everything you sent in to the AA was amazing but this quilt was over-the-top. Oh my goodness, I didn't know how you did this until just now. It is so beautiful. I come from a long line of quilters, but have never made one myself. Now I think I will need to give your MDS approach a try.

Love it! I had seen the photo of you holdin the quilt on someone's blog and have been waiting for you to share. This has to be my favourite project of all. I will email you a link to a photo I saw while blog hopping one day.

Heather, I did see a good photo of your quilt but can't remember exactly where - probably on Stampin' Connection. Maybe if you appeal to the masses there, you will get lots to choose from.
I love all your projects but especially the quilt, the dress card and the baby card - all of which needed more time than I have ever put into a card!
Congratulations on the Artisan Award - it was well deserved.

Wow this project is fabulous! It definitely makes me want to learn how to sew so I can do something like this. Amazing!

This is truly AMAZING!!!!! I have enjoyed so much this blog hop. You all did a fantatic job!!! For the quilt, this idea just blew me away. Iron, on transfers! That's brilliant! I'm already an MDS junkie (not a great sewer though) but I'm going to try this for sure! Maybe a tree skirt for Christmas with the new fabric!! Thanks for sharing all your projects, they've all been great! And congratulations again on winning!!

you should do a club on this. Do the individual steps and spread it out over a few months. I would definitely come for that!!

Beautiful. I certainly understand why it is hard to give this up. I enjoyed all of your artisan projects. It is very obvious why you won the award.
