Stamp with Heather

I am a bit of a tease....I know!

I'm not done my room BUT I am DONE MY TAXES!!!!  YAY!!!!  I paid the bill last night around midnight....that's like a whole 24 hours before it was due....lots of time!  Every year I say, I'll do them earlier, I'll be more diligent throughout the year and yes, it's April 29th!  That's okay though they are done!

So, needless to say my room isn't quite finished and I really want to show you all the great advice that I received from others that I am implementing in my room and some will take a little bit of time (like waiting for my Big Shot boxes to come from SU....I may skip waiting for these and video before that!)  

ANYHOW, I found this super cute tin bucket at Winners the other day...isn't it sweet!  It was about $12 and is huge!  I knew it would match my craft room (I'm going with Pear Pizzazz and Baja Breeze) so it was PERFECT!  I wasn't 100% sure what I was going to store in the bin, but once home I realized my magazines and inspiration books would be love a new comfy home....so voila!  Organized, out of the way and cute...who can ask for more!  AND, I've promised myself (I'll do my best) that when I get a new magazine...an old one should get passed along to a fellow crafter!  That only makes sense, right?  Encourage me here:)

So I haven't picked up a stamp in over a week (hence all the MDS pages!) BUT I will have some in the very near future as it's Adam's birthday today and also I've got my "to do list" and on there are cards!  SO, not to sorry I'll have some cards on here soon:)  In the meantime, here's a little MDS (I do this for a few minutes each night before bed...so relaxing....love it!)  This is my little Cole on Easter (check out the bow tie:)  He truly is a ham (and getting really loud!)

The "other" page

You guys sure have made my day!  It was so nice of you to comment on my blog post and email me personally about the May Scrapbooking ad for Stampin' Up!  I was asked a while back to design a few pages that they could use in their ad!  I had no idea until this morning which one they selected or how it would be used!  I am amazed at the number of people that recognized Emma as the little gem in the scrapbook page:)  She'll be thrilled when she gets home from school!

Stampin' Up! was very specific in terms of what products could be used (you'll see they correspond with the bundles they are offering....which are a SUPER WOW!!!!) and also the colour palette.  So once I had all the "elements" checked off my list for being used and checked out the corresponding embellishments with the colour palette given I was off:)  So, here is the second 5x5 page that I had created for them.  (I know, some of you are probably thinking....hey, she has four kids and only three were used!)  It had nothing to do with a "love more" or a "love less" just what photos I had to match:)

National Scrapbooking Month Starts Early!!!!

I'm so HAPPY!!!

Happy Thursday to you!  I have decided why my craft room is getting done so quickly....I'm avoiding the DREADED taxes!  I haven't done mine yet....hmmm, I have a few days, right?  UGH!  Anyhow....I thought I'd update you with a sneak peek!  I am LOVING my new ribbon storage!  I had a great ribbon rack (that my downline's husband made!).  It truly is a beautiful piece of furniture, but I go through ribbon so quickly with classes that it was a real pain to replace my ribbon on the dowels.  I knew I needed something quick and pretty.....so I'm using the photo shelves from IKEA for my ribbon!!!!  HOW FUN IS THIS!?!?!?  These sweet racks are only $15 and are about 3 1/2 feet long I think.  

What I find funny about these and having my ribbon organized is how many rolls I've double, tripled and even more.....ordered!  Apparently I LOVE Melon Mambo Polka Dotted Ribbon and Pretty In Pink Taffeta Ribbon!  My top shelf are the retired ribbons (and I sorted them by colour).  The other two racks are all current and I sorted them by type then colour....aren' they pretty???  I can't wait to just sit at my desk and stare at them!  Hey, for those of you that have been in my room before too, you'll notice the room is painted:)  Three of the walls are Baja Breeze!  I went to the paint store and they matched the colour to my card stock!  YAY!

My latest little "stumble" is a desktop.  I'm thinking an IKEA run might be in order, but maybe there are desktop options that are more local???  Any ideas?  You guys have been amazingly helpful and I have you to thank!!!!  Thank you so much!  Please feel free to read the comments over the last few days there are amazing ideas!

This is ONE of my MANY Easter pages I've done.  You can see my kids and the other three are my nieces and my nephew.  Without ANY planning everyone showed up in purple!  I love it!  So of course I had to take a million photos.  Cole wasn't in the "mood" for a photo shoot, but the others did a great job!  It's tough to see but Cole has a little bow tie on:)  SO adorable!  I'll have more pages and photos for you to see!  I This page was inspired by one in my Scrapbooks Etc. Magazine.  Hope you like it!

It's a quickie and an update!

OK, you guys have motivated me like crazy to get my craft room done!  One thing you need to know about me (if you didn't already) is I don't sit around too long and wait (in other words...I'm impatient....or I like to call it motivated!)  So, Adam gave me the "green light" on Saturday, I posed the questions, searched for answers, quick trip to IKEA on Monday, built and moved Monday/Tuesday, paint on Tuesday and I can say it's ALMOST DONE!!!  I can't wait to share with you....but I have to get a few finishing details first:)  I know, not very nice!  I'm still looking for a few ideas if you have any on paper storage!  I bought the JetMax cubes with the filing drawers from Michaels (40% off plus a 25% off your entire order....WOW!) BUT it only comes with four files and of course they don't sell them AND they are not a standard size:(  Any suggestions?  I LOVE my hanging files for paper but Adam says my milk crates don't look "pretty".  

Ok, onto why you really stopped by....some stamping!  This card came together SUPER fast.  I wanted to showcase the beautiful Strength and Hope stamp set in another combination (other than the five I shared a week or so ago:)  This one is River Rock and Very Vanilla paired with the NEW DSP that you can earn FREE!!!!  Would you like to learn how?  If so, fire me off an email and I'll let you know:)  Alrighty, I must head off to bed....it's 1:36 in the morning....the last wall will have to wait:)  Thanks for stopping by today!

Sew Sweet!

of you....to continue leaving me comments!  So the transformation has begun....remember, this is a minor and hopefully inexpensive revamping of my room!  I just need a little more open space and function and I think I'm achieving it!  Pictures will come soon....not to worry!  I have a few pieces but need a few more things...still stuck on storing a few key things, but I'll know when I see it, right?  Again, thank you for your kind words and comments, I've had fun following your links, checking out your blogs and getting LOTS of ideas!!!

On to today's card......I am going to miss this set!  I love this whole line of sewing products...they are just sew sweet!  My favourite part of this card is the greeting...check it out....a personalized stamp with my greeting of choice!  I knew I'd get a lot of use out of this set, so I decided to purchase a personalized stamp and create my own greeting.  How "fitting" for this line...heh? (okay, it's WAY too late for me:)  This card truly was a simple one, a little bit of paper piecing and some wow to the card, but the real WOW is the super amazing button (will be gone at the end of the week!) and the paper!

Springtime Vintage and THANK YOU!

WOWSERS!  I have to be honest, I'm late in posting today because of all of you!  I am so excited reading all your comments from yesterday about storage "stuff" and am super excited to get going on my craft room!  I will for sure share with you before and after pictures!  Can't wait!  I haven't made any "final" decisions, I keep looking at the links you've sent, I've compiled lists of your ideas and taken measurements of my room about a zillion times over:)  So THANK YOU!!!  I'll draw for blog candy later this week, so please feel free to continue sharing your ideas (as others will also learn from it!!!)

This is a sad week in the Stampin' Up! world (not really, but I am a little sad:)  It's the end of April which means the spring mini comes to a close on Saturday!  Now of course the good news is the summer mini kicks in on Sunday BUT there are certainly some products I will miss from the Spring Mini.  This card is full of them!  I absolutely LOVE the little flowers that are in the middle of my flower on the card.  I didn't think I'd like them, I ordered them in April and NOW I LOVE THEM and they are leaving:(  The flowers are cut from the Big Shot die in the mini and of course the beautiful Springtime Vintage paper is a must have!  I love this, it is so pretty and delicate.

This card came together super fast....it's using the square lattice embossing folder, the 1 1/4 inch square punch and scraps of paper!  Give it a shot, it's super fun!

Help! and blog candy!

I hope you are having a wonderful Easter weekend!  Today is fairly low key and Cole is having a WONDERFUL nap so I'm taking some time to "revamp" my craft room.  Adam has actually asked me if I'd like something done with my room (gasp!)  A few years back we were given a bunch of dresser units that have done a wonderful job for me.  However, with the weight of the stamps and punches some of my drawers are a little bit "sticky".  SO, Adam suggested I redo my room!!!  How fun is that?  Now the shocker is I've agreed BUT I want to do it on a budget.  He has offered cupboards and a counter, but I'm the only one (with my kids) that crafts in this room.  So, I've decided to keep my costs down and look into storage options!

So, that's where you come into play!  I've got some questions and some blog candy!  ANYONE (demonstrator, new stamper, old stamper....anyone with ideas!) can respond to these questions.  If you respond (even more than once!) you'll be entered to win some blog candy that will be a clear stamp set (TBA) and five cards made by moi:)  Hope that entices you....or if you just feel like commenting, that's great too!!!

My Digital Studio ... are you getting sick of my pages yet?

Tough!  Kidding!  I actually have a ton of stamped projects to share with you but I haven't taken the photos yet.  It's on my "to do" list for today!  So I may just be back this afternoon with a stamped project for you too!

This is a actually part of a double page spread I made of my mom's birthday from 2009.  When we host her birthday we do a lot of stamped projects and decorations.  For this particular year, we used the Beautiful Butterflies Die and everything was to this theme.  We even made cookies with the butterflies on them:)  Super fun!

So of course I had to tie my scrapbook page into the colours and theme....how easy was that!?!?!  And this is what I ended up with!  I hope you like it!

I have had a few questions about fonts lately so I thought I'd address it now.  In looking at my pages I most often use a font for my titles opposed to an alphabet stamp set.  Now in saying that, I really do enjoy the Calendar Alphabet download for MDS as the letters are my "style" and are large so you can use them at the size they come or smaller.  Hope this helps!

My Digital Studio ... Sink Time and Nature Walk

Happy Good Friday to you!  We are off to a wonderfully lazy start to our day!  We had a late night of making cake pops with friends so this morning is starting off slow:)  

I've been MDSing (it is now an official verb!) my 2009 book.....my goal is to be done it by the end of the month so I can print it cheaper next month (remember, it's on sale....all the scrapbooking deals and sales will be revealed on May 1st:)

This is a page from the cottage.  I'll be sad the day I no longer have any children that take their bath in the kitchen sink (can't even think that far ahead!)  I have photos of Emma and Mark in the same sink and really think I should do a page of all four kids in the sink at the same age....that'd be cute, don't you think?

This page uses the Vintage Overlays in Very Vanilla.  I used Soft Suede on the top half and Early Espresso on the bottom.  The page actually came together quite quickly, I think picking my font took the longest time:)

Today's card is a sad one....this set retires in about a week!  I love the set Nature's Walk and the matching DSP.  I didn't use it until recently and now......it'll be gone:)  This was a simple easel card with some collage stamping.

Fox and Friends and a little more My Digital Studio

Happy Thursday to you!  I hope you have been having a great week!  I am excited....no more lunches this week and a four day weekend!  Can it get any better than that?

This super sweet card was made by my friend Sonia for Nathan's birthday.  I just LOVE this little monkey!  Sonia cut out all the heads and popped them up...isn't it adorable?  I love that the card is a different dimension than the standard....I need to do this more often!  Thanks Sonia!

And today's MDS page came together super quick!  I am still plugging away at my 2009 book.  I really want to get this done by May so I can take total advantage of the SU scrapbooking deals in the month of May (30% off MDS books..... WHOO HOOO!!!!)

This page uses two of the downloads from this week - Urban Garden DSP and the Rooftop Embellishments.  This page literally took minutes to put together and I'm thrilled with the outcome!

My Digital Studio .... Water Baby and a Message for Mom

Happy Wednesday to you!  YAY, only one more lunch to pack this week!  Today is a fun and busy day around here AND to make it even better, it's my sister-in-law's birthday!  Happy Birthday Sandra!  Hope you have a great day!!!

Today's MDS page was super quick and fun to make.  I started with an oval punch and made it REALLY big....larger than the 12 x 12 page.  Then I filled it with a photo and reduced the size of the photo (to the one on the left).  I then copied the oval and pasted in place.  I added the second photo, reduced the size and perfected the location to be beside the first photo.  I repeated this process with the third photo as well.  After all the photos were in the oval, they had their normal "straight" tops.  So I made another oval slightly larger than my first filled it in white and used it to create the fun "swoosh" on the top of the pictures!  Fun hey!?!?!  The blue and white swirls are from the stamp set Notes & Details.  Hope you like it!

Today's card is one that Emma made 99% on her own (I had 100% here and she kindly corrected me to say that I cut the one edge of her coloured layer card stock for her:) Emma made this card for my mom, "just because".  Didn't she do an amazing job?!?!  Emma stamped the flower image from the stamp set Messages for Mom on watercolour paper.  She then coloured the flower with markers and an aqua painter.  Didn't she do a great job?

Strength and Hope ... Day 5

Strength - one that supports others.  Again, this is a quality that a lot of women in this "trade" could be defined as.  I see strength as a someone that supports others, maintains a well balanced portfolio (not me!) and radiates goodness.  I know that sounds odd...but a sunny disposition can go a long way with me!  My last inspiration (although as I said before there are many out there!) comes from Heather Klump.  She is an amazing stamper that really does think outside the box.  Her cards range from "super complex won't ever case it but will drool over them" to "clean, simple and duplicatable"!  I love that about her blog as you never know what to expect. She is also a general paper crafter and has 3D items, scrapbook pages and cards on her site!

Today's card was inspired by THIS CARD.  I fell in love with this card on her blog back in January and have it saved in my "must make" file.  But sadly, I haven't made it yet:(  On the up side though I thought about this card when looking for my Strength and Hope inspiration!  I love how it turned out and thank you Heather for the inspiration!!!!  

Thank you for putting up with me for five days of the same colour combination....I promise tomorrow will be something totally different!  BUT in the meantime know that your investment in this wonderful stamp set CAN and WILL make a difference! (and remember, this set can be used for SO many purposes...Mother's Day, thank you, thinking of you or simply a blank greeting card filled with wonderful messages!)

My Digital Studio ... Too excited to not share!

Happy LATE night to you (or early morning....or really whenever you check out my blog:)  I am so stinkin excited to share this with you that I am doing this page at midnight (after my club....great night, thanks ladies!)  My friend Marjorie emailed me a link to a wonderful demonstrator's blog (Janet Wakeland!)  She is a Stampin' Up! legend as she has been a demonstrator for a very long time and from when we have spoken (and hiked together) makes a lot of sense and is a very generous soul!  SO, she has a great video on her blog if you don't understand my written instructions for you to check out (CLICK HERE).

In the meantime, I know, spill the beans!!!!  GUESS WHAT....you can change the colour of all our embellishments in MDS!  How nuts is that (and truly why didn't we figure this out sooner!)  Here's how:

• find your My Digital Studio folder on your computer (the folder where the "actual" program and all it's components are)
• after clicking on the MDS folder, select COMPONENTS
• select EMBELLISHMENTS
• highlight the folder you'd like to be able to manipulate (ex. staples and stitching)
• COPY this folder (DO NOT CUT!)  You can copy this folder by right clicking on your mouse OR use the edit function at the top of the screen
• go back to the COMPONENTS folder and select STAMPS
• paste the folder into the stamp folder and voila.....you now have embellishments you can change the colour of!!!!

A couple things worth noting is that if you alter the colour of an embellishment with a "shine" (ex. brads, hodgepodge hardware) you lose the shine of the metal when you change the colour.  I have to say I was most exited about changing the colour of our stitching!!!  WHOO HOOO!!!

If you click on this page of Mark, you'll see that my hodgepodge hardware not only is a colour BUT I could colour change to match Mark's shorts!!!  AND check out my stitching.....it's GREEN!  How fun is that!?!?!  I am SO EXCITED!!!!  I hope you are too!!!

Strength and Hope ... Day 4

Determination - dedication and drive to reach one's goal.  One of my favourite blogs to visit is Teneale Williams.  I'll be honest and bratty by saying I check daily although I know she doesn't post daily...and nor should she!  Her creations I'm sure take her HOURS upon HOURS to create and share!  The insides of her cards are often equally as magnificent as the outside of her cards and I'm sure each wonderful creation weights in at about 10 pounds a piece!  

Teneale is a very dedicated Stampin' Up! demonstrator that loves to share.  I'm sure there are times she'd love to stamp an image and a greeting on a sheet of Whisper White card stock and call it a day....but she doesn't!  She always shares magnificent pieces of artwork and for that I thank you!  Teneale, you inspire me to go outside my comfort zone, try new things and express myself in the art of stamping!  Thank you!

Today's card is inspired by THIS CARD, that uses the same stamp set, Strength and Hope.  I was very tempted to case it EXACTLY as shown, but decided I should keep with my colour theme (but case everything else!)  I hope you like it....I know you'll have fun making it....to all of you that are signed up for this class!

I have more great news to share!  Emma and a few friends are exited to do some stamping and are going to make some of the cards you have seen on my blog with the Strength and Hope Stamp Set and then donate them to our local Cancer Centre.  Did you know that hospitals will take card donations for their patients?  Ours has a basket on the counter of the reception desk for patients to use at their leisure.  They are often in need of thank you cards as the patients are wanting to thank all the volunteers that make their journey a little easier.  So, in light of this, we're going to try and get 25 cards done this coming weekend to donate to the hospital:)  I'm excited about this!

Strength and Hope ... Day 3

Love - to have passion and affection that radiants in all you do.  Wow...that's intense, but true!!!  There are many bloggers out there (that I stalk when time permits) that would certainly qualify for this characteristic!  Most Stampin' Up! demonstrators truly love what they do and share what they love!  It's in us all!

Today's inspiration however, comes from Chat Wszelaki over at Me, My Stamps and I.  I have quietly stalked her blog for sometime now and truly have been nervous to make a connection with her!  Her work is outstanding!  Chat's style and flair is unique yet breathtaking!  I love to check out her blog and drool as often as I can:)  

The card that inspired me today (click HERE) blew me away!  I'm not sure if it was the colours, the stamp set (Bliss...from Sale-a-bration....miss it already!), the layout or all of the above!  When I saw this card I was totally inspired to recreate it in my colour combination and to use her layout and ideas!  I hope you like today's card and make sure you check out Chat's blog (grab a coffee first!) as her photos and creations are beautiful!

I still have a few spots left for this class if you are interested in attending!  One question that came about is how are the donations made....well, Stampin' Up! automatically will donate $2 from every stamp set sold and after my class I will calculate the amount we raised (all profits from the class!) and will announce it on my blog and make a donation at our local Cancer centre.

My Digital Studio ... Feeding Chippy

I've been having too much fun MDSing lately!  Emma is an AVID Harry Potter fan (most of Emma's friends are in LOVE with Justin Beiber, Emma is in LOVE with Harry Potter!)  So, we went out last night and bought the newest Harry Potter (that she and Adam watched on opening night in the theatres:) and we watched it together.  And of course while we watch a movie....I get to MDS!  We all end up happy this way!

This is the latest page that I have made.  I was inspired by a page I saw on the internet (and can't remember where....I'm so sorry!)  It was a pirate page and truly in the end doesn't look the same, but there is always a springboard of inspiration:)

The circle in the background has a mat in Early Espresso size 20.  Then I made little rectangle punches and filled them with Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Pear Pizazz and Marina Mist.  Some are plain colours, others are DSP....fun eh!  It did take me a while, but I think it was worth it!  I love all the flower embellishments and the fun colours!  I hope you like today's page!

Strength and Hope ... Day 2

Hope -to look forward to with desire and reasonable confidence.  My friend Monica Gale exemplifies this on her blog.  She is one positive and classy lady!  She recently suffered a huge loss yet continues to move forward with strength and hope.  I admire how Monica continually looks for the good and really is an uplifting spirit.  Although I'm sure she has rough days, she truly shows how one can keep your head up, be positive and inspire!  Thank you Monica for all you share....both creatively and personally.

Today's card for my Strength and Hope class was cased from a layout Monica did sometime ago using the stamp set Vintage Vogue.  I wanted to stick to my colour combination for this class but think that this set lends itself well to the layout that Monica created HERE.

My Digital Studio ... Those Eyes

Happy Friday Afternoon...I know, two posts in one day!  What is this craziness about!?!?  Actually I did this page last night of my little Cole and meant to post it but forgot....so here goes....two in one day!

It is actually a very simple page and I love it!  It uses the new Tickets and Tokens download that came available on Tuesday....love the colours...Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Early Expresso and Pumpkin Pie!  YUMMY!  The border and DSP on this page are some of the elements.

I made the owl using the owl punch and then layered a few of the scallop circles on top to make him my fluffy little owl.

When Stampin' Up! announced they were going to have a special fundraising effort for Breast Cancer I was pretty excited to see the stamp set they designed exclusively for this dreadful disease.  Of course it came out after we had planned our Strathroy fundraising event, but that's okay because this is completely different!  Stampin' Up! is donating $2 from EVERY stamp set they sell (clear, wood or digital) from May 1st to August 31st (and of course from all the sets demonstrators got to pre order).  I am super excited to offer a class on Thursday May 12 in honour of this great cause...afternoon (1 pm) or evening (7 pm)!  To top off Stampin' Up!'s donation, I will be donating all of my earnings from this class to our local Cancer Research centre as well!  The cost of this class is $30 and includes a package of the pearls and the clear stamp set Strength and Hope.  (if you would like wood please let me know)

When I watch commercials or speak with women who are breast cancer survivors there are automatically words that come to mind: strength, determination, courage, hope and love.  So I thought in designing my five cards for this class I would select fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators that inspire me on a regular basis and showcase some (or all of these) amazing qualities.

So my first inspiration came from Shalae Brown.  She is actually a Stampin' Up! employee and also a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  The quality that I think represents Shalae is courage.  I first met Shalae at Founders Circle in the fall in beautiful Utah.  She was so sweet and kind, but admitted to being a little bit shy.  In the past six months she has grown SO much!  At Leadership she said the blessing in front of hundreds of crazy women (something she said she wouldn't do!) and she has also started sharing her craftiness on the Stampin' Up! website by shooting videos!  All of these things she said were out of her comfort zone and not only is she doing this now, she is doing an amazing job!  So thank you Shalae for not only the inspiration for my colours on my projects for this class, but also for the first card!  I appreciate all that you do!

Nautical Expedition

Happy Thursday!!!!  I hope you are having a great week!  I can't believe it's Thursday already!  It's been a busy week of school projects (the dreaded task....sometimes!)  Emma and Mark have both been working really hard on their projects between all the extra curricular activities so it hasn't left for a lot of "fun" time (yet!)  Which also means I haven't had a lot of stamping time (whaaaa!)  Although if my boys nap this afternoon I may just have a little something to share with you:)

OK, I know, enough babbling!  Today's card came together super quick and really is just a tease:)  It uses the new Nautical stamp set in the upcoming mini catalogue.  And did you notice....I think my new favourite embellishment....baker's twine!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE this stuff and can't wait to share with you!!!

My Digital Studio Strikes Again!

Happy Wednesday to You!  It's middle of the week!  So excited!  I am also LOVING the fact that we have sunshine!  Nathan has been outside ALL day....I mean ALL day since the weekend!  After running errands yesterday I took Nathan and Cole to the park for a change in pace (you know....not strapped in their car seats doing errands!)  

I had this page idea in my mind for a few days and today's photos seemed to be the right match!  I love the simplicity and the colours on this!  I included a coordinating embellishment on each square just to add a little "pop".  The stamps are from the Nursery Alphabet Images set (LOVE LOVE LOVE this set!)  The colours on this page are Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive and Pacific Point.  

The stitching on the squares if from the Rock-a-Bye Baby scrappin kit (you all own it....it came with the program!)  Check it out under frames....so cute and I didn't even realize I had this!!!!  

Again, it's a simple page, but I think effective!  Hope you like it!

A few UPDATES....

I figured this was the easiest way to keep you updated:

1.  The share order (if you are participating in a ribbon, button or brad share) arrived last night.  I have half of it sorted and will work on getting the other half done today.  I'll email you once this is done.

2.  My Masking and Colouring class is cancelled on Wednesday.  I think I emailed most of you (but just in case I put it here!)  I'll be in touch to reschedule!  Thanks so much for your understanding with this and I look forward to the class again soon:)

My Digital Studio .... You're a Ham!

Did you think I forgot about this amazing program?  Did you wonder where my MDS has been?  Well, to be honest I've been working on a few big MDS projects and not anything I could share just yet, SO, you've been suffering (not really, I know!)  BUT I am a little behind in my scrapbooking for this year (still working on March....I know not that far behind but I like to be on top of my scrapbooking with MDS!)  OK, I know....stop babbling and get on with the page!

This one uses my FAVOURITE DSP (2011 Desktop Calendar!)  I also used the stamp from Notes and Details (the swirl), the Celebrations Pennant stamp and the swirl from the Notes Stamp Set (you know the one that was FREE with Sale-a-bration....please tell me you got the disk!!!)  The page truly came together quickly and I'm happy with the finished result of my little HAM!  Cole really is beginning to crack us up more and more!

The Never Ending Card

In this month's Stampin'  Success (the magazine that Stampin' Up! demonstrators receive each month in the mail) there was an article about the never ending card.  I didn't think too much about it, but then my downline Sundee and Kristy showed me this super cool card....duh, called the never ending card!  Then I realized it was a card that my other downline Teresa shared at Christmas....I know sometimes it takes me a while to grasp things!  ANYHOW after all these KNOCKS on the head I finally gave it a shot!

This card is so perfect for my brother.  I love giving him the "huh" cards that are mathematical and fun, so this will be his card!  This is the front of the card.

Then you open the two side panels (like cupboard doors) and it reveals this completely different panel....how fun is that?  I stamped the cupcakes and coloured them in with markers.  All of the DSP on this card are the Celebrations paper....love this paper!

To open the next "layer" of the card you open it in the middle and the top and bottom panels flip.....when they flip open they create a "plus" sign (that would be how Nathan described it!)  You'll notice the striped paper is showing (same as the previous layer) so when you're creating your card you want to keep this in mind.

And finally this is the "last" page of the card.  It really isn't the last page though as you then flip it open AGAIN and you're back to the beginning....and it never ends:)  Too fun!  What do you think?  Would it drive you nuts?  I can't wait to give it to my brother!!!!

Scalloped Envelope Scrapbook

Happy Sunday to you!  Thank you so much for those of you that were able to attend our fundraiser last night for Breast Cancer.  It was a fun event and I appreciate Monica and Jill hosting the fun evening.  If you're interested I do have some extra card kits left.  Just fire me off an email if you're interested.  

In the meantime, I wanted to share the scrapbook that we made at our event.  I saw this on Carrie's Blog (Artistic Avenger)  She has a very fun blog to check out!  I love that so many fellow stampers are so great at sharing their wonderful ideas, thank you Carrie and all the others that inspire on a daily basis!

This project is made using the scallop envelope die for the Big Shot.  Rather than folding up the die cut into the envelope shape, you simply keep the shape, wrap the flaps around the back and fold down the flap on the top.  What do you think?  

Then the inserts are ready for photos and journaling.  I had a lot of fun making these, and I hope you enjoy them as well!

Nature Walk

I'm a happy girl!  I got a bunch of things off my "to do" list yesterday which always makes one feel good!  Got some stuff shipped (which as you know I'm not very good at!), finished off all the small details for the fundraiser for tonight, had a great day with friends (thanks Sonia and Samson!), created one of the classes for my June demonstrator event (so stinkin cute!!!) and enjoyed listening to Emma and Kate create some fun music....I'll be sure to share the video in the next few days:)  They are hoping for 500 hits:)  How cute is that!

ANYHOW, I know you didn't stop by to hear me babble on about my days....you want stamping!  This card was a big hit the other night at my mystery night!  It was so much fun seeing how the ladies fell in love with the little bee!  (and of course how he matches the DSP).  This card is super simple, clean cut and quick to reproduce:

• More Mustard - 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
• Basic Black - 4 x 4
• Basic Grey - 3 7/8 x 3 7/8
• DSP - 3 3/4 x 3 3/4
• Very Vanilla - 2 1/2 inch circle

Bugs and Kisses

It's FRIDAY!!!!  WHOO HOO!!!  It's been a very long week and today will be a great day!  NO SCHOOL!  We are going to have a fun day...maybe a quick breakfast out (depending on when the kids FINALLY get up!), friends over, Easter decorating and just some fun down time!  I can't wait!

This is a stamp set that I had to dust off, but am I ever glad that I did!  This card took some time to make as I was a bit retentive with some of my bugs and the photo doesn't do it justice.  The dragonfly has shimmer paint on it's wings and I cut a second set out and popped them up so it looks like he's flying.  The grasshopper was coloured with markers then stamped so I could get the two tones on him.  I stamped him once on the Whisper White cardstock and once off, cut out the back and then attached him so he's poking through the "u".  

For the snail, I stamped it in Rose Red on the card.  Then I stamped it again in Pretty In Pink, cut it out and then popped up the different levels of the shell to different heights to make it look like it's popping out at you.

It's tough to see but there's a little ant in the "e".  The greeting was punched out of the greeting in the set and mounted on the flowers.  To create the grass, I simply masked off the rest of the card, sponged it in Certainly Celery and Old Olive and then splattered it with a bit of Wild Wasabi.  For the sky, I used the top of the cupcake punch, "dottoed" them to the card front (temporary adhesive) and the sponged around them in Bashful Blue and splattered the sky with Marina Mist.

Greeting Card Kids

This is a quick post as our morning is already off to a late start:)  (story of my life lately:)  We've been super productive around here and the kids have been amazingly helpful but that "to do" list is still long!

As many of you know I love to watercolour so a few weeks back I just needed some me time so I coloured this little sweetie.  I love this set to colour.  I know it's tough to see in the photos, but the lunch bag is actually cut out and made "puffy" and I cut pages out for the book and then cut out a new cover for it.  Silly, I know, but fun!

Demonstrator Event!!!!

I am super excited to be offering the following event!  If you are a demonstrator in the London, Ontario area and are looking for a fun and creative day with fellow demonstrators, this is the event for you!!!

I am super excited to announce my demonstrator only event that I am hosting on Saturday June 11th from 9 to 5 at King's College!

If you are looking to get some classes going, or get some creative ideas on how to use some of the new stamp sets (and products) from our upcoming Summer Mini then this is the event for you!!!!  This will be a full day of stamping and creating! I am SO excited to be sharing this and have included all the details below for you. 

Here are the details:

The cost of this event will include all of the consumable products needed to make all of the projects!  You will go home with the remaining supplies such as gems, buttons, twine etc.  The class themes are: manly(using the nautical theme from the upcoming mini), Touch of Kindness Card Set, Summer Fun and Bold Blossoms (showcasing the new punches!)

On top of these great classes there will also be workshop ideas (and make and takes) and a special MDS project!In mid May, I will email out a list of the supplies I will be using for the classes and photos  BUT IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO ORDER THESE SUPPLIES.  I will simply tell you the supplies I am using in case you are interested in offering these classes to your customers so you can have the stamps and paper on hand ready to offer the class!  For example, I will be teaching a "man" class that you may want to offer to your customers before Father's Day.  You are welcome to use my photos I will be emailing out in May to advertise the classes to your customers.  I want you to invest in YOUR business, so you can order all the stamps and supplies through your own orders.

Date: Saturday June 11

Time: 9 am to 4:30 pm

Cost: $65 BEFORE April 15th $70 after April 15th(I am limiting the number of spots so be sure to sign up early! - payment due by May 15th)  

What's Included?:  a minimum of 18 projects (4 classes), all consumables, instructions, a hot lunch, snacks, MDS Presentation and more!

Sweet Stitches

Well, I can honestly say a lot got accomplished yesterday...but my "to do" list is still rather long!  I love that the kids have a PD Day on Friday, but it means I want all my work done early this week!  Emma kindly helped bag for my fundraiser on Saturday so this saved lots of time (thanks Emma!!!)

Well, I finally did it!  (with some pushing...thanks Sonia!)  I made the quilted pattered card front on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  The card front was put in the square lattice dry embossing folder and then run through the Big Shot....isn't this fun!  I know, I know, it's been around but I finally gave it a shot (ha ha, get it....Big Shot:)

Then the flower is made with the Sweet Stitches fabric!  Isn't it sweet!!!  Thank you Sonia!!!  I love being pushed over the edge:)

Nature's Walk

Is it Monday already?  Seriously, where did the weekend go?  I am working hard on getting caught up here, (MDS will be posted this afternoon, emails are just about caught up!)  In the meantime....I've got a post for you!

Can you tell that I am loving the easel cards lately?  This one is done using Nature's Walk and the matching DSP.  I am really happy with the colours of this card and the final look.  I used Bravo Burgundy, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla.

Sweet Treat Cup Owl

Top of the morning to you!  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!  Ours has been low key but getting those "necessary" jobs done...you know Christmas lights off the house (yes, in April and sorting clothes....fun stuff!)  But tonight we have my downline dinner for Convention goers so this should be FUN FUN FUN!  I am already so excited although I don't want it to come too fast:)

In the meantime I thought I'd share my last sweet treat cup buddy.  I think this one (or the bee....) are my favourite.  The trick that I love about this one are you move the wings to get the treats out!  We made this little guy in green in Emma's class on Friday and the kids did a GREAT job!

I haven't forgotten about doing a video on the treat cup sliding doors:)  I'll do my best to get it done, although I have a few time lines that are quickly approaching in other areas.  But when time permits I'll get on it!

Celebrate!

Happy Saturday!  I hope the sun is shining where you are!!!  Maybe, just maybe, we've got some spring coming our way!  The snow is ALMOST gone:)

Isn't this card so super fun?  I made it at my friend Sonia's the other night and I fell in love!  Thank you Sonia!

We used the small star punch (retired) and popped up the stars using a variety of DSP.  The stamp is embossed in black embossing powder and it just POPS!

The ribbon is stitched....love how Sonia is a little "shabby" and is okay with not perfect stitching.  The look is AMAZING and i need to relax a little:)  The sheet music DSP then just adds that little bit of "glam" to the card!  I hope you like it!

It's a Moveable, Mystery Man Card

OK, I am having way too much fun prepping for my Mystery Night (Tuesday April 5th).  I don't normally sneak peek any of the cards but this one...or is it two....I mean one, is so FUN!!!  Thanks to Sonia for the inspiration for the outside of the card...so super fun!  

So how this works.....I have no idea!!!  But it's ONE card with TWO fronts and TWO insides and depending on how you fold it depends on what you see.  I'll try and get a video up, but in the meantime, I thought I'd tease you with some photos.  So if you're in the London area and would like to make some Mystery Moveable Man cards I'd love to have you!!!!

The front of this card uses none other than my favourite set Extreme Elements and FYI.  I just punched a variety of circles (and used a star brad from the clearance rack....hmmm....wonder if any of these will be in the mystery bags from SU????  See earlier post about these if you missed it!)  The inside of this part of the card also then uses the Extreme guitar done with a ton of collage stamping.

Now onto the "other" card that is really just this card...hmmmm....tricky and fun I know!!!  For this part of the card I used the Grunge Rock stamp set...another favourite as I am entering into the lovely tween years:) (well, not me personally, just the kids at home....I don't miss those days:)

And then the inside is a bit more of the same collage stamped.  I didn't want to use the same colours as I really want to confuse people with this card so I wanted the two cards to look different!
