Happy Tuesday to you! I am excited about tonight's class! I stayed up a little late planning (didn't LOVE all the charms I originally did so I switched a few up...can't wait to share!) ANYHOW, it's November 30th! Can you believe it!?!? Do you know what that means?
Ok, now that I have that out of my system, don't you love today's card! Well, guess who made it! MY MOM! It was Cole's first birthday card from Gramma Blue Beetle! I know, she's crazy talented! Thanks mom! The tutorial for this is on Splitcoaststampers. When you pull the ribbon on the left side, both sides pop out...it's magic:) Check it out!

for the holidays! I had a few minutes to do some playing this weekend so I built a few MDS pages for the upcoming season! Now you can't see that there are photo boxes on this layout BUT they are there in the gapping holes.
Well, I thought I'd share some exciting MDS news with you! My sister-in-law has never used her MDS program until this past Friday! She decided to make a book for her daughter and mother-in-laws trip to Holland and guess what!?!?! She's DONE!!! She's ready to send it off to SU to print! I'm so excited for her! Welcome to the MDS world, Sandra!
This first page uses the AMAZING kit, Christmas Cheer. I'd have to say this set and the Celebrations download have to be my favourite! There is just so much content and material to make for so many seasons and the colours are wonderful! The photos on this page will be in the Chocolate rectangle as well as the Very Vanilla circle. I will share the finished page once I have some photos to fill this!
This second page has a big photo under the word Lots and four of the spots on the BINGO card squares have photo boxes in them as well! I am excited to show you my finished pages in the next few weeks. This page as well uses the Christmas Cheer kit!
Now, I didn't just show you these today to tease you. I am showing them to you today so you can take a few minutes and get your pages ready for your holiday photos. I checked back to my pictures from last year and in the week surrounding Christmas I took 2136 photos!!! Yes, you read it right!!! How nutty is that? So you can imagine, I like to scrap my holiday photos so I need to be prepared:) (of the 2136 photos, I scrapped 163 of them:)

The other thank you goes to Jodie that made these super cute projects! Jodie kindly made me this card and beautiful ornament for my birthday. I am so lucky! Isn't it amazing!?!? some of you may know Jodie as "the cake lady". She was one of the Artisan winners last year for Stampin' Up! and she made about a million of these flowers on a paper cake...amazing!
Jodie is a very clean and crisp stamper. Everything is well lined up, perfectly spaced and has a million layers (ok, another exaggeration). But, as you can see beautiful pieces of art! Thanks Jodie!

It's Friday! How super is that? I am excited to see some of you tonight at my retired stamp sale...hope you can make it! I meant what I said...prices are drastically reduced:)
Today's project is another mom creation. I know it's a month late to share, but it's worth the wait! Isn't this ADORABLE? And to top it off, we ALL got one....Cole's was full of Cheerios! How sweet is that?
The package is made using the Fancy Favour Die and then the front is made with a Top Note Die. I love love love these! I made a version of this with Santa in my Mystery night this week that I'll share with you soon.
The nose on this was made using the tab punch then the smaller circle cut out the nostrils. The hair is the Top Note die and the large circle was punched out of the hair.
The front of the package is actually a "card". My mom cut part of the Fancy Favour box, made it into a card (and yes, the scallops line up). Then she embossed the card back with the spider web embossing folder.

Happy Thursday to you! First off, let me say Great Big Sea Rocks!!! It was such a great concert last night! The company was just as fabulous! I'll be sharing a page on the concert with you later!!!
In the meantime I thought I'd share with you one of my options for a Christmas card this year. I love to include a photo of my munchkins when I send out my cards, so rather than paying for photo finishing, then cutting and mounting them, I've decided to create a hybrid card. Hybrid you ask? Well, this means I'll have "real" components mixed with digital on my card. So I am going to print my cards with SU, cut the cover off (if you watch the video you'll get what I mean), mount it on Cherry Cobbler and add a glitter brad in the middle of snowflake for a little dimension and bling! What do you think? I am so excited about this option!!!
I made a video to show you how quickly your card can come together if you have My Digital Studio! If you don't have My Digital Studio, you have a few options. Happy Wednesday afternoon!!! Hope you're having a great day! I'm looking forward to my night...GREAT BIG SEA!!! YIPPEEE!!! I am going to their concert with a few friends and it'll be such a blast! To celebrate, I thought I'd share a card with you.
This one was made with the scallop circle Big Shot die. I folded the Pacific Point card stock in half and ran it through the Big Shot with the score line slightly below the scallop - this creates a straight edge.
Then I used the clear Big Shot Circle die to get the Whisper White layer. I then ran this through the Big Shot with the Polka Dot folder. The DSP is cut through the DSP as well and then I cut it in half.
The border strip is from the Celebrations adhesive pack. The penguin is the owl punch with a few modifications. It is mounted on a 1 3/4 inch circle and then on the bigger scallop circle. And voila....a fun birthday card!

I know it's a shocker! So many of you have been asking for videos and I will be getting back into them (when I get my new camera:) but in the meantime I thought I'd quench your thirst with a little MDS video! Some of you are doubters, so I wanted to show you how quickly you can put together a page. I was inspired by my wonderful friend Barb for this page as well as a layout in a magazine. I didn't create this page first, you see my bloppers and "hear" my mistakes. It was fun doing it this way and I have to say I didn't spend another 5 minutes filling in the pictures, adding the title or the little embellishments. I hope you like today's page AND video!

I am so excited about the new downloads today...I know you hear that every week but the $2.50 Rhinestones and Pearls will get some extreme usage!!! Yes, that's right $2.50 for BOTH!!! How crazy is that?
Today's page was a total case from Stacy Cohen in this month's Creating Keepsakes. I loved the border of brads she used around the bottom of the DSP so I figured I could use that same idea and use the gemstones! What do you think? Having great inspiration means creating a page in just minutes (I timed this one...took 17 minutes!)

I know so many of you out there are traditional scrapbookers and enjoy the digital layouts for ideas and inspiration, I totally respect that (and actually hope you use my layouts for that!) Others of you may be more like myself. I've said it before, I love the hands on scrapbooking BUT my life does not permit me the time to create in traditional methods for my children. Thank you so much for the post birthday wishes you guys did yesterday on my blog! I'm embarrassed to say that my birthday is actually at the end of October and that's how slow I've been to get things posted on my blog!!! Better late than never, right?
Do you ever make a card that you just love!?! This is one of them for me. I absolutely LOVE the simplicity of this card. The colours (Baja, Not Quite Navy and Kraft) are just so calming and in my opinion lovely! I hope you like them as much as I do!
Inside the little sweet treat cup holder I just used 5 mini little pom poms. Aren't they adorable? I just picked those up at Lens Mills (I think for 39 cents a package!)
The stamp set is Cute Little Christmas, the greeting is from Four Holidays and the Scallop Square is in the new Big Shot die in the mini catalogue! Everything is edged in Whisper White and VOILA! Hope you like it!

My mom is thankful for all your kind words! I do have to say though....she won't be having a blog anytime soon! My mom spends HOURS and HOURS making a card, so to have a blog she says she MIGHT have a post a week. So instead I'll just showcase off her amazing work! Hope you're okay with that!
So, today it's my birthday card she made me. When my mom makes my birthday card she always asks for a colour combination and a stamp set. So I requested Cherry Cobbler, Peach Parfait and Cajun Craze. Now a lot of my girls thought this was horrible and mean of me to do this to my mom...but look at how amazing the colours look!
The stamp set I requested her to use was sock monkey. I love this set and rarely use it. So, my mom does the colour combo, the stamp set AND makes a fun folding card and a monkey that moves! The joys of My Digital Studio...snap a few photos, download them on the computer and create a page! Voila! Now, I just need to make sure I stay on top of printing pages and books! Actually, I just got my 12x12 January to June Scrapbook and I am a VERY happy mom!!! The books are amazing! Love it!!!
OK, back on track....I don't stay focused very well:) I used the Christmas (I know, Christmas) kit Christmas Cheer! Isn't it great! If I hadn't said it was Christmas would you have known?
The border strips are all from that kit, the 9s are different fonts and the pennants are from the Pennant stamp set. I used a few buttons and voila! I have a page! What do you think? Is it too Christmasy?

I can't believe it, Mark is 9 today!!! How exciting! He is such a joy and for those of you that come around the house and spend time with my family you know he's the "quiet" one (until you get to know him:) You wouldn't know that right now though...he is pretty excited!!! He's so excited to spend the afternoon with a few close friends and his mom (okay that last part is mandatory and I'm probably more excited than he is:)
For those of you that know my mom, you know she is an amazing stamper. I am so lucky to not only have my mom spend time with me stamping, but she is also an important member of my downline team! I am so thankful for Stampin' Up! and for the time we have spent together creating and sharing our passion. OK, enough of the mushy, on with the CRAZY crafting!
This card is not only Star Wars amazing and cool and WOW, but it also moves. Yoda and Darth Vadar are on a slider and can actually "battle" with their super fun light sabres with one another! How cool is that!?!? My mom made Darth Vadar and Yoda with punches and then these two are "fighting" on a Tie Fighter. Mark just about lost his mind when he saw this card! Is is not the coolest thing EVER!?!?!
The end of the Tie Fighter has DSP on it that just so happens to go with the whole theme! I am BLOWN away by this "card" creation for Mark! Thank you Mom!!! That's from ALL of us! It's amazing and inspiring!!! I'll be sharing a few more mom creations this week so make sure to stop by:)

So today's project is a QUICK one and it is matching my wreath and candle. You know you'll be seeing more home decor over the next few weeks as I create, but this is it for now:)
This is the chunky frame from the Christmas bundles. Isn't it beautiful? Now I did cheat and use temporary adhesive on the back of the DSP so in the spring I can change up the frame. What do you think?

I am starting to get in the season! I love that this year's theme for me will be the Deck the Halls colours, paper, and fabric! I can't wait to continue creating projects for my home with these amazing products!
Today's project seriously took me about 3 minutes to make. There is no sewing! Everything is done with adhesive. I ran two strips of sticky strip around the outside of the candle jar and then ran the fabric around the jar. I had about 3 inches of over hanging fabric so I ran a line of tape on the end and then folded the end back. I then took a little tape and secured the end of the fabric onto the jar. I then fed linen thread through the buttons and attached them with a glue dot or two....and voila, we have a finished project! How stinking quick and cute is that? Now I can't take credit for this one. My fabulous downline (and friend) Andrea came up with this one and shared it our downline meeting.
The sharing that goes on with my team at my meetings and in our downline blog is amazing! Again, I'm so lucky to be surrounded by these wonderful women! If you'd like to join my team, it's not too late! The AMAZING deal is on sale until November 30th if you decide you'd like to give it a try!

I know like many of you I "craft" a lot. Now when I stamp or create 3D items or scrapbook pages, I don't always feel like I'm crafting. I feel like I'm creating.....but for some reason while making this wreath I felt like a kid crafting again. I had glue all over the place, a mess on the floor, a friend to craft with and lots of different textiles and textures. It was such a fun craft! Thank you Tracey for the amazing idea!
Not only was it fun, but it was also inexpensive! My amazing neighbour had an old boogie board that had broken so we cut out the wreath form from the boogie board (cost: FREE!). Then the majority of the wreath was made with burlap (cost: $2....$2 a yard at Lens Mills!). The burlap was cut into 4x4 squares. Then I simply folded them in half in both directions (so it made a square 1/4 the size of the original square). I then took a screw driver and shoved it into the wreath with some glue on the back. And I just repeated this about a million times over (ok, slight exaggeration).
Then the little decorative pieces are simply circles cut out of the Deck the Halls Fabric with the Big Shot. I cut three circles out, layered them and then put them together with a Deck the Halls buttons. Aren't they sweet!?!? I just used a hot glue gun to put these together.
I hope you like this little creation! I'll have some more festive home decor to share with you over the next few days!

So today I thought I'd share another reason why I love MDS. This first page is another option I created for our Halloween pictures this year. I will often create a few pages for an event that is important to me. Then I'll pick which colours or layout I prefer and print only one in a book. This was my first attempt at my family Halloween page. I love the layout, and the colours, but I don't feel that the page is a good reflection on our costumes and our day. So I decided I'd use this layout and create a different page.
This is the huge advantage to MDS....changing up the page and creating this second page took me just shy of seven minutes!!!! Can you believe it!?!? SEVEN minutes for a whole new page! Don't you love this option?!? In MDS, I simply said "INSERT, then INSERT DUPLICATE PAGE". After getting a copy of the first page, I altered the background paper and the paper in the circle. Then I added a few different stamps, title and embellishments and I'm done! Isn't that great!!!!

Good Morning! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! Ours has been action packed and great fun! Mark had his final football game of the season yesterday and they WON! I know it's not about that but they went 0 and 8 this year so to win the last game was super fun for the kids and they certainly are leaving the season on a high note! It was great seeing the kids play their best, full of energy and excitement. Mark wanted to make cupcakes for his team so we decided to try another take at fondant (I think Mark is hooked on it...pure sugar!) It was Mark's idea to put his teammates numbers on the cupcakes and I think he did a great job making these treats!
Yesterday afternoon, we had yet another football game. Adam's high school team made it to the TVDSB Junior Finals so we headed up to TD Waterhouse to watch that game. It was a very exciting football game and really was tense until about the last 15 seconds when Central made a great interception. They ended up winning 8 to 6! Such fun!
OK, so the reason you stopped by today...a crafty creation! I have two to share with you today. This first card is super simple to recreate with any combination of DSP and ribbon! I just think this little gingerbread man is adorable! It is in the stamp set that "goes" with the Milk Carton die....isn't it cute? The dimensions for this card are 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 for the card base. The card stock layer is 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 and the DSP is 4 x 3 (this way you get 12 out of one sheet of Designer Series Paper:) The ribbon is 5 inches long so it can just tuck under the sides. The scallop circle and the card stock layer are both popped up. This quick layout can be done with basically any stamp set!
I have been working on a bunch of MDS pages lately because I want to submit tot he MDS contest. Now I know it's a late reminder BUT the contest ends tomorrow so if you're interested in winning $500 in downloads, you need two pages and a card! 5 customers and 5 demonstrators will win! I am so excited (although I still have to finish off my card). SO let's hope time permits today to get this done! In the meantime, this is one page I made that I won't be using, although I really love it! Cole got this tub toy from Sonia for his birthday and IMMEDIATELY after opening, Emma got on her bathing suit and rounded up the boys for a bath! It was pretty cute watching her get this excited about a tub toy!

What a great start to our weekend! It was a PD Day yesterday, so Emma and Mark were home for the day! We had an AMAZING day with my friend, Linda. (Yet another amazing woman I have met through Stampin' Up!) Linda has an OBSESSION (a healthy one though) with horses and has the most beautiful horses I have ever seen. I'm not a horse person, but when I saw Esther's eyes I fell in love! Unfortunately, Emma did too! This could be trouble! She actually asked if she could just go to the barn with Linda and work....she offered to scoop poop, brush the horses and just be in the barn! (If you know Emma - she's a doll but hates work - so this is NOT like her!) We'll see where this leads us!
Today's creation is from my friend Teresa! Isn't it ADORABLE! I love love love it and can't wait to make a "version" of this adorable treat package! I hope you like it!!! Once I make one, I'll fill you in on some tips and tricks and a pattern:)
Now, some of you have been asking about videos. I will still be doing them but I have to be honest with you....I need a new tape for my camera and I just haven't gotten out to get one! Isn't that lame, I know, but doing errands with the two youngest isn't always fun so I just keep thinking I'll head out and do it sometime soon:) BUT once I have a tap I should do this in a video:)

You (and your family) are so creative!Love the customes. The "family meal deal" - exactly! The best costume I seen this year was a couple that was dressed up as "Bacon & Eggs". They run a food stand in Gilbrater Trade Centre and seeing that they specialize in breakfast, they dressed up as Bacon & Eggs. How appropiate is that!!

I enjoy the fact that my blog is predominantly about stamping and stamping related things. However, I think I'm fairly lucky in that I have a wonderful readership and that I can share things with you as well.
Yesterday I went on the most amazing field trip with Emma's class. I think it is honestly the best field trip I have ever been on. It was to the Tillsonburg aiport. For those of you that live in the London area, I'm sure you're thinking....really.....Tillsonburg airport? That's what I thought when the permission form came home.
The focus of the field trip was educational and linked to the Grade six science curriculum on flight. I learned a ton about flight and air pressure and we did some wonderful experiments. The kids enjoyed this immensely and it was a great learning day! We got to tour the facility, see the plans and experience the history of the Harvard aircraft (these are training planes from the World War II era).
Near the end of the day, the focus then switched from science to life. There were amazing presentations on and about our Veterans. One of the volunteers is the daughter of Charlie Fox, a Canadian War Hero, and the stories that she shared were very touching and real.

Happy Thursday afternoon! Well, for my American friends, thank you to those of you that let me know the post office was closed today! GRRR! The one day I could do the road trip. I'll keep you posted on the DVD situation here in the next few days.
Rather than just make a little announcement post, I thought I'd share another project with you today! These are from my good friend Annette. I love this DSP (it's now retired, but I'm sure all you crafty people out there can sub in other papers to get this desired effect.)
I do love the card, but these packages are over the TOP! Check out the adorable pouch on top! It's the Top Note die made into the little purse handle. I will be making a ton of these this holiday season...just think, it'll hold chapstick, candies, treats, notes and so much more! I think Emma will have fun making these too! I can't wait! Thanks for the idea Annette.
And the second package (how clever) is the build a brad case housing some yummy chocolates for me wrapped in the matching DSP. Truly this would be a quick process, but has a WOW effect!

You keep hearing me touch on My Digital Studio and I have to keep telling you I LOVE it! Here are a few reasons why I love MDS:
Some of you have asked if I'm starting to ONLY do MDS. My answer to that is NO WAY! I am using MDS as a tool in my business, but I am thoroughly enjoying it as well as a personal product. I have been traditional scrapbooking and I LOVE IT! I have decided to finish Emma and Mark's first year books using all my amazing SU supplies. I love this process, I love touching the ribbon and adding dimension. I think that I have room for both methods in my life and am excited to continue with the old and welcome the new!
Thank you to those of you that are joining me on this MDS journey! I am also appreciative to those of you that comment on the MDS and use a layout or an idea in your traditional method! Just know that there is SO MUCH MORE TO COME and I am excited to share it with you!

Let me begin my post by apologizing to all my US friends that participated in the MDS 2 online class. I sent the disks over the past week to find out that the postage I was told to put on the disks wasn't good enough. All of the disks got sent BACK to me, I can't reuse the postage and now I'm told I have to send them as small parcel because it isn't just "print" material! SO.....I am going to drive to the States on Thursday and visit a US post office and send them from the US for you! The advantage is you will probably get them sooner, but please don't be surprised when it's not my address on the package:) Thank you for your patience....can you see why doing DVDs is NOT my favourite thing to do:) Again, thanks for your support!
Today's project is my favourite little matchbox card, but this one I made a little longer and it holds a gift card. I LOVE LOVE LOVE our fabric from the holiday mini. You'll be seeing lots of projects with the fabric, so if you don't have it yet, you may want to:) I just used the circle Big Shot die, and cut out the three circles (the smallest three). I then pulled the treads around the outside edge to fray it a bit. Then to get it to look wavy, I simply pulled on the fabric about every 1/2 inch and it pulls the fibres so it adds some dimension. This is so quick and easy to make and adds some pop to your project! It's tough to see but check out the little safety pin (from Vintage Trinkets) with the tag dangling off...fun!

I used one of our FABULOUS templates! Isn't this page adorable? I KNOW! Okay, I didn't create it! When you purchase the Celebrations download it comes with a double page spread. I tweaked it a little to meet my needs for Cole's page, but not too much! Double click to add my photos and voila, Cole's first birthday page is done!

I love love love the Sweet and Sour DSP! It is just so fun and bright (and of course the Polka Dots push me over the edge!) I just love the texture (there are shinny pieces to each piece!) and the patterns. I really HOPE that this DSP becomes a download in MDS so I never have to say goodbye to it:)
Again, I'm using the Merry Crittermas stamp set here as I think it lends itself well to the Sweet and Sour DSP!
It's just a quick post this morning as we zip off to the post office (AGAIN...I swear I live there sometimes) and the dreaded groceries! (Anyone else not love grocery shopping?)

First off, let me say thanks for all the kind words to Cole on his birthday! He was so much fun on his birthday! He loves to dance so he was bobbing up and down as the family played Band Hero and when we sang Happy Birthday! What fun.... I was hoping to have an MDS page done to share with you from Cole's day but time didn't permit. SO, I've got a photo of the cake and Cole for you today (and a card...keep scrolling!) I'll post the MDS page when I get it done! I really wish I had taken a picture of my hands for the scrapbook page. Let me tell you, it was a little bit embarrassing walking around in public yesterday with BRIGHT red hands! It was actually pretty funny watching people's expressions when they caught a glimpse of "the glow".
Today's card is one that we made (and will be making) at my "Move It, Move It" class. I am really excited for this class! This is my "Magic Card". It's really quite cool....you place a bill or gift card in the middle of the card, close it and then when you open the card the bill is "stuck" between the ribbons. Then when you close and open the card again, the bill is now between the opposite ribbon (either the "x" or the parallel ribbons...) So super fun! I think the best part of this was watching everyone just sit and open and close the card to watch the magic happen! We'll be making a card similar to this in my Move It, Move It class on November 18th.
Good news.....the MDS2 disks were shipped this weekend! The last few are being shipped this morning. SO, if you are in Canada, I would hope you'll receive them before the week's end. If you are in the States, the post office says depending on where you are, it should arrive in 14 - 21 days. Here's hoping sooner for you! In the meantime, the online class will be left open until the end of the month! Thanks again for your patience!

Sorry I didn't get back yesterday, it turned out to be a busy day! I had a great day with Linda, Anne and Sandra (and more wonderful new friends) taking pictures. I'll share that experience and some photos with you soon!
Today will follow our typical weekend plans...busy and fun! Football, cheer and Cole's birthday dinner! The cake is almost done, Emma, Mark and I had fun creating! I also learned a few things on the way!

Where has the last year gone? I can't believe that I am making a post letting you know Cole is one...that isn't right? I can't tell you how quickly this past year has gone, but just how amazing it has been! Cole is an absolute gem and we are so lucky to have him as a welcome addition to our family. He hasn't been our easiest (OK, he was the WORST sleeper, WORST eater and most moody.....) BUT he I think the minute he figured out how to move and feed himself, his world changed. And now he's a happy, pleasant, funny little boy! Cole has more teeth than my other three combined at a year (he has 6 and the other three had a TOTAL of four teeth at a year)! Cole is walking quite confidently now and walks, no runs, everywhere! He loves to wave (by scrinching up his fingers) and he'll give a great high five.
I'm excited to maybe show you the cake I'm making for him. I decided that my family spends enough time watching those silly cake shows (cake boss, cake challenge, and SO many more) that I am going to try doing fondant icing on Cole's cake this year! Wish me luck! I made sponge cakes last night, cut them and have "dirty iced" them. So tonight, I'll get moving on the fondant for tomorrow's birthday dinner:) Wish me luck!!!
Well, if my day goes as planned I'll be back with a project later today! If life happens, I'll check back with you tomorrow (and I'll try and draw the name for my prize too:)

Happy Friday to you! Does today's card look familiar to you? It should! I used the layout for my Chocolate bar wrappers from last week and turned it into a card! I loved the wrappers so decided to make cards out of them. The final card measures 5 1/2 x 3 so I could still use a standard envelope to mail these.
Hate to keep it short (as you all know I love to "chat") but lots on the agenda today....prepping for Cole's FIRST birthday! Can you believe it! My baby is one tomorrow! Crazy!

My little wobble penguin was inspired by my super talented online friend(hope you're okay with me calling you a friend...love your work!) Teneale Williams. (If you haven't checked out her blog, you should...every card she makes is a work of art!) A few weeks ago when I was checking out her blog she had made an adorable penguin card using the Sweet and Sour DSP (my favourite!) As soon as I saw it I knew I could CASE her idea and apply the little "wobble" feature to the penguin and use it in my "Move it, move it" class! So, that's what I did!
The little penguin was created using the owl punch. How smart is this? I didn't come up with it, not sure who did...but ADORABLE! When you jiggle this card side to side our little chubster here shakes from side to side....FUN! When you jiggle him, his eyes jiggle too:)

I sure do! I am having so much fun with my Stampin' Up! business right now. Like any "job" we have good days and we have bad, but I am just so pumped and excited and so pleased to continue being a part of Stampin' Up! Wow, I shouldn't post as I'm drifting off to bed...I just did some major editing on the post I've already done from this morning:) Sorry about that!
Alright, grab a coffee and read on! I hope you don't mind a few long posts in one day! Let's start with the pumpkins. I have to say, I'm not a pumpkin carving kindof a girl. I know, I LOVE Halloween, I LOVE other people carving pumpkins but I'm not a big fan. I don't like the "gunky" insides, I don't like the mess and I don't like the smell! BUT I love the end results and am always so thrilled with what my family comes up with. So this year I decided I'd bake while they carved (tried to saturate the house with the sweet smells of baking and it worked!)
I have to say that Emma and Mark have come so far in their pumpkin carving. Mark created the Boba Fett (Star Wars guy) at the top using a template, but wow he did great! Emma created the multi toned Harry Potter pumpkin in the middle. Again, she used a pattern but I am amazed at the detail she was able to accomplish. Adam and Nathan created the Death Star at the bottom together! Thanks for making our porch look spooktacular!
Onto the costumes....I love to dress up as a theme, especially when it's a first Halloween for someone. For Mark's first Halloween, Emma and Mark dressed up as Little Bo Peep that lost her sheep. On Nathan's first Halloween we had two football players and a cheerleader. This year we decided to go out with a pizza theme. I was a little unsure of how our homemade creations would turn out but the five (well, really four...Nathan just kept colouring) of us worked really well together piecing together all the costumes.
Emma was the pizza deliver guy (named Ralphie), Mark was a slice of pepperoni pizza, Nathan was the can of Coke (check out the straw on his head...Adam's creation) and our little Cole was a bag of Dill Pickle Chips! While trick or treating a lot of people called us the Family Meal Deal. Loved this idea! I've actually altered this page a little (the WONDERFUL thing about digital!) by making the photos a little larger and the title a little smaller!

Where to begin? Well, I won't bore you with all the details all at once, so I'll just fill you in on Halloween! What a great day! On Saturday, we spent the morning as a family creating the costumes for Halloween. Mark was busy painting and cutting, Emma was designing and Adam and I were implementing. I know it sounds like a silly little process but it was just a great way to spend time together on a fun project (I should have taken pictures). The finished projects demonstrate great teamwork though!
