Morning Cup...

 Today's post is just a quick one for you.  It's a little nutty around here as we prepare for the dreaded....back to school!!!  I can't believe it, a week today the munchkins go back (and Adam too!)  I'm most sad I think for Nathan as he has LOVED having everyone around!

Anyhow...enough of that, I best get onto the card:)  This was a quick and simple card to create.  I stamped the Morning Cup images in Staz On and then coloured them in with my blender pen and ink pads.  It's a soft look, but I like it for this card.  

The card is created using Marina Mist and Bashful Blue.  Very soft colours together as well!  A little big of Saffron thrown in there and VOILA!  I hope you like today's card and I'll be back again tomorrow!

MDS Online Class!

 You guys are so sweet!  I have missed sharing videos with you but I should let you in on a little secret!  My blog posts this summer were pretty well all done and preprogrammed weeks in advance.  Because I didn't want blog posts hanging over me each day, I do this every summer.  And because so much is preposted, I don't have the matching videos!  But, we're just about back into the fall routine, so the videos will be back!  Thanks so much for asking!

My Special Place ... MDS

 Here's another MDS page!  I've been having WAY TOO MUCH fun doing these lately!  Some of you ask WHEN I do this and still have a life, and my answer to most things is I don't watch TV (ok, much TV...I'm excited to know a new episode of Amazing Race is starting soon!)  When my kids want me in the room to watch a movie or tv, I usually have my computer and I just putter on that while we snuggle.  They are zoned in on the tv and I'm zoned in on my computer:)

I keep thinking how great it is when I look back in my photo albums to see photos of my mom and my dad.  I wish I had more "stories" and their "thoughts" on paper as these are special things to look back on.  So I have decided to try and include a little bit more of me in my scrapbooking.  Not a ton...but a bit!

This page is just about the cottage, my favourite place in the world!  I challenge you to scrapbook yourself!  If you do, or if you do this already, please share your experience with me!  Have a great afternoon, I'm off to a workshop with Marion, I can't wait!!!

Same colours...way different look

 Isn't it funny how you can use the exact same colour combination and you end up with something completely different?  I love it!

This card uses the same colours as yesterday: More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler and Not Quite Navy.  For the image, I simply stamped it in Basic Black, although I think I should have embossed it.  The frame for the greeting is embossed in black embossing powder.  I stamped the greeting on a separate piece of Very Vanilla, sponged it and popped it up with dimensionals.

The dry embossing was achieved by placing the cardstock half in the embossing folder and running it through the Big Shot.  I then sponged on top of the embossing to accent it a bit.

The background of the main image was achieved using ink and sponges.  The main tip to this is BE GENTLE.  Less is more and you can always ad, but you can't take away!  I only sponged using More Mustard and Cherry Cobbler.

Mark's Final Soccer Game ... My Digital Studio

 Thank you to those of you that have been emailing me questions about my MDS adventures.  One question I thought I would answer here is why digital?  I still love the act of paper crafting and creating scrapbook pages, but my life is so busy with family and work that MDS is the perfect solution for me!  I am able to create, journal and share AND stay on top of my scrapbooking!!!  I have not given up with traditional scrapbooking but this is certainly a wonderful option right now in my life!  As a matter of fact, I am also using MDS to help with my scrapping.  The nine month page I made the other day of Cole, I actually duplicated almost exactly in paper form for my Grandma.  So it's a fun way to plan a page as well as have it for my books!  Thanks so much for asking!

This page was done on Mark's last soccer tournament game.  It was a fun day as Adam got to coach with Mark's friend's dad since our coaches were away.  Mark really enjoyed soccer this year and is already looking forward to it for next year!

You're "tea"rific! Morning Cup card...

 I really do love this stamp set!  It is just a fun and happy set and to colour makes it even more fun!  I've thoroughly been enjoying my colouring classes.  I do have to laugh though, Adam thinks it's strange that a room full of grown women are sitting around colouring with crayons and not talking with one another as we try so hard to stay in the lines:)  I love it!

This card however, wasn't coloured with watercolour crayons.  It is far too intense for that, this is coloured with the markers and NO blender pen or aqua painter.  I know....I can't wait to share!  I will be holding a class on this at the end of September, so keep checking back for details on that one!

• Cherry Cobbler - 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, scallop oval
• More Mustard - 4 x 4 run through the Polka Dot Embossing Folder

A Little Emma MDS

 Seriously, I have got to stop my girl or I will be out of work soon!  Not only is Emma super talented at stamping she is not beginning to take over my computer and doing her own MDS pages.

This one was made of her trip to the Ontario Science Centre with Adam, her aunt and her cousin, Monica.  The main reason for the trip was to check out the Harry Potter exhibit.  Emma has been a die hard Harry Potter fan for about 5 years now, so she was pretty excited to check it all out.  Unfortunately, you couldn't take pictures inside the display, but she got some of the flags which made her happy.

A lot of you ask me about my fonts for MDS.  When using MDS, it automatically connects with ALL the fonts you have on your computer.  So any font you use in a word doc, is also available in MDS.  I do download fonts from the internet (such as today's Harry Potter font) to add some neat detail to my pages.  If you find some good fonts, I'd love a heads up!!!  One of my favourite (and probably overused fonts) is Ali's Hand which was a free download from Creating Keepsakes.

Beautiful Baby Boy

 I was hoping to have a photo of my good friend, Martha's "new" baby boy!  He is adorable and the one time I've met baby "G", I was too busy hogging him and forgot to snap a picture!  So, the card will have to do today for you:)

This card came together quite quickly using the same gathered ribbon technique I had yesterday on my Halloween creations.

9 Months ... Actually almost 10!

 Can you believe it?  I've done Cole's nine month page!  Where did that time go?  Nine months...enough time to have had another baby...NOT!!!  We are so blessed with a fabulous family and are ready to move on and enjoy each of them at their stages.  

I appreciate all the comments and suggestions you offered to me last month on my non eating Cole.  Well, it turns out all I had to do was go away to Convention and Cole decided he'd eat, sleep through the night and just overall be a little happier!  Not sure how this made me feel initially (kidding), but I'm thrilled now!  Cole now doesn't stop eating:)  

Today he had a little milestone, he stood on his own for about 20 seconds.  I can't say I'm impressed as I would love to have a stationary baby, BUT truly we're all excited!  Cole sure has brought joy to us all!  Hope you like today's page.  It's pretty simple.  I used the Play Date DSP (shocker) but with a totally different colour combination.  I think it's a very different look!  I also used the NEW download of the striped grosgrain ribbon....isn't it delightful?

LOVE Halloween!!!

 Now I have to laugh.  A year ago, I had a post on my blog asking when you thought it was appropriate to start decorating for Halloween. I had that post because I'd been showcasing Halloween creations throughout August.  Can you believe that this is my FIRST Halloween post so far this season!  Crazy!  I'm shocked, but really, get on your seat belts cause there will be LOTS of Halloween to share:)

 This card has got to be one of my favourite cards I've made.  I'm not sure what it is, the colours, the layout, the ribbon, the spider web....not sure but I'm in LOVE!

The colours for this card are Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Basic Black.  These are the colors I used last year for Halloween but I love them so much I may have to use the same palette two years running!

 Do you LOVE the web in the background?  It's a new embossing folder that comes out on September 1st!  I can't wait!  After embossing, I actually dragged a sponge over the web that had a little dab of White craft ink on it.  I like how it makes it pop a bit.

The ribbon is simply folded and then attached to the back of the 2 1/2 inch circle punch (also coming SOON!).  I dragged all the edges of the CS in White Craft Ink, I just love how it softens the edges a bit.

I made this matching box using the NEW Big Shot Die...candy box.  Isn't it ADORABLE?  I can't wait to make a million of these for Mark and Emma's classes this Halloween!!!  (OK, I can wait, but I am excited:)  I used the same stamps, colours and supplies to make this little treat box as I did on the card.  

I hope you like today's projects.  I have to say they are a favourite and I can't wait to display them this coming Halloween season! (I am so excited to share photos of my Halloween displays:)

Daddy Moments ... MDS Page

 This page was quick and simple to put together.  I was able to use one photo across the 12 inch page as I take my photos in the "large setting".  If you take your photos in the smallest photo size on your camera, you could run into issues of photos pixelating.  I would suggest that you check your camera out just to make sure:)

I used some of the NEW ribbon download (the Real Red Striped Grosgrain).  I found it to be too wide for this page, so I simply tucked it under the edge of the photo.  The border strips are from Play Date (yummy new download) and from Rock a Bye kit as well.  Isn't it fun to be able to mix it up?  That's one of the many great features of MDS!

The other little detail on the page is the ribbon punch just poking up above the ribbon.  It too was a download.  Did you know that the punch downloads are only $2.95!  Isn't that amazing!  AND remember, when downloading any MDS purchases, there are no shipping fees and you get them instantly!  Thanks SU!

Yes, I'm still loving AVIARY!

 You didn't actually think I could go a week without sharing a card made with Aviary, did you?  I know, it's just the cutest set and I'm having SO MUCH FUN with it!  I am still smiling thinking of the wonderful night I had with my friends at the Aviary stamp class, thank you!

This card uses colours I never thought I would mix together ... Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango and Real Red!  I know, fun isn't it!  I will admit that Tangerine Tango wasn't my favourite when we had it a few years back as an In Colour, but I have to say that I'm finding it pretty tasty now that it's back!  

I couldn't settle on a matching ribbon for this card, but I ended up loving the Poppy Parade ribbon with it.  It had that nice hint of orange with the red base.  

Now, you don't need to tell me if Aviary isn't your favourite set EVER, but hopefully you can take something from today's card.  A layout, colour combination or both!

Rumble in the Jungle...MDS

 I've been a "good girl" and am completing some of my MDS pages in order.  I am really excited to scrap the cottage, but I want to get a few other pages done first!

Baby Stars Day Out

 I know, I know, I haven't been sharing my MDS pages with you lately!  Well, let me be honest...I've fallen a bit behind, but that's okay as I'm on a mission!  I actually didn't take my computer to the cottage with me as I didn't want to be tempted by "work" but looking back I wish I had as I missed doing MDS!  I have so many things I could have been doing....Christmas gifts (I know!), cottage book, family album, calendar....and the list goes on:)

BUT I can assure you, you will be seeing a TON of pages in the near future as I took....are you ready.... 1438 pictures while we were at the cottage!  I know!  Who does that?  Please tell me you do this!  Adam was getting pretty funny about all the photos and he asked me at one point why I take so many pictures.  And I realize it's because I love it!  I do want to capture the memories, I do want a good picture, but I do these things because I love it!  I love watching my children through the camera and really looking at their intensity and focus on what they are doing.  Now don't get me wrong, I do love to join in and participate as well, but at times, being behind the camera is a ton of fun for me!  

Now, I must say that of the 1400 plus pictures I took in the seven days, I am THRILLED with about 20 of them....I've already sent them off and had them printed as a few are going in frames:)  So over the next few weeks, I hope you don't get sick of family pages:)

In the meantime, today's page is from an impromptu picnic I had with some of my team.  It was a super fun day that just sort of fell together VERY last minute and ended up being a BLAST!  We packed a somewhat potluck lunch, a million kids (ok, 11), a few moms (6) and off we went!  It was so much fun and I can't wait to do it again soon!  (Simply Stars...keep watch on the downline blog for a play date posting:)

Loving the 80s Snowman!

 Now I don't ever consider myself to be "old" or even aging, but when I saw this stamp set, it IMMEDIATELY took me back to my childhood!  The jolly Santa face and this adorably chubby snowman instantly brought a smile to my face!  Doesn't he remind you of Frosty, you know the show that is on TV every December?  Anyhow, I love it and hope you do too!!!

The other thing I am really enjoying is the fresh and bring new DSP in the upcoming mini catalogue (only another week and you too can order from it:)  The colours are Blushing Bride, Real Red, Baja Breeze and Garden Green.  I know, not one you may think of but isn't the colour combination yummy!

Do you like the added touch of the ribbon punch as well on the card front?  Can you see it peeking under the edge of the Real Red.  I love the subtle accents this adds to a card!

Emma is a Rock Star!

 As I have been preparing for my upcoming fundraiser using the Holiday Happiness stamp set, Emma has had fun stamping with me.  I have been playing Christmas music while hanging out in the stamp room, and thinking I'd be making a ton of Christmas projects.  While I've been doing that, check out what Emma made!  Can you see how she used the set?  It's the Christmas tree stamped upside down!  Isn't she a smart cookie?

Then she used the ornament in the stamp set as the petals on the card.  Seriously, I know!  She's crazy!  I love this card, thank you Emma!!!

 Is there really anything better than receiving a hand stamped card?  OK, there are some, but as a demonstrator and avid papercrafter you and I both know that receiving a hand stamped creation is special.  It's something I value and appreciate.

Mickey Mouse Club

 I love my Simply Stars team!  They are a group of amazing women that share the love of Stampin' Up!  I offer two types of meetings for my girls.  They are welcome to come to both, one or none ... whatever works for them!  One is a creative meeting based on sharing and friendship, the other meeting has these elements but focuses on building a business.  Because Disney is this year's incentive trip (and let's be real here ... not only is Disney AMAZING but Disney with Stampin' Up! will be UNBELIEVABLE!)  I have decided to use my friend, Lynsay's idea and have a Mickey Mouse club for my business builders.  

It's a simple invitation but I love it!  Here is the quick recipe for this one:

 You guys are so funny!  I've received a few emails asking if "I'm feeling okay" or "what's wrong".  I know!  I've been showing Christmas samples and not Halloween!  Not to worry though, they are coming (and in mass numbers:)

I just love this Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper.  The colours pop and scream Christmas ... Old Olive, Pear Pizazz, Cherry Cobbler and Vanilla!  (OK, now I'm hungry)  This is one of the fun fold cards that flips open.  The great thing about this type of card is there are more areas for photos or gift cards or messages to share!

 There are a lot of pieces on this card for layering and you can certainly cut back but here's what I used:

• Old Olive - 4 1/4 x 10 scored at 5 1/2, 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4

Owl Punch

 This is one of the cutest punches EVER!  I will show you my Convention projects with this punch in a few days.  In the meantime, I wanted to show you a quick project that my new friend Sheila gave me at Convention.  I met Sheila at the Hippie Party on the Wednesday night at Convention and she showed me her sweet little swap.  I freaked out because it was so easy and cute AND quick!  I didn't have any swaps but Sheila was super sweet and gave me one just because.  Thank you Sheila!

This tag is done using the Two Tags die for the Big Shot.  Sheila creased her cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot so it folded over.  Then on the inside of this bookmark are two magnets so they will hold shut in the book as a bookmark.  Isn't that a great idea!  

To top it off, wouldn't this be a fun way to pass out your business card?  Tuck it between the magnets and your clients will never forget receiving your card!

Thank you Mom!

 For those of you that have stopped by my blog before, you know when I say a card from my mom, it'll be over the top amazing!  Well, today is NO exception!  This is the card that my mom made Adam and I for our anniversary!  Isn't it CRAZY?

This card uses the retired SU die the Petal Card Die, so if you have it, you can copy this idea.  If you don't you can either make your own template or use the new mini punch and make a tiny version of this:)

 So the front of the card has an image that has been cut up and made into a puzzle.  Then when you open up the card to "level 2" you can see a similar layout with crazy details added.  Aren't they fun?  And can you see how the front of the card flips open using the tabs on the Petal Card Die?

 Then the inside of the card is ADORABLE!!!  My mom is WAY over the top!  I love this card!  Thanks Mom!  In my mom's traditional style, she has used multiple stamp sets for this one .. the level two hostess set (Picnic Parade) from the last mini, the wheel from the Family series stamps and I'm not sure where the bike is from.

The colouring is done using markers on watercolour paper.  Aren't they vibrant and fun?  Anyhow, I hope you like this card!  Thanks again mom!  Love you.

It's another PARTY!

 Isn't this set, Party This Way ADORABLE? It is so easy and it only $14.95 in clear!  I love clear for this very reason...cheap but amazing quality!!!  This card layout is one of my favourites.  It is simple and clean and can be done with so many different stamp sets.  One of my favourite things to do with this layout is to stamp a big image and then cut it into four on a card front.  Sorry, got off topic:)

Celebrations Designer Series Paper ROCKS

Vintage Vogue

 Saturday already?  Wow, where did this week go?  I LOVE getting mail and this card was no exception!  Isn't it beautiful?

My friend Nicole from Australia mailed me the gorgeous card!  I love the colours and all the details on this card.  Thank you Nicole, this means a lot to receive this work of art.

The colours on this card are Rich Razzleberry and Soft Suede.  It uses the stamp set Vintage Vogue and the punch, Two Step Bird Punch.

It's hard to see in this photo, but the flowers on the bottom left are cut out and popped up.

Convention Series #2

 I didn't forget about you:)  Thank you for asking for the next series that I demonstrated on stage.  When Holly called me to ask if I'd share with you lovely ladies on stage she asked what punch was number one on my list from the new catalogue.  Yes, I had to pick the Bitty Bat punch!  Isn't it ADORABLE?  I know some of you that aren't Halloween crazy, but this punch isn't just about Halloween!

For all of my samples, I used the colour palette directly from the Wicked Fun DSP.  It's Cajun Craze, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive and Basic Black.  Isn't it "spookalicious?"  I LOVE it!

 I demonstrated on stage the 3 x 3 card (how to make the little bat frame for the word Spooky) and then I showed the other samples.

I love my little "pooky pider" page of Nathan.  I did a version of this Halloween costume in digital but am still enjoying the paper craft as well.  This one will be for a frame to display at Halloween!

 The final photo for today shows how else we can use the bat punch.  Now, I know, there will be many more uses to come and I'll be sharing those over time, but here are just a few to tease you:)

NEW Stamp Clubs Coming! Looking for a fun night out?

 One of my favourite stamping 'events' are my monthly stamp clubs!  These are a wonderful opportunity to make new friends, share stories, hang out and all while stamping!  Oh, did I mention earning free stamping stuff as well?   I just LOVE to share my time with my "club girls"!  I would love to welcome YOU into one of my clubs as well!  Here are the nuts and bolts of my upcoming club:

• It's a six month club
• The first four months we will be focusing on Christmas and will make two cards, a tag and a package EACH MONTH
• On top of making these projects we will learn new tips, tricks and techniques.  For the month of September, we will work on "watercolouring" using just Stampin' Up! markers (check out Santa's cheeks)
• Each month you need to place a $35 order of SU supplies of your choice
• One month you will be the hostess which means you will earn a minimum of $20 in free merchandise AND free stamps
• These clubs will be held at my home each month OR if you have a group of six friends, I can bring the club to you!
• September club dates are Monday September 20 and Wednesday and September 22

Contempo Christmas

 I hope your week is off to a great start!  I had a blast at my Aviary class yesterday, thank you to each of the ladies that attended, I hope you had fun too!

This stamp set was a must have when the catalogue came out.  I fell in love with this funky little tree.  It is such a sweet little image that can be coloured in really fast to add a little bit of pop to it!

I also really like the greeting message, "Christmas is love, with all the trimmings." Sweet don't you think?

Today's card is a square one...I've been doing more and more of these cards.  I've been asked how I mail them, and the answer to that is still using a medium envelope.

 Thanks for the emails and the kind words yesterday on my Seriously? MDS post.  I'll try and answer your questions here and if I miss any, please feel free to email me and I'll do another MDS Answers Post for you!

Where do you get your fonts?

Free from the internet.  I just google search free fonts and find some that I love.  Creating Keepsakes has some great free fonts to download.

What do you do with all your pages?

Print them!!!  I have YET to print a 4x6 photo since Cole was born, but I have printed off multiple photo albums.  I LOVE to look through the books and just watch them grow!

Who prints your pages?

Hands down Stampin' Up!  I have had my books that I created in My Digital Studio printed elsewhere for comparison.  Hands down SU is a better quality print, the colours are more accurate and well, they are just plain wonderful!  AND on top of that , you can be a hostess and earn rewards and free product when ordering through Stampin' Up! (can't get that elsewhere:)

How do you come up with layouts?

This question is a little tougher.  For the most part, I check out scrapbooking magazines for layouts.  However, I will start with an idea and end up with something TOTALLY different, which I'm okay with!

Hope you like this page of my munchkins.  We went to the park a couple of nights ago and I just wanted to take a million photos.  I'm trilled with what I got.  Next time I'll plan it a little better though and at least have the kids in clean closes (and not just his diaper:)

 This stamp set is quite ADORABLE and very versatile!  I cased this card right from the catalogue, however, I didn't use the Celebrate Accents (I didn't own them at the time...but I do now:)  

I love to create 3x3 cards. I loved what my friend Marilyn suggested about these cards as well.  Often after a class if she isn't going to use the card as a 3x3, she cuts this card in half, creates the same image on the back and then mounts the 3x3 on a standard sized card and VOILA!  How smart is she?

This card is quick and simple.  Here goes:

Sweet Shop Inspiration

 If you're a blog hopper or you've been on my blog in the last few weeks, you've seen the AMAZING Sweet Shop that Stampin' Up! put together.  Well, my friend (at least that's what I call her), Paula Hogan, worked endless number of hours on this amazing creation with her team.  I had the honour of working with her at Convention and she is as sweet as the sweet shop!  Isn't she adorable?  I just wish we had more time together!  (I'm sure she's glad it's over:)

 This picture of me is in front of none other than the Halloween Sweet Shop section.  Are you surprised?  I can't wait to make a million of each sample in this case (ok, slight exaggeration!)  But I will be recreating some of them for sure!

The purpose of the Sweet Shop was really to showcase the product lines and colours that we offer.  I loved this idea and really wanted to create my own Sweet Shop.  Now there are not enough hours in a day for me to even begin this process so I thought of a "pretty" alternative.  

 I created frames in my classroom that showcase our colours and our products.  Now, I've only got a few of them done so far, but I can't wait to make more.  The first is of the Brights Designer Series Paper Pack and the Brights Flower Brads.  I just cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 4 x 6 and then cut six 2 x 2 squares of the DSP that match the accessories (Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry).  Then on the bottom corner of the DSP I attached a flower brad.  FUN!

 The second frame is my MOST FAVOURITE!  It makes me smile every time I walk by the frame!  Yes, I know the title is a bit redundant, but it's BUTTONS!  Who doesn't love buttons?  I thought displaying them this way lets my customers see the colours and styles of ALL the buttons.  This little display is done on a 12x12 sheet (the backing paper that comes in our DSP).  I hope you like it!

 I had to share an MDS page with you today (I know, two posts in one day:)  I've been having so much fun with my family this summer and I haven't been creating my pages as I enjoy doing.  So, I took a few minutes tonight to make another "Nathanism" page.  He is just a silly, funny little boy and we love what he has to say and share!  So, I had to do a page:)

Convention Series #1

 Some of you have asked what I presented at Convention and if I could share.  For sure I can!  Thanks for asking!  I was asked to present workshop cards that focus on punches.  This was an easy one for me as I love my punches and use them ALL the time!  So I decided to do a presentation that focuses on circle punches first and the new stamp set...yes, you guessed it Aviary:)  

This first card would be one that I would demonstrate at a workshop and have my customers make this card.  It is cute, but simple and offers a technique as well.  I call this punch highlighting.  

Here is the recipe for this card:

• Pacific Point - 4 1/4 x 9 1/2 scored at 5 1/2
• Old Olive - 1 inch circle
• Whisper White - 3/4 inch circle, Word Window
• Old Olive DSP - 4 1/4 x 2
• Rich Razzleberry - Modern Label
• Ink - Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black
• Stamps - Aviary, Family Phrases
• Accessories - Basic Rhinestones, Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals

 Don't you love these YUMMY colours together?  This next card is my favourite.  I love the peek-a-boo window.  It uses the same stamps and same colours, just adds a little extra something to the card.  The Old Olive measurements are 4 1/4 x 11 scored at 3 1/2 and 7 1/2.

 Rather than punch highlighting here though, we are making a little peek-a-boo window.  The easiest way to do this is stamp the image on top of the card first then punch out a circle.  Using the clear stamps made this way easier.  I then stamped the owl through the hole where he should go to sit on the bottom of the cage.  Then I stamped the cage around him on the inside and magically it lined up!

The I just stamped all the other cages and birds around this main image.  Do you like?  Then this opens up to the inside of the card ready for a greeting or another image.

To go along with these, I also showed my Simply Adorned Charm I showed a few weeks back on my blog and the Happy Bird Day scrapbook page.  Thanks again for asking and I will share the other two segments over the course of the week.

Watercolouring...like a pro!

 A definite highlight for me at Convention was learning from some VERY talented and amazing women.  I was honoured to share the stage with creative goddesses:)  One of them was Diana Gibbs.  She is a rock star when it comes to watercolouring!  Now in saying all of this, my sample for my card today was not using Diana's amazing techniques (I made this card before I left for Convention).  I have made a few cards since using her style and boy is it WAY BETTER!!!  I can't wait to share this with you!  I have a class at the end of the month (August 24th, one at 1:30 and the other at 7) demonstrating this.  There are multiple options for this class if you're interested in coming, please email me.  Classes will be limited to 7 people so we can all sit together and colour!  (yes we are grown women sitting around colouring...I can't wait!!!)

In the meantime, this is a card I did using the markers and watercolour paper.  I do have to agree that this stamp set is ADORABLE. I wasn't going to get it but when I had an overwhelming number of customers tell me it was their top set, I thought I best get it so I can create some samples for all the customers that have invested in this set.  I am so glad I did.  Aren't the images ADORABLE?

Thank you Soccer Coaches!

 I really enjoy the time that I spend in my studio (I've been told that now that I'm an adult it's no longer a craft room:)  I love to waste away an evening (or night) in my room but during this time I don't have music on as my studio is between my children's rooms.  So when I have the opportunity to create WITH my kids and WITH music is is the absolute BEST!  To top if off, I had an hour to stamp alone with Mark the other day!  He doesn't usually choose to stamp so when he asked to make his soccer coaches thank you cards I was THRILLED!  

Mark really loved the sample in the catalogue so we cased the sample right from the catalogue and just switched up the colours to match his team.  I think this weekend, he wants to make the milk cartons with treats in them for his teammates.  Can't wait!

Hamilton Regional Friday Night Event! It's a GO!

The Simply Stars team, from London, is excited to host a Stamping Night you’ll never forget!  With the amazing response of just about selling out for the Hamilton Regionals in under ONE DAY, I know you are keen and excited!!!  We are going to have a night of fun, stamping, prizes and sharing that you will not want to miss!

This three hour event will be a blast!  It will be on Friday, September 24^th from 7 – 10 pm at the Sheraton Hamilton Hotel (116 King Street West, Hamilton ON L8P 4V3)

Here is the agenda for the evening:

 7 – 8: Shoebox Swap (Heather Style!)  For this event simply make one sample and cut five others for friends to create!  You’ll go home with five fabulous creations and I ask that the sample card be left behind for our local Ronald McDonald House.  This is optional, if you don’t want to participate you are welcome to circulate and take pictures of samples and chat with friends.

8 – 8:45: Games, Prizes and Stamping Fun – Ever since Convention I’ve been dreaming up stamping games and I can’t wait to share them with you!  Everyone has the opportunity to participate and win prizes!  Lots and lots of prizes!

Feeling a bit Festive!

 I'm sorry for the blog changes over this past weekend.  Not sure what happened to my Typepad account but when we returned home from Ohio I was surprised by the new "look" of my blog.  It was missing a bunch of features and after a few emails with Typepad a speedy recovery was made (thank you Typepad) and right now I have this.  Hope you like it!

Aviary....LOVE LOVE LOVE this set!

 Are you sick of me using this set yet?  I'm so sorry, well, actually I'm not.  I have had so much fun with this stamp set and can't wait for my class on this!  I was going to do cards that I had already created for a demo class I did in Utah, but I've had too much fun with it so I've come up with all new projects!  I had to share this one with you today.

 At Convention, there are a million and one display boards and this concept was on one of them.  I loved the idea of a little match box with cards inside.  The sample at Convention was done with Batty For You (also love this set) so I thought I'd borrow the idea and use it for Aviary.  If you know who's sample I saw I'd love to send off a thank you!  Unfortunately at Convention, the creators aren't labelled so it's an unknown to me:)

I just love the colour combination I've used on this, but this whole idea can work for any occasion.  Isn't it fun?  This is one of the projects we will be making on Tuesday at my class.

 I have to say, upon returning from Convention Mark (my 8 year old) was thrilled to get some new Lego from me, BUT he was thrilled with a card my new friend Rose Marie gave me.  Isn't it adorable???

Mark is a Star Wars freak and we've been working on R2D2 and C3P0 which we'll share a little later.  I love that coming home from Convention inspired Mark to craft with me and make some punched art!  So, thank you Rose Marie for sharing your passion with us and giving me this time with Mark!!!

NEW Basic Birthday Sizzlit!

 This Big Shot Sizzlit is a whole lot of fun!  I love the versatility of this Sizzlit...it can be a scrapbook title, a border, used on a card, cut apart to form other words... the possibilities are endless!  Isn't this card fun?

I used the new Celebrations DSP for this card and focused on the colour combo in the paper ... Pacific Point, Real Red and Pear Pizazz with some Bashful Blue thrown in there!   I truly think this DSP will make some super fun Christmas cards as well!  Can't wait to play with that one!

 This is a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 inch card.  The balloons are from the new stamp set Party This Way (clear is only $14.95...crazy!).  I stamped them on Whisper White, then cut them out, attached them to the Bashful Blue square and hand drew the strings.  Do you like?  The Sizzlit was just cut apart to fit on the card... looks like it was meant to be!

This second sample is one I demonstrated at Convention using the Peek-a-boo window and the punch highlighting techniques.  It's a little birthday page (with photos that aren't really birthday...but they matched...thanks Barb for the photos:)  Anyhow, notice the title?  I cut apart the word, cut an extra D and suddenly it's "Happy Bird Day!"  Too cute!

Christmas....seriously!

 I know, I know!  It's August!  But, it's never too early to start, right?  This is one of the cards we made in our Christmas card class last week!  I had so much fun, thank you ladies for coming to this class!

This card uses Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla.  It all matches with the Holiday DSP.  Isn't it FANTABULOUS?!?!?   (great word to describe this paper!)  It's tough to see in this photo but there is a Basic Rhinestone on the red ornament and this ornament is popped up.  It's tough to tell in a photo, but the Pear Poly Ribbon is SO soft and wonderful to tie!  I am thrilled with this new ribbon (and yes, will be ordering it in all the colours:)
