 Well, it's a little late in coming but I finally got my niece's page done from a few weeks back.  I'm glad that I waited to make this page though because I love these paper daisy embellishments!  Aren't they sweet?  It's a new purchase download in MDS.  I like to add a little shadow to them to make them pop off the page!  Do you like how they add to the page?

The background is done in Melon Mambo and then made 50% opacity.  The DSP is Melon Mambo and Night and Day DSP.  The modern label punch hosts the title and I used the other label punch for the journaling.

Mark's Award MDS Page

 With all that has been happening in July with preparing for Convention and then being at Convention my scrapbooking time has been drastically cut!  So, I've been playing catch up on some pages I really want to include in my book.  I'm almost to the point of getting another album printed for my 12x12.  I don't think I shared my 5x5 books that I made for my niece and my Grandma.  I did a "first year brag book" for Augusta and a "Happy 89th Birthday Tea book" for my Grandma.  They turned out GREAT!  I love them!  I am sold on doing the album covers printed (rather than the leather).  I love the look of them not only when looking through the book, but resting on my shelf!  

Today's page has pictures from June from the awards assembly at my kids' school.  Mark worked hard this year and earned the Citizenship award which we are super proud of!  I am not very good at keeping things for my kids (I have a pile of their treasures, but I always feel guilty I don't have an album or special spot for certificates and ribbons.) So to ease my guilt, I make sure I take pictures of them with these treasures so they can at least have that in the years to come.

Share What You Love...

(These are my girls that could make it to Convention this year - Jodie, Renee, Anne, Anne, Tina and myself)  This was the theme of Convention and I can't tell you how powerful these words are!  I am so fortunate to have this amazing company called Stampin' Up! as a part of my everyday life!  I love to create, I love to share, I love to stamp, but more importantly I love what Stampin' Up! has done for not only myself, but my family as well!  

 Being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator has enabled me to stay at home with my four children and continue to contribute to the family income.  Stampin' Up! has allowed me to enjoy lots of amazing perks such as FREE stamps, incentive trips and so much more!  But most importantly, Stampin' Up! has welcomed me into a network of amazing women (and the occasional man....Kevin if you read my blog this one is for you:)  I have formed so many amazing friendships and relationships because of a little rubber and paper.  Some of my closest friends are girls on my Simply Stars Team.  We all have different goals with Stampin' Up! and are in different points in our lives, but the adhesive that holds us together is our love for Stampin' Up!  

My girls on my team always tease me that I'm not a very "good" recruiter and that they had to be pretty blunt for me to "get" that they were wanting to become a demonstrator (mostly for the discount).  This past Convention has taught me that I need to Share What I Love a little better!  I am excited to shout it out and let you know this was the best decision I have made (and remember I only signed on for the discount!)  In saying this, I need to let you know that there is no time like the present!  Stampin' Up! Just Buzzin' By.....

 A week and a bit ago, on my Sunday Sketch challenge, Tiffany used this stamp set and I loved her card!  So, I decided to pull it out, dust it off and make a card.  I love this set but sometimes forget about it. (I'm sure you have a few sets like this.)

I used More Mustard, Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy.  I used the watercolour paper and stamped the image with Staz On.  I then coloured it in using the SU markers (Daffodil Delight, More Mustard, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Soft Suede) and my aqua painter.  The "hive sweet hive" and bee are stamped, cut out and punched up.  

I also added a little rhinestones on the flowers to add some bling.  Do you like?  This bling has got to be my favourite!  I also used the Daffodil Taffeta ribbon (the thin stuff and did you know this ribbon goes through buttons?)  I also embossed just the bottom of the card with the embossing folder.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Saturday at Convention

 When Saturday came, I can say that we were all exhausted!  Although we could have all slept in until noon, we got up with smiles on ready for an exciting morning!  Shelli and her daughter, Sara, presented together on stage!  They were hilarious!  It was so delightful watching the two of them interact and share together on stage!  I LOVED that they came out on stage wearing our new fabric (if you haven't heard....yes, we're carrying fabric in the next mini!  How AWESOME is that?)  Their skirts turned into tree skirts as well ... Simply Adorable!

 The first session was about an hour and then we had our last series of classes.  I had a lot of fun in my last presentation.  I actually have to say it was really sad to be done.  Presenting at the Stampin' Up! Convention was an exciting and fun experience I am thrilled I had the opportunity to embrace.  I will admit that I was completely nervous but walking out on stage for that first time, I looked out in the audience, saw a few familiar faces, took a deep a breath and thought I'd be happy to share with all these amazing women and men.  So, I just went out and had fun!  I think the four of us (Kristin, Lynsay, Diana and I) all felt the same way and had a blast together!  This photo is of the four of us plus all our Stampin' Up! friends we made "back stage".  I miss them already!

 Then we had a yummy lunch (they were all great!) and we headed off to an afternoon closing session!  The final session was WOW!  There were some super fun stamping presentations and some big, but vague announcements.  As things become more clear we can certainly let you know, but in the meantime, we were prepped for a year of exciting change and exciting new products!   I can't wait!

 AND guess what....they announced that there will be a Stampin' Up! Regional event in Hamilton Ontario!  Can you believe it!  I am SO SO SO EXCITED about this!  I can't wait to spend the day with my team at an official SU event!!!  If you've ever been even considering this SU opportunity there is NO TIME like the present!  I would LOVE to have you join my team and join us for an amazing day at our Hamilton Regionals!  Registration begins on August fourth and it will sell out!  SO, if this is something you'd enjoy let's chat! I can't wait to have you join my team!

Happy Birthday Bill!

 It's another Emma card!  Isn't she super talented?  I know, she gets it from her Gramma!  Emma wanted to make Grampa a birthday card and so she decided to use the new stamp set It's a Classic.  Isn't it cute?

Emma used Real Red, Not Quite Navy and Whisper White for this card.  She coloured it in using the Real Red, Not Quite Navy, Basic Black and Gray.  His face is Blush Blossom (remember, you can still get this in a marker:)

Now the circles, usually say DAD, but she used the marker and added an extra circle then hand wrote BILL!  Isn't she a smart little cookie?  Thanks Emma for sharing!  I hope you have a great day!

Friday at Convention

 As promised, I'll share more on Convention with you!  My intentions were to share each day but it got BUSY and I was tired:)  Adam even went on Splitcoast to find out details ... I felt a little bit bad about that one:)  Very sweet though!

 So Friday was an AMAZING group session.  I love when Brent Steele presents, it's always entertaining and FUN and to top it all off his whole presentation was on Halloween!  Can you imagine my excitement!!!  It was GREAT!  I can't wait to do some classes using his ideas!  I just need to focus on a few ideas or I'll be offering 20 different classes each month:)  There were many other great presentations but this was my highlight!

 A fun announcement was made for all you hostesses out there!!!  In August, any hostess that reaches $450 in sales will get an ADDITIONAL $35 in free stuff!  That means $80 in FREE merchandise plus the hostess stamps!  Isn't that amazing?  I have a couple of dates still available in August should you decide that you'd like to host a Stampin' Up! with me.

 In the afternoon, I got to teach my class twice and I had some time to attend part of one class and check out the millions of samples on the display boards.  It was overwhelming all the talent and great cards that were on display from wonderful demonstrators like yourself!  Thanks for sharing!  I also discovered I had a board with my on stage samples, so this was fun to see.  I will share my creations with you over the next few weeks as well.

 Then in the evening, a large group of us went out to the Last Samuri for dinner.  It was so YUMMY!!!  Thank you to all the "little kittens" that came along with us as well!  (That's my friend Lynsay trying REALLY hard to catch a shrimp in her mouth:) Jodie and Renee got to attend their Artisan dinner which seemed quite magical!  I was excited to hear all the details and see the beautiful creations.  Then the group of us went back to our hotel and stamped away.  It was such a fun night!  Thanks for sharing in our experience!  I'll post about Saturday tomorrow hopefully:)  Back to family time (and prepping for my class tomorrow:)

A little more Aviary and some blog candy!

 I can't get enough of this stamp set!  I love the birds.  I saw a lot of ADORABLE swaps done with this set at Convention and can't wait to have even more play time with it!  These cards will be a part of my upcoming Aviary card class!  I'll have details on this in the next few days.

Don't the rhinestones help to make this card?  I love the little bit of bling these new embellishments make.  AND they are cheap!!  That is so exciting to me!!!  There are a lot that will go a long way!  I think I may add one more to the top of the bird cage on the left...what do you think?  This card measures 4 1/4 x 4 1/4.  I'm having fun making lots of different shaped cards right now.

 This next card (I know, two in one post, crazy eh?)  This card is a direct CASE from the catalogue.  I switched up the colours, but I loved the layout and so here you go!  I do have to say that this year's Idea Book and Catalogue is FULL of great samples and ideas and you'll be seeing more modified cards here in future!  Let me know your favourite sample in the book...hey, leave me a comment and maybe I'll have some blog candy to send out!!!  That sounds like a great idea...don't you think?  So, let me know the page number of your favourite sample (or two) and you'll be entered in the draw for a prize!!!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Convention WOW Share

 My new friend, Monica, is heavily involved with the Late Night Stampers group.  Monica kindly asked if I'd do a "show and tell" on Saturday night at a Late Night Stampers gathering.  I accepted and then she dropped the "bomb"!  (Kidding:)  Monica nicely asked if I'd share MDS with the group.  I didn't want to do a scrapbook page though as I know a lot of people have a lot of MDS experience BUT I also wanted to have something that even newbies could relate to!  So, I decided to go hybrid....that means digital and traditional combined.

 The outside of my little album is all hand stamped.  The basic black is 4 1/2 x 6 1/4 and is used as the mat for all the photos (you'll see).  The celebrate is from the Big Shot and the stamp is from Crazy for Cupcakes on watercolour paper.

 The inside of the book is what I created in MDS.   I made up a template and then could easily recreate these pages for everyone in my family.  So this is a perpetual flip calendar.  I included the photo of each person, and then put their name and birthday date on the card.  I switched up the ribbon colour and stamped cupcake to match their photos.  If it was an anniversary, I used the wedding ring stamp.  

So my master plan for this little book is to hang it in my craft room with the next event at the front, this way I can easily see who and when the next card is needed.  Wish me luck!!!  I'll be back soon with a sketch challenge for you....just flying home now from an AMAZING week!  Thanks to everyone I met and will continue to maintain a friendship with!!!  Take care,

A morning without coffee....

 How many of you have that stamp set out there that you wonder why you have but you just need?  Well this set is that for me and I LOVE IT!!!  I was so happy to see this and the sentiment is quite appropriate for me!

The colour combination for today's card may just be a new favourite for me.  It started with the colour coach and then I added a bit to it.  It uses Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler and More Mustard!!!  YUMMY!!!!  In the middle image, I actually stamped the teetering tea cups on top of one another (so it's one stamp, stamped twice) as I wanted it to go off the page.  The buttons are from the new Regals button collection, aren't they fabulous!

Guest Blogger - Emma!

 Happy Friday to you!  I hope you have had a wonderful week!  I have been having a BLAST here at Convention and can't believe it's already Friday!!!

Last week when Emma and I were up far too late crafting she came up with this card. Isn't it SWEET?  I love it!  I love the shape and size of the card and the layout as well!  I just has to CASE it for my Friday night class.  So, I used the exact same idea and just switched up the colours!  Thanks Emma for the inspiration.

 The card measures 2 x 3 when done and the little squares are 3/4 of an inch. (It's probably bigger on your screen than in real life:) The owl's belly is popped up with dimensionals as well, which really adds to the card.

Thanks again for stopping by!  Today's day is group session in the morning (yes, thousands of crazy stampers getting excited, winning prizes, seeing amazing presentations and having just plain old fun!), classes this afternoon and then we're eating out at a Japanese restaurant tonight and then the stamping in our jammies!!!  Will update you later!

Convention Highlights and THANK YOU!

 Wow, what a day.  It's a late night here (2:34 your time at home) as I make this post but I want to share the excitement with you that we had today!  It was an action packed day!

We started off around 7:30 in the morning and headed on over to the Convention Centre.  We headed toward our "usual" seats to find out that they were reserved.  That was fine, we didn't think anything of it and then we found out that Stampin' Up! closed up their offices today so all their employees could attend Convention!  How amazing is that?  It was wonderful talking to these fantastic men and women that are the heart behind our passion!  Thank you to each of you!

 Open session today was uplifting, motivating, emotion filled and from the heart!  There were tears (right Renee?), laughs, smiles and fun!  I have to say that if nothing else you feel motivated to leave and work on your business after attending an event like this!  Sue Rusch did a wonderful presentation to us and left us with some great ideas I can't wait to implement and share.  Bonnie and Jill are both SU employees and rocked the stage with some AMAZING projects that I can't wait to CASE and show you!

 Then we had lunch.  It was great!  We chatted and relaxed and just enjoyed the down time.  I then parted ways with my team to go and prep for stage.  I was a little nervous but REALLY excited!  I got a little makeup done and off I went.  I had the honour of presenting first, which was a real treat.  The presentations were so much fun and I have my audience to thank for that!!!  So, if you were out there, THANK YOU!  If you are going to be coming to our class in the next day I can't wait to see you!

Then back to the hotel for a quick bite and prepping for awards night!  This evening was full of magic and excitement and pride.  I was so thrilled to see THREE of my girls go on the stage!!!!  Renee and Jodie were so full of joy and excitement as they walked up on the stage and gave Shelli a huge hug as they were awarded their Artisan Awards.  Anne got to walk across the stage as she has earned cruise, which is amazing!  Can't wait to sail in Alaska with Anne and her family!

 Now here comes the HUGE THANK YOU!  If you don't like mushy posts, stop reading right about HERE!  I was so honoured tonight with two amazing awards.  I achieved these awards because I am surrounded by amazing people!  I want to thank my friends, my customers, my devoted blog followers, and Stampin' Up! for making these dreams come true.  

 Most importantly I want to thank my family for their ongoing support and help in letting me build my business and continue to share what I love!  THANK YOU!  I was overwhelmed with shock when I found out that I was number one in sales for Canada and the number two Demonstrator of the Year!  I couldn't have done this without you and I thank you for that!   

 After awards we had an amazing concert put on for us by some amazing country group I can't remember the name of (but I will share more on that tomorrow).  In the meantime I have to crash:)  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're enjoying the Convention story highlights!

 I had a few cards I could share with you this week as well, so it's a Heather creation today!  I hope you don't mind all the Convention updates this week, I meant to give you the heads up.  Last year, my "local ladies" gave me trouble for not posting updates, information and photos.  SO, this year I said I'd do it!  Hope you don't mind (if you do then just scroll down over the Convention posts:)

Convention Update....

 Wow, it has been a fun and busy day here!  I am so excited to share some of our day with you!  We were up far too early (5:45...crazy, I know!) but we were so excited!  A group of us had to be at the Convention Center early so we got up, ate and headed off.  We all did a little shopping at Momento Mall which was super fun!!!!  It was crazy busy, but that's half of the fun!

 Then I had to head off to rehearsal.  It was an amazing experience!  SU is so organized and on the ball with it all, and I was so relaxed (which surprised me) and I am looking forward to presenting tomorrow.  One of the best things was meeting the other presenters, Kristin (from NJ....I'll get her full name and blog tomorrow for you), DIana Gibbs (Marcy, I gave her a hug for you) and my good friend Lynsay.  

 After rehearsal I met up with my team and we headed on over to the awards booth.  This was an exciting surprise for me!  I earned Founders Circle again this year.  This is because of YOU, my amazing friends and customers and in particular my phenomenal downline!  THANK YOU!!!  There will be more on this to come, but I wanted to share my good news with you and thank you.

 After lunch a group of us headed over to Riverton which is the Home Office for Stampin' Up!  That is the photo on the top, isn't it a beautiful building?  When we walked in the building there were all these fun banners hanging down and so we had our picture taken between them...cute, eh?  It's Renee, Leela, Anne, myself, Shilo, Leah and Jodie (from left to right).  The "inspiration room" was AMAZING and the samples were to die for that they had on display.  I picked one of my favourites to share with you today.  Isn't this display gorgeous?

 After Riverton we headed back to the hotel to get ready for the night.  Let me just say, we had an INCREDIBLE night!  For any of you out there sitting on the fence about coming to Convention, don't hesitate... it is SO worth it!  Tonight was a 70s Flower Power Gathering full of music, games, contests and prizes.  This is our group (less Tina as she was taking the picture) with Dale, the Canadian head office "guy" after we played a version of "A Minute to Win It".  It was so much fun!  

 After our fun game here we headed on over to the Twister boards!  I didn't realize it but I think I love Twister!  It was a riot!   After this we wandered around, did a little hoola hooping, people watched and just plain old had fun!!!

Guest Blogger - Bird!

 Now, this name (AKA Jen) is getting to be quite familiar on my blog. I think Bird makes me such cute creations just so she gets on my site (not cause she likes me:)  KIDDING!!!  I am lucky to have Bird and she is SUPER talented!  As a little thank you for lending her some supplies, she made me this adorable little magnet kit!

These were favours that Jen made for a shower, aren't they adorable?  It uses the Top note die as the header, with the stamp set Fifth Avenue Flowers.  The three little tags dangling from the silver cording really makes it!  And I love the chunky black glitter on the middle of the flower.  Thanks again Bird for this BEAUTIFUL gift and for being YOU!  Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!  I'll try and post photos from our "opening" day today at Convention....it's registration day and rehearsal day (I'm getting a little nervous....)  It'll be great though, right?  Chat later!

Downline Gifts!

 This Convention is going to be SO MUCH FUN!  Although, they all have been, so this won't be anything new.  The one "new" thing this time around though is we have made friends!  (yes, I feel like I'm five!)  There are six of us from my team that are travelling together and bunking together.  BUT we found some "strays" and have brought four more amazing women with us on this adventure!  Thank you Monica, Shilo, Melanie and Leah for taking a chance on us!  I think we drive them a little crazy and they may not ever choose to be with us again, but we'll have a great week with them (you'll see what I mean with photos as the week progresses:)

 I wanted to do something special for my team and also for our group.  So, today's post is the gift that I gave to each of my Simply Stars team members. I am so lucky to have such AMAZING women in my group to share such experiences with.  I made them a Simply Stars adorned necklace charm.  Each one is a different colour, but looks the same. I used the new rhinestones to add a little bling, but they are fairly clean and simple.  The picture looks a bit distorted but that is just because of the beveled edge of the class.  

 The stamp is actually one of the SU "create your own stamps" (yes, like the address ones).  I had one made a year ago with my team name on it!  I love having it and thought this was a perfect application for it.

Guest Blogger - Emma!

 While I'm away at Convention I have SO much to share!  I'll have Convention pictures, Convention projects I made and also cards Emma has made while I was preparing for Convention!!!  So, be prepared for lots of posts this week:)  I wanted to start off with Emma's card.  

Emma used all markers to create the multi coloured mushrooms on the bottom using the new stamp set Funky Four.  She wanted to hide some of the foxes behind the mushrooms so she masked.  Didn't she do a GREAT job!!!  This stamp set is adorable and I think Emma "done good". Thank you Simply Stars!

 WOW!  So, here we are in Detroit, our road trip has begun!  There are six of us travelling from my Simply Stars team to Salt Lake City for the annual Stampin' Up! Convention!  I can't wait! 

We started off fairly early this morning, to get stopped on the bridge for over an hour.  All was good though as we had great company (although the other ladies may not say that about me).

 We got a little shopping in today including Toys R Us, Target and Kohls.  We had Lebanese food for lunch and it was SO yummy, but I think you can smell the garlic on us from home!  This was so much fun!

Then tonight we headed onto the Detroit airport.  We are staying at the Springhill Marriot and it is so NICE (and cheap:)  It's a suite (so Anne doesn't have to put up with me being too close). If you need to stay over a night or you want to park and fly I would recommend this one!

Tonight we did a dinner with our friend Elise.  Well, she's a new friend (our waitress that is a bit of a clepto but super sweet ... a little Thelma and Louise story there).  And then tonight we hung out in the hotel together chatting and sharing some SUPER fun projects!  We made presents for each other and I can say that I was spoiled!  Thanks ladies!

 The first sample was made for me by Anne Granger.  Isn't it sweet?  It's a stamping survival kit.  If you click on the photo you can see it enlarged and check out the sweet poem she wrote!  Isn't it ADORABLE?

The second sample to show you tonight is from Jodie Olver.  It's a cute little nail kit (which I forgot at home so this was PERFECT for me!)  Thanks Jodie!  Don't you love the PlayDate DSP?  I can't wait to create with this paper!!!

And this last photo for tonight is from Renee!  Isn't it beautiful?  The DSP is so YUMMY...check it out in the catalogue.  And to top it off is the gorgeous striped ribbon (Navy).  Don't you love it?  Renee used the level one stamp set, Happy Afterthoughts.  And inside the box is chocolate!

Gymnastics STAR

 There is something to be said about a three year old in gymnastics.  It's all about the listening skills and following instructions, but boy when Nathan got excited that he could do it by himself, it sure made me smile!  When he learned to hang on the rings, I would smile and give him a thumbs up.  I'd then hear him say, "I know!" with the biggest blue eyes and huge smile on his face!  I'm looking forward to taking him back again in the fall!

In the meantime, here's the page I made for Nathan.  I'm happy with it!  I used Pacific Point as my background, and then I added a punch the size of the paper on top of this and used the Vintage DSP for the faded edges.  I love how "bright" it looks around that inside square.  It's quite the collection of DSP and embellishments (Night and Day DSP as well as the Hoppy Memories Scrappin Kit) but overall, I think it all "goes together".

Quick and Simple Girlie Card with a sketch!

   Thank you to each of you that left wonderful notes last week about the sketches!  I didn't realize they were that missed and am happy to continue with them!  Thanks so much!  

I wish I remember who I got the swap card from, but last year at Founders Circle, I remember getting a very fun and simple card that had four circles in Basic Black, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White.  I actually can't even find the card but I still remember how powerful this layout was so I thought I'd "case" it and create one of my own.

• Basic Black - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, 1 3/8 Circle Punch
• Melon Mambo - 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, 1 1/4 inch circles (3)

Look Who's ONE!!!

 My adorable niece celebrated her first birthday last weekend!  It was a HOT HOT day, but the kids were fantastic!  Augusta is an absolute doll and she loved all the attention!  I know you'll be seeing an MDS page of this day soon enough:)  I'm taking my laptop to Convention with me so I can do a little bit of creating while on the plane!  I got a lot accomplished on the way home from our last trip, so maybe this time will be the same!  I appreciate all the emails and kind words I've been receiving lately, thank you!  If I haven't gotten back to you yet, I do apologize, it's been crazy getting ready for Convention and spending time with the family.  I will be bringing my computer while I am away and will most likely have multiple posts each day!  I have my posts ready for every morning, but I'll try and add juicy bits of information and photos from Convention as the week progresses!  After Convention, I can also share my projects with you that I am presenting!  Can't wait....

 OK, so onto the card!  I wanted to make a card that matched the outfits we got Augusta so I used Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point!  Aren't they YUMMY together?  I used the Build A Bear stamp set that I don't pull out often enough!  It's tough to see in the photo, but the balloon and number 1 are covered in Crystal Effects.  I used the new smoosh stuff on the tissue paper in the bags.  The bear is coloured in using the new In Colour, Blushing Bride and inside the flower is a little gem stone:)  I hope you like the card today and are ready for a week of fun and excitement!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Anniversary!

 My goodness...11 years!  Adam and I have been married for 11 years to the day.  We had a wonderful Friday wedding that seems like yesterday.  If I could do it again, I would!  I thoroughly enjoyed our day!  I put this card together last night (probably the first card Adam has gotten from me for our anniversary in years....I'm the worst card giver:)  

The seven birds represent the 7 members of our family (Adam and I, 4 kids and of course Mitts).  It was fun putting this one together.  I suppose it sort of represents our life, a little chaotic at times, but lots of fun!  

Don't you just LOVE LOVE LOVE this set?  For my locals, I will be having an Aviary class in August!  It has so much potential and you'll be seeing a few more of these cards in the next little bit (I had a lot of play time with this set:)

This card also shows off the new Brights Collection (Daffodil Delight - 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4, Pumpkin Pie - 5 x 1, Melon Mambo 5 x 1 scalloped, Tempting Turquoise 5 x 2 1/2, Old Olive 5 x 1 scalloped, Pacific Point 5 x 1).  The buttons are the "old" style as I am waiting on my new buttons and I attached them with glue dots.

Box Dimensions

 I was hoping to get a quick video done for you for this video, but life has not permitted just yet:)  SO, I thought I'd share the quick written instructions since so many of you have been asking.  I appreciate the request and hope you have fun creating!

So it's 10 x 6 1/2 scored at 4 1/2 and 5 1/2 in one direction and then 1 and 5 1/2 in the other direction.  Cut along the 4 1/2 and 5 1/2 inch lines on the edges to make the tabs, punch a half circle in the front and fold the box together!  Quick and easy!

 I know it seemed like yesterday I showed the seven month page, I was late on that one:)  But yes, my little Cole is now 8 months old!  Where does the time go?  This page uses the new download of the NEW colours!  I used Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy and Whisper White.  The number is from Scoreboard (a download) and the alphabet is Jersey (a download).  The stripes were done with punches and then colour filled.  The little stars were done with the star punch and I added a few brads.  This page was QUICK and simple, but I love the final look of it!

I am a happy girl!

 Well, I like to think that I'm usually happy, but my big brown personal delivery service truck (that's what my kids call UPS...personal delivery:) came yesterday with a BOX O' FUN!!!  NEW STUFF!!!  I am so excited, it was like Christmas!  Even though I ordered it all myself, getting it is just too darn exciting!!!  If only I had a few hours to create today....we shall see considering we're having birthday fun today at my classes!!!  Anyhow, you should be seeing fresh and fun here over the next few weeks:)  (I hope:)

Today's card uses the level one hostess set Because I Care.  This really is a beautiful stamp set.  If you're interested in earning this set, you can do it by hosting a workshop!  Feel free to email me and we can chat on the details!  

Today's colours were from none other than the colour coach.....Riding Hood Red, More Mustard and Perfect Plum!  I stamped the flower in More Mustard and then using very little ink on sponge daubers, I coloured in the flower with More Mustard and Riding Hood Red and Early Espresso on the leaves.  I accented the flower with the Riding Hood Red and Early Espresso markers as well.  Don't they make gorgeous fall colours?

MDS Update and FAQ

Well, it's here!   The free download of the new colours is here!!!  So if you have purchased MDS and registered it when you loaded it on your system, you can get this FREE download!  It includes the new colours in colour, paper and DSP!  How fun is that!?!

How do you do a download?  Load up your MDS on your computer.  Go to the HELP option on the top right of the screen.  Select "check for updates" and then it will appear for you to update your program.  Make sure you have version 1.0.1 first, then do today's update.  Have fun!

Is my MDS online class still available?  YES!  Thanks for asking!  If you CLICK HERE you can learn more about it.  If you already took the class, it is still online that you can check it out for some refreshers.  If you go to www.ning.com and login you'll see the list of classes you have taken with me.

How do you get fonts into MDS? Whatever fonts you have on your computer, MDS will automatically have access to them.  So if you install some new fonts from the internet or a font disk, restart your computer after installing them and then the next time you use MDS you will have access to these fonts.

How do I know what downloads are new?  If you  CLICK HERE and "pretend to do an order" click  on Digital Crafting then Digital Downloads.  Then click on New Digital Downloads.  If you're in the actual order process of placing an order, you can also search by entering DWNLDA in the search box (this is when placing an order) and you will see a list of all the downloads that are NOT included in the initial package.

Same Set Different Take

 Here's that Apple Blossom stamp set again!  Can you see why I love it?  This one is again quick and simple.  It uses a colour combination from the NEW Colour Coach.  I have to say, this tool is AWESOME!!!  I know some of you have the old colour wheel, which was okay at the time, but this BLOWS IT OUT OF THE WATER!  It's AMAZING!  Today's colours are Old Olive, Melon Mambo and Elegant Eggplant.  Aren't they fun and bright?

I used 2 inch squares on the 4 1/4 inch card front and then just rounded two of the corners.

The dotted image on the bottom right is done with one of the stamps in the set and then I just randomly coloured some of the spots in and then covered them with Dazzling Diamonds.  Each of the squares are also popped up.  This theme and layout can be used for SO MANY stamp sets!!!  Give it a try!!!  (I dare you:)

My Attempt at Vintage

 This is one form of card making that I don't excel at.  I think that the vintage cards are so pretty and elegant, yet I struggle to create these beautiful creations.  I am inspired by so many of YOUR cards I see out in cyber space so I decided to give it a shot!  

 Here's what I came up with:

• Artistic Etchings Stamp Set with Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Marina Mist ink
• Versamark and Black Embossing Powder

Simple and Clean Card Set and a SKETCH!

 Well, maybe not popular, but I'm thankful some of you have asked for my sketches to come back!  I didn't know if they were used or taken well so it did fall by the wayside, but I'm happy to bring them back!  This week's sketch is SIMPLE!  So, to start off simply, here's this week's sketch and my interpretation.  I hope you like it!  If you'd like to play along, I'd love to have you link to my site.  (see the end of the post!)  I know it's selfish, but I learn so much and get great ideas from your sites and I appreciate your putting the effort forward.  Thank you!

 So, please tell me by now you've had time to DROOL over the beautiful new Stampin' Up! catalogue!  Isn't it amazing?  One of my favourite sets has got to be the level 2 hostess set, Apple Blossoms.  I love the simplicity of the stamp set, and it's funky look!  I can't wait to make a million and one teacher gifts with this set!  I know, I know, you think I'm nuts, but I've already started!  

I was disappointed with my lack of organization this past year and appreciation for others at times.  Emma and Mark have WONDERFUL teachers and staff at their schools and I wish I had sent more of the "token gestures" throughout the year.  So, on the last day of school I had a few minutes to myself and I came up with this little box set of cards.  Aren't they fun!  

These were QUICK to put together.  I made 6 cards and a box in about a half hour.  So, now I just have to make a little tag, wrap it up in a cellophane bag and I've got one teacher thank you done:)  Isn't that perfect!  And what teacher can't use a little "just a little note 4 u" card?  Can't wait to make more!  Here is the quick recipe:

So my two littlest munchkins had a BLAST swimming in the pool!  Nathan has started kicking and trying to "swim" which is great!  Cole is comfy in the water and enjoys being in the water as he kicks his little feet around!  I hope you have a fabulous day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Cherry Picking Time

 I love to "pick things" with the kids....strawberries, cherries, blueberries... but the only problem is we pick too much!!!  The kids could pick for hours, but then we never are able to eat all we get!  I know, I should freeze it, but I forget about that option before it's too late! 

We went cherry picking last Sunday and it was great!  Unfortunately, for our local farmers, their crop isn't as plentiful as usual because of a late frost we had.  We did make it though on the last day of picking and had lots of fun!  I think the highlight was the pitting machine for Nathan.  He wanted to pit everything, just to watch "more".  

I made the page today all in MDS.  I used the punches to create the cherries (using similar strategies to the Canada page the other day).  I hope you like it!  Have a great day!  See you again tomorrow!!!

7 months

 Well, I'm a month behind in sharing this one considering Cole is 8 months today!  Can you believe it?  8 months!!!  Isn't that crazy!  Where does the time go?  Cole is getting so big so fast!  He can move SO fast!  He is crawling everywhere, pulling himself up and walking around furniture.  He's cracked two teeth but still isn't using them:)  No food for that boy!  Once in a while he's eating banana in a little mesh baggie thing (quite gross) BUT he's eating so I won't complain!

Today's page uses the same DSP as last month's page, but I love it!  The orange DSP in Hoppy Memories is adorable and so well suited for kids!  The blue is colour matched to Cole's hat.  I decided to just keep the one photo in colour and then black and white the other ones.  The embellishments mainly all come from the Hoppy Memories Kit.

Enjoy the Journey

 This stamp set is just so fun!  I love the set Enjoy the Journey but equally as fun is the Itty Bitty Pieces set...check out the little bird and cupcake stamped on the bike.  Aren't they adorable?  They match perfectly and work well with it, don't you think?

I love the "vintage" feel to this card.  It's a start into my world of trying to make a "vintage card".  It's always fun to challenge yourself and get out of your comfort zone in creating!

Happy Canada Day MDS Tutorial

 Thanks for stopping by today!  Today I was going to do a video for you on this page but it really took WAY TOO LONG so I decided to just show you using pictures how I made a Canada flag as my background for my MDS page.  Step number one was to build the general shape of the Maple Leaf.  I used the square punch to create the different sections.  I then colour filled them in Real Red (OK, you're not seeing things...this example has different colours so you can see where I placed the punches:)

 The second step to making the Maple Leaf was to "erase" parts of the rectangle to make it look like the edges of a leaf.  I used the oval punch to "erase" the rectangles and then colour filled them in white (the same as my background paper).  If you don't want "swoopy" tops to the leaves, you could use the arrow punch to get "pointier" tips to the rectangles.  

 And then I just added a punch to the right edge to look like the edge of the flag.  The title is done using ARIAL (a standard font that I love) and the journaling is done using CK Ali's Hand.  I hope you like today's page!  Let me know if this sort of tutorial can help for all you MDSers out there (like my new noun?)

Simply Stars!

 Simply Stars....my Stampin' Up! team!  I have had a few of you email to ask me about my Stampin' Up! team so I thought I'd share a bit with you today.  My team is a group of amazing women from all over Canada that all share the LOVE of paper crafting.  We bond and share all our ideas on our downline blog.  On our blog we have videos, photos but most of all friendship!  At my last downline meeting I sat back and really enjoyed seeing this.  My downline Anne hosted the end of SU year potluck dinner.  We enjoyed some outside time and I was thrilled sitting around watching all of these fabulous ladies interact with one another!  I was sad some of our stars missed the dinner, but we still managed to have fun.

I have been a demonstrator now for six years and have gained so many things I could never imagine.  I started my journey as a demonstrator when my dad was ill.  I wanted to scrapbook some of the important highlights in his life and get his stories on paper before it was too late.  After he passed away I decided to embrace the SU opportunity and scrapbook and create.  A few years in I started to build a team, somewhat by accident.  I have been so lucky to have so many fabulous women join my team.  I love this quote that I can remember my dad sharing with me:  

Every great dream begins with a dreamer.  Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.

July Customer Appreciation

 I have had a wonderful "year" these past 12 months.  It's funny that I find myself living in the Stampin' Up! year.  This is when I set goals, evaluate them and reflect on my year gone by.  I have learned a few things about myself this past year.

1. I love to live under pressure.  Being too far ahead of the game isn't always my style.  I'm okay with last minute and find that I'm sometimes more creative this way:)
2. Four kids is way more work than three!  I know, that sounds so silly, but in a lot of ways, Cole has been my "most" work baby.  He's adorable but has given us a few challenges.  He has helped me though prioritize and realize my limits.
3. One of my biggest downfalls is getting to the post office.  I'm not sure I'm meant to ship things.  I do my best, but at times it takes me a while to actually get to the post office.  And then when I do ship things, often there are mishaps:)  SO from this I am learning to alter some of my SU plans and this leads into my July Customer Appreciation!

I would love to send each of you a card, and I do my best to get some out in the mail, but always find myself being late in this department.  I would love to thank each and everyone of you for stopping by and I hope by posting recipes and occasional videos this makes you feel appreciated.

 Happy Friday!  I hope you had a wonderful CANADA DAY, and if you're a US friend, have a great 4th of July weekend!!!  I LOVE Canada Day!  It's my Grandma's birthday and Fireworks are a blast!  I think they are one of my favourite things...along with these Gerber Daisies!  The other night my friend, Bird, brought these beautiful flowers to class.  They of course are amazing, but the tag is ADORABLE!  It is so clean and simple and I love it!

 It uses the stamp set Upsy Daisy for the greeting.  I think this is one of my favourite stamps.  Thanks Bird!!!

 wish BIG!  Isn't that a great expression!  I thought the motorcycle paired with this saying would be appropriate for a few of the "men" in my life(maybe it should have said dream BIG:)

This card is done in Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie and Bashful Blue.  I am digging this colour combination...not one I ever would have put together but this DSP is wonderful!  I'm using the retired punch, the arrow one...forget the "real" name.  I'll miss this one.

 To make this gift card holder, it's very simple.  Start with a 4 1/4 x 11 inch piece of card stock.  Score it at 4 1/4, 5 1/2 and 6 3/4.  Fold the card stock to look like the letter "M".  Use adhesive only along the edge of the card stock in the middle of the "M".  This will hold the gap shut where the gift card will go.

Then using a variety of punches (lots will work) punch out the gift card slot along the middle seam.  I used the Word Window and the 1 inch circle punch for mine.

The greeting inside the card is retired.  Greetings and verses are one thing I don't sell when they retire.  I figure you can never have enough words, and to me it's more important to have the "right" words for a card rather than "non-retired" words (if that makes any sense:)
