OK, I'm so excited about this! I know it probably doesn't seem like much to you, but I was thrilled with this idea and term when I did my class the other night. I love to make the 3x3 cards but let's be honest, they aren't always practical. SO, why not take the term progressive scrapbooking (start with a 6x6 page and create a 12x12 layout) and apply it to card making? Start with a 3x3 card and make a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card? FUN!!!!
So, that's what I've done with this last embellishment card! The theme for this card is the Pretties Kit using the half back pearls. The video quickly demonstrates this, but what is more important here is how I then took this 3x3 and made it QUICKLY into a standard card. This can be done with all the cards I demoed over the past week! Can you tell I'm giddy?
Now, here's a challenge for you! Can you create a 3x3 card and then make it a standard size using this Progressive card making idea? If so, please leave me a comment with a link to a sample on your blog and I'll draw a winner on Sunday night from this challenge AND one from my weekly sketch challenge! Thanks so much for playing along!
Here is a video for you for today!
Hope you have a WONDERFUL day and I'll see you again tomorrow!
Take care,
Heather

Very cute! I love the progressive scrapbook pages and cards are perfect too. I tried to do this a while back with the many trading card sized card fronts I had gotten through several swaps. It is even cuter with your 3x3 cards.
TFS!

I finally got my cards done. Pretty much exactly your cards with a few changes to reflect the supplies I had on hand. I am loving the vintage look. At first I was not sure about the brigtness of the saffron ribbon, but I love it now. Here is the link:

Heather this is absolutely brilliant! I would have never thought to do this. I love 3x3s but how fabulous is it to take one of my little notecards and step it up when I'm in need of a really quick card!!! Here's the link to my card. I hope you like it!

What a cool idea. I love it! I don't remember the progressive scrapbooking trend, so this technique is all new to me. I must rush around and make something like it. :D

Heather, love your blog! I had a 3 1/4" x 3 1/4" card started so I made a progressive card around it. Thanks for sharing the idea. Tonya

Heather, I visit you every day and enjoy your videos very much!
Imagine how excited I was when I saw that you are starting to do progressive cards. I have been doing what I call "good, better and best" cards on my blog lately. I love it. Its a little different idea than what you are doing but along the same lines. I would love you to visit me sometime and leave a comment so I know you were there!

BRILLIANT!! What a great idea Heather! I am so excited by the progressive card concept as I love to make 3x3 cards too and have found them to be a bit impractical to mail. This is one of those "why didn't I think of that?" moments, but.....that is why I visit your blog every morning, to see all the great ideas you come up with!
Bless you for being such a sharer!

Beautiful card Heather! Very vintage. I do like how you converted the 3x3 to a 41/2 x 51/2. Good challenge!
