What do you think of the title? I didn't know what to name this template so this will have to do:) I came up with this after my son received a birthday invitation in a similar style. His had two sliders so I thought I could come up with one with three. And truthfully, you could follow the same template and have a million tiers (or 34, right mom?)
I thought that this card style would be super sweet for a photo card, a birth announcement, an invitation, a gift card holder or simply a wow surprise greeting.
I used the Sweet Pea DSP for this card and watercoloured in Dusty Durango, Pumpkin Pie, Bermuda Bay, Taken with Teal, Apricot Appeal, More Mustard, Night of Navy and Not Quite Navy. I think this has got to be one of my favourite cards I've ever made and I think a lot of this is the colour combinations.
The stamps I used on this card are Tote-ally Tess, Owl Together, Party Hearty and the new SAB set with the Birthday greeting. I did a lot of masking for the balloons and when stamping, I basically only stamped the top of the balloon and then drew the strings on with a black marker.
I will write the dimensions of this card here on my post but I do encourage you to check out the video as the dimensions will be easier to understand. I have not included the layers of watercolour paper and cardstock dimensions here, but you can just make yours to fit. I do recommend making this in DSP as there are nine layers of paper just to make the shell of this card and that would be REALLY thick if you use SU cardstock.
TOP LAYER: 3 x 9 3/8 scored at 3 1/8 and 6 3/8
MIDDLE LAYER: 3 3/8 x 10 1/4 scored at 3 3/8 and 6 7/8. You need to create two slits on the one end (doesn't matter which end) that are 2 inches long and begin 3/8 of an inch from the top of the DSP and are 1 1/2 inches apart. The first slit is 7/8 of an inch from the 6 7/8 score line. (again, this may make more sense if you check out the video)
BOTTOM LAYER: 4 1/2 x 11 5/8 scored at 3 7/8 and 7 3/4. You need to create two slits on the one end (doesn't matter which end) that are 2 1/2 inches long and begin 5/8 of an inch from the top of the DSP and are 1 3/4 inches apart. The first slit is 1 of an inch from the 7 3/4 score line.
I hope you enjoy today's card and give it a try! It actually comes together really quickly! Have fun and enjoy your Friday!
Take care,
Heather

Heather, I love this card! I've been playing around with some that I've made over the last couple days. Last night I tried to make one that could be a gift card holder. I used the slit punch on a piece of cardstock and put it on the second tier. It didn't really work out tho. Have you made one with a gift card holder on one of the tiers? If so, any tips?

Hi Heather, I love this card! I have never seen one like it before, what a creation you have made. I really like the color combo. The recipient is going to think that this card is really tricky and quite hard to make, not to say labor intensive as well, but we know better. Thanks for sharing, and I can't wait until I am able to make this type of card. Once again, You Rock Baby!
