Stamp with Heather

Hawaii Idea #1

There are always lots of WOW factors at an SU event.  One of my favourite presenters is Brent Steel.  He is the lead designer/creator for the catalogue (I don't know his exact title) BUT he is just a riot!  He was a little nervous during the Incentive Trip and his hands would not stop shaking during his presentation!  But it didn't take away from it at all and I loved what he made.  One of his ideas was similar to this butterfly. 

The butterfly is stamped in Rose Red on Pink Pirouette cardstock.  Then I took the SU hobby blade and cut around the outside of the butterfly and didn't quite go all the way around.  At the top and bottom of the middle of the butterfly I left the paper attached.  Then I folded up the wings and you can see the cardstock underneath!  How smart is that!?!?  I was pretty happy when I saw this demonstrated.

This card uses the new stamp set (available tomorrow in the NEW mini catalogue!) called Good Friend.  The inside of the card showcases a few more of the stamps in the set.

The actual greeting says "You're a friend who makes good times great".  I used the marker on the other stamp "for you" and made my greeting say "you make good times great."

The ribbon is done using Sticky Strip.  I laid it across the backside of the ribbon and then just accordian folded the ribbon all the way across the card front.

Demonstrator Event

I do appologize for the tardiness of my post today!  Where has the last 24 hours gone.....not sleeping them away!!!  They aren't kidding when they say jet lag kicks in 2 days later!  Not complaining though:)

About two and a half weeks ago now I hosted a demonstrator night for demonstrators across Ontario and even from Michigan!  These are the cards we made for that event.

Each demonstrator that came received a precut package of supplies for the 4 cards and box and the SoHo Hardward to match.  The DSP we used was Urban Oasis and the colours for the cards were all Baja Breeze,   Basic Gray, Basic Black and Kiwi Kiss.  The stamps were none other than Fifth Avenue Floral.

If you have not used the SU hardware before you are missing out!  It is so easy to use and they are very fun.  Now for all you people that don't "share" their SU products, this may not be a product for you....although they'd look super cute sitting up on a shelf somewhere looking down at you while you stamp:)

This last card I'm showing today is a favourite of mine just because of the way it opens.  I love the little backwards fold flippy thing (that's really what it is called:)  Well, I hope your week is off to a great start!  I'm excited to prep for my next Simply Punches class (starts on Wednesday!)  I'm done a few of the creations and am having way too much fun!!!!

I'm back!!!

The only word to sum up my trip to Hawaii is WOW!!!!  Stampin' Up! sure knows how to host amazing events and treat their demonstrators well!  I can't believe a week has come and gone!  Sandra (Adam's sister) and I had a GREAT time together, with Stampin' Up!

Where to begin?  I'd have to say the most amazing part was the scenery and nature.  We saw so much wildlife I was amazed....whales, dolphins, birds, fish, lizards, mongoose and so much more!

These photos sum up what we saw.  I don't have to many photos of what we did as we relaxed, hiked, relaxed, walked, relaxed and relaxed!

Stampin' Up! also hosted traditional Hawaiian Luau!  This was amazing as there were traditional dances, crafts and the atmosphere was so fun!

Anyhow, thanks for holding down the fort while I was away!  I'm looking forward to being back!

Mens Class

I love hosting classes for "manly cards".  I like the challenge of coming up with appropriate and fun ones.  However, this new stamp set from the mini catalogue sure doesn't make it hard!  It is so sweet and fun!  Even if your man isn't a golfer, this still makes for a great man card.  Details will follow soon with the next man class, but for now here is a sample using the new stamp set from the upcoming mini.

The colour combinations for this card are Riding Hood Red, More Mustard, Pacific Point and Kiwi Kiss.

The ball is one of the new brads, a little big but still fun!

Another share.....

Here is another sweet little gift from my PreRegionals Event.  My new friend Betty-Ann from Bright's Grove made me this!  Isn't it just too sweet!!!  I absolutely love it!  She sent me the link to this pattern (which I'll find again for you) so you too can make this.  And of course my kids enjoyed the chocolate inside!  Thank you Betty-Ann!

This tin looks so fun on the outside, the colours are great and it's so springy.  BUT wait until you see the inside...I think my eyeballs popped out!!!! 

Keri Blake made this for the wow 3D swap.  Isn't the tin colour just so fun!

Anyhow, in the inside of the tin she put together these check lists for all the colour families....is that not ADORABLE and a fun way to organize all your "stuff".  I think this would be fabulous for customers to keep track of their inventory as well!

I miss them...

     Yes, I'm having a BLAST in Hawaii but I do miss my little munchkins (and my big one...Adam!)  I'm not sure I said anything but I'm in Hawaii with Adam's sister (FUN!!!!)  He couldn't get the time off work (one of the downfalls to being a teacher!)  So, I knew by the end of the week I'd be missing them and this card would be appropriate.

This stamp set is from the upcoming mini catalogue.  I eyed it FOREVER and really wanted to get it for this one stamp...the three little rubber boots!  I love little wellies and this is perfect, a pair for Emma, Mark and Nathan!  I didn't order it on my preorder but I was lucky enough to get it at Regionals....how fun is that!?!?!

This card is very simple.  I used Riding Hood Red, More Mustard and Not Quite Navy.  Everything is sponged in Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip.  The greeting is from the Chit Chat rubons and the DSP is from Good Morning Sunshine!

Upsy Daisy

This card was inspired by a card demonstrated at Regionals a few weeks back here in London.  Shannon demostrated the circle cutter (which I LOVE!) and showed a card very similar to this.  Rather than using the large grommet though she used a clear button with a rub on.  I'm happy with the finished product and have to say the circle cutter was a FABULOUS investment!

Game Night!

How fun is this???  When I hosted the demonstrator meeting/social the night before Regionals I was spoiled rotten!  So many sweet demonstrators shared their projects with me (aren't I lucky!!!!)

This is one of them!  Cheryl Fisher from Toronto made this super sweet and fun tin!  My Grandma would go crazy for this one (she LOVES Bridge!)

The outside of the tin is made using the Game Night Stamp Set and the matching fun DSP!  Don't you just love the little cards she made for the front...and how the corners are rounded!?!?  She thought of everything!

For the inside of the tin, there is a layer of DSP on the left side and then the Bridge score pad on the right. 

I think I am going to make this for my Grandma and all her Bridge friends as a little "thinking of you gift".

The Stamp-a-ma-jig!

I love the Stamp-a-ma-jig....but I forget about it!  When I use it, I use it all the time, and get perfect stamping on my first try!  When I forget about it, well.....it takes a lot of guess work and I'm not always happy.

With the stamp set Trendy Trees, I think you have to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig or cut out the pieces and put them together.  So, I figured I'd do a class using the Stamp-a-ma-jig.

This card is done using Almost Amethyst, Elegant Eggplant and Going Gray.  The butterflies are stamped in Almost Amethyst and the leaf spring is stamped using Elegant Eggplant (and the stamp-a-ma-jig!)

She's CRAZY!!! Yes, my mother!

I know that you have seen my mom's cards on my blog before and I have to say she is VERY talented.  I love the effort, love and time she puts into EVERY card!  There is no such thing as whipping up a card at my mom's house (that's what she comes to my classes for:)  Her cards take her hours and hours and even days to create!  This card is NO exception!

Nathan (and I) LOVE the Wiggles!  His birthday theme was Wiggles (thanks to Barb!)  Anyhow, this is what my mom created for Nathan.  The road is the Rockabilly DSP.  The car was photocopied alldifferent colours of cardstock and then cut out.  The Wiggles were run off on Blush Blossom and then coloured in using the SU markers.  The grass is from Inspired by Nature on Kiwi Kiss and then the sun has Happy Birthday stamped around the build-a-brad!  Isnt' that AMAZING!?!?!?!

So, the outside of the card is WOW, WOW, WOW!  But check out the inside!!!!!  She used the new Choo-Choo stamp set and matching wheel from the upcoming mini catalogue.  The "two two" is done with chipboard letters.  The circles are cut using the amazing circle cutter!  Then, here comes the fun part.....the bobbing Wiggles!  My mom has Wags, Dorothy and Henry on the inside of the card moving around on acetate coming out from the middle of the card.  This was shown to us at Regionals by a very talented Ally!  I can't wait to share this with you in an upcoming class!  And again, these guys were photocopied on coloured cardstock, coloured and layered!  Isn't Nathan the luckiest little boy around?  Now I have to convince my mom to make a matching scrapbook page for him!  Speaking of the sweet little munchkin, here is a picture of him from his birthday!  Thanks for stopping by today!  Today's BINGO number is A33.

This is just a quick little post today!  My baby turns 2....where does the time go????  I can't believe Nathan is already 2!!!! 

This card is in honour of him today!  Hope you like it!  The layout was inspired by a card in Paper Crafts this month.  The stamp set is Crazy for Cupcakes. 

The cupcakes are coloured in using Tempting Turquoise and Chocolate chip and then the icing was coloured with the two way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds.  The cherries have a little spot of Crystal Effects on them.

Mother Daughter Class

Good morning to you!  Hope you're enjoying your week!  For those of us that are local we're off this week for our spring break!  AND we couldn't ask for better weather!  It's been sunny and warmish, which is a great change!

Well, this little creation is one of the projects we will be making at my mother/daughter class in April.  This class is limited to six couples (you can be a mom, a neighbour, aunt, grandma....doesn't matter just bring along a younger version and have a fun night!)  We will be making this sweet little box and hair clip at this class as well as a few other 3D items and a card!

Lucky Duck!

Back to my new favourite stamp set....Wagon Full of Fun!  Is this duck not just squeezable and loveable?  I love the image!  I makes for a sweet card!

The card today is done using Pacific Point, Chocolate Chip and Summer Sun.....and of course what DSP goes with this....none other than Good Morning Sunshine!

The image is stamped on watercolour paper and coloured in using ink pads and the aqua painter.

It's BEAUTIFUL!

Hello Spring!  I hope I haven't jinxed it but today is ABSOLUTELY amazingly BEAUTIFUL here today!  And as much as Adam was willing to amuse the kids today so I could have some stamping time, I couldn't do it!  I HAD to go outside!  So, there isn't a video today but I do have a card to share!

This card is 4x4 and is made using the new stamp set Wagon FUll of Fun!  Isn't that cupcake just too darn cute!?!? I love it!!!!

The DSP is Rasperry Tart and the colours are Rose Red, Cameo Coral and Kiwi Kiss!

Thanks so much to one of my wonderful downline's, Dale, (that's her in the picture with me!)!  She so kindly took a picture of the barn while at Regionals!  So, this means I can share it with you now instead of 8 weeks from now when I find the time to make it again:)

This is a fun box that I just covered in strips of Riding Hood Red Cardstock, with the edges sponged in Close to Cocoa ink.  The "roof" is made with Chocolate Chip cardstock.  It's fairly straight forward and simple to hold the sweet little farm animals.

Regionals

This is a long post, so grab a coffee and enjoy!  First off, this weekend has been AMAZING!!!!  It was Regionals for Stampin' Up!  We were so fortunate to have Dale (from Head Office in Calgary), Linda, Lori and Shannon from Utah and so many other Stampin' Up! members come here to London! 

To start the weekend I hosted a demonstrator night which was so much fun!  60 ladies got together, we ate, crafted, chatted and just had fun!  It was a great way to get to meet so many of you!  I wish I had   more time to chat with you but I loved learning so much from so many of you, so thank you!  I hope you choose to keep in touch.  I was also spoiled rotten by so many fine demonstrators that shared their talent and projects with me over the course of the weekend....yes, I'll be sharing those projects!  I will also be sharing the make and take projects we did on Friday night with you this week.

Now, today was the BIG event!  My FABULOUS team members, Simply Stars(see the first photo....isn't that a GREAT looking bunch of ladies?!?!), gathered bright and early (apparently too early for me as I slept in and Shannon had to call to wake me up.....) so we could all come in together!  For the most part the 30 of us sat together and enjoyed such a fun day!  We had make and take projects that are amazing (but I'll be honest, I didn't make one....yet!), great wow demonstrations from local demos, a yummy lunch, business tips and of course amazing projects from SU!  Thank you ladies for making this so amazing!  Let me explain the second photo to you....that's my wonderful friend Barb!  She is amazingly talented at stamping but is an even better friend.  As much as I love her, we're not holding hands or fighting over the coffee....I'm really not sure what's going on here!

I was quite honoured when Lori called me last week asking if I would do a wow presentation.  After chatting with her for a few minutes I knew right away what I could demonstrate....punched animals!  So, this is what I showed today.

I have to say that the little bums made me quite happy!  I also demonstrated quickly how to make your own envelopes to size and a little barn box (that I didn't take a picture of!!!)  I'll just have to make another one!

CRAZY for Cupcakes!

How appropriate!  I just had my wonderful friend Tara and her family over for lunch and she kindly brought cupcakes!  Isn't that sweet!  Nathan LOVES cup-a-cakes, actually just the icing.  So I thought I'd share a card today that is a quick and easy birthday card using a cupcake!

This card is done using the Coluzzle for the ovals.  The stamp is from Crazy for Cupcakes and I coloured them in using Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and a Real Red cherry.  The icing was then covered in Dazzling Diamonds.  The DSP is Good Morning Sunshine.

Thinking of You....Thought and Prayers

Here is last of the cards from my Thoughts and Prayers stamp set class.  It uses the stamp set Thoughts and Prayers.  I used markers to ink up the stamp before stamping.

The DSP is Parisian Breeze.  The greeting is punched out of the large oval and then mounted on the curly label punch.  This is then dimensionaled (is that a word?) on the card front.

Wagon Full of FUN!

You can say that again!  I have myself a new favourite stamp set!  I am IN LOVE!!!!  This set is beyond cute and you are going to see a "bazillion" cards made with this over the next little while!  It has SO much potential....just picture any of the sweet little punched animals riding in the back of the wagon...how cute would that be?  Or a photo of your child hanging out the back!  ENDLESS possiblities!

I just had to make this card today in HOPES of no snow today (they are calling for it....can you believe it!?!?!)  I thought it would be nice and Springy!  Also, I accepted a challenge from Monika to mae a card using only one colour family!  And I did it (except for the piece of   So Saffron Cardstock I stamped the greeting on:)  Everything else is done using Earth Elements (oh yeah, and the Kiwi Kiss grass....maybe I should reattempt this challenge!!!)

I saw  this card posted on Splitcoast and just fell in love.  I love what Judi did with the layout of her card so it totally inspired my rendition!  Thank you!!!

Fundraiser Update!

Well happy weekend to you all!  I hope all is well for you!  I am so excited to almost be done with last weekend's fundraiser!  We had so much fun with over 150 women stamping away to raise money for a wonderful cause....Pediatric Cancer and Cole Petrie!  If you want to read an amazing story about a boy that is full of joy and sparkle and parents that are strong and thankful CLICK HERE and you can learn a little bit more about Cole and about Neuroblastoma.

Totally Tool Take Two (that's a lot of Ts!!!)

In the meantime, here is a card I made for my most wonderful neighbour.  We are so lucky to have great neighbours!  There is a retired couple that live on one side of us and he LOVES to putter.  He's always doing something....and sometimes we are lucky enough to be at the receiving end of his generosity.  So to thank him we made some cookies and this card to go along with it.    

The card is meant to look like a peg board.  I used my paper piercing tool and mat pack to get the dots evenly spaced apart.  The silver brads are in all the spots that "show" (none are under the tools).  The tools are attached with these brads and nothing else so they can move on the card.

I stamped the images in Basic Brown on watercolour paper and then coloured them in with the SU markers.  I love colouring on watercolour paper!!!!  I thought this greeting was perfect for the card as well!  Hope you like it!

Tool Time

I told you a few weeks back I was just dying to scrapbook these funny pictures of Nathan.  They just crack me up everytime I look at them!  I am thrilled with the stamp set and am pleased with the final outcome of the page.

The colours I used are Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip.  The vertical border strip was done simply by stamping the images in Basic Brown on Vanilla and watercolouring in the tools.  The matching saw is at the bottom with the title "time" added to it.

The journaling I did on the computer on our regular cardstock.  The pumpkin and pacific papers are textured.  I love the new brads SU is offering....chocolate!!!  I can't believe I used five on the one page!!!!  I'm getting so much better at using my stuff!

The last part worth pointing out is the title.  I used the Big Shot and cut it out of cork!  How fun is that!?!?!

A Cup of Joe

Sip by Sip is such a fun stamp set.  I'm a coffee addict so this set was a must have!  I love the little mugs in it and the "thanks a latte".  It's just a fun one to have and use! 

In saying this today's card is meant to resemble a coffee cup.....the crimped paper around the outside is the recycled hand grip a lot of coffee shops use!  Anyhow, I'm thrilled with the final result and hope that you like it to!

Fifth Avenue Butterfly

This stamp set is so pretty and unbelievably easy to use.  With a simple variety of a few ink colours (I used Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss and Basic Gray) you have a beautiful design.  I'll be sharing with you the cards I made at my Soho Fashion District class last night.

Check out the hardware....isn't it GREAT!!!!  I love it AND even more importantly will share it and not just hoard it!!!  Amazing, eh?

I really like this stamp set (can you tell?)  I keep forgetting to tell you fine ladies that the Designer Series Paper is Parisian Breeze and is actually thick like cardstock.  It has great texture and is a lot stronger.

This is my old "stand by" layout.  The greeting is popped up with dimensionals.

Prayers for You

Well happy Monday morning to you!  Hope you had a great weekend!  It was busy around our house but lots of fun! 

Today's card is another one I did last week at my Sympathy card class.  I really like this stamp set and can't wait to share more cards with you.  It's a beautiful set to emboss.

This card is very simply, with clean lines.  The paper piercing is done using the classy brass template and then the greeting is stamped on Kraft, punched out using the large oval and then there are dimensionals popping it up.

Fifth Avenue Floral

Happy Sunday Morning to you!  Today's the day....my Simply Punches online class begins.  I've had a few of you email to ask if you're too late.  NO!!!  You can sign up at any time.  You don't have to check the site daily, at the end of the 20 days, you'll have access to all the files, videos and photos until the end of June!  Thanks for asking!

This stamp set is fun and funky!  It wasn't #1 on my list, but I am so excited that I now have it!  It is simple, yet elegant.  And you can totally modify the stamps by colouring them in if you want more depth to the flowers.  Hope you like this card!  It's one of the cards we will be making on Tuesday at my Soho Fashion Card Class (email me for details is you're interested!)  Thanks and have a wonderful Sunday!
