Hey Chickie....and Punch Class

Well Happy Saturday to you!  I have had such an amazing weekend, I have to share before I get to yes, another punch creation.  Let me start with a HUGE thank you to my amazing "Simply Stars" team members, my family and all the amazing ladies that attended the Pediatric Fundraiser last night!  It was such a fun event, we raised a lot of money for a great cause (I'll announce the total later this week once everything is finalized) and I can't wait to do it again!!!  Thank you!!!

Then today is a "proud mommy and aunt day".  Emma and Mark (my two oldest), Karen and Monica (my nieces) all participated in their first wrestling tournament.  they have been working really hard since September and today we had a tournament in Cambridge.  They did AMAZING!!!  I couldn't believe how hard they worked, (how cute they were), how tough they were and just how well they listened to their coaches instructions!  You will definately be seeing some scrapbook pages coming up with the kids and their medals!!!  (Yes, Emma was second, Mark was first and Monica was first.  Karen was amazing as she was a complete rookie and scored fifth in a tough weight class with very experienced wrestlers!)  Ok, thanks for letting me brag!

Thinking of You....and a Big Day!

Well, guess what!?!?!  Today is the BIG day!!!!  It's fundraiser day!  I am so excited for tonight's event!  We are going to have over 100 ladies stamping away like crazy for a WONDERFUL cause!  Thank you to all of you that are supporting our event or ordered a kit.  I do have some extra kits available for anyone that may be interested. 

In the meantime, here is today's card!  On this rainy morning I thought a little pick me up or a thinking of you would help!  It's exciting to see the green grass, just not the puddles:)  This card was done for my Sympathy card class the other night.  Here is the video as well:

Thoughts of You....are happy thoughts!

I really like the level three hostess set, Goody Goody Gumdrops from this current SU catalogue.  It has some wonderful images (like the duck and the ice cream sundae).  I love this little owl and the expressions are really simple and sweet. 

For this card I used a hodgepodge of supplies.  It was sortof whatever I had laying around or matched.  The colours are Pacific Point, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss.

On this card I used some Good Morning Sunshine DSP (LOVE it!), the Daisies #2 Big Shot die, Chocolate Cord button, Pacific Point ribbon, watercolour paper and the rest is self explanatory!  Hope you like the card and enjoy the video.

Hoppy Memories and a Sympathy Card

Today is a double post!  I have a card and video for you as well!  This is one of the cards I am making tonight in my sypathy card class.  I really like the stamp set Thoughts and Prayers.  There are some very nice sentiments and the tree and flower sprig are very elegant and pretty.

i loaf you

I really like this level one hostess set - comfort foods.  I think the sayings are pretty cute to go along with the stamps!  They are also fun and easy to colour in! 

I have been wanting to try my texture plates, and for some reason havn'e played with them until today!  Well, they are FUN!!!!  I've done a quick little introduction of them on my video today.  Hope you're enjoying some sunshine!  It's bright (but cold!) here!

Oh, a few of you have asked me about my punches.  I dont' have a full punch list of what I am using for my punch class but I will tell you the following punches are the most used:

1 3/4 inch circle, 1 3/8 circle, 1 1/4 circle, 1 inch circle, 1/2 circle, large oval, small oval, wide oval and trio flower punch

Wild About You!

I have to start this post by asking you to watch the video.  If for no other reason than to see Nathan in action.  It was so cute!  He came running in my craft room when I was finishing up this card.....and that's all I'm going to tell you!

This card/video uses masking and the rock'n'roll technique.  It's a fun stamp set to do both of these techniques with.  Hope you like it!

Totally Tool is Totally Cool!

I am so excited about this stamp set!  It wasn't first on my list with the new catalogue but I keep dreaming up creations for this set so I can't wait for it to arrive (I think maybe tomorrow:)  I just think is has so many possibilities for manly cards, with and without the greetings!

So, I thought I'd offer a special this week for this set:

  I can't wait to share with you the scrapbook page I will be making for this photo of Nathan.  Is he not too adorable?  He was helping Adam with the basement and just loved the little tools (tape measure, glasses and pencil!)

Marvelous, Wonderful, Beautiful

These words are PERFECT to describe my weekend!  I know this sounds so very selfish BUT Adam and I had the best weekend, we were kidless!  The kids went to my mom's and spent two nights having a blast (I'm not sure who had more fun, the kids or Gramma and Grampa!)  and Adam and I had the house to ourselves.  Can I tell you how quiet it was?!?!  Now, I did miss them (sortof) but I knew they were in great hands so we just enjoyed ourselves....breakfast out, naps, sleeping in, dinners out....what fun!!!  So this card sums it up!  Now in saying all this I will appologize (kindof) for being a little slower at getting back to your emails and not posting BUT I think I'm all caught up now and ready for a new week!

I'd like to start my post today answering a few questions I've had and also by thanking you!  I am SO excited about the overwhelming response I've had to the onlinepunch class!  It is going to be so much fun and I am thrilled so many of you are participating!

1.  ANYONE can take this class.  You can live ANYWHERE in the world.  You don't have to own all the punches! 

2.  Yes, for sure you can use the PDFs and ideas in your own business as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  The purpose of this class is to have fun and to help with your business if it can!

3.  Yes, you can make these cards and sell them by the millions if you like:)

4.  No you don't have to go to the online class everyday.  Each day I will post a new video/project/PDF for you to view.  BUT they will stay up in the classroom for three months so you can access them at your convenience (even in your jammies!)

5.  No, the videos will not be posted on You Tube.  They will be posted directly to the Simply Punches website so only those registered for the class will have access.

Now, onto today's post!  I love this stamp set.  It's new to this catalogue and it just makes me smile!  I love the little dog driving the jeep...too cute!  I also love it because you can watercolour it, but this is a set that you don't have to be perfect at colouring to make it look great!  It's meant to be sloppy!  So have fun with it!  Another great reason for loving the card....it's very manly!

Simply Punches online Class!

I am so excited to share with you my new online class!  This has been an exciting new addition to my business, my customers are excited,  and we are having a ton of fun!  PUNCHES!!!!!  I love them and always have.  I have been sharing with you lots of different punched creations over the past few months on my cards and in my videos.  So, I've decided to start an online punch class!  It's as simple as this:

Simply Punches

20 Days (March 1 to March20)

1 punched creation per day

20 videos

20 PDFs (a typed version that you can print on making each punched creation)

20 photos

for only $20!!!!

This will be an online class.  You will receive an email on March 1st inviting you to Simply Punches.  You will register, I will approve you and then you are joining in on all the fun with punches!  Each punched creation will also be "on" something....possibly a 3D item, a card, a scrapbook page.....  Dimensions, supply lists are all included.  If you are a Stampin' Up! demonstrator you are welcome to use these for your classes or to create an upcoming club for your customers (they will LOVE you and the projects....just think your next 10 months of club are planned for only $20!!!!)  If you are a customer in my punched club, these will all be different creations than what we are making in class.

*You guys had some great questions:  The classroom will be open for three months so you will be able to access all videos and PDFs for three months, print them off and get what you need.  So you do not have to go to the "classroom" each day.  Anyone, anywhere can join this class as it is only a service and not product.  A template will be provided at the beginning of class on punches so if you don't have them all there will be support for you.*

Well, I do love this stamp set!!!  It is just too cute for words!  I'm not sure if it's because spring may just be coming or because the colours are too fun, but I love the Good Morning DSP and this set together!

Anyhow, this card is one I did for my card class.  I like the little speech bubble from the Tweet little bird!  Anyhow, here's a video for you today to show you all about it:

On a side note....guess what!?!?  I just had a great thing happen in my day today.  If you're not sure an RAK is a random act of kindness.  Nathan and I were going to Tim Horton's this morning (before heading onto Home Depot!) and the car in front of me paid for my order!!!!  I have no idea who it is but I was so touched and wowed by this!  Can you believe it!?!?  It just put a happy smile on my face and made me realize that we each have the capability to do this for someone, anyone!  So, I encourage you to do an RAK today, tomorrow or in the near future!  You'll make someone's day!

Page 90/91 Thank You!

I know, I know, page 90/91!!!!  I love these pages in the catalogue, they just make me smile!  I LOVE the sets, the colours and just everything about them!

So I decided to make a card using Good Friend (but not using the Bird!)  I wanted to use teh super sweet flower that comes in the set.  With a little bit of glitter it's just TOO fun!

Just love this colour combination....Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip!  The Good Morning Sunshine DSP really does a great job on using these colours (it's my new favourite DSP....maybe, just maybe even better than Rockability AKA Rockabilly!)

I didn't come up with the fold for this card but I do have to say I love it!  What a fun way to create interest in a card.  It would be perfect to write your message on the inside flap and then have a gift card or a photo on the very inside of the card! 

The floating flowers are stamped in Kiwi Kiss (but stamped off so it is lighter).  The THANKS is punched using the Word Window Punch and layered onto the Large Oval.  This greeting is then popped up on the card front.

I did the same images on the inside of the card as well....too fun!  Well, I hope you enjoy your Family Day!  We're off to the movies (we'll see how Nathan does with that one!!!)

Happy Birthday Mom!

Friday was my mom's birthday but we had her little party last night!  It was so much fun and so nice to have a family evening together.  Emma picked the theme to be butterflies so I figured we'd make it a Big Shot butterfly party!!! 

To start off with we cut out a ton of the butterflies from the SU Big Shot Butterfly die.  They are SO cute!  I have to say I wasn't sure of this die to begin with and I am SO glad I have it!  It is so fun, and can be so pretty!  We used Coral, Rose Red, Kiwi Kiss and Pink Pirouette.  Then we wrapped a couple of candles I have from Winter Wheat in the Raspberry Tart DSP.

The we decorated the chandelier.  We wrapped the DSP on the metal tubes leading up to the light in the Raspberry Tart Paper. 

The butterflies are all stamped with Baroque Motifs and then I used the half pearls from the Pretties Kits on them randomly positioned for some appeal.

We also dangled three butterflies from the light to make them look like they are fluttering about.  We dangled them with fishing line and the butterflies on the light are attached with Dotto.

We made a beautiful banner that I will share later this week with you.  I didn't get a very good picture of it yesterday so I will wait to share this.

Then we did a little "craft" (what's a party without a craft?)  We made sugar cookies and then my mom and step dad, the kids, Adam and I decorated them up with Royal Icing, silver balls, sprinkles and.....of course, butterflies!  These were lots of fun to make (and eat:)  Don't they look fun?  They did such a great job decorating up these cookies!

Now, what's a party without a treat bag/box?  Emma decided to make Chocolate Covered Almonds boxes (Gramma's FAVS).  We used the new box die from SU (LOVE it!!!!), the Raspberry Tart DSP, some butterflies, pearls and banners and voila....quick, easy and elegant treat boxes!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

I love Valentine's Day!  What a fun day to remind those around you how much you care!!!  My mom's birthday is Feb. 13 (yes, and she LOVES it when it's on a Friday) so I usually get to spend my Valentine's Day with my family which makes it even more fun!!!  So I appologize for the late post but between stamping her "birthday decor", groceries, cooking and life I'm finally on the computer today!!!  If you've emailed I will get to them tomorrow...I'm in computer withdrawal for the past 48 hours!!!

These super sweet treats were for my kids today for Valentine's Day.  They love little packages, especially Emma.  They like to use them after they eat their treats for little annoying trinkets that they treasure and just can't part with (you know the Kleenex with their favourite drawing on it, the tape ball they are in the process of making.....please say your kids do this too!)

Anyhow, I hope you like them!  Have yourself a WONDERFUL weekend!

A Morning Segment

Ever have one of those cards...

Well, this was one!  I had this really fun idea on my head and when I tried to make it come alive, well...it didn't quite happen!  But, in saying that I'm happy with the end result and I think it's cute but not exactly what I had planned!

This is a cute stamp set with some witty sayings and some cute little coffee mugs!  I'm in the middle of doing another project with this set and I love the mugs!!!  It's amazing that a little tiny image and a bit of ink can make us happy!

Darling Dots Thank You

Happy Wednesday Morningn to you!  It is MISERABLE outside today but mild!  I think the "lake" at the bottom of my driveway doubled over night (that'd be the HUGE puddle in the ever sinking driveway...oh the joys!)  Anyhow, I have a quick Springy Thank You card to share today.  If looking outside doesn't brighten your day, maybe this will!

The colours on this card are Apricot Appeal, Certainly Celery and Pretty in Pink.  The video will give you dimensions and all the little details.  I am really happy with the way the tone on tone flowers went with the Pretty in Pink layer....subtle and soft!

Anyhow, I hope you have a wonderful day!  I'm off to prepare for none other than the Good Friend class tonight....(are you excited Bird?)

A Morning Show...

What a fun day!  It started BRIGHT And EARLY!!!  I was on A Morning this morning at 7:20.  BUT to be on at 7:20, I have to be there at 6:20....for those of you that know me, I am NOT a morning person so this was brutal!  It was a lot of fun though.  It's amazing what we make in a five minute segment!  Jeremy made a box and a book mark and we chatted.....the miracles of TV!

Although I don't teach all the things you see on TV I make all sorts of other samples so when the camera scans across you can see a sea of pinks and reds.  (Today' show was Valentine's)

Family Accessories Too!

Well, I think with the great deal that Stampin' Up! offered before Christmas on the All in the Family Bundle, I think we all own this fabulous stamp set!!!  And how excited was I when I saw the new catalogue to see a new accessories kit to go with it???  That was one of my must have sets....I had a few of them!

The perfect marriage.....

Seriously I am not sure why I have never done this before.  I know that Just Jawing isn't everyone's favourite stamp set (BUT I like it......!)  So, the other day I pulled it out to play with and guess what....Perfect Princess and Just Jawing make the perfect match!  The crown is just so cute on top....don't you think????

Not only that I'm using the new DSP Rockabilly (although I think Rockability sounds better:)  This paper is YUMMY!!!!!  One side of the DSP is textured and glossy which is just so fun.

Cheep Talk Thank You!

Alright, I'm back to the best pages in the catalogue...page 90 and 91.  It's an ongoing "joke" with many of my stamping friends, but in all honesty, these pages make me quite happy!!!  The colours, the stamps, Stampin' Up! just wowed me with this one!!!  LOVE THEM!

This card uses the new eyelet punch which is super fun.  I find it even easier to use than the scallop edge punch as well.  Can't wait to play with it and put brads in the holes, eyelets, Crystal Effects....the possibilities are ENDLESS!

The colours on this card are So Saffron, Pacific Point and Kiwi Kiss. 

Yesterday's card had a few questions so I'll answer those before I post the video.  The dimensions of my favourite layout here are Card 8 1/2 x 5 1/2, Long Layer of CS 5 1/4 x 2, Long Layer of DSP 5 x 1 3/4, Square Layer of CS 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 and the Square DSP is 3x3.  Can't wait to hear about your creations!

A Note of Thanks

I find myself being drawn to this layout.  I love the versatility of it and the speed!  It's quick, you can easily add some ribbon and well, let's just say plain YUMMY!!!!  The DSP on this card is retired BUT the corduroy button matches SO nicely with it...don't you think?

Hello there!  Well what a fine sunny day we had here today (a little too chilly for me....but the sun was at least out!)  I'e got a few more Christmas pages to share with you.  I really like this layout, it was quick, fit lots of photos and can be used for any occasion! 

The Define your Life stamp set and alphabet really make a quick and cute title for a scrapbook page.  It's not something I think to pull out but am glad that I did.

It's funny that everyone was wearing a shade of red for our family Christmas with the cousins.  Totally unplanned!

Good Friend Class

I have to say that pages 90 and 91 have got to be my favourites in the whole entire catalogue.  They make me very happy!  (Doesn't take much to please me!)

It was such a toss up between the Good Friends stamp set and Cheep Talk (alright, I have them both BUT for the class I picked Good Friends!)  If you'd prefer Cheep Talk we can certainly substitute it for you.

I am very excited to showcase some new products at this class as well....including the cord buttons....yes, I'll be sharing!  LOVE THEM!  We'll be using chipboard with DSP, along with maybe a few new stamping techniques for you.

In the meantime here is another Christmas scrapbook page for you.  I've been asked why I don't always have a title or journaling.  If you see it on my blog missing these features, know that I will put them on the page before I put them in my album.  I just don't always have it on my blog as my message or title may be private for my family to read.  (Although the kids are going to punch the title for this as an ornament...that's why nothing is there yet)
