On the First Day of Christmas....

I am so excited to share with you my 12 days of Christmas scrapbooking project I'm making this year!  You guessed it.....it's using punches!!!!!  I am very happy with what I have done so far!  So for the next 12 days you'll see my pages that correspond with 12 days of Christmas song!

To scrapbook for this project, I have been taking (and will take more) photos of my kids doing different activities that either we did as a family or are Christmas related to prepare for the holidays!  On the last day of this project, you'll see my finished project all put together.  Each day you'll have a video to follow, as well as a PDF to print off!

I will have other posts this month, not to worry, and sometimes multiple posts in a day since there are so many things up and coming with the holidays! 

A few things I changed with this page since my video are....I added a few of the Trio Flowers in Kiwi Kiss on the tree, switched the direction of the bird and printed my title off on the computer.  This title is included in the PDF.  Have fun with this!  I hope you'll send me a link or photo if you decide to play along!

Same Supplies Different Cards....

One of my challenges that I sent out to my downline in my last package was a series of "pieces".  I sent each of them a Real Red Card, 5 1/5 x 4 inch piece of Old Olive, a 4x4 piece of DSP, 6 circles and some ribbon.  The rules were they could add any extra embellishments, any neutral cardstock and they could cut what I gave them.  (I will add photos and links as more of my downline send me their photos)  Thanks for playing along!!!!  They had so much fun with this and here are some of the samples:

I have the BEST downline in the whole entire world, seriously!  Aren't we a fun looking bunch?!?!  My only regret is that my other fine ladies couldn't make it!!!  Next time!  My dream is to have my entire team together sometime....from coast to coast!!!!  We had our Christmas dinner tonight (can I brag and say the turkey was darn good!??!)  Thank you to each one of you for contributing to the night and for making it so much fun!  I wish we could do this more often.....get together....and eat turkey!!!!

I was so fortunate to have 16 of my downline come tonight for dinner, socializing, games and secret Santa!  It was SO much fun!  Here are some photos from our night! 

My kids and I made each of my ladies a monogramed ornament (of course covered in glitter!) with a belly band around a tin of homemade chocolates.  The chocolates were fun to put together with Emma.  If you've never done the homemade chocolate thing before it really is quite quick and easy!

My downline Martha (white sweater, back row) taught me about Heat and Stick powder and boy do I LOVE it!!!  I'll be having a video tutorial on that one soon!

As part of my family Christmas traditions, my mom always made us play a game or do an activity.  This is a very fond memory of my childhood (and even now as an adult!) so I had to do a game with my girls tonight.  Heather B. wasn't having as much fun as some of us, but in the end we all had a great time....I think!!!!  Didn't you have fun????  I did a catalogue scavenger hunt that then had them unscramble a stamp set!  If for no other reason, thanks for amusing me!

The last part of our evening was a secret Santa exchange.  I'll share photos from our card swap and secret Santa tomorrow.  Thanks again ladies for being so wonderful and making my night!

Teacher Gift

  The stamp set Teachers Pet is just so darn cute!  For this very reason I want to go back to the classroom....okay, not really, staying at home with my kids is THE best BUT if I had to go back I'd have this stamp set and matching vinyl!!!

I have put together this as a kit for one of my kids' teacers this Christmas.  It has the supplies to make 10 of these cards, a black ink pad, the stamp set and some adhesive.  The their teacher can make the card themselves and stamp which ever image you like on the card and VOILA!!!!  Isn't that a fun idea!?!?

It's Launched!

The ovals are popped up with Dimensionals (2 stacked up on top of one another).  The cake is popped up one dimensional high so the ribbon can lay flat under it.

The cake is coloured in using the SU markers.

Hello everyone!  First off, thanks so much for wishing Mark a happy birthday yesterday!  He had such a GREAT day and thinks that being seven will be fantastic!  He was pretty excited about his cake and proudly has it displayed in his room with this banner on his door!  He did ask me why he had frogs though for his theme because apparently they are all burrowed in the mud in the bottom of ponds getting ready for winter (which by the way is here!) AND not out celebrating his birthday!  Kids are just too cute!

This is the banner I made for Mark in the same colour combinations as the invitation and cake.  I may just have to make him a real cake on Saturday (of course so I can scrapbook it!) using the same colours as well!!!!  The banner is Real Red, Pacific Point and Old Olive.  The frogs are on my videos in previous posts.  The banner is made using the AMAZINGLY fun pennant die (exclusively for SU from Sizzix) as are the letters (Serif Alphabet...LOVE IT....sorry Barb!)

Happy Birthday Mark!!!!

I can't believe it, my little guy is SEVEN years old today!  Mark is my kind hearted sweet little soul.  I say this all the time, but where does the time go?  SEVEN!!!!  He is so excited it's his birthday, he thinks it will be his best birthday ever! 

Mark is not my child - he doesn't like cake!  Can you believe it?  Every year I make him a cake because he wants a decorated cake but he doesn't eat it!  So this year I thought I would make him a cake.....but one he could keep forever and not have to eat!  You guessed it!  A cake made out of paper!  This was SO much fun to make!  The cake of course matches the birthday invitation (the hopping frog from last week).  I also used the same theme on his banner that we'll share with you tomorrow.

UR Sweet!

I have to admit upon seeing this Simply Scrappin kit in the catalogue I KNEW I had to have it!  I just love it and working with it makes me love it even more!  So much so that I've got another kit to do more with!!!!   The colours and the paper are just so fun and I had a great time scrapping stuff for all my kids on it!  Emma is really excited to create some pages on her own as well!

Penguins are SO CUTE!!!!

I have to say that this little guy is definitely my favourite punched creation so far!  I'm sorry it's taken me so long to share.  I made this little guy probably about 6 weeks ago in preparation for the punch class I held on Friday night.  However, my first one went missing, my second one was "penguinapped" by Mark and now I finally have one to share with you!  For the wonderful ladies that were at my punch class on Friday night this is what we made (only on a tag!)  He really does make me smile!

A complete supply list and step by step assembly instructions are on the video at the end of this post.  The little stamp "to: from:" is from the Country Living Promotion stamp set.

The colours on this tag are Gable Green (not very often you see this colour on my blog but I'm loving it!), Pacific Point, Real Red, Summer Sun, Basic Black and Whisper White.

Place Cards or a Gift Tag or......

The possibilities are endless on this one!  When I first started out stamping one of my most popular classes was an "explosion" scrapbook.  It's not like the boxes that are out there called explosion scrapbooks but a book that when the ribbon untied and you pulled open the cover the inside pages popped out.  Anyhow, this place card uses the exact same fold.  So when my friend, Anne, brought me over a super cute Twigster place card I freaked out and just had to modify and make them for my club this month!  So, here's the place card holder and the video to go with it!  Hope you like them!!!!  Can't wait to see your Christmas table setting creations!

Mr. Hopping Frog

First I'd like to start of with a THANKS to all my fabulous ladies that came out to my Christmas card punch class.  I had a blast and I hope you did too (and I would have had just as much fun if the baby weren't there...although she certainly added to it!)

In honour of the punch class, I thought I'd share with you a quick vidoe on how to make a HOPPING Mr. Frog card.

Mark's birthday is coming up and because we had so much fun making punched animals I wanted to make him a card with a punched animal on it.  Notice I use the word "I".  Mark was being a little bit difficult in the invitation department and told me I could only use white cardstock and ONE stamp on his invitation.....can you imagine?  SO, I had to do something to WOW him in order for him to "let" me make a bit fancier of an invitation!  It really was  a cute situation.

So this is what I came up with.  A colour combination using Real Red, Pacific Point and Old Olive.  The "look who's turning" is from the birthday greetings set and the rest is punches!  There is a list of all the punches throughout and at the end of the video for you.

Festive Friday!

It's that time again!  The chill is in the air, the winter is coming and that means the holidays too!  I can't wait!  I LOVE having no where to go, staying in my jammies and having my family all around....it's the BEST!!!!  Sorry, I'm getting ahead of myself on this one!

Here is one of the projects that I did with my stamp club last night (and again this Tuesday)  We did three things that actually I have all done videos for so you'll be seeing a bunch of videos over the next little while!

Isn't he sweet?  My friend Shannon showed me this little guy (but only briefly) so this is how my modified little guy looks!  The beard acutally is a scallop folded in half so you can write a greeting or use if for journaling in a scrapbook.  I really think that he would make the BEST tag on the gifts under my tree this year....wouldn't you agree?  A little silver cording out the top of his hat and voila!

I thought on the scrapbook page it would be fun for hidden journaling to hide your family Santa secrets for your kids to learn about as adults (or whenever they are no longer in denial:)

Brighten your Day!

  Well hello there on this miserably dark day!  Go figure the day I don't have the car it's HORRIBLE outside and Nathan and I have a ton of errands to do!  Oh well, the fresh air and excercise does us good!  Actually, it's amazing to me how fresh air can brighted your spirits even when the rain is coming down!

I thought I'd share with you a VERY bright and fun card today!  I love this set, Crazy for Cupcakes and I love this DSP even more....NOT Hawaii Punch....Hawaii Papaya (or something like that)  Anyhow, I really think I would have done well being an adult in the 70s.  A fridge these colours with matching shag carpet and me working away in the kitchen opening my orange tupperware while wearing a wool sweater would have made me so happy!

Itty Bitty Birthday

I'd like to start off with a thank you to our Veterans and all those involved with the military.  It's Rememberance Day today so please try and find the time to do a moment of silence in honour of all those that have provided for what we have today.  THANK YOU.

I am in LOVE!

Well hello there ladies!  Hope you are enjoying the start to a new week!  Well, after this exciting weekend and lots of fun, I had a bit of down time to continue playing with my Big Shot.  I have to say....I LOVE IT!!!  The Top Notes die is for sure my favourite, followed closely by the Pennant die.  You can do SO many things with the dies and I've only touched the surface!  Keep checking back for more fun projects with the Big Shot!

This is not a Heather original idea, and I wish I knew where the idea originated.  However, I have added some personal touches to the project to make it my own!  It's a WONDERFUL idea to show the multiple uses for the Big Shot Dies.  Thanks to the genius behind this one!

Supplies for this project:

Stamps: Priceless - I used the large swirl and stamped it in Old Olive ink all over the pennant dies (Stamped images copyright of SU 1999 - 2008)

Other: Big Shot, Pennant Die, Large Star Punch (punched 5 times to make the star at the top of the tree), 1 3/8 circle punch (I punched them out of the tree and then filled the holes with family photos), scallop punch

Cardstock: Old Olive (5 sheets), Baja Breeze, Real Red, Chocolate Chip

Under the Stars

Good afternoon to you all!  Hope your weekend is going well!  I had a great sleep in today after the funfilled day yesterday!  Thanks again to everyone that played a part in our fundraiser!

I was completely inspired by my mom in making this card.  A while back on my blog you'll remember her Under the stars card that used about 5000 different stamp sets....well, I took the plunge and mixed them up a bit!  I used Crab and Company as well as Under the Stars on this one!

WOW! What a great day!!!

Where to begin!?!?!  Thank you SO much to ALL the wonderful ladies that attended our GI Cancer fundraiser today!  It was such a success, and we couldn't have done it without you!  A HUGE thank you goes to all "my girls" on my downline team that helped make this day be so wonderful.  It is such an important event to me and to have you join me in my day really means the world to me.  I am so lucky to have you on my team and can't thank you enough for all you do!  And thanks to Sandra, Kylie, Matthew, Karen and Alex for giving up your day to help with the door, raffle and registration!!!  Here are some photos for you to enjoy! Aren't "my girls" a fun bunch of ladies!!!!  We just look so darn cute in our matching festive t-shirts (yes, that's Holiday Trinkets on our shirts!!!!)

OK, this photo cracks me up!  We have no idea where Annette was during the group shot and when she found out she missed it this is what she looked like!  I'm also sad that Belinda isn't in my pictures as she was there for the afternoon session and Anne-Maria had to leave early......we'll photoshop you in!

Peace, love and now joy!  Don't these three words just sum up children?  (OK, we're having a good week, I can say that:)  All kidding aside my kids are amazing and these pages just sum it up!  I really like these photos of Emma and the one of her up in the tree in colour is stunning!  Again, these photos were taken by my friend Matt.

I meant to thank each of you that participated in Matt's fundraiser for the Children's Hospital.  Together with your help we raised $380 in donations for this great cause!  Thank you so much!  These photos you've seen over the past few days were taken during our photo shoot for the Children's Hospital.

Emma's page uses the I Wish kit as well.  The Big Shot alphabet did the title and also check out the snowflakes....aren't they sweet?  This was done using the Big Shot as well.  I will do a little big of journaling under the photo on the right before I put these in my album (ok, in my drawer as I dont' really have an album going....I KNOW!!!!)

Ready for scrapbook page #2?  This one is so fun!  The photos of Mark turned out so great and I love his expressions in the photos.  They are just "so Mark!"  Again, this page uses the I Wish Simply Scrappin' kit.  Isn't it fun?!?!? 

The title is done with the Big Shot and chipboard as well using the textured Old Olive Cardstock.  I love the SU textured paper and tend to use this a lot on my scrapbook pages.

Well, I've redone my stamping studio for the upcoming holiday season.  I will continue to add to it but the first step is to change my three 12 x 12 IKEA picture frames.  So my colour theme for this season is going to be based on the I Wish Simply Scrappin' Kits.  So you'll be seeing a lot of Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Real Red!  LOVE IT....that and I found some AMAZING accent items at Sams club (55 balls for like $12!!!)  Anyhow, I'll show you the three scrapbook pages over the course of this week. The first is Peace.  I used photos from my friend Matt that he took of my kids.  They are GORGEOUS photos!  I love these ones of Nathan and the title sums it up.  He was at peace and happy doing HIS thing during photos.  Not so much Peace when we wanted him posted and smiling:)

Bella Blossoms

This isn't my normal style of card but I have to say that this set truly is beautiful.  I really like the simplicity and elegance of Bella Blossoms.  And of course, it looks great with glitter!  Who doesn't love glitter!  This card was inspired by one shown on cruise this past year.  I'm going on memory so some parts may be very similar or I could be way off!!!!  Anyhow, hope you like it!  I've also made a quick video with some tips and tricks to making this card!  Hope you like it!

(Also, thanks for all the emails and kind words about the Mr. Twigster kit!  I'll have more kits with different sets up throughout the next few weeks.  There are 3 Mr. Twigster kits left!)

And I have one other special thing to share today.  My dear little friend Alexandra made me this card so I wanted to show off what "Hallmark" can do!  That's my new nickname for her as she made 6 cards in one day!!!!  Isn't it sweet????

Tis the Season to be.....

Are you singing yet?!?!  I am getting SO excited about the upcoming festive fundraiser as well as the holidays!  I know, 7 plus weeks away BUT you've gotta start sometime!  Well, my focus this holiday season is going to be on giving so I have lots of different fundraisers that I'm involved with for lots of different people.  I am so blessed to have a great life that I'd like to give back.  So, I will be offering one of a kind card kits (actually six of a kind) throughout this month that will be just that!  SIX OF A KIND!  I will prepare six of each kit and the first six people interested will get this special, unique kit.  I will donate $10 from every kit sold toward purchasing basket for families this holiday season.  The money will go toward groceries and gifts for families in need. 

The idea of the kits is it is everything you need to make 10 of the card shown!  I will post the kits on my blog and if you are interested you need to email me privately and we will make arrangements.  Because SU policy is no cash and carry, I do have to order in the stamp set for you before I can ship it out to you.  I can also only offer this to Canadians!  I appreciate all of you that visit my blog BUT it is SU policy to only sell within Canada.

I didn't make this one....

I am absolutely touched by so many wonderful people in my life!  I appreciate having such great friends and LOVE to showcase their work.  I have to say that the timing is great too as I'm SUPER busy getting ready for the fundraiser next Saturday (WOWSERS...we've got 150 people coming!)  So, thanks to my amazing friends for making me such GREAT treats this past week (and for letting me post them on my blog...even though Ididn't really ask:)  AND thank you for letting them know just how great their work is!

This scrapbook page was made by my friend Sonia.  I gave her a stack of DSP one day and I didn't realize a photo of me from when I was a kid was shoved in the pile.  So rather than pitching it out or returning it, she made this BEAUTIFUL scrapbook page for me!  I am totally touched by this (and for those that know me, yes I cried!)

I LOVE Holidays!

I know, yesterday was my favourite day, Halloween and I've already forgotten about it and am moving on!!!  Christmas is less than two months away so here come the preparations!  I've taken down the Halloween decorations and YES, I've started bringing out SOME (not all, don't worry) Christmas decorations.  My studio scrapbook frames have been switched up and my new colour theme is Old Olive, Real Red and Chocolate Chip.  I will have photos to share in the days to come!

For today's post I thought I'd share with you a video I made for UStamp.  What better way to get in the spirit of the upcoming holidays than with a little Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer!  The steps to complete this card are shown in my video.

I do have some videos planned that DON'T involved a punched animal but for now my kids and I are going crazy punching animals!  Hope you like it!
