Happy Heart Preorder Class

Is this set not super cute???  I think it's just a given that this set and glitter go hand in hand!  We will be using glitter on three of the four projects so prepared to go home "all prettied up" (as Emma would say!)  Here are the projects we are going to make in the January Preorder class using the stamp set (and bundle!) Happy Hearts.  This stamp set is actually being offered in a fantastic bundle (SU discounted the product costs in this bundle!)  I've attached the flyer Download can_valentines_bundle_01081.pdf (if you'd like to check it out, just click on the underlined text and you should be able to see the flyer).  Included in the bundle (and the class) is a roll of 5/8 Red Grosgrain, a roll of 5/8 Regal Rose Grosgrain, a package of medium cellophane bags and of course the stamp set!  All this for only $39.95!!!! 

For this class all supplies will be included and precut for you.  The stamp set will be precut for you and ready for you to use the night of the class.  You will also get a sheet of Stampin' Dimensionals as we will be using a lot of pop ups.  You will have LOTS of extra supplies to go home and mass produce if you like for your Valentines.  Emma is just itching to get her hands on this set to make her class Valentines!  Here are the photos of each project up close:

Here is a list of my January and February clubs and classes.  I still have room in my clubs if you are interested in signing up.....remember you get a FREE catalogue!!!!

Stampers 6 - a six month commitment where you will come to my house each month to make 4 themed cards and learn some new techniques.  One of these months you will be the "hostess" and receive a hostess stamp set and free merchandise depending on sales (minimum of $30).  Each monthly order is $45 before shipping and taxes.  I have three spots left in this club if you are interested.  (So far I have Shannon, Jodie and Sherry signed up)

Dates: Monday January 21, Monday February 18, Monday March 10 (one week earlier to take advantage of sell-a-bration and to avoid March Break)

Stampers 6 with a twist - same as above except rather than coming to my house, you simply email me your order each month and you will receive 10% off your order.  I have two spots left in this club if you are interested. (So far I have Sharon, Renee, Vicky, Emma)

Scrappers 6 - a six month commitment where we will make 6 scrapbook pages each night we meet.  At the end of the club you will receive a level one set as a thank you for joining this club.  There are no hostesses each month as the hostess free merchandise is used to puchase materials for the upcoming scrap nights.  Each month is a minimum order of $45 before shipping and taxes.  I am currently at 7 spots and will open a second group if I have 2 more people sign up.  (So far I have Shannon W, Rachel, Breianna, Paula, Michele S, Sonia, Carolyn)

We will be making some birthday charms, a super cute tin with a belly band and a few birthday cards.  Your child gets to go home with the stamp set Bitty Birthday (NEW!!!)  The cost of this class is $24(if paid by Friday, January 11) and $26 if paid after.  Space is limited to ten children!

Saturday, February 9 - Spring Fling 9:30 - 11

We will be making a set of magnets and matching tin, a decortive package and a super cute flower bouquet.  Your child will go home with the stamp set Little Flowers.  The cost of this class is $22(if paid by Friday, February 1) and $24 if pad after.  Space is limited to ten children!

Preorder Classes:

For my preorder classes, you will receive the stamp set used for the class as well as all the supplies to make the projects.  I will outline the classes here and have photos of the samples up in the near future.  Space is limited to 10 people per class.  If you are unable to attend the class at my home I will make a kit with all the necessary supplies and instructions for you to make the projects.

Happy Heart Day Bundle - Tuesday, January 22nd 7 - 9 pm

We will be making a nugget tin (they are here and SO cute!!!), a 3x3 card, a standard sized card and a bag topper.  For this clas we will be taking advantage of the January SU special and use the Happy Heart Bundle (stamp set, 2 rolls of ribbon and cellophane bags at a discounted price!)  I will have to confirm the price of this bundle before I set my price as SU is LOWERING the prices even from the printed catalogues!!!  If this class is prepaid by Monday, January 14th the price will be cheaper.

A Good Egg - The CUTEST Easter set EVER!!!! - Thursday, February 7th

We will be making a card, some Easter treat wrappers, a tin and something still to be determined!  I have to get my hands on this set and create to finalize my last wish!  The price of this class will be $40 (which includes the $26.95 stamp set) if prepaid by Wednesday, January 30 and $42 if paid after.

If you are interested in hosting a stamping party at your home (or mine) sell-a-bration is the time to do it (LOTS of free sets for hostesses and customers....great time to get stamping stuff!)  I have four nights available in February and two in March if you are interested!

My most favorite gift I gave this year for Christmas was to my 6 year old son Jake. He loves to garden and grow pumpkins. Well this year he grew a 150lb one! So, for Christams I made him his own mini photo album with all of the photos that we took through out the summer of his garden. He loved it!! He told me later in the day that the album was the best gift he got!! How rewarding for me and him!!

Oh yeah, today's picture is a name frame I made for my SIL.  I added a bit of detail to this one by sponging clouds and grass in the picture and then hand drawing some blades of grass and I used my Cricut for the letters.

Taken With Teal, Old Olive, Purely Pomegranate and Pumpkin Pie!!!!

YUMMY!!!!  It's bright, fun and I love it!  Ok, so this card was actually fairly easy to make with a bit of masking.  I stamped the elephant first using the Taken With Teal, then stamped it on a scrap piece of paper to use for masking.  I put the scrap paper on top of the elephant and then stamped the giraffe in the Pumpkin Pie over the scrap piece.  This creates the effect that the giraffe is behind the elephant.  Then I stamped the bird in Pomegranate and the party hat in Olive.

Little Cutie

This is another card made with a NEW set from the NEW catalogue!  I wasn't sure of this baby set but now that I have it I really like it!  I LOVE the star and the matching big star punch!

New Stamps, New Paper!

I first have to say that I am very touched that so manyof you shared such thoughtful and kind messages so far on my blog candy.  I've really enjoyed reading about the 'perfect' gift.  I can of course rhyme off the wonderful store bought and handmade gifts given to me this Christmas which I truly appreciate and value but Mark gave me a wonderful gift on Christmas morning that really exemplified his sensitive and gentle side.  Emma and Mark ran downstairs just before 7 to see if Santa had come.  Emma ran upstairs just so excited saying he'd been, the stockings were full and some presents were out.  Mark sat on the edge of our bed with his arms crossed looking very sad.  We asked what was wrong and he said that "it was all his fault."  Adam and I of course were thinking the worst and wondering what he was talking about.  Tears welled up in Mark's eyes and said Santa didn't fill Nathan's stocking and it was all his fault.  Santa had written Mark a letter in response to his letter and Santa asked Mark if he would write a letter for Nathan this year.  I didn't realize this and Mark forgot so when he didn't see anything in Nathan's stocking he believed it was because of him!  Is that not the sweetest thing!!!  Just had to share this wonderful gift that Mark gave me....one of true emotion and innocence.  Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends!!!

MERRY ALMOST CHRISTMAS!!! and blog candy!

Well, these aren't "new" for you to see but my blog candy is going to be a name frame for someone!  I will stamp whatever combination of people and either stamp a title or use my Cricut for you.  I wish I had taken a picture of the name frame I gave to my mom today, I used a Cricut on it and had 17 people in the picture (lots of masking BUT super cute!)  I included all of my siblings, their spouses and their kids plus my mom and Bill.  I was thrilled with the outcome and would love to make one for YOU!

Mini Album....Advent #24

I made this album a while back and shared it with a friend that has family far away and misses them this time of year.  So I thought she could send this album home, have her sister fill it with photos and then send it back to her for some Christmas cheer.  It was a big hit which thrilled me as I didn't know what to do with this book....do any of you have that problem?  You make and make and make and don't always use?????  Anyhow, this album is only about 4x4.5 and was pretty quick and easy to make with scraps of paper and punches and ribbon but once all together it's a nice memorabilia.  It uses Rebecca scrapbook paper, the three flower punch that is retiring and lots of ribbon!

Wine Topper...Advent #23

Rather than putting a little tag I decided to hang this key ring photo creation on the neck of a wine bottle for a friend.  It's made using my Sizzix die punch and then I just scrapped the tags so it's easy to just plunk pictures on them.  This cover tag actually has another mini tag to pull out of it (the blush blossom sheet of paper)  I simple punched a hole using the word window and then slid in this tag.  I used the retired flower punch a lot throughout the book as well.  The colours used are Bashful Blue, Blush Blossom, Certainly Celery and Close to Cocoa.  Here are the rest of the tags:

Take Out Menu....Advent #22

Did you think I'd forgotten????  I've got four more posts to make the advent complete (OK and most of them are coming at you tonight....sorry!!!)  I've had a fun few family days and am loving the fact that there are no lunches to pack tomorrow! (how selfish of me to say that!) 

Today's post is not actually one that I made, however, I totally cased my fellow demo friend Danielle's wow swap from last year and made some of these up for some friends as little hostess Christmas gifts.  I used some of the new scrapbook papers in it and changed the colour scheme but this gives you a great idea of what I made!  I thought this idea was fantastic....a place to actually store and organize your take out menus.  Thanks for sharing the idea Danielle! 

I got the plastic outer shell at Staples and it fits an 8.5x11 sheet of cardstock in perfectly.   This sample uses Headline Alphabet (my favourite and it's RETIRING!!!!  WHAAAA!!!!  I don't think there's a good replacement in the new catalogue for it either:(

Anyhow, this is a quick and easy project to whip up for someone.  I included with a little phone book I stamped, a beaded pen and a postage stamp holder and wrapped it all up together with a tag saying "Let's get organized!"  Hope you like!

Mmmmm...Turtle Squares.....Advent #21

When I'm in the right mood I really enjoy baking and trying new recipes.  I was searching through some cookbooks I had and found this recipe for Turtle Squares.  I of course had to make a batch to test them, eat the majority of them and then make a bunch to share for the Christmas season!  I actually tripled the recipe and was able to make 6 of these square trays as gifts.  It is a quick and easy recipe and super yummy!!!

So I wrapped the trays in foil, tied on a cute bow and attached this reverse card.  I call it a reverse card because there is a pocket on the back of this card holding the recipe.

The card is a standard size and the kids will sign the bottom of these card fronts.  I cut the back of the card an inch and a half shorter so the recipe sticks out.

For a change here's the recipe for the squares:

Base: 2 cups, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup of butter.  Beat the brown sugar and the butter with a mixer for 2 to 3 minutes.  Stir in the flour after.  Press in the bottom of a 13x9 pan.

Sprinkle with 1 1/4 pecans on the base.

Put 2/3 cup of butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar in a saucepan.  Heat and bring to a boil and stir constantly for one minute.  Pour over the pecans.

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes.

Take out of the oven and sprinkle 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips on the top.

Cool, cut and enjoy!

$2.77 Box from Michaels....Advent #20

The other night at my downline meeting we got talking about my craft room.  I've now had my very own room (which is SO wonderful) for a year and I have not commited to hanging anything on the walls and I have not 'solved' all of my issues.....like ribbon!  We got chatting about ribbon solutions on Monday night so tonight when I was in Michaels getting supplies for Mark's class' craft (oh yeah, for tomorrow!) I saw these boxes and got a brain wave thanks to the inspiration of some of 'my girls'.

This is the box I saw (and of course it's brown!!!!)  Michaels had a huge crate of these boxes (and the brown was on the bottom and yes, they all fell over into the aisle when I pulled it out....lots of fun!)  Anyhow, I used to have some of these and I kept different things in them like embossing powder, punches etc. but it was too difficult to get the boxes when they were stacked on top of one another and I kept breaking the lids.  BUT I realized tonight this would be PERFECT for ribbon!!!!  How you ask????

What do you think??????  I used my silent setter and punched 28 holes in the one side of my box.  Then I used the SU eyelet setter and mini little hammer to set the eyelets (I couldn't get the silent setter to work on our jumbo eyelets)  I then lined up all the ribbon on the inside of my box (28 spools fit perfectly!!!!) and tucked the ends outside the pewter jumbo eyelets!  And not only that, there's room inside my box to hold any of the doubles in grosgrain ribbon that I have!!!  I am going to make another box to hold my wide grosgrain, double stitched, taffeta, gingham and soon to be released striped grosgrain(from the new catty!!!)  So this is a super cheap, quick and practical way to store your ribbon without your ends getting away on you! 

Box O' Cards...Advent #19

First off I have to say this is a 100% case from the NEW STAMPIN UP CATALOGUE!!!!!  Yes, you read it correctly, I have my new catalogue!!!  I saw this and right away thought I have to make this for my Grandma for Christmas!  (Did I mention from the new catalogue???)

Sorry, okay back on task here!  I made her 10 cards with matching envelopes in this super cute little box.  I will wrap it in cellophane, tie it with the matching chocolate grosgrain and make a mini 3x3 card with Baroque Motifs and Snowflakes as part of her gift this year. 

Recipe:

Colours: Soft Sky, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip

Stamps: Baroque Motifs (just for you Cindy and Christie!)

Other: Chocolate Grosgrain, Tag Punch, Vintage Eyelet, Vanilla Taffeta

The box is simply made from a 12x12 sheet of celery.  I scored it at 3, 7.5 and cut it off at 10.5. (same dimensions in both directions)  I cut off the corcer tabs (so you make a addition sign or "the plus sign" as Mark says) and fold the sides up.  I taped on the Soft Sky top piece and the ribbon and voila a box to hold the cards and envelopes!!! 

Back to the whole new catalogue thing....I think I'll be casing a bunch of things from this catalogue there are some super cute samples!  Let me know what you think!

Tree Ornament....Advent #18

Three advents in one day????  I know I've fallen behind but I had to catch up and even get ahead so you have time to create as Christmas is only 8 days away!!!  I can hardly wait!

This ornament tin I made last year for Emma and Mark.  Each year I make them each an ornament which is an 'Adam' tradition we carry on in our household.  It's fun to pull them out each year and look at them.  Because I am such a photo nut they usually involve a picture of them as well.   I have to say that this is one of my favourite parts about decorating the Christmas tree...looking at the pictures of the kids in years gone by.  They were just so sweet and innocent and pretty darn cute (OK, I'm their mom!!!)  They still are but they don't always look back on photos so seeing their reactions and hearing them say "I remember..." is priceless.

Inside the watch makers tin that I picked up at Lee Valley Tools (LOVE that store!) I have six ornaments.  I cut them using my CM circle cutters....it's such a wonderful tool, quick and easy!

As you can see I used the scrapbook paper from last year's catalogue with the True Thyme and Cranberry Crisp beautiful colours!  I used the oval punches a lot and the stamp set Snow Flurries to embellish the ornaments.

On the flip side of each ornament then is a photo!  I did some of each child, some together and one of Adam and I.  I made these as Christmas gifts for family as well last year and modified some of the pictures to include their children as well. 

Coconut Kisses Anyone....Advent #17

I've been seeing all these clear containers on blogs lately so I thought I best start making one.  And of course after it's made I had to fill it with my absolute FAVOURITE......coconut kisses!  The only problem is I may not be able to give this advent away!!!

Here's how I made this little guy.  I took a piece of acetate (overhead paper for all you teachers out there!) and cut it 4 x 8.5.  I scored it every 2 inches and then really made tight creases so it will hold it's shape.  Then I attached the tab with my sticky strip so again it gets a great hold.

The bottom portion is 3.5x3.5 made out of Blue Bayou paper.  I scored each edge 3/4 of an inch and then cut along the 3/4 line to make a tab on each corner.  I then stamped this, and folded it tight so it would easily maintain it's shape.  Then I taped this to the box as this is permanent and will not be removed.

For the lid I cut my paper 4x4 and scored around each edge at 1 inch.  Then cut each corner on this 1 inch line to create a tab.  Stamp, fold and crease well.  Tape the tabs on the inside of the lid so it can slide on and off.  Make a tag and you're done!!!!  This could be filled with any yummy treat for the holiday!!!

Great Idea....Advent #16

With a title like that one you'd think I'm talking about myself....but I'm not!!!  Kidding!!!  So a new blogger friend Shannon sent me a Christmas card the other day (and thanks by the way for all the WONDERFUL cards I've been receiving, I am so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life!)  Anyhow the card in itself is beautiful that she sent but I thought she was a genius for what she put inside the card!  Check it out!!!!  Isn't that a great idea?  OK, I'm saying it here on my blog, my intention will be to do this next year at Christmas (maybe I should start in January!!!)  I have to appologize I've been late this year in getting my own cards out BUT they ALL got dropped off at the post office this morning....what a great feeling!!!  Thanks by the way for all of you for posting comments the other day, I realize life is crazy busy for us all so thanks for taking the time!  If you've got a second, let Shannon know how spectacular her card is and what a great idea she had!!!  Have a great snowy day!

Movie Tin Take 2....Advent #15

I call this Movie Tin Take 2 because any of you that have been on my blog for some time notice this is a repeat!  BUT, this is about the fourth time I've made these tins for someone and I think it'll make a great Christmas Gift.  I'm going to fill the tin with treats such as candy and popcorn and then also include a movie gift card and give these to a few friends/family for Christmas.  It is a fairly quick and fun project to make!

Recipe:  Summer Sun, Real Red, Basic Black

Stamps: stencil alphabet (retired), popcorn set (yes, I know....I forget the name and it's also retired)

Other: Ribbon scraps, punches and LOTS of cutting!!!!

I am hoping to have a blog candy advent post but the comment section has TOTALLY decreased lately!!!  OK, I'll still be doing it so keep an eye and enjoy your time with family and friends!

Christmas Tree Ornament....Advent #14

One of Adam's family traditions (and there are lots!) is that each Christmas his mom made him an ornament.  Now I get to carry this tradition on for my kids!  Because I'm also a photo NUT I usually make my ornament some sort of picture holder as well.  This is actually the ornament I made in 2004 for both Emma and Mark and in showing it to some friends today I thought about making some for friends for their trees this year!  This is the ornament on the tree.....

This is the inside of the ornament.  It's a mini explosion book but rather than making all the folds and having multiple sections I just made it from one square measuring 6x6.  Score the paper at 3 inches on both edges and fold in.  Flip the paper over and score from one corner to the other on the diagonal.  "Pop" these in and fold the paper down.  Decorate, put a cover on (I made mine a bit bigger than the three inches) and now you have an ornament ot remember your little munchkin from this year for years to come!  Let me know how it goes!

Golf Tee Holder....Advent #13

I can't take ant credit for this post as I totally cased this from my SU Mexican cruise 2 years ago.  I thought it was a fantastic idea and both of my brothers are CRAZY about golf!

This is a little golf tee holder that I personalized on the outside of the little holder.

It is very simple to make, it's like a little matchbook.  My sample is 3.5 inches wide by 11 inches.  I scored it at 3 inches, 3.5 inches, 7.5 inches, 8 inches, 10 inches and 10.5 inches.  The final flap is just adhered to the inside of the package.  The holes for the tees are done using a handheld 1/4 punch.  The little flap on the bottom is made using the window punch and just rotates to the side.

I hope you like this!  It would make a great stocking stuffer for someone on your list!

Clubs, Clubs and More Clubs!

I am starting to plan my classes, workshops and clubs for the new year and thought I best post the information now as many of you are asking.  I have decided to run my clubs in a six month fashion to go with the new catalogue schedules....new club, new catalogue!  For anyone that signs up for my clubs this week I will have a BONUS thank you for you on your first night of club as well as a copy of the new catalogue.  Clubs are a first come first serve so please email me at adamsum@yahoo.com if you are interested.  The information I am posting is written as if the hostess benefit chart stays the same.  If things change, I will let you know as soon as I know.

Stampers 6 - This will be a six month club.  You will act as the hostess during one of these months and you will not have to place an order and you will receive a minimum of $30 in free product plus a leveled stamp set.  Your monthly order is $45 before shipping and taxes.  Each month we will be making 4 cards based on a theme.  January - birthday, February - thank you, March - thinking of you, April - special occasion, May - Christmas (scary, I know!), June - birthday.  Each month you will make 4 of the same card to get a nice stash of cards on hand or to pass along as a gift.  Envelopes are included as well!  If you cannot make it to a club night your supplies will be included with the order.  This club will meet the second Monday of the month (except in January we will meet the third Monday)

Stampers 6 with a Twist - If you are interested in slowly building your stamping supplies but don't have the time to commit to a certain night a month this is the club for you!!!  You will act as the hostess during one of the six months whereby you don't have to place an order and will receive $30 in free merchandise (minimum) and a leveled hostess set.  Your monthly order is $45 before shipping and taxes BUT you will receive 10% off since you won't be coming to my house.  You simply email me your order by the 15th of the month, I place the order and you pick it up and pay me when it comes in!  So you save for being non commited!!!

Scrappers 6 - If scrapbooking is your thing, or you'd like it to be your thing, this is a great club!  We get together one night a month and make 6 12x12 layouts!!!  Yup, 6 layouts so in 6 months you'll have 36 scrapbook pages completed!!!!  This monthly 2 hour class costs a minimum order of $45 before shipping and taxes.  This is a great deal as you keep the product and there virtually is no class fee!  The class is also created based on your needs and requests!  If you are a non demo you will also receive a level one hostess set on our final month as a thank you.

Marker Club - Do you have your eye on the SU markers?  They are SWEET!!!!  Love them!!!!  This is a four month club that enables you to get ALL the markers, a case, a level one hostess set and some free merchandise.  I can't commit on prices as I don't have a new catalogue as of yet but a typical club spends about $65 per month (including shipping and taxes) and one month you are the hostess and receive extra free merchandise.  At the end of the four months we will get together for a class to make 6 projects using the markers in different ways.

In the month of January I will also be hosting a preorder class with the upcoming Valentine's Day bundle and another fundraiser event at my kids' school which is 5 projects for $15. 

If you are interested in hosting a workshop, January is a great time to do it!  Stampin Up! has a hostess benefit where the hostess can pick ANY stamp set out of the preview brochure for free if you host a $525 party (which is very doable!)  This is a GREAT deal as it's extra free rubber!  (For those of you that know me, offering to do workshops must mean a great deal because I don't do them that often!)

Double Pocket Bag....Advent #12

Yesterday I went into Emma's classroom to do a Christmas craft with her class.  She opted for the double pocket bag and we filled it with treats.  This is a SUPER quick project that takes one sheet of 12x12 paper, some ribbon and a couple of brads and you're done!  The complete instructions for this bag are here but I'll do a quick run down on today's post for you.

Start with a 12x12 sheet of paper.  Score 2 opposite edges at 1 inch and the other 2 edges at 3.5 inches.

Fold the 1 inch flaps down and apply adhesive.

Fold in the 3.5 inch flaps and ONLY apply adhesive on the top flap, this will create a sleeve.

Lay on the table with the seam face down.

Fold the sleeve in half, yes this makes the seam rest on top of the package....not to worry!

Now, you want to fold your flaps back by about 3/4 of an inch.  (To describe it, your bag is a V right now, you want to fold the seamed pieces back to create a W)

Apply adhesive in the middle of your package to hold the two pouches together(this will make your bag stand up).  Punch holes in the front and back panel and feed ribbon through.  Secure the ribbon with brads.  Put treats in one part and a card in the other and you're done!  Quick, easy, inexpensive and thoughtful!  Have a great day!

Another Organization Idea....Advent #11

We made this very quick and fun project the other day at my upline's Christmas event which was so much fun (thank you!)  It is a holiday planner (but could be used for ANYTHING year round...okay switch up the colours a bit!) 

This is made with a 25 cent folder from Stamples in the Kraft colour.  I think it might be called a pocket folder.  Then it's covered with the oh so lovely (and I think retiring) scrapbook paper Dashing!

You create this by folding the folder in half (against the already folded crease) and then fold the outside edges in so you are left with quarters.....does that make sense?

On the inside of the folder, each of the quarters is decorated differently with the scrapbook paper and has different allocated sections: coupons, cards, lists, receipts. 

This folder has a lot of potential though....think of party planning.....guest lists, invitations, activities, menu and then you can store it away like this for your kids to look at in the future.  OR, you could make one for a friend that likes 'help' with their party planning!!!  Any other ideas?

Bunch O' Tags!....Advent #10

My friends over at Simply Details are providing yet another idea for my advent countdown!  I didn't even think of this until tonight as I was wrapping presents for under my tree and I needed tags!!!!  I pulled out my tag kit and VOILA my presents are super cute with a quick and simple stamp on them, the "to" and "from" and I'm done!!!!  I love this little kit.  It has 75 tags in it in three colours and a neutral and includes ribbon for only $8!!!!  Like the ribbon if you're interested let me know and I'll pass along an order for you!  The tags come in pinks, blues, earth tones, browns and a few others I forget! 

Here's just a quick little snapshot of the family!  We got our tree today (from a GREAT little place in Mount Brydges called Harris Tree Farm)  We usually go to Sloan's but last year Adam was disappointed with the tree so we went back to this place and we are loving our VERY full tree!!!! (If you don't know Adam he is a bit tree obsessed!)  We will be going to Sloans next weekend though for a day of family fun on all their great outdoor activities!  So I just set the camera up on and put it on timer and we got this cute picture of the five of us(there aren't too many photos of the five of us!!!)  Hope you're having fun making your 2007 Christmas memories!

RAK....Random Act of Kindness

My wonderful friend and stamping buddy Dale made this BEAUTIFUL card for me!  Her daughter was at my kids class yesterday and handed me this envelope.  With the crazy day I had yesterday I actually didn't open it up until tonight and WOWSERS....isn't this card AMAZING!!!  THANK YOU DALE!!!!

Inspiration

  I know I talk an awful lot about where I get inspiration from.  Well, wouldn't these little Life Savers storybooks (yes the ones maybe you got in your stockings for Christmas!!!) make a super cute card holder?  I bought a few of these for my munchkins for Christmas and can't wait to copy the template and make a little card holder for it!!!!  FUN!!!  Food for thought.

Card Packages....Advent #9

These card kits have been a really big hit and I've decided to make some up for a few avid stamping friends for Christmas.  What I've done is taken a new stamp set....never even been cut....created a card and then included the supplies to make 10 more of these cards.  If an image is used on my sample card that is not in the stamp set, they have been stamped for you.  The great deal about this is if you don't want to use the image, flip it over because as we all know....paper has 2 sides!!!!  I actually made this kit for a friend that I realize has this set so I'm offering this one for sale.  It would make a FABULOUS gift for a 'kid stamper' this Christmas or someone looking for a generic stamp set for all occasions.  It has super cute and funny sayings on it and you only need a black ink pad to stamp the image and then you can colour it in using any markers, pencil crayons etc.  On top of that, all the images fit on the circles so you can make a card for any occasion with this kit!

I think my favourite stamp from this set is the 'Like No Udder' stamp.  Emma gets a kick out of this one!!!!

Here is what the kit looks like opened up.  10 pieces of every paper needed, 10 Olive scallops, 20 Celery scallops, 30 (plus a few extras) white circles, 10 envelopes and 10 cards plus the ribbon.

Christmas Card

Sorry that I missed the last couple days of posting!  Not sure where the time is going....we are almost to mid December!  Yikes!  I really want to share my kids class with you but I can't because most of the moms check my blog and will see it!!!  So remind me after Christmas to share photos!

Each year I make my mom her Christmas cards.  This year she wanted one similar to one I already posted on my blog.  But of course I have to make them "original" for her so no one gets the same card, right???  This is my mentality anyhow.  So I used the super cute Santa from Naughty or Nice.  This card had lots of steps and was fairly time consuming but it was fun to make.  The hat and the outfit are paper pieced, which means I stamped them on the real red cardstock and then cut them out.  The card has silver snowflakes on them and the middles of these snowflakes have Red Stickles on them.  I masked the Santa and stamped the same snowflakes around Santa and used the Clear Stickles in the middle of these snowflakes.  Then his beard and his hat have the liquid applique on them to make it puffy.  His face, mitts and boots are coloured in using SU markers.  So, in a nut shell that's this card!

Another Gift Card Holder....Advent #8

I have to say that I really do love this gift card holder.  A fellow demonstrator made one at our last quarterly meeting and I missed the demo as I was showing something else so I hope that I did it right!  You can make two of these out of one sheet of paper. 

I cut my paper 4 1/4 by the 11 inches.  I then scored the card in the middle at 5 1/2.  I then scored my paper at 3 inches from each of the outside edges.  So looking at your paper from left to right you'll have a score line at 3 inches, 5 1/2 inches and then again at 8 inches. 

Fold your paper in half then fold the two ends the opposite direction so you make a W.  Then apply adhesive in the middle section to hold the W together.

Using the word window punch, punch out one punch (I just used the word punch a whole lot!!!) on the left end and one at the right end which will leave an awkward funny looking middle section.  Punch out 1/2 of a circle here and this will show your gift card and make a little pulley outey slot!

Colours: Soft Sky, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa

Scrapped Christmas Tree Ornament....Advent #7

Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you Lisa but I did not come home and create (yet, the night is still young!!!)  I will however have a post in your requested colour combination in the near future!  My upline, Alicia, had a super fun and yummy meeting tonight and while there she was showing off some of the new scrapbook paper that is coming in the new catalogue and can you say YUMMY!!!!  I can't wait!!!!

Well, tonight's Advent is quite boring on it's own (just ask Alicia, I gave her one tonight and she just stared at me funny!)  What I mean by this is when there is nothing on it, it's just plain ol' chipboard!  It's a chipboard ornament that has five 1.5 x 5 inch rectangles held together by a clip. The purpose of this mini album is to take your favourite pictures from this holiday season and cut them to size, mount them on the blocks and make an ornament for next year's tree with this years memories!  My kids LOVE to look back on years gone by so what better way to do it than with photos year after year!!! 

I chose to leave the cover of my book in the natural state.  Although I am going to make some of these as gifts/hostess gifts and will spruce them up maybe with some Dashing scrapbook paper.  I like that I used some smaller pictures inside and coordinated the cover with the Hung Up on the Holiday ornament (sniff, sniff.....It's retiring!!!!!)

I wrote on the pictures using my white gel pen.....how fun is that?????  I also edged the photos and chipboard with the white craft ink.

How Ewe Doin'?

Doesn't the title just make you think of Joey Tribiani from Friends????  Well, sorry to disappoint....I've made a card with Farm Fever(which is RETIRING!!!!!)  I LOVE this set and don't use it enough!  I'd prefer the greeting "How Ewe Doin'" but "Are Ewe Doing okay" works as well!  Here's a card I made for my SIL.

I have to say that I love the dry embossing.  I do like the Cuttlebug folders but sometimes I like to be more selective or have a bit less embossing. 

I've included a close up of the colouring for you!  Only a few more days for the colouring class on December 4th!  I've got one more spot if anyone is interested!

This has nothing to do with the card but I'm wondering what "the" item on your kids wish list is this year!  (I'm being selfish looking for ideas here!!!)

I made one of these little organizers a few weeks back and have to say it's getting well used!

Inside the container is a notepad (included!) and an accordian envelope organizer perfect for receipts, wish lists, coupons etc!

Just Stuff

I am tempted to call this post Advent #6 because I really reinforced today what matters so much in life....family, friends, love!!!  The gift of TIME is so precious and important! 

I have my neices and nephew for the weekend along with a few of Emma's friends.  We had our cookie party today and it was SO nice to spend TIME with them and enjoy their company!  I feel so rushed sometimes and don't always feel like I spend enough time with them so I encourage you to give the gift of time to someone special today, tomorrow, Monday....soon....and just sit back, relax and enjoy! 

I also spent the morning at church helping at the nativity display my FIL puts on.  Here are a few photos of my FIL's nativities.  A few weeks back I posted a journal I made for him to put photos of his nativities in.  Well, today at church it was the Many Moods of the Mangers and he displayed 287 of his nativities!  I thought I'd also share a few pictures of a few of my favourite, and non traditional ones.

Onto the SU news of the day.....THE RETIREMENT LIST IS OUT!!!!  CLICK HERE TO SEE THE LIST!!!!!Can you believe that we are already getting a catalogue in another month????  I'm just used to this one and now we're moving on!  I am SO sad we are losing Cold Play (the build your own snowman set!), Hung up on the Holidays (LOVE the gingerbread man!), BOOGLIE EYES (Hello????), Farm Fever (just getting into this set), I'm Here (LOVE the hand prints and foot prints), Headline Alphabet!!!!
